About this apartment rental
Ideally located in the Victorian seaport of Port Townsend, this studio apartment is light and quiet and perfect for one or two people seeking a longer stay on the Olympic Peninsula. The studio is a short walk to the beaches and forests of Fort Worden State Park and a five-minute drive to Port Townsend’s Uptown or Downtown business districts. We’re just two blocks from a bus line, in an area with bike lanes, and close to trails and beach walks. It’s a perfect place to access the Olympic National Park and Hood Canal, to attend music festivals or conferences at Centrum, or to take in a film at the restored Rose Theatre. Port Townsend is full of unique shops to browse in on rainy days as well as cafes and historical museums.
This apartment was constructed in 2007 and has all cork floors, a new queen-sized bed, living room/sitting area, bathroom with a shower/tub, and a full kitchen. Numerous large windows make for lots of light, and the neighborhood is quiet. A set of stairs accesses the apartment, which sits above a garage (used for storage). A backyard garden designed to attract songbirds, butterflies, and bees rests between the apartment and the owners’ home and there are chairs and tables available for sitting outside during warmer weather. Our adjacent property to the east includes a vegetable garden and plum tree orchard. Deer are frequent visitors around the Froggy Bottoms neighborhood, and bald eagles soar overhead. Bird species common to the garden include Anna's hummingbirds, white- and golden-crowned sparrows, cedar waxwings, rufous-sided towhees, flickers, and occasionally sharp-shinned hawks.
Ideal for singles or couples, for those looking to get to know the area or relocate to Port Townsend, and for those seeking a quiet place to read, write, and dream.
Wi-fi. Electric heat. We’re sorry we can’t accommodate pets.
During COVID, we are currently accepting only guests from Washington State and Oregon or other nearby states with good practices. Guests will understand in advance that we require masks for all socially distant interactions and no overnight guests or drop-in visitors inside the apartment.

I stayed here for three months while taking a course at Ft Worden. Being close enough to walk or ride my bike to the fort was great. The hosts were quick to respond and helpful.

The unit was very clean and just the right size for me. All the things I needed were available and the hosts had left a good notebook on all the things I might have questions about. They are conscientious environmentalist, which I appreciate. I will come back

I enjoyed the stay. The host are next door and were very friendly. They offered me a fan during a warm period. The neighborhood is away from downtown and very quiet. I would probably not stay again because of the stairs (I am too old for stairs) and because I could not have old friends visit from Seattle overnight. Otherwise it was a nice place to stay.

This place is perfect for someone who wants to unwind, read, write that novel you have been planning and nestle into a well stocked, beautifully decorated cozy home.
There’s walking trails nearby. I loved seeing the deer around every day. I was staying here while my Home was being built- and it was perfectly set up for short or longer stays. Shopping and restaurants are only minutes away by car.
My Hostesses were helpful and respectful.
It was lovely.

Everything about this rental was excellent; host, location, neighborhood, and the extremely tidy and functional studio. It exceeded our expectations on all counts.

My wife and I stayed for a full month—Just could not have been nicer! It's been months now since we were there and still reminisce almost daily.
The hosts are great! The place is great! The walks around the hood—Wow! The deer—Wow! The trees—Wow! And a quick drive to downtown or uptown.

I can't say enough good things. The cleanest home rental I've ever experienced. Cute. Has everything you need. Excellent location. Gracious and accommodating hosts. If I could give higher than 5 stars I would!

Easy living in this studio. There's always a nice breeze through the plentiful windows. The kitchen is stocked with cooking equipment. The water is hot. The owners are responsive and accommodating. The location is a nice walk to uptown shops and stores.

A very nice studio with very nice people. A great place to temporarily call home.

The property was exactly as described, clean, quiet, and well equipped. The location was good for walking or a short drive to town.Barbara and Betsy were helpful and available for whatever we needed. We definitely would recommend their property to others.

We stayed here for a month this winter and enjoyed it thoroughly. The cottage is nicely designed, well-appointed and spotlessly clean. After just a few days, we were referring to it as "home." Barbara and Betsy are very professional hosts, and strike an ideal balance -- being available if there is a need but giving their guests space and privacy. (We've been in other vacation rentals where the owners feel like an ever-present force.)
The location of this place is ideal. We would walk each morning to Fort Worden State Park, just a few minutes away, for walks to the bluffs, the lighthouse, the beach, etc. If so inclined be sure to walk to Taps at the Guardhouse at happy hour -- fun! The cottage is convenient to Port Townsend's grocery stores, the Rose Theatre, etc., but is also comfortably removed from the bustle of town.
We hope to return soon.

Everything is convenient and attractive in this small but efficient apartment. The kitchen is well equipped, if you must cook at home and not go to the many, many great restaurants in Port Townsend. The location is an easy, short drive to Uptown or Downtown, and, best of all, a 15 minute walk (or 10 minute bike ride) to the beautiful, historic Fort Worden park. Beautiful quiet beaches--all connected to two other local beaches. Wonderful walks, birds, interesting things to see. I walked through the forest to the beach each day, stopping for coffee at the Ft. Worden Cafe. The Port Townsend Marine Science Center is on the wharf, and worthy of more than one visit.
The neighborhood is very quiet and one can manage a peaceful stay here. Barbara is there but not so much--it is a peaceful co-existence with her guests.

I was lucky enough to stay here for two months! I loved every minute of it and was very sad to leave. The location was perfect, the owners were very nice, and for me personally not having TV was wonderful. Nature is everywhere, the beach is within walking distance, and I really enjoyed the whole area tremendously. I hope to return shortly!!

I spent a month in this comfortable, clean and quiet place, actually felt like home. The hostesses are lovely, present to insure everything is ok for you, but gives you privacy if their intervention is not needed (I lived a storm there, very impressive, they provided me a flashlight :-) )The bed is comfortable, you'll enjoy it, especially after long walks :-)You can also cook if you want it, the kitchen corner allows you to be very independent. But, if you don't have a car (like me) you can find yourself a bit annoyed with the laundry, for it's a bit far in town. One thing could disturb you at the beginning (this is for non-residents, because in Europe we're not used to that) is the noise the fan can make, but you get used to it fast enough :-).No TV (if you are "addicted") and the internet may be slow, you better have your own device.I you are a walker, then you'll enjoy your walk. Every road finishes in the ocean so to speak. In few minutes (max 30) you are at the beach, every direction you'll take, the ocean awaits for you.Nature, colors and smells are just awesome. When the weather don't allow you to go outside, you can enjoy the books that are at your disposal.I can't wait to come back in summer, to be able to enjoy the garden, and for there are many activities that you can do, much more than during the winter.
