About this cottage rental
Hear the call of the farm animals as Farmer John makes his way over for the morning feed and egg collection. You can round up the kids and join in or just give him a wave and settle onto the verandah to enjoy the fresh country air and clear valley views. During the day you can choose to take the fifteen minute wander into the local village, have an adventure further out of town or stay at home while the kids run through the garden or play in the toy packed playroom. In the evening gather on the back lawn for games and to await the big night sky. Auntie Eileen’s is the perfect place to relax, laugh and create memories.
Auntie Eileen’s is a simple but elegant farm cottage built in the late 1800’s. Her sandstone piers and double brick walls help her keep cool in summer and cosy in winter. The north facing lacework verandah has views to the Upper River Escarpment and wraps around the house to the shade of the old plum, quince and pear orchard. Inside, the house is decorated in a funky eclectic mix of approachable collectables and antiques to create an old world romance which changes tempo from room to room. The overall feeling is of relaxed comfort.
There are three bedrooms which can comfortably sleep six and all have a garden outlook. The front bedroom has a queen sized bed and a fresh French Provincial feel. The second bedroom has a wood framed double country bed and offers a sense of cosiness. The third bedroom has a set of bunk beds that leads to the playroom. The playroom is kid heaven filled with dress ups, books and toys.
The cosy lounge room has a slow combustion wood fire. Here, you can snuggle up with a good book, play board games or watch a DVD; all of which you will find in the cupboard or on the book shelf. Bake to your heart’s content or whip up a fantastic meal in the country style kitchen and serve it in the warm glow of the separate dining or bright breakfast rooms away from the preparation mess.
Auntie Eileen’s is surrounded by an Australian cottage garden and in her paddocks our small collection of animals roam. At any time of day you can watch our sheep grazing, guinea fowl debating or laugh at the antics of the ducks and chickens.
Auntie Eileen's is about the simplicity of country living. The comfy house in which to relax and enjoy being with family and friends. It's arriving to flowers, a bowl of the freshest eggs and a freshly baked sponge cake. From the moment you enter Auntie Eileen’s gate you realise this is not just a holiday house but a home that has been prepared with your needs in mind.

Helen and John were the best hosts you could ask for. They made our stay at Auntie Eileen’s great. From the welcome sponge cake, to being there for anything we needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed spending the morning feeding the animals with John.
This property is so much more than you expect! Absolutely everything you could need was there. It was such a cosy cottage with lots of space and the location was perfect. We can’t wait to come back and stay again.

Auntie Eileen’s is truly the gem of Kangaroo Valley. We enjoyed our 4 night stay in this beautiful historical home. Our hosts Helen and John were so easy to deal with and went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. We had fun with John who took us around to all the animals which allowed us to collect the fresh eggs and feed the sheep. I highly recommend Auntie Eileen’s when staying in Kangaroo Valley.

We stayed here for my birthday weekend and we could not have had a more lovely time to relax and unwind. Helen was very responsive to our questions and made me a lovely cake which I had for my birthday. The cottage itself is charming with a beautiful log fire. There is so much space outside which was the highlight. Lambs, chickens, ducks all roam in their various paddocks. Farmer John comes out to feed them all each morning. My kids 11 & 9 absolutely loved helping him feed the animals and collect eggs. Very close to town. Would absolutely recommend.

Auntie Eileen’s is absolutely stunning, I don’t think the photos can quite do the property justice. Our little ones (2 and 4) loved helping John feed all the animals each morning and Helen always responded quickly to any questions via text. The house is so beautiful and all bedrooms were warm even in the middle of winter with the fire and various heaters. We loved that it was a very short drive to the shops and only 20min to big playgrounds in Berry for the kids. A beautiful cosy stay, can’t recommend highly enough!

Lovely historic property and garden and we so appreciated the hospitality, particularly the chance for our young daughter to feed the animals each morning.

Really enjoyed our 2 nights. The house was fitted out with everything we needed. Made some yummy scrambled eggs with the fresh eggs provided, topped off with parsley from the garden. The sponge cake on arrival was also great. Very relaxing sitting on the porch watching the world go by. Great stay.

Wonderful family getaway
All our needs were thoughtfully catered for by Helen and John and their beautiful cottage, Auntie Eileens. We had a lovely time connecting as a family here. Kids and parents alike shared in a variety new and exciting experiences, feeding the animals with John in the mornings, walks through the countryside, the well-equipped playroom, garden picnics and outdoor games. The cottage itself was lovely, full of thoughtful little touches with the best provisioning I've ever experienced - there was even a garlic crusher!! I have no hesitation in recommending Auntie Eileens, particularly for those with small children.

We had such a wonderful few days in Kangaroo Valley made all the more special through staying at Auntie Eileen's. From the delicious homebaked sponge cake on arrival to all the thoughtful touches and inclusions in the house and the gorgeous garden, but most importantly sharing in the morning duties with Farmer John. We loved meeting all the animals and learning how to care for them and thabknyou for being so patient with all the questions! Auntie Eileen's is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect as a family. Thank you Helen and John, our stay was everything we hoped for and more!

