About this house rental
Enjoy a variety of day trips while staying with us! Visitors come from all over the world to see the giant sequoias at the Sequoia National Park. The Sierra Nevada mountain range offers beautifully-groomed ski slopes and numerous hiking trails. The Central California Coastline is widely thought of as the most beautiful part of the long California coastline. Or, visit Paso Robles to see over 26,000 acres of vineyards, nearly 200 wineries, and more than 100 tasting rooms a short drive away.
Not only is the Historical Downtown District full of unique shops and all sorts of restaurants, but Visalia boasts THREE 5 star elegant restaurants that are a destination for people from throughout Central California. There is usually sufficient free parking downtown if you choose not to walk. Throughout downtown, there is a free trolley service. You will need a car for day trips to Sequoia National Park, the Central Pacific Coast, and the wineries in the Paso Robles area.
The home is in the Beverly Glen neighborhood of Visalia. This is a very desirable, established, neighborhood with tree-lined streets and custom homes displaying styles ranging from Frank Loyd Wright to traditional brick 2 story homes. Yet, you will be less than 1 mile from downtown and the Convention Center and 1.1 miles from Kaweah Delta Hospital.
This property has been featured on the Garden Tour by the Garden Club, twice! One year for the lushly planted backyard and outdoor living space. And another year for the unique use of hardscape and drought-tolerant plants to create the beautiful front yard landscape.
Follow the path through the front yard past the boulders, dry creek bed, and desert-scape landscape design. There is another patio space here as you make your way up to the covered porch, that leads to the front door. Elegant landscape lighting adds ambiance to the front and the back landscaping and living spaces.
Step inside and you will see that this charming house was built about 1940, and has a lot of character to show for it! I purchased the home in 2009 and completed the renovation in 2012. The home is beautifully decorated in a contemporary-CA style. This is not just a basic suburban house in a basic suburban neighborhood. The thought, effort, and money that went into the decor is evident. You will feel like you are truly on vacation here!
Inside, you will find:
Updated kitchen with gas range. There is barstool seating for 2 plus separate dining room seats 6 comfortably. Living room has seating for 8, a flat screen TV, and a fireplace-flame surrounded by glass beads at the touch of a button. The fireplace will warm the living areas if you prefer that to the central heat. The air conditioner is new and cools the house to your comfort level.
The home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. The master bedroom has a king bed, the other two bedrooms have queen beds, and there is a futon in the large living room. The home easily sleeps 8 people. There are ceiling fans in all of the bedrooms and also the living room. All bedrooms have some of the most comfortable mattresses you will sleep on- see the reviews of this property! One bath has tub and shower, 2nd bath has shower only.
Laundry room in the house. Coffee, a variety of tea bags, and filtered water in the fridge door. We boast a great deal of kitchen staples such as spices, cooking oil, sandwich spreads and more.
The backyard features a hot tub, built-in fire pit, large waterfall and Koi pond with beautiful professionally done landscaping. The back yard is entirely patio surrounded by landscaping, rather than a grassy lawn.
The covered patio area has a functional outdoor kitchen and an outdoor dining table which seats 6. The remainder of the patio is covered with 2 large umbrellas, so that nearly the entire backyard is shaded. This allows for use of the backyard throughout the summer.
But there is more...! This outdoor living space features a very large water feature with a waterfall and a Koi Pond. There is also a built-in gas fire pit and large comfortable seating area. The large, crystal-clear water, hot tub has room for 6 adults.
In the summer, you will appreciate the coolness of the shade from the large trees, covered patios, and the water feature. The hot tub may be kept cool and guests often use it in the summer as a relaxing way to cool off.
In the winter, after your warm soak in the hot tub, enjoy relaxing by the fire pit with your family and friends. It will keep you comfortably warm even on cold winter nights.
There is a garden apartment on the other side of the garage from this house. The apartment has its own courtyard and shares only the driveway with this house. If you are interested in booking both the house and the apartment, which would sleep 14 people, please use this link:

Having previously lived in Visalia, I was very specific about the area where I wanted to stay—this home checked all the boxes! First, the property itself is lovely. It’s got a gorgeous front and back yard, and is surrounded by really nice homes and a totally walkable neighborhood. It’s about a five minute drive from downtown and all the great little places to eat and shop. The hot tub, koi pond, built in BBQ, waterfall and fire pit in the back yard are a lovely touch.
Inside, you’ve got plenty of room to spread out. The bedrooms provide ample separation for privacy and the backyard access from one of the rooms is especially helpful if you are bringing a pet. Lisa, the property manager, did a great job communicating with us up to & during our stay and the home was clean and ready when we arrived. We’d definitely try to stay again if we need to return to Visalia!

