About this house rental
We are just feet from the lake!! (the map location is a bit off)
This lakefront cottage has everything you need for a Maine vacation you will never forget, including your own beach!
Swimming, kayaking, BBQing, reading, and relaxing are just steps away. Wake up to gorgeous sunrises, coffee, and loons!
This renovated cottage features a well-equipped kitchen ready for anything from hotdogs to Maine lobster. A large fridge for plenty of cool drinks, a dishwasher so you don't have to, the 5 burner stove or maybe just cook outside on the gas BBQ.
The camp is ideal for a small family. With 2 bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and the other with a twin over a full-size bunk bed, there are plenty of sleeping options. The new bathroom has a generous size shower and laundry.
The open floor plan of the main room lets you cook, dine or just relax on the couch, all while taking in the beautiful views of George's Pond and your own sandy beach.
Boaters will like the rock-free beach to land your boat. Oh, and the lake is excellent for fishing ... trout, bass, and perch. George's Pond in June is one of the best lakes in Maine for bass fishing.
The cottage is moments away from a public boat launch on beautiful George's Pond where you can launch your boat.
Or just kayak out from our beach with the 4 kayaks provided for your enjoyment.
We offer the best of a Maine lakefront 'camp' experience but with the conveniences of a modern home.
We've opened our home to you. Welcome to 'Two Loons'.

This cabin was fully stocked with all needed kitchen, bathroom and laundry essentials, and was in a beautiful location on George’s Pond, with a beach and dock. Cabin was extremely clean, and the view from living area was unbeatable. The hosts were very responsive, and brought window AC units over immediately for the bedrooms when we experienced an unexpected mid-June heat wave. Kayaks were wonderful, they had fishing rods and tackle available in the shed, and my son and hubby pulled in many large bass (several over a foot) both from the kayaks and the dock. Panfishing was not great, but it’s still early in the summer. We had a perfect week at Two Loons at George’s Pond, and will definitely return.

Spent a week exploring the Downeast area in Maine. Each day we returned to our rented cabin on a little pond with all the comfrents of a modern day home. Spent down time exploring the pond, watching a the wild life and enjoying the great weather. Enjoyed your comfortable cabin so much we are going to plan another trip to the area in the future.

Loved this week! We saw so many wonderful views including the one from the porch! So much to enjoy from fishing to kayaking to just watching the sun come up. We would recommend to anyone.

We had the best time at the two loons camp on vacation. The pond was beautiful and the camp had everything we needed. The visiting dogs from other camps were a sweet bonus.
If I get a chance to come back to this area I would definitely stay here again.

Well appointed cottage. Everything you need is there. Beautiful views of the pond. Not private but the neighbors are quiet and local pets very friendly.

This was our first trip to Maine and we loved this cute and cozy cottage. It was clean and welcoming. Our favorite part was the dogs next door that came to hangout everyday! Great place for a small family. Our daughter enjoyed it.

Our stay at Two Loons was great and overall was a good location to what we wanted to see and do during our visit. The home was a good size for our family of 3. It was refreshing staying in a VRBO that actually had everything we would need (as listed). We loved waking up every morning to the relaxing sounds and views over George’s Pond. We are going to recommend to everybody we know to stay here during their Maine visit and if we ever make it back to Maine we’d love to stay there again.

This was the first trip to Maine for my wife and I, and we wanted to stay in an area that was a balance between being close to the "action" but yet far enough away to have some peaceful relaxing evenings.
This place did not disappoint! A beautiful cottage both inside and out. A great setting by the water with an excellent view. We also enjoyed a trip around the lake with the provided kayaks. I took a fishing rod and took no more than 25 casts and managed to catch 1 largemouth and 2 smallmouth bass. So i would say if your looking to do some fishing it looks like you could be in for some good action.
We visited the majority of the main attractions and had a blast doing some hiking around Acadia. A long day on the trails, dinner in bar harbor, and then a brief ride back to the peaceful super clean and cozy cottage was just the balance we were looking for. Would definately stay here again, going to recommend to some of our friends.. A++

Tim was a pleasure to work with. Great communication leading up to our stay, and checked in to make sure everything was going well while we were there. Regarding the cottage, it was extremely clean and well kept. The cottage is also stocked with anything you may need. It sits directly on the pond with beautiful views of Cadillac mountain. Make sure to catch the picturesque sunrise and enjoy a fire in the pit at night underneath the stars. Location to Acadia and Schoodic point was great. We had no issues driving into Acadia each day for hiking. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you very much!