Beautiful house with great detail thought out for a country stay
Staying at Aunty Aileen’s was such a lovely break from the city hustle and bustle. The town is picturesque and the house is so cozy, you’ll find it hard to leave.
The ducks and sheep were fun to watch waddle around the garden.
Kitchen was stocked with essentials and very well laid out for cooking. Very clean and spacious.
Helen was easy to contact and easy to communicate with and was a pleasure meeting her when we got the chance.
Would definitely stay again if we get the chance.

Such a relaxing treat
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Auntie Eileen's. The house itself is lovey. Homey and comfortable with a very well stocked kitchen, and lots of great reading material for relaxing in the beautiful garden. I loved our duck friends and feeding the birds and sheep. So much care goes into the house with fresh flowers, great linen and nice touches here and there. The village itself is not too far away and offers treats and supplies including great gifts and services.
A side trip to Bendeela Reserve to go wombat spotting is well worth it. All this within two hours of Sydney - it has been great to explore this part of the world and I can't wait to come back.

The perfect weekend getaway
What an amazing weekend away. Aunty Eileen's is the perfect location to escape the city and experience country life. Perfect for a couple's weekend away or a family looking to give the kids a taste of farm life, the location is walking distance to the shops, cafe's and pub in Kangaroo Valley yet still peacefully with a relaxing valley outlook. The hosts John & Helen couldn't be more helpful and the mornings we spent with John and our 3 year old son feeding the ducks, chickens and sheep are memories we will cherish forever. We will definately be back next year.

Relaxing family break
The property was exactly as is depicted which was refreshing. It was immaculately kept and very homely and cosy, the house is fully decked out and has so much character. We loved our stay, the kids (4 and 2) loved the play room and feeding the ducks and other animals. Proximity to other attractions (Berry, Fitzroy Falls etc) was great. We will definitely visit again! Thank you Helen & John

Beautiful Cottage farm
We loved staying at Auntie Eileen’s. The house and gardens are gorgeous.
We received a warm welcome from Helen with lovely fresh fruit, veg and eggs from the garden. The Sponge cake was a great touch too.
My son loved feeding the ducks and helping John with the farm duties each morning. So nice of John to spend the time with us showing us what to do and answering our questions.
Each room in the house is beautifully appointed with lots of interesting things for kids. We loved the toy room and bunks and claw footed bath!
We’d love to return in the future.
Thankyou Helen and John.

Property was spotless and some great gimmicks!!
We had a wonderful time at Auntie Eileen's place. The children loved feeding the many various animals and we found the cottage to be in a great location and just right for what we wanted. An added bonus was that John, Helen's husband, had grown up in the same town as us in England - what are the chances!! Would definitely 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun stay.

Lovely old house with very warm and welcoming hosts
Fantastic weekend with time enjoyed at the house (log fire, cosy rooms, farm animals): activities all so close (bike rides, walks, golf) and exploring the lovely town. Will be back in the warmer months for some water adventures

We recently stayed at Helen's as had a wedding in Kangaroo Valley. Helen was so helpful and accomodating as was first night away with our tiny newborn, The house was more than we expected , cute cosy with country charm topped off with fresh laid eggs and baked cake along with the most beautiful animals. We will definitely be back for a longer stay as a perfect weekend getaway. Could not recommend Auntie Eileens more :)

What an idyllic cottage. Great hosts and beautiful location, perfect for a long weekend
It was the first time our 18 month old had seen farm animals and she loved wondering around the garden and paddocks. Helen made us feel very welcome in her characterful and comfortable cottage. We will definitely be back.

Highly recommended!
We absolutely loved this house and the effort that Helen went to, to ensure we had a great weekend. The early check in, sponge cake on arrival and items picked from the garden made it a warm welcome and we felt immediately at home and relaxed. The house is just adorable; with its old charm, well appointed furnishings and generous provisions. The place is spotlessly clean too! Helen also allowed us to check out late in the day, making it feel less like a transaction and more like you are staying with friends or family. Attention to detail and care for guests makes this a great place to stay, we will come back. Thanks Helen!

Beautiful home in a lovely setting
We were visiting Kangaroo Valley for other reasons, but would come back just to stay here again.
Our 2 year old had an amazing time seeing and feeding the animals, and Helen and John gave us an incredibly warm welcome. The house is gorgeous and we could happily have not left it the whole weekend, but also had a lovely time checking out this beautiful part of the world.
I could not recommend this more highly.

Amazing!
We had such an amazing stay and the accommodation is brilliant for families. I have two boys aged 6 and 9 and they loved feeding the animals in the morning, helping make breakfast with fresh eggs from the farm and then making the most of the playroom (equipped with dress up box, trains, lego, games). Helen and John are fantastic hosts - thank you!

well preserved farmhouse and beautiful grounds
My husband regrets not owning a farm - so farm-stay was ideal for him - sitting on the verhandah was peaceful, farm produce was cooked and eaten and little talks with the animals special. Special for me were the vases of fresh flowers and the slow combustion fire albeit we didn't need to light it.

Look no further!
Our family with 2 toddlers had the most incredible stay. Everything was perfect - a character filled cottage, friendly animals that delighted the children, delicious freshly baked sponge, abundant fresh farm produce (you can't beat freshly squeezed juice in the morning), all topped off with Helen and John's generous hospitality. We cherished the opportunity to slow down, relax and unwind, and we are already planning our next visit!
