The Mountain House: Luxurious 4-Bedroom Mountain Getaway with Spectacular Views!
Experience the ultimate mountain retreat at "The Mountain House," a stunning 4-bedroom, 3 full bath, and 2 half bath home designed for those with the most discerning tastes. This property features a large wrap-around deck with a HOT TUB, perfect for soaking in the breathtaking views. Inside, enjoy hours of entertainment with a pool table and foosball table. The home is equipped with 2 king beds, a queen bed, and a set of single beds, all complemented by central heat and air conditioning for year-round comfort. The open fireplace adds a cozy touch to the spacious living areas.
For your entertainment, there are 3 TVs with cable offering tons of channels—one in the main living room, one in the bonus room on the lower level, and one in the master bedroom. Located on a ridge just 5 minutes from the Waynesville Country Club, this home offers both convenience and seclusion. Please note, there is no landline phone service, so be sure to bring your cell phone. The property also features exterior security cameras for your safety.
Pet Policy:
A well-behaved dog under 20lbs may be allowed with prior owner approval. Dogs must be crated when left alone and are not permitted on beds or furniture. To maintain the cleanliness of the home, provided towels and linens are not for pet use. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in additional cleaning fees. A non-refundable pet fee of $150 is required prior to arrival. If you wish to bring more than one dog, prior approval is necessary, and an additional pet fee will be requested after the reservation is confirmed.

Delightful property. Up the mountain yet still close to town. Loved drinking coffee and watching the fog in the valley come and go. Keep an eye open for a mama bear and three cubs!

Lovely home with beautiful view, well stocked kitchen - we had a great time in Waynesville, and even got to see a mama bear and cub by the driveway! That being said there were a few areas that would have made it five star…the gas grill was dirty and out of gas, there were only two usable pool cues the others were missing tips, the fireplace downstairs would not stay lit, I think it may have been out of gas? There is construction on a lot below this house, so there was that construction noise M-F and it was a bit of an eye sore so we tried to take our pictures from an angle without it, but not a lot owners can do about that but it did affect our enjoyment of the porch/view. The last night we were there the neighbors with the locked gate were having a get together and were loud enough that we just went inside since it made it hard to enjoy the porch and nature. We did get a lot of joke mileage about having to supply our own TP…overall nice house.

This home was at the top of a mountain. It had stunning views of the valley below as well as of other mountains. The house itself was large. It could sleep 3 couples and two others. It was in great condition. The drive up the mountain was intimidating to some in the group. But the view made is. worthwhile. I highly recommend the house.

The property was perfect for a large group. The kitchen could have used more drinking glasses, there was only a mishmash of small glasses for water. The kitchen was easy to prepare meals in. The livingroom was a nice gathering place for conversation and building a warm fire. The views are amazing! The game area and hot tub are added bonuses! Beware of the steep road getting up to the property. If the road is icy, I would be afraid to drive down from the house. I would rent this property again without question!

The property is beautiful and has great views. My only critique is that the downstairs bedroom needs some TLC especially a new mattress. Our family enjoyed our stay overall. We made memories that will last forever.

Gorgeous mountain home with full amenities and view! Spacious enough for my husband and I and 2 adult children and their spouses, plus family dog. Close to Pisgah National Forest where we hiked a total of 24 miles over Memorial Day weekend - enjoyed the hot tub. Kitchen was large enough for us to make meals together. Precious memories were made sitting on the porch looking a mountains talking, playing guitars & piano ( available at house), and family meals around the large table. I would recommend to groups of 6 or more people.

House was in a nice area and had a nice set up. The half bath in the bedroom upstairs was a nice little plus! Be aware-in bad weather you WILL need 4 wheel drive (the road up is VERY steep with lots of twists and turns). Kitchen could have used some more cooking utensils. We had to buy some spatulas and spoons (cooking for 7). A “check-in” binder with WiFi info and whatnot would have been nice-we had to reach out for the info after arriving. Also, being made aware ahead of time about the extra charge for trash would have been nice. Need to make that more obvious in the listing. It wasn’t a big deal, it was just frustrating to find that out when we arrived (as we were celebrating a family Christmas with 8 people, so we had A LOT of trash). Also, some of the sheets were a bit scratchy/hard, and we could have used a few more throw blankets upstairs as it got cold! Also, be aware that there were no blinds/curtains in the windows, so the mornings were early and bright.
We loved the hot tub, the pool table and the view! House was also very close to a nice Walmart for last min shopping, and a few other stores.

The house is in a great location with a wonderful view. We enjoyed our stay and the local area. We had 6 adults 60+. My wife and I stayed in the lower level bedroom. The mattress had some sort of protective cover that crinkled and made noise every time you moved and the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. The bottom sheet kept coming off the bed leaving you on that mattress cover. We didn’t sleep well. One of the common comments by our group was that the furniture wasn’t really comfortable. The couch and love seat wasn’t bad but it was very slippery. Kitchen was good and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the game room, played pool and foosball.

Beautiful views!
Our party of 7+ (6 adults, 1 child and a beagle) really enjoyed this property. The views are spectacular. The listing was very accurate. The kitchen is well appointed. The location is a short trip into town. The master suite is very spacious. The basement bedroom, while nicely appointed with a bathroom, is not spacious. The stairs to get into the house are no joke. The outside stairs are not really needed because you go in and out of the house through the basement - which was nice when it was raining. But, the stairs from the basement to the main floor are not senior citizen friendly - something to note if you are traveling with grandparents. The only trouble we had with the property was arrival. We did not receive the code to the garage which is the only way into the house using the door code which is provided. We had a friendly black snake try to make it's way through the garage into the basement but we shooed him away. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay and Waynesville is very nice.

Great house, awesome view
Rented the house for a group of friends on a motorcycle trip. House was as described. Very comfortable and plenty of room for our group. The view from the 2 decks is simple amazing. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. For any motorcyclists thinking of renting for your group this would be a great place, but be aware that the road up to the house is windy and steep. The driveway itself is mostly flat and use of the garage is a great benefit.

They answered all my questions and were very accommodating when we were forced to check in a day later than anticipated. I was even emailed an adorable picture of a mama bear and two cubs before arrival to let us know we should be careful with the dogs outside. (We did get to see the bears a little ways down the hill!)

Fantastic Location for Motorcycle Rides
This house was PERFECT! The location was perfect...we could do ALL the great area rides within a day of the house. The view was incredible...most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Get Away
We wanted to be able to meet our son and family during the Covid crisis without flying. He came from MA and we from FL for a perfect get away. The house is spacious with extraordinary views and wonderful porches. You are up in the clouds yet still convenient for groceries etc. We enjoyed hiking and picnics during the day and playing pool at night. Great house!

This property is located in a beautiful location. We rented during the summer, and I can imagine the beauty during the other seasons. Driving up to the house could be difficult during the winter in certain instances. The house provided plenty of space for our 7 guests and is capable of accommodating more. I highly recommend booking this home for your vacation needs!

We are a group of women who enjoy a week of hiking and kayaking each summer. This year we selected Waynesville and the Ridgewood Estate home with a fantastic view. We enjoyed the home and especially the view from the two front porches. It's a great house for gathering and we enjoyed the area around Waynesville.

Living in Charleston, SC on flat ground, I was at first afraid of the top of the mountain. After the first ride up, I loved the scen. Watching the 4th of July fireworks was great from the porch. We also enjoyed breakfast or supper on the porch. Great week.