Such a beautiful setting and cottage was very nice. Tim had all the amenities you might need - super thoughtful! The fall setting was gorgeous and we did utilize the kayaks as well. Very peaceful and relaxing - quick drive to Acadia and scenic w the fall colors. Highly recommend his cottage and hope we can go back again some day soon. Thank you for sharing your cottage w us!

We really enjoyed our stay at 2 loons! It has breathtaking views of George's pond, kayaks for exploring, and plenty of wildlife with ducks and, of course, loons. It was clean, comfy, and well equipped. Definitely a great place to stay if you truly want to experience the beauty of Maine!

The house is situated on George’s Pond and has a small beach suitable for swimming. There is also a fire pit, picnic table and grill available to prepare and eat a meal outdoors and then site by the fire. House is just the right size for a couple or family with Kids. House was clean and had all the amenities needed for cooking including a large pot for lobster. Gas stove made cooking a breeze. There are houses next door on each side but it was quiet. The neighbors have a couple dogs that would stop by for a visit everyday. Very sweet dogs. They would just lay there waiting to be petted. House is off the main roads so it is quiet but still accessible to Bar Harbor, Acadia and Schoodic. There is a gas station not far that sells snacks and such for a quick hunger fix or tank top off. For a meal, you’ll need to drive into town or cook at home. We did both. Try Chippers on US 1 in Hancock. Food was very good. Lunch on the Wharf in Corea for lobster roll or burger. Then of course, need to visit Acadia, Schoodic Point (Ravens Nest), Bar Harbor and Beech Cliff trail that overlooks Echo Lake. Also, take the kayaks out on the pond and view the Bald Eagle flying over the lake and the Loons calling. All in all a very nice stay and an accessible host who quickly answered any questions.

This was a perfect getaway for my family. House and clean and Tim thought of everything you may need. Beach was sandy, dock was a perfect spot to post up all day. Neighbor hood was quiet. Pond was picturesque, and my kids enjoyed roasting marshmellows and playing outside all day. It was a short drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor for exploring. We forgot a few things and was only a 25 minutes from anything you need.

This has been the best vacation rental we've ever had! The property listing was exactly as described, and in some cases, better than described! The view looking out over the pond with the mountains in the background was amazing, inside and out! We loved having the water so close. It was great for swimming---a nice amount of shallow water before getting deeper was great for your 7 and 10 year old children. There were four kayaks which allowed all of us to go out on the water at the same time. The diving board on the boulder in the middle of the pond was a unique and awesome perk! We took two day trips out to Bar Harbor, which was a short 40 minute drive. We took Tim's recommendation to hike Schoodic Mountain (which you can see when looking out from the dock, and we were not disappointed. 360 degree views of Acadia and if you know the shape of the pond, you can see "our pond" from the top! The cabin itself was perfect--nothing too fancy, but comfortable, clean, and with a great layout. We kept the windows open as much as possible so we could hear the sound of the water indoors (yes, the water is that close!!). Would recommend 10/10!

This cabin truly has it all! The Franklin, Maine location makes it easy to day trip to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The beautiful waterfront right out the patio door coupled with a wall of windows made for spectacular views! Tim has stocked the cabin with everything you could possibly need, even kayaks and a grill. Perfect summer getaway...thank you, Tim!

We just returned from our stay at Two Loons. It was by far one of the best properties we’ve stayed at through VRBO. The location was amazing right on the water and so close to
Acadia, though we rarely left we enjoyed just hanging out on the water abs relaxing. Our two young children loved the beach area and being able to walk into the water. The house was will equipped with everything you need for a week away from home. It was such a great vacation we didn’t want to leave!

The cabin is even more amazing in person. It was so quiet and beautiful here. We saw loons up close and watched bald eagles catching fish right from the dock. My whole family loved it here. It was clean and well maintained. It was also only a short drive to Acadia National Park which we also loved. I can’t wait to go back.
