The Coop was perfect for relaxing and resting. It had EVERYTHING you could need... so well equipped and maintained. Craig was so very helpful. He went far beyond necessary to make sure that we had all that we wanted to make our stay delightful. We celebrated our 60th anniversary in the midst of God's rich creation and it will be a memory that will last the rest of our lives. We took scenic drives which were awe-inspiring, but the greatest blessing was just reading and relaxing on the back, screened-in porch of the Coop. Ahh, so peaceful and so restful. We definitely hope to return.

An ideal escape into nature. You’ll be nestled in the woods alongside a neighboring cabin, though you’ll otherwise feel surrounded by nature. The cabin was well furnished with all the essentials that you may need for either a short or long stay.

This is a lovely and cozy home that met all of our basic needs while traveling. It was clean, had an equipped kitchen and bathroom and a beautiful porch. The location is perfect if you're looking to avoid the super touristy areas around the Smokies, with plenty of breathtaking nearby hikes and water. Our 4-wheel drive vehicle didn't have any issues getting up the driveway, but it's worth noting that for people not used to driving in the mountains, it was a little nerve wracking. Also good to note to pay attention to the video/directions to arrive, as our GPS led us to the wrong home. Finally, the main bed is extremely comfortable, but the pullout bed should be left for little kids or pets. Overall I have no regrets and we had an amazing time.

It was incredibly peaceful out there and the weather was so nice. Craig was a great host and he helped when I wasn't sure how to get passed the hill when leaving the property.

This was our second time staying at this property and we love it. Each time we have taken my dog along with us. The cabin is always clean and cozy. The screened-in porch is an absolute dream. The cabin is only a 20-30min drive to near-by hiking trails that we like to do. The owners have always been super nice. We were not ready to leave that porch but cannot wait to go back!

My wife and I and our 13 year old shepherd, lab mix spent 4 nights in March. Very cozy for 2 people and a pet. Very cute and clean cabin with everything we needed. The bed is sooo comfortable!!! Little chily to use the screened in porch out back, but it would definitely be nice with warmer weather. Steep driveway, but our truck did fine. Highly recommended!!

We really enjoyed our stay at "The Coop" the drive up the mountain was a little unnerving in the rain especially at night. But the Cabin is great for 2 people.

My son and I spent 3 days at the Coop. Perfect size for us and had all the amenities we would need. Very clean, good location, lovely area. You're about 20 minutes from the NOC (where we spent most of our time), 30 minutes from Bryson City, 1.5hr to Clingmans Dome. You could easily make a day trip even to Gatlinburg. The host were responsive and had the cabin ready to go. I can see how the drive-way up to the cabin could be precarious in the winter or with a super low riding car, but I had no difficulty and the instructions provided were excellent. If I were to go back to the area, this would be the first place I would check for availability.

Stay here
The coop was absolutely gorgeous. Stocked well with all paper products, candy, spices, coffee and bath products. It was such a beautiful cabin the host were the very best. The privacy, serenity and view from the large screened porch could not be beat. We enjoyed it so much we never turned the Tv on during our week long stay and only left the property to run to the store a couple of times. Definitely plan to return.

Quiet, secluded, gorgeous
Cabin is well-maintained and superbly equipped. Everything we needed (and more) was not only present but easy to find and use. It is clear that the managers have put much time and effort into making this cabin a place of convenience, comfort and rest. Would, and probably will, book this cabin again in a heartbeat!

our family loved it
This lovely little cabin made a great homebase for our family as we spent a couple of days exploring hiking trails and rivers of the area. My kids especially loved it. Gas grill on the porch was perfect for summer cooking. We all slept great!

LOVE this place!!!!
This beautiful little cabin has the most amazing views from the back porch where we enjoyed coffees and watching the sun come up. It was so quiet and secluded. The cabin is well-stocked with kitchen cookware so we were able to make tasty dinners and breakfasts (ate lunches on the trail). There is a full sized fridge too. There is a ton of hiking in the area and a beautiful hike on the AT to Cheoah Bald that is less than ten minutes away! If you stay here and want a shorter hike, please go to Joyce Kilmer, it is magical! We cannot describe how much we absolutely love this clean, cozy and welcoming cabin. Such a gem!

