About this house rental
Tidal Ledge has a beautiful and secluded contemporary Atlantic seacoast design that blends perfectly into the Maine landscape. It’s exceptional location offers the quintessential Maine experience.
The main living area boasts floor to ceiling glass windows offering 180 degree views of the ocean. This home is well appointed with everything you expect to find in your own home to include a fully stocked kitchen, luxurious turkish bath towels, and comfortable high thread count sheets. For your convenience a washer and dryer are also available in the home.
The layout makes this house easy to move around with only one floor to include two spacious bedrooms each with a queen size bed, and one spacious bathroom. The house has a large 50 inch flat screen television with full cable and Roku packages, and the wifi maintains a strong signal. For cool nights a beautiful gas log fireplace warms the house. Note: Due to the proximity to the ocean and high decks, Tidal
Ledge is only suited for adults with children aged 16 or older.
Grab your chairs or blanket to walk over to the Frenchman Bay Conservancy sponsored Summer Monday evening concerts that make for a fun evening. These fun concerts are located within walking distance from the house, or you can take in the concert from the comfort of the large back deck.
Tidal Ledge sits next to a nature preserve that highlights some of the most exceptional viewings of Maine wildlife. It is not unusual to frequently see bald eagles, harbor seals and a wide cross section of bird species flying about, all seen from the privacy of the back lawn. At night, sit by the Oceanside fire pit taking in views of the Milky Way. Take a stroll in the morning down to the shoreline with a cup of coffee, and in July and August pick wild blueberries on property for your breakfast pancakes.
If your looking for a nice dinner out, look no further than the 4 star restaurants available in the area. Chippers, Ironbound, and Crocker House Country Inn are all within a short drive away. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are a 20 minute drive, and for shopping essentials Ellsworth is the largest town in Hancock county and is a 10 minute drive away. Hancock Point is located a short distance away. Visit Hancock’s 130 year old library, and take a stroll around the point enjoying views across Frenchman’s Bay to Bar Harbor.

We absolutely loved it here and can’t wait to come back! The house is perfect and the views can’t be topped. We loved sitting out back and watching the tides and wildlife (lots of seals) and both said spending time at the house was a highlight of our vacation!

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, what a wonderful place. The scenery out back is so beautiful, getting to watch the tide go in out is amazing. The place is awesome, just as advertised. I have stayed in a many VRBO's this place has the softest towels ever. The host Tracey was so accommodating to our needs. If you get a chance to go to Maine, make this place one of your stays. We would definitely stay here again.

My small family stayed at this cottage for a getaway to Maine. It was so lovely in every way. The view was stunning and it was so fun to observe the changing tides. There was not a single thing we needed that was not provided. The kitchen was well stocked and the appliances were new functioned perfectly. The location was a bit off the beaten path but that’s want we wanted and driving into Acadia was quick and easy. I would book this place again in a second!

We had a wonderful week staying in this cottage by the water. All pictures are very accurate and so are the descriptions. The owner has thought of absolutely everything to make your stay comfortable and perfect in every way. If ever back in this area, we would want to stay here again! Actually, we really didn’t want to leave! Very happy!

This place is beautiful, well kept, and tranquil. Nearby is Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. You have all the amenities you would ever need and Tracey and her team quickly respond to any and all inquiries. We hope to return to the same place next year.

My husband and I came to Maine for our 30th wedding anniversary. We always dreamed of coming to Maine. We found this place to stay and we were not disappointed! Everything from the towels to the bedsheets to the seats outside were top-of-the-line. Everything was immaculate. The host was warm and gracious. The views were incredible. We had the best week. I highly recommend staying here.

This property was so wonderful! It was perfect for my husband and I. Comfy furniture, cozy fuzzy blankets, a working gas fireplace and a stunning waterfront view. Deer passed through the property most mornings and it was a short drive to Acadia which was in full fall color and was so beautiful for hiking and drives. Most attractions were closed for the season when we went (late Oct) but we found plenty of good food and the weather was perfect for hiking. We loved it here. I reached out to the owner with a question and she was prompt and friendly and actually called instead of messaging through VRBO which i appreciated. I would 100% recommend this property and i would love to come stay here again.

The incredible view off the back porch and the peace and quiet we experienced was just amazing! It’s about 45 minutes from Bar Harbor, but we would definitely choose this over some fancy new condo in the middle of town. The kitchen is well stocked, and the home is very quaint, which was exactly what we were looking for. The host(s) were super super nice and genuinely cared about making our stay the best possible!

Great place to stay to operate out of to visit Acadia National Park...if I had time you would not have enough space for this review...but suffice it to say there is little you could do to make this place any better...and the Tidal Falls was a bonus...wonderful place to stay

Last year we stayed four nights... this year we stayed seven nights. We love this place. It feels like home. The view is outstanding... plenty of windows to bring the outside inside! The hosts invested in good cookware, sharp knives, plenty of towels...a good gas grill! It's all you would want in a home away from home. And a short distance away are wonderful places to bike along the beautiful coast of Maine. This place is easy to love!!!

