Kids love it! This secluded mountain lodge lets your group enjoy fishing, hiking, swimming, kayaks, and relaxation - all without leaving the property! You'll be close to white water rafting, rock climbing, and skiing in winter, but once you settle into this 80-acre estate, you won't want to leave.
Maple Fork Lodge has beds for up to twenty-six people, with floor space for the kids! A spacious kitchen and dining area, tastefully decorated great room, ample entertainment room with sixty-inch HD television, High-speed wireless internet throughout the home, a business center and library, and best of all, several ponds, the largest of which is just over an acre - all stocked with fish! The kids will love splashing into the pond from our 18-foot rope swing and paddling around in the provided flat-top kayaks. We will welcome up to two pets per reservation.

Great for large group. Tons of space but challenging to work out the sleeping arrangements. The downstairs bedrooms were not as desirable. But then again, we ARE supposed to be camping! Lol! All in all a wonderful weekend trip with enough room to accommodate our growing families.

My family enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for the 20+ of us. The kids loved the tree swing and the pond. Unfortunately, the first day of our trip the lawn service was mowing so we had to move the toys and our set-up outside several times. Family Christmas/New Years Celebration. This Cabin had everything we needed. Plenty of space for our big family of 18. Beautiful spacious and absolutely gorgeous views. If this place had a hot tub it would be perfect but otherwise it was amazing. Can’t say enough about it and the host. Great cabin!!!

We had a great time! The kids loved the lake. Extra little amenities were appreciated. We had an amazing caterer (friend of the hosts). Close enough to attractions. I would let people know about the area as you approach the house--we though we were in the wrong place. The property and house (to quote by 7-year old grandson) were very satisfying.

This proved to be a perfect setting for our large church youth group high adventure. With ample sleeping space, campfire for fireside chats, swimming/rope swing into the small lake, fishing and kayaking, this was a hit with the boys.

It's taken a couple weeks for me to write this...was having trouble finding the perfect words to describe this perfect place. They delivered everything that was promised...a clean, well-stocked, space for the eleven of us, aged 1-83, to relax.
The kids walked in, immediately named the taxidermy, ran outside to pick apples for the goats, and discovered the pond with the rope swing...this was just in the first hour of our week stay. Later, they were doing flips from the rope swing, kayaked, fished, hiked to pick blackberries, and continued to enjoy mama goat and her kids.
The location put us within 20-30 minutes from most access points to the New River Gorge National Park. White-water rafting, mountain biking, hiking, and the Bridge Walk were a few must-do activities that we enjoyed. We even enjoy and supported the Tamarack Marketplace for an air-conditioned indoor activity.
Richard, the grounds keeper, could not have been more accessible and friendly. He made us feel like we were part of the family. He also had a wealth of information about the area and activities.

50th Celebration
We had a wonderful weekend. 28 of us from around the country played in the yard, rocked on the porches, prepared meals, caught up with each other’s lives. Plenty of room for group activities, lots of comfy seating, enough bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. The kids enjoyed the loft sleeping, adults the comfy bedrooms. The goats were a bonus. Perfect for our family ages 8 to 71!

Great Thanksgiving/Wedding getaway
Our week at Maple Fork Lodge was amazing. Very relaxing with plenty of room for all the family to stay. We had 27 in total stay the week. The kids loved the yard, goats and games. Chuck and Connie were great in the booking process with answering any questions quickly. Richard the care taker was friendly and very helpful. I think we all fell in love with Marley too. She is such a sweet old dog. We definitely are thinking about coming back.

60th Surprise Getaway
We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Maple Fork Lodge. The property was so fun to explore with walking trails, ponds, and the fire pit. The cabin was clean and just perfect for our large group. The friendly goats and farm dog Marley were loved by both adults and kids. In addition, the property caretaker was incredibly attentive and quick to assist when needed. Highly recommend!