Had a great stay, but was surprised to find out the garage was made into an apartment that overlooked the backyard and hot tub and was occupied during our stay. The listing did say there was an apartment on the other side of the garage, but we thought that meant not directly connected. It appeared the garage was made into an apartment.
Another thing that was stated in the listing that we missed was the air conditioning is set to not go below 74. It is listed, but you do need to be aware.
Besides those two things which are misunderstanding of the listing, Lisa was a great host and the location is wonderful.

Perfect house for our group of 4 in town for a wedding. House was clean, location good and check-in/out a breeze. Nice courtyards and patio. Great rental experience!

My mom and I had a wonderful stay at the house. The indoor and outdoor fireplaces were a great part of our time there. The house was cozy and comfortable and we felt very much at home. We especially loved the backyard with the string lights, fountain and fire pit. We will always remember our special days there.

I would have 5 star reviews all the way around, if my family didn’t have to wait 4 hours to check in because the house wasn’t clean.

Good home to rent for a family vacation. Clean, nice area, cozy, and an all around nice stay.

Nice place!
The property was easy to find. Nice location and a very quiet neighborhood.
The pros: This is a nice place to unwind after a long day of being at the Sequoia National Park. Again, it is a nice and quiet neighborhood. I also like the fact that it was close to downtown so I can get my morning coffee. The host was great to work with. I was looking all over for trash bags and was not able to find any and Lisa took care of that right away after she read my message.
The cons: My boys wanted to get into the hot tub, but the smell of chlorine was a bit overpowering so I told them no. They also wanted to feed the koi fish in the pond, but we were not able to find any fish food underneath the grill cabinet outside. The day before we checked out, we realized at 10 PM that we were down to one roll of toilet paper. Oh my... I didn't want to message Lisa being that it was late already and we were leaving at 6 AM the next morning. We were able to make it so I guess that's all that matters. If I was staying longer, of course, I would have messaged her.
All in all, yes, I would stay here again with my family.

Great place to stay
The property is well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the future. Lisa has been a great host and was very prompt in responding to questions. It is not very far from Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. It is very close to the shopping areas. We were also able to take advantage of Farmer's market which is also very close to the property.

Perfect recharge after camping
Spent a great 3 nights after camping in Sequoia and Kings Canyon NPs. Perfect size for our family of 4 with everyone getting their own room but would easily accommodate 3 couples (4 if one sleeps on the futon in the living room). Owners were responsive with ques Front porch and backyard were both super relaxing. Would definitely stay again if we're in the area.

Very nice property
The property was clean and exactly as described. Check in and instructions were great. We didn’t use the hot tub or outdoor kitchen, but everything looked great. We had a great time in the area.

Extended trip after family wedding
We started our trip in San Marcos for a wedding that was suppose to happen in 2020. This was our first 2 night stop with plans to go to Sequoia National Park / Kings Canyon. Unfortunately they just both closed due to the fires. Kings Canyon did let us in to view the General Grant tree but any further into the park was at your own risk. So we took a drive out to Fresno to the Underground Gardens. It wasn't far and was interesting. This Vasalia home is beautiful with wonderful outdoor setting that we unfortunately didn't get to enjoy with our short stay.
Thank you Lisa for sharing your home.

Stayed here for the weekend
My friends and I came to town for the weekend and stayed here. The house was beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for our family and guests. Really loved the outdoor kitchen and hot tub! Lisa responded quickly to anything we needed. Great place and would stay here again.