Our stay at Tidal Ledge was OUTSTANDING! We couldn't have asked for anything better. The house was better then the descriptions clean, comfortable, with everything we needed. Waking up to the beautiful view out the windows was spectacular - even when it was rainy. Tracy couldn't have been a better host. She made us feel welcome and was available to answer questions. We really wished we could have stayed another week or two and hated to leave. If we ever come back to the area we will definitely try to stay at Tidal Ledge.

Tidal Ledge is a wonderful vacation spot. My husband and I just stayed for our second time, and we hope to go back again next summer. The cozy cabin is tucked away in a great location right on the water where you can hear the tidal falls. This year we enjoyed smores on the firepit outside and spent a whole day puzzling while enjoying the serene view. We were only an hour or so away from Acadia, which made it nice and easy to get up and hike. We had a lovely time!

The property was very nice, clean, spacious, and comfortable. The view was just stunning. We had a few of questions (although everything was explained extremely well at the house) for the property owner during our stay regarding places to eat and where to go, and she answered all of our questions very quickly and was kind. My wife and I absolutely loved the property, the view, and the area, so we will definitely be coming back here again in the future! It was such a great experience. Thanks for everything!

in late Sept/early Oct. Location provides good access to Acadia, Deer Island, Bar Harbor and local walking trails. House is equipped with everything, really! Deck is a perfect spot to read a book under a furry blanket (provided). As a city person, I enjoyed the dark and the quiet and view of the tidal falls and associated water birds, eagles and a seal. My one caution for potential renters: glorious deck space is manageable but not ideal for little kids (i.e. <6 years).

Perfect location and home is well appointed with all the comforts of home and more. Beautiful view with nature and wildlife everywhere you look. We saw the fox and the eagle! We will be back! Thanks so much! The Seeley Party

Perfectly peaceful! This home was pristine, comfortable & well equipped. From inside & out we enjoyed the amazing views & wildlife that constantly changed with the tide. Quiet & private yet close to Acadia as well as good food & shopping. We had everything we needed for a most memorable Maine experience.

My husband, son daughter-in-law and I had an amazing time at Tidal Ledge! Tracey was great to deal with and very responsive to any questions we had. We got up a few times between 5-5:30 a.m. to see the tide change which was phenomenal! Breakfast on the deck overlooking the water was a wonderful way to start each day. The house was clean and stocked with everything you could need. We were easily able to drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor to see the beautiful sights. We had an awesome time, but could have used a few more days. Looking forward to returning in the future!

We had a great stay at Tidal Ledge. This cottage has everything you need for a pleasant getaway. We have stayed at several rental properties but this topped them all with respect to kitchenware, appliances, linens, towels and comfortable beds. If you are looking for a place with amazing views, not in the middle of the main tourist area but still close enough to take in the attractions, look no further.

Fun and Relaxing Vacation!

The property in one of the most picturesque locations I have seen. Very relaxing very quiet with close proximity to a myriad of activities. Great restaurants nearby but if your looking for the night life be sure it’s peace and quiet under the stars not the bar scene. The three of us enjoyed our stay and all would highly recommend it. I would add small groups 4 or less are best suited for this location.

Great place for a fantabulous weekend
From start to finish, did not disappoint! Accommodations were great. View was awesome. Most if our stay was sitting on the deck and chairs by the water and blueberry bushes (ready for picking) We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful Cottage at Tidal Ledge
The cottage was the perfect blend of location, convenience, and privacy. The tidal ledge location provided unique opportunities to watch the water in the narrows change direction with the tide as well as great wildlife viewing. The property was very well maintained and providing enough room for outdoor activities or just relaxing in the yard by the fire pit. The cottage was very clean and gave us enough space to be comfortable as a group or solo. It was stocked with all the amenities one would need for an enjoyable stay. We'd love to stay there again in the near future. Thanks!

We had the best time! Each day we watched the tides change and Tidal Falls come to life.
The rental process was very easy. Tracey was accessible and accommodating. The note and bottle of wine were a nice touch. Everything we needed was readily available. We cooked several meals and kayaked from the backyard when the tide was high. We watched seals, eagles and an array of birds from the beautiful backyard. Deer even visited. It was a wonderful week!

This property exceeded expectations. The view was incredible and as the name implies the tide rises and falls 12 feet 2 times a day. The outdoor seating areas were plentiful, varied and high end furniture. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It is located in a neighborhood so we did not feel remote but we also never heard anything from any of the neighbors. The location was perfect and we went to Bar Harbor several times. Grocery stores were a short drive to town. Restaurants were plentiful and a great variety. Owner anticipated our needs and we had everything to make this a great stay. Highly recommend and hope to return.