A week with the goats
The house and property were well cared for. The amenities they promised were there - in our case, baby hates and booster seats. There was an indoor dining table that would accommodate ten people and several outdoor areas with rocking chairs, a swing, comfortable lounge chairs, a round table with four chairs, and a fire pit. There was a grill adjacent to the kitchen that would cook hamburgers and hotdogs, but there was no large outdoor table. The peacefulness of the woods and fields provided the rest and relaxation we desired. Several of us took advantage of the dock at the one pond and hiked the trails. The goats were of constant interest, escaping from their fenced-in area one day, to the delight of everyone.
The primary complaint had to do with the air conditioning. The unit was not set up to accommodate so many different areas. The master bedroom/bath and the study, first floor bathroom were too cold, and when the thermostats were adjusted to suit those on the first floor, the bedrooms and bath upstairs were too warm. The caretaker was pleasant and cooperative, calling the owners and a repairman, but the problem was not remedied during our stay.
There’s one other point that the advertising for the house might mention: there are elk, moose, and deer heads mounted on the walls, as well as a fox skin. The biggest surprise for us was the full sized black bear stuffed and standing in one corner. We were anxious about the reaction to the bear of the toddler who was with us, but the small dog was the first to object. He was ready to take on the “intruder.” We ended up carefully placing a coverlet over the bear so that the little dog could get some rest.

Mount Hope Cabin
We loved it here. We were most impressed by the fully stocked kitchen! It had everything we could need. We enjoyed s’mores by the fire pit, the fishing was fun on both of the stocked ponds and the kids really enjoyed the rope swing!
I was personally a fan of the soaking tub after a long day white water rafting. I would recommend staying at this place. It’s conveniently located to adventure and the “coolest small town” Fayetteville and it’s just a super cozy cabin despite its massive size which suited our four different families at once perfectly! Thanks so much!

Thanksgiving 2020
With all the things going on our world this year, these few days in Mt. Hope was exactly what our family needed. We enjoyed time together, hiked, had a bonfire in the evening and had an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving. Marley was the sweetest non-human in the house. Home Away From Home~
The House and Property were exactly suited to our lifestyle, we have a large very active family. There was plenty of privacy and space for everyone, the kitchen accommodated us perfectly, and there was no lack of things to do for us all! The property was clean, beautiful and full of fun things to keep our entire family busy together. The ponds, the rope to swing out over the water, the canoes, fishing, the goats, the playset for the little ones, trails, and a large wrap around deck that faced the fire pit for relaxing in the evening together. My family loved our stay and will always remember this trip and cherish the memories!! I also personally enjoyed getting to know the family through the home decor, library, piano, and overall comfort of the cabin. A bonus was the sweetest Welcoming committee, A dog named Marley who was waiting for us, tail wagging when we arrived:-) she continued to be our little buddy the entire time, So cute!! The little Ones loved her!! The management was so very kind and made sure we were all happy and they were readily available if we needed anything at all. Perfect escape from Covid
After several months hunkering at home in 2020, we planned our escape for a week’s vacation with friends to a remote location (having quarantined and got tested prior to arrival). Our group consisted of 4 families from 2 metro areas who met primarily to play irish music together. The cabin and location reminded us all of Ireland, and we felt right at home. We had lots of room for our families to spread out and have privacy. The great room and back porch became our favorite spots to sit and play music. The piano was never silent! The ponds were an added bonus with fishing kayaking and swimming becoming a daily event for all. The goats, dogs and puppies kept all entertained. Chuck and Connie were very helpful during booking times and are blessed to have an amazing property manager. Richard was extremely responsive, and personable, and fit right into our session with his guitar and songs! He and his family were extremely kind, thank you so much again. We appreciated this amazing haven which rejuvenated our musical souls in such an uncertain time. We will definitely revisit the property in the future, hopefully with a larger group of our students for a music exchange between the two groups. Thanks again for sharing your home with us.

We had an incredible trip and the cabin was exactly the space we needed for our church youth group! The cabin was very spacious, and the kitchen was well stocked with items needed for cooking in with a large group. The host was extremely helpful with any needs we had! Very clean and had a great cozy cabin feel. We will definitely stay here again!

