My family had a great week of fun in the sun at this quaint cottage on the bay. The house has everything you need to play (kayaks, games, floats) and everything you need if you just want to relax (a beautiful beach, deck and fire pit). Thank you for letting us stay at your little slice of heaven!

We spent 2 weeks at this charming cottage on Sutton’s Bay and loved every minute! When we weren’t lounging on the deck or enjoying the beach and lake- we were walking to town for shopping/dinner, playing pickleball on the public courts nearby, taking a bike tour through the local wineries or taking long walks on the TART trail. This cottage is close to all of it! It is very comfortable, clean and well stocked and the owner was a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely rent this cottage again!

After a very long travel day, we were so happy to arrive at this wonderful cottage. The owners provided everything we needed for a relaxing week. It's really hard to describe how beautiful the location is on Suttons Bay...can't be beat!!! You can actually watch the sunrise and the sunset...gorgeous! We had the opportunity to explore the area (Northport, Leland, Glen Arbor, and Sleeping Bear Dunes) but mostly just wanted to hang out at the cottage to swim, kayak, and rest. Would love to come back some day.

We had a wonderful time at Windrush and look forward to returning! The cottage was immaculate and beautifully decorated with lots of personal touches by the owners. It was interesting to see pictures of the cottage when it was first built and how it has evolved over the years. It
It’s obvious how important the cottage is to the owners by how beautifully maintained it is!
The cottage was well-stocked with everything we needed, plus there were some additional items for our use like kayaks and bikes.
The owners, Rick and Karin, were always readily available to answer any questions we had and did so promptly! They were great! We highly recommend Windrush to anyone looking for a Sutton’s Bay waterfront rental!

Windrush is truly an ideal place to spend a week. It was perfectly comfortable and accommodating for my wife and I, and her parents. The back deck practically sits in the waters of Suttons Bay and offers a beautiful, unobstructed view of the bay. The ample seating options are very comfortable for reading, happy hour, or a nap! The owner is very kind and communicative.

The location was fantastic. We loved the deck, the dock and the beach.
We enjoy cooking meals and found the kitchen to be a bit disorganized and we’re glad we brought some of our own kitchen tools.
The main shower was wonderful; the library bathroom would be nicer if updated.
Rick and Karin were extremely responsive to our queries. It was a very relaxing vacation place.

AMAZING DOCK AND VIEWS
Nestled in Sutton's Bay cove, on the water, we enjoyed calling this our little home for a week. We are a family of four, children are 20 and 17. We absolutely loved the dock and whenever at home that was our first choice to be. Watching the sunrise and the sunset everyday was our favorite thing to do. The home has a new, comfy couch that we enjoyed inside while we kept our eye on the Wimbledon matches, movie one night and card games another night. The showers have good water pressure. The inside of the home has had improvements but not all of it. It felt very cozy inside so the limit of 4-5 guests is crucial in the home. We appreciated the kayaks on the property and enjoyed them quite a bit. Karin was very responsive to questions about activities in the area and we really appreciated her communication. Rental bikes from Sutton Bay Bikes took us to Traverse City one day. Tennis many mornings and evenings at Herman Park, Sleeping Bear Dunes, lunch at The Farm Club and enjoyed Sutton Bay town (lunches, shops, coffee) and other small towns in the area. It was a great vacation.

Wonderful location on Suttons Bay
This was our second time staying at this property, and we really do love it. The location is perfect. It is walking distance to the town of Suttons Bay and the Leelanau Bike Trail. It is close to Traverse City and the many fun towns on the Leelanau Peninsula. The property itself, with the deck overlooking Suttons Bay is just beautiful. The home is clean, functional, and well decorated. We loved our time there.

Beach and walking distance to the downtown
We loved our stay in Sutton’s Bay! My younger two children played in the sandy beach every morning. The kayaks were a treat too. Lots of living area inside and deck outside. We walked up the the coffee shop most mornings and enjoyed the delicious dinner restaurants as well.

Wonderful location on Suttons Bay
We had a wonderful stay in this home right on Suttons Bay. The location is perfect. We could ride our bikes or walk into town or to the grocery store. The home and deck are right on the water with a little beach area and a great dock. We loved sitting on the comfortable deck furniture and enjoying the spectacular views of the bay. We used the kayaks and enjoyed our time out on the water. The home is cute and well stocked with dishes, etc. We loved waking up in the morning to the sound of the water and looking out over the bay right away. We enjoyed many beautiful bike rides right out the door and along the roads and along the fantastic Leelanau Trail that goes all the way to Traverse City. The town has nice shops and several great restaurants. Thank you for sharing your special spot with us!