Wonderful “base camp”
Wonderful owner and perfect property for our National Park tour. Home and backyard were very nice retreats after a good day hiking in the parks. Location is off a main road, but still a great place to call home for our trip

In Town for a Wedding
We were in town for my son's wedding. The property is beautiful and just as pictured. A wonderful place to relax (when we could, LOL) and plenty of room for our family to get ready for wedding fun. We even had the photographer shoot the Groom/Groomsmen pics there- such a nice setting! Hosts are communicative and helpful. Lots of little touches to make the stay a true home away from home. Plus Dutch Bros coffee just a couple of blocks away! Loved it- We would definitely stay there again.

Didn't enjoy our stay
The house was very nice and clean. But at night the house made a lot of weird noises. Door knobs shaking and loud foot steps. When we questioned the homes history to the property manager. She deciclined to respond. We cut our trip short and left one night early.

1) We paid an extra $50 to check in at 2pm instead of 4pm. We were not able to enter the property until 2:30.2) There is a garden house on the property that is rented out and those guests came into the back yard telling us it was a shared space. This was very upsetting as we would have never rented out a shared space with COVID. I later spoke to the hospitality coordinator who said the guests were not supposed to share the space but it had obviously not been properly explained to them.3) we received a stern voicemail telling us that there was a “big problem” because we were only supposed to have one dog (we had 3) and they were only allowing us to stay “to be nice” and not to ruin our holiday. The add only said “pets” allowed and never gave any restrictions. The voicemail also said our dogs were “trampling the plants” which was incorrect. And who knows how they would have observed this because this message was before we checked out. This message was very disheartening.4) The grill only got to 120 degrees. We did not contact management because we didn’t want to have to deal with people coming to fix it on Thanksgiving.5) The TV was very hard to figure out and we had to log into our own service to watch live TV (football)Overall it’s a nice property but being scolded about the dogs was the worst.

Visalia gem
This is a great rental. Well appointed, nice decor, a very cozy house. The beds are very comfy. Has wifi, access to tv channels. The front yard is very nice, but the back yard is a home run. A fire pit, hot tub, and outdoor kitchen make it a perfect place to hang out. We will be back.

The Perfect Place!!!!
A fantastic and very special stay! The house could not have been more perfect! We gathered for a family wedding and having this house made the stay so very, very special. The outdoor space, gathering around the fire pit sharing stories made our trip, though short so very special! The house is lovely. Plenty of room, nice comfortable beds. As presented in pictures, but better! 5++++ Stars! Thank you Lisa for providing the perfect special for a very special gathering!

We will be back!
This is a lovely property. Spacious and clean. And coming from a clean freak myself, I appreciate that. This house had plenty of towels and all the necessities. The backyard was my favorite part. Even though it’s too hot out right now to utilize the hot tub and fire pit, they are a nice addition. We are looking forward to returning. Lisa is a wonderful host who returned emails nearly immediately. Close drive to the Sequoia National Park.

Lisa- this home fit our needs exactly. You thought of everything possible to make it homey and comfortable. Plenty of space to spread out, relax and enjoy our short stay in Visalia. I am certainly going to recommend it to others! Having the remodeled garage apartment next door for us helped us have additional sleeping and bathroom. 5 star experience!

Everything was great!
We really enjoyed our stay, Lisa has set up this home beautifuly.
Aside from all the nice decorative touches, the house has everything one could possibly need.
Our one nitpick would be that the studio apartment which is located on the same property has windows overlooking the firepit and backyard kitchen and hot tub.
Other than that it was amazing!
Lives up to all the other reviews.

Our vacation centered around visiting Sequoia and this home was perfectly located. Communication with Lisa prior to our stay was fantastic and she checked in with us the day of our arrival to make sure we had everything we needed......we did! Home is stocked/equipped with all necessities and more. We spent our days hiking, horseback riding, river rafting and the home was just what we needed to relax after long fun-filled days. Especially enjoyed the back patio with the jacuzzi and fire pit......four adults sitting around the fire making s’mores for the first time in years! Loved it! On our “take it easy” day we went to see a movie and enjoyed shopping at the outlet stores in Tulare only 20 minutes away. It was an awesome vacation... we had such a great time and would definitely stay again! Thank you Lisa!