Thanksgiving Family Getaway
This is an amazing house. There was plenty of room for all 19 of us Seems like the kitchen gathering area was the most used, of course. There was plenty of seating and the kitchen layout was great for multiple cooks/dishwashers. We had everything we needed to build a Thanksgiving feast.
We made plenty of use of the whole property. Fished a little, Hiked. And loved the fire pit.
We took plenty of hikes, too, in the nearby national forest. Would recommend Kaymoor Miners Trail... 800-some steps down to an abandoned mine. And then, back up. Made several rock climbing trips, too. Best climbing anywhere!

Good choice
Accommodated many people very well. Had a lot of space and several things on the property outside to do. The process of booking the place was smooth. The owner very polite. The place was clean, however I’m a clean freak so little things like under the couches could be improved. But my cleaning standards are extremely high so I’m sure others would not blink an eye at it. The area the place is located in is not what I envisioned. There are several run down trailers on the way there but once you’re in the property, you’re away from that. There was plenty of wood for a fire and the pond is beautiful. There is a lot of opportunity for nice family photos backgrounds. Overall I’d definitely recommend others to go.

Maple Fork Lodge September 2019
We rented the lodge for a large group, with multiple families. The place is excellent, plenty of room, well stocked with supplies, especially the kitchen. We were able to cook large meals and enjoyed doing it in the well stocked kitchen. The weather was beautiful, we enjoyed time inside, and outside, especially the fire pit. The home is large enough to spread out and do multiple activities and have plenty of room. Of course Marley is a treat! She is a wonderful dog, everyone loved her, especially the kids. We already talked about coming back to Maple Fork Lodge, it was a great time!

We LOVED this place!
We brought our church youth group to the area for skiing. We had fifteen in our group and I think we would almost have had as much fun just staying in the house as we did on the slopes. The snow covered cabin was beautiful and we could stay together without being on top of each other. We had a couple of very minor issues but they were addressed promptly and professionally and did not impact our stay at all. As much as we loved the property, I think our favorite thing about it was Marley, the property dog. Marley joined us for breakfast while we were there and I still think some of our kids tried to smuggle her into the van, for the trip home. I’d recommend this place 10 times out of 10. I’m almost positive that we will be back.

A perfect family vacation in the mountains of WV
We decided on this cabin to be the last big vacation with our family. We had 27 people to include 15 kids ages 2-14. The cabin and property did not disappoint. There were so many things to do and places to explore that the kids were never bored. We even brought our side by sides and atvs to enjoy the beautiful mountains. Even though it rained several days the cabin was large enough to spread out and relax. I would highly recommend this cabin to any size group for a nice, relaxing, getaway. The communications with the owner were also very quick and they accommodated everything we needed. Wish we had found this place years ago. It was a great vacation home and hopefully we will be able to visit it again.

Great place for family reunuion
Our family of 19 really enjoyed our time at maple fork lodge. The kids loved swimming and kayaking in the pond and fishing with grandpa was a highlight. The house was spacious and the accommodations were superb. Marley, the dog, was gentle and as the owners warned, when it rained, she tried to get in the house. We would definitely return.

Great space for hosting our reunion of 45 people, 31 of whom spent at least one night. The porch swing and pond were a plus. Marley, the lodge dog and her neighborhood canine friends were enjoyed by all. Our family grew up in southern West Virginia, and we enjoyed being back in those hills. We would definitely stay here again.

Meets the need of a large group.
Most everyone seemed to have a good time. At times it was hard pleasing all with the right temperature, as some wanted warmer and some cooler but with a large group you can't please everyone. Especially since it was the hottest weekend of the year so far. Also, our family has several older members so the amount of stairs was a challengefor them. The space for times of fellowship was good.

Fantastic locale for family get together
This was our second time at Mt Hope and it’s only gotten better. We celebrated a combo 80th birthday and 60th wedding anniversary with 21 people, age 5 and up. There are many good sitting areas for smaller family or age groups to talk, play games or just have a cup of coffee. Also acres to explore. And you have your choice of local highlights from whitewater rafting to historical to nature. We’re already talking about next time.

Great Family Reunion
Atmosphere was wonderful and had plenty of options for fun young and old! Whether you like to fish, hike or just stay on the deck/porch to relax, this 80 acre retreat is great! Since we have 3 generations of police officers and hunters, the gun range was appreciated and utilized. Local area attractions are easily accessible.