Perfect Sutton’s Bay Location!
Simply a lovely property! It is just as pictured and certainly one of the best rentals we’ve had in years of vacationing along Lake Michigan. The location is peaceful yet close to great restaurants, shops, beaches and local sights. Highly recommend.

Sutton’s Bay Relaxation
Wonderful long weekend of fall colors, surprisingly good local wines and hard ciders, and watching the sunsets from the dock. Great location removed from main road. Quick trip to the local grocery store and “downtown” Sutton’s Bay. Several nice restaurants in town. A few establishments closed for the season (in mid-October). Property owners were very responsive when needed for our minor requests. Easy check in and check out.

Absolutely Beautiful
We had a wonderful stay--everything about this home was as advertised. The property was beautiful and the location was perfect--just a short walk to downtown Suttons Bay while still getting to enjoy a location directly on the bay. The property owner was very helpful and was very quick to reply to questions. We highly recommend Windrush!

Perfect place to relax!
Windrush is a fantastic property right on Lake Michigan, and is the perfect place to unwind. The view of the lake is incredible, the house is very well-equipped and there is plenty to do in the vicinity (good restaurants, Sleeping Bear Dunes, breweries/cider producers etc.) if you can dig yourself away from the back deck. In addition, Karin and Rick were a pleasure to deal with; communication was fast and easy, and they were very helpful if we had any questions. I very highly recommend this beautiful home, and I won't hesitate to stay here again - many thanks to Karin and Rick for their wonderful hospitality!

Sutton's Bay Gem
This house is a wonderful property which faces the bay and has a great deck and pier for activities, meals and relaxation. We have visited the Traverse City many times and this is the best property at which we have vacationed. The house is clean, cozy and complete with all the utilities that make it quite easy. Everything you need is close and is of high quality. You would not be disappointed!

A perfect week in Northern Michigan!
This beautiful property and its kind and generous owners exceeded our already high expectations! This cottage was spotless upon our arrival and perfectly decorated. We spent most of our time on the back deck, enjoying the water and the kayaks. The gorgeous view accompanied all of our meals and provided much needed rest and rejuvenation. Our kids enjoyed playing Legos and reading in the loft, and we appreciated special touches like life jackets for the kids, historical photos of the cottage, and friendly waves from the neighbors. The cottage's location is perfectly situated between downtown Suttons Bay and the TART bike trail, as well as nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Fishtown, and Mission Peninsula. We were enchanted by this lovely cottage and look forward to returning as soon as possible!

Great experience
This cottage offers a panoramic view of the bay, with stunning colors at sunrise and sunset. The whole place felt like a quinessential Northern Michigan cottage -- cozy and quaint. The layout was a little quirky as the cottage has been expanded and remodeled from its original smaller size, and the kitchen was a little tricky to navigate if you like to cook at home because the refrigerator and some appliances are in a nearby, but separate pantry. Yet we enjoyed having one bedroom and bath separate, in a remodeled garage space where our daughter and her husband slept (we called it our "son-in-law suite"). The owners are gracious and helpful -- we didn't even realize that they live right next door, because they gave us total privacy. It was perfect for us as adults and our young-adult children. Might be tough if you have small kids because the high lake levels in recent years have eliminated the sandy beach (you step off the dock stairs into about 3 ft of water), so there's not a place to play in the sand unless you go down the street to a public park (which looks nice). But if you love looking at or being in the water, it's amazing. Will definitely return.

Fantastic week at Sutton's Bay
We had such a wonderful time at this beautiful Sutton's Bay cottage. The property was perfect for our needs. Our family of four traveled with my mom and the library bedroom was just right for her. Our kids age 2.5 and 5 loved playing on the large deck by the water and playing on the sandy beach as well. We kayaked down to the park a few times so they could swing and took day trips to Leland and Traverse City as well. The owners communicated well with us prior to, during and after our stay. Karin even shipped me my hat that I had accidentally left behind. Highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful views of the Bay
Our family had a wonderful time here. The beach was almost gone due to high water and the owners warn us know this a week before we arrived. But we were still surprised at how much beach was actually gone. The house is in a great location to Sutton’s Bay. The internet is almost nonexistent unless you are in the living room. But all in all we had a great time.
