Joseph Hooker (11/13/1814 – 10/31/1879) an American Civil War general for the Union, remembered for his defeat by Confederate General Robert E. Lee at the Battle of Chancellorsville 1863. In order to keep his troops happy, he hired women to take care of them. Thus the name "Hooker." He retired in Sonoma, CA., his home is now Bedrock Wine Tasting south of the plaza and there is a locally made liquor called Hooker House Bourbon that can be purchased at Prohibition Spirits Distillery on the plaza.

Really great place for a small group of women for a bachelorette. Loved the location super close to downtown Sonoma and vineyards. Highly recommend and check in was super easy. Really loved your place!

The place was clean, super cute, and very comfortable for our weekend away for our friend's wedding!

This place was perfect for our family weekend in Sonoma. The open concept kitchen and family room were perfect for our dinners and the back porch looking out into the oak trees was serene. Our family enjoyed a long night of corn hole out in the front yard under the lovey string lights. The house was clean, check in was a breeze and Jenny was a great communicator.
This house nestled just up the hill but still close enough to head into town. Jenny provided a detailed list of local shops, restaurants, bars and activities and had we stayed longer I’m sure we would have checked more of those boxes. Only 20 minutes away from the Sonoma Raceway and about a 40minute radius to all of wine country.

Great house, really clean and it was perfect for my family, we loved that the host provided so many little extras. Very enjoyable stay and close enough to downtown and the Wedding venue that we were there for.

The house is beautiful. Convenient location. It is minutes from downtown Sonoma.
Even before we arrived, the host sent us information about the area. Restaurants, wineries, things to do, etc. There were fresh flowers and a bowl of snacks waiting for us when we arrived. That was greatly appreciated after traveling all day! The beds were comfortable, and the house/kitchen was fully stocked. The deck was perfect for having a glass of wine and unwinding in the evening. All in all, I highly recommend Hooker House for your wine country stay!

We were very happy with this rental - it was in a very peaceful neighborhood just off the main road into Sonoma and close to wineries.
The kitchen is fully equipped with nice appliances, cookware, utensils, etc. A good selection of staples, spices, were appreciated.
We didn't use the spacious deck due to chilly weather but it does overlook the beautiful yard and garden.

This is actually the second time I’ve stayed at Hooker House, and both times have been excellent! The house is beautiful, spacious, and well-equipped. It is a short drive to many vineyards and restaurants. Jenny answers all questions in a timely fashion and was even so generous as to offer early check-in and late check-out when she didn’t have other guests! We were also greeted by a handwritten note on the door inviting us to use the fireplace if we wished. I wholeheartedly recommend this house!

Nice accommodations for 3 adult women visiting the wine country, We each had our own bedroom, which was perfect. The deck was so pleasant to be outside in the evenings with our glass of wine.

We were 5 older adults looking for a nice place to stay in Sonoma to attend a family wedding. The Hooker House proved to be perfect.

We were in town for a family wedding. Jenny's place was perfect - we loved the easy to get to location, great neighborhood for morning walks, comfy beds, 2 bathrooms and the covered porch for watching the rain. Jenny had so many little touches - our favorites were the games, snacks, and candles!

Everything was great except there is no Keurig coffee maker as show in pictures & living room seating is limited for a group of 8.

We thoguht this was the perfect home for a short getaway with all the items we needed to make it a great experience. The host even provided us with a some small fun birthday decor to enjoy which added an extra touch :)

A group of friends (one with an infant) came to stay here for the Napa to Sonoma half marathon. Jenny’s place was the perfect home for our needs. It was quiet but conveniently located to downtown Sonoma and wineries. She was incredibly responsive and did everything to make our stay top notch. She even had a bag of toys for the baby and a pack and play. We highly recommend this stay for your next visit to Sonoma.

Very clean and comfortable. Convenient to wineries and eating establishments.
As well as being able to prepare your own meals.
One thing we missed was a grill to use.

We attended a family wedding in Kenwood at BR Cohn Winery and this house was perfect. Located very close to downtown Sonoma for some fun wine tasting and great lunches and dinners. The house was in an extremely quiet neighborhood, was very well stocked with everything we needed and very comfortable for the 4 of us. Jenny is a very responsive and attentive host.

Working with the homeowner was very easy. Check in and out were simple. The house was clean. This place had the most well stocked kitchen I have ever stayed in-beyond just pepper, salt and sugar. There were plenty of utensils to cook in-great selection of pots and pans.

The house was perfect for my family of 6 adults who were in the area for food and wine adventures. It was raining and we were unable to use the outdoor area. That would have been fun but California needs the rain. The indoor space was adequate for us. We spent most of the time exploring the wineries in Sonoma anyway.
The kitchen is loaded with anything you might need for cooking including pantry staples like cooking oil, salt, sugar, coffee, sweeteners, tea, etc. Lots of towels, blankets, pillows, candles to stay warm and cozy.
Jenny answered my questions very quickly and we had a very enjoyable weekend in Sonoma.

This was a great place! Beds were good, but don't rely on the futon in downstairs area for adult sleeping but kiddos probably fine. Host left lasts of little notes about house which gave good pointers on any quirks or expectations she had for the home.

The house was wonderful with an amazing deck and backyard space. The rooms were decorated nicely and the beds were comfortable. The property manager went out of her way to be accommodating. She set out picnic supplies for us and she even put up decorations because we were celebrating a birthday while we were there. We would definitely stay there again!

Jenny, Your place was great for Linda/me, Paul/Rose. All the bedrooms being on one floor is a real plus for older folks. The house was very clean and orderly with all the necessary items to be comfortable. Thanks for being a great host.
One request: Think about putting handrails in the your bath/shower. Just a safety item.

Loved the location and house. Our stay was at the end of a 1 1/2 weeks long trip, traveling with a toddler. Comfy home and beds were wonderful , very helpful high chair, baby toys and gate. Would stay here again.

Great house to stay in
A few of us friends stayed here visiting NAIA for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the place. The only improvement we could have asked for is better internet connectivity for four folks but everything rose was amazing from board games to a coal grill.

This 3BR/2BA is only several minutes drive from the plaza in a quiet neighborhood. The older home has been significantly updated and was a great spot to relax after a busy day visiting wineries.
Definitely recommend and would stay here again.
The rate was reasonable for just the two of us. But be advised that after 4 occupants, a hefty $50/person/night fee kicks in.

Suggestion for Owner
Would recommend that some of the mattresses be updated as they were not firm enough for some of us. Overall we enjoyed the property and would rent it again in the future.