Perfect Stay!
We loved our recent stay at The Cabin In The Woods - Coop! It was the perfect size for our family of four, the amenities were plentiful, and the bedding was so soft! We were able to explore Joyce Kilmore National Forrest, Lake Santeetlah, Yellow Creek Falls, and we drove through the Tails Dragon! It was the Perfect Stay!

Perfect Getaway!
The Coop is an amazing, adorable little spot! We cancelled our wedding and honeymoon due to COVID, but got married in a quick civil ceremony and wanted some sort of trip to mark the occasion. This cabin was the perfect option, and it was so clean that we felt entirely comfortable. We loved the little touches and the owners so clearly take time to put in effort. The holiday decorations were so sweet!
This may have been an even better honeymoon, since it was so affordable that we can -- and will -- come back. Plus, we were able to bring our dog, so the whole family was together. I cannot recommend the Coop enough! BOOK HERE!

Great deck!
I loved the screened in deck. It's a well equipped small cabin. Had everything we needed and was clean. The shower was good. The road up the mountain to the cabin is narrow though, so take your time.

Basic cabin
Nice little basic cabin. Surprised at the number of other cabins close by. The lane in is just big enough for a jeep.

Ideal cabin for our family get-away
This cozy, well-equipped, and comfy cabin was a great spot for our family of three to enjoy a much-needed respite from life at home during these unending months of covid-induced isolation. We enjoyed the quiet location that gave us easy access to adventures at Nantahala Outdoor Center and Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. Hope we'll be able to venture back again.

Great little cabin
Loved The Coop! Very clean and well equipped. The perfect getaway. Could have listened to the rain on the metal roof for days. So peaceful! Not a lot of extra space for storage, be thoughtful when you pack. Perfect for our family of 3 and pup!

Great little cabin!
We had an amazing stay at the little cabin in the woods. Perfectly secluded, very clean, great screened in porch, which our pups loved! The kitchen was fully stocked with anything we could’ve possibly needed. Directions were clear and easy, no complaints at all!

Brought in 2020 at The Coop
Wonderful getaway for watching the big Football Bowls and relaxing after a hectic Christmas Holiday. The cabin was emaculate and had EVERYTHING down to a small box of matches. The host couple even left us a bottle of Champagne to celebrate the new year while we were there. The enclosed porch gave our Yorkey a place to play. Because of my support dog we brought food to last us during our stay. Small appliances, gas grill, miscellaneous eating utensils, etc....anything you needed for staying in for meals. The drive up to the cabin was a challenge, but you were warned ahead of time. We appreciate the owner's kind hospitality. I didn't think I could convenience my husband to get away during Bowl Week, but we both are big SEC/ACC fans and enjoyed relaxing in a homey atmosphere. Perfect for 2....and a small dog.

Perfect for a quiet getaway
The Coop was perfect for our long weekend away from home! It is tucked away into the woods, so peaceful and quiet, and an easy drive to hikes, waterfalls, and breweries in nearby towns. We received very detailed directions prior to arrival, so the house was easy to find even at 11:00 at night. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and morning coffee. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect!!!
My Husband and I stayed at the Coop for our Honeymoon. Loved sitting on the back porch listening to the quiet noises of Nature. Nestled in such a cute, cozy little town Stecoah. Everyone is so nice. It was perfectly centered in the middle of all the things we had planned that week. We visited Cades Cove, Gatlinburg, Fontana Dam and many other adventures. The owners where so sweet and helpful the entire time, the little touches to the cabin made it perfect & cozy ,they have thought of everything. They even checked in on us midweek to make sure we had everything we needed. The owners where so hospitable . They made everything seamless, from meeting them at the storage unit to store our boat (which they were nice enough to set up for us before hand) checking in and checking out. We will definitely be visiting again. Already Planing a family trip & our 1 year Anniversary trip.

Hidden heaven in the woods.
We wanted a real tech detox experience in the middle of the nature to celebrate our son's first birthday.
The place is amazing and you are literally in the middle of the woods.
The owners are very helpful and have covered every single detail, including how to get there with different vehicles.
Cozy and close to many trails, it is either good for walking around or just relaxing and resting in the middle of the Apalachian woods.
It's a dream.
