About this cabin rental
Nestled on the border of the Nantahala National Forest is a cabin known as 'The Mountain Retreat @ Yellow Creek'. Escape to this cozy cabin decorated with rustic style furniture and complimented with accessories inspired from Mother nature. Within steps of a hiking trail, fishing and a view of Yellow Mountains is where you'll find solitude and serenity.
There is 900' of living space and 450' of covered porch, deck and balcony areas.
Bikers: Our private road (Arthur's Circle) has a grade level of 16% on the concrete and is sloped at the entrance of the driveway (See photos). This road is NOT for the novice motorcycle rider, although we do have second driveway in front of the cabin that you could park in. We also have additional parking if you are bringing a trailer which is about 50' from the front of the cabin.
There is a wide range of activities in Graham County with national forests, three pristine lakes, rafting rivers, waterfalls and hiking trails. For your information, there are many brochures of attractions and restaurants within Graham County & neighboring Counties that are located at the cabin.
Smoke-free inside, of course your welcome to smoke outside away from the doors.
It's pet friendly welcoming up to two pets with a fee for extra cleaning, etc. One pet is $75.00 and two pets $125.00. You will be charged for two pets because the website is not designed for two fees, so just let me know that you have one pet and I will refund the extra $50.00. The pet potty area is behind the carport or along the private road. No pottying on the front or back lawn. Always plan to pick-up your pets waste. Thanks.
If your plans require additional accommodations for extended family and friends, we have two other cabins within walking distance known as the 'Ridge Haven at Yellow Creek' on vrbo #240956 and Le Chalet, vrbo # 2090059.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Perfectly lovely place to stay. On it's own level on the hillside so while there are a few neighbors you really don't notice. Off the main routes so traffic is minimal. If you've got a sporty car or a motorcycle or two the carport is an awesome feature. My MX-5 had no trouble with thedriveway.

From the moment we turned into the driveway till the time we had to leave it was the best place to have a motorcycle getaway. The host made sure everything was clean and welcoming and will definitely be making this a yearly thing for me and my family. The internet was great and we had everything there to make it accommodating. Thank you again for the hospitality

Debra cabin “Mountain Retreat “was a perfect location for our visit . The cabin was the perfect size for my husband and I and our puppy Ziggy! We would definitely use any cabin located on this beautiful property. Debra greeted us upon arrival which is a great personal touch!

This cabin is beautiful and cozy. A great spot to be away from it all. We had a great stay and the cabin had all the required amenities. The internet was good and a new system was being installed when we were there.

My wife and myself were totally amazed! Our host Debbie, was fantastic to work with. The beauty of the countryside was totally breathtaking! The surrounding mountains and their trees were in full fall color. The "Dragon Tail" and the Chonoa River were simply breathtaking. This was the first time we stayed in a Vrbo vacation and after this experience, you will see us back again! The only problem we had with this experience, is that we only stayed for three days!

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin!! It was very clean and cozy. There are a lot of trails to hike in the area. We were able to block off the 2 entrances to the deck and let our dog be on the deck with us without being on a leash. We had good communication with the host. The master bedroom is on the bottom floor and was dark for good sleeping. We were able to walk our dog up and down the driveway and on the trail at the top. The Mountain View and changing of the leaves was really beautiful!! We truly enjoyed our stay!!

Great “ base camp” for our brief motorcycle trip . The cabin was well maintained, clean and had all the necessities. Upgraded Wi-Fi/internet connectivity worked great. Owner was responsive and helpful. We’d definitely go back.
Thanks !!

The home appears to have been renovated recently. The is a flat private space between the house and mountain with a fire pit, picnic table and chairs. The road is paved to the nice gravel driveway. There is covered parking. There is a wrap around porch on three sides and a balcony on the second floor. I will stay here again and highly recommend it.

The best stay ever! Usually stay at Hiltons and have never stayed at any rentals before, WOW! I have been so pleasantly surprised, it was so cute and she thought of everything. Just bring your toothbrush and pj’s. Plenty of things to do or just relax on the porch in a rocker. I would stay again anytime!

Had a nice visit while checking out the area. The cabin was perfect for us. Would stay there again.

The cabin was adorable. Loved the decorations and lacked for nothing. Everything you could want or need was available. The queen bed was very comfortable. Quiet, and felt safe and secure being there alone. The brook in front of property was heard from the porch or when the door was open. Very peaceful. Great place for reflection. Not all that close to other places but was a perfect place, a hub, pretty much equidistant to just about anything you want to do. Did learn a few “shortcuts”. The neighbors were friendly. Debbie was wonderful. Just wish we could have spent more time together. Quick to respond with any questions. Would most definitely stay here again.

This is a lovely cabin, very clean and well-appointed. And Debbie was responsive to our inquiries and needs. However, it is very far away from most attractions - Skyway, lake beach, non-vertical hiking trails, marina, etc. We found ourselves driving at least a half hour to hike Yellow Creek Waterfall Trail, etc.

Beautiful place to stay
The cabin was very clean, had everything you could need, and the owner was extremely friendly. Also provided a ton of information on things to do and places to eat. Location was beautiful, peaceful, and exactly what we needed for our vacation. I would highly recommend this cabin for a vacation spot!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful quaint cabin in the woods.
Loved the cabin; adorable inside. Loved the deck especially the covered portion. Great woodsy view. The car port for the cycle was great. Enjoyed the fire pit as well. Had to get our own wood, though. Wonderful little cabin in the woods.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is in a great location, off the beaten path but only 30 to 45 minutes away from everything we wanted to do. White water rafting, swimming, hiking, Fontana Dam, it's all just a short drive away. The house is very cozy and we enjoyed playing card games every night. Thanks so much for a great vacation!

The property is absolutely beautiful!!
Everything was clean and well taken care of. Anything you could need was there. It was a very comfortable stay. Very peacful. There are other houses on the property but we barely even noticed but also would be great for multiple small families. A great place to just spend the day or to come home to and make a nice dinner after a day hiking and exploring. Will definitely be going back for another stay. Debie was great and gave great suggestions for the kids.

Pros -- We enjoyed the house over all. The property is about 30 minutes from Bryson City where there are a ton of things to do and about 1 hour from Cherokee. There are lots of hiking trails near by. The area was very quiet which was nice. Communication with the owners was positive and there was a quick answer for all questions. House was furnished with towels, dishes, blankets, and bed linens.Cons -- The elevation of the driveway and pitch was pretty steep. I wouldn't suggest anything without 4 wheel drive. There was a septic smell in the lower bathroom when it rained but all other rooms were fine. There is no cell service and they did not have a house phone. This wouldn't have been an issue if wifi was working properly but we were unable to connect to any devices. The neighbors in the house above us had the same issue. If we knew there wasn't wifi we wouldn't have stayed at this location due to our work responsibilities. It was a huge inconvenience. Pets are allowed but have a designated area at the back of the property and aren't allowed on the lawn.
