What a lovely and wonderful home. We were so comfortable and happy. I came to visit family who live in Durango. The house was well maintained and equipped with everything we needed. The best part of our stay was the front yard. A very green and manicured lawn, chairs and table outside to enjoy the late afternoon sunshine.one thing that I absolutely loved were the sheets and towels! Silky sheets and thick cotton towels. Every morning was lovely at the house- quite neighborly people and such nice atmosphere. We highly recommend this location. Very close to everything essential. Joe’s coffee bar was walking distance and had the absolute best noto cold brew ever!

I guess i missed it, but for an upscale priced rental u just assumed it would have air conditioning. With two 90 degree days in Durango (which happen regularly now) we had to heave early, just too hot to sleep. Also the master bed needs a new matress, you get sucked into the middle, its very sloped.

We have stayed in this house 3 years in a row because of the great location and easy to work with mangers.

nice little home within walking distance to town. But it takes more like 10-15 minutes to walk to town, not 3 minutes as advertised. The bunk bed room does not have a closet which was a bummer. cute front yard, however the backyard needs some attention and cleaning up. Cute home. neighborhood is a little run down, but it was very quiet. I would book this house again for the location.

..if not for the sprinklers coming on at 5am and rattling the pipes outside the mbr. Other than that, easy walk to downtown, clean and everything worked fine. Book it,

This is the 2nd time my husband, two dogs, and I have stayed at the 5th Ave. cottage. The location is a very nice walk to Main St. The neighborhood is very quiet. The front yard has a cute little white picket fence and two large pieces of grass. My dogs LOVE it. They do not have real grass where we live. (Turf). They loved grazing like cows. Funny to watch. The house is stocked very nicely with pots, pans, and dishes. The TV has so many apps to watch that it is hard to pick which show you want to relax to at night. Thank you again for a very nice stay.

The house was clean and wonderful. It must be put in the description that the only door to the back yard is in the bunk bed (third room). Very important. The concrete slab in back yard barely holds table & chairs for four, however house sleeps eight. Need to repair hole in backyard gate, dogs could get out. Cute, wonderful home.

This is a fresh, clean, attractive house with a lot of thought put into what guests would need. The beds we’re comfortable and we appreciated the nice sheets, comforters and towels. The bathrooms and kitchen were nicely stocked. We loved the location and could walk to a market, restaurants and coffee shop and downtown Durango.

Charged me ***! for "additional charges", charged me ***! for "trust and safety fee tier 3" ...not sure what the heck that is. ***! for "cleaning" , ***! for "admin fee" goodness! Then 4 different taxes. Four taxes! The place is a bit rough; fine for me in college but not great for 42 year old me with wife. I searched "pet friendly" houses. Then hit "book now". 3 days in they came to clean the place before I checked out at 9am for some reason. Saw I had dogs… I wasn't hiding. And charged me another I’m not able to say but a crazy amount of money!!! Serious. Property manager was very aggressive. The bed posts had dog paw scratches all over them. The couch has a stain. One chair was sniffed all weekend long by my 10 year old therapy Australian Shepherd. I wasn't hiding the dogs, we played fetch in the snow in the front yard. Later they told me I was supposed to email them. Huh? I've rented a hundred places, all with my dogs. All with 5 star ratings.

Everything went as expected and the landlords were very quick to answer any questions. Would stay again when I come back to colorado.

The location of the house was ideal. Clean & well equipped to cook a thanksgiving dinner. The only problem was that the circuit for the master went out each night (early morning). The only extra power we used was for a cpap. It was easy to flip the breaker, but was a bit annoying.

We really enjoyed our stay at this rental. It was cozy and provided plenty of space for four adults and a dog. Nice open living/dining/kitchen that was great for dinners and cocktails in. The home was clean and well appointed. It was a nice walk to town from there on quiet streets.. Our dog really appreciated the fenced in yards. The only two slight cons are: 1) the back bedroom has an window a/c unit that is loud and means you can’t open the window, which made the room hot and stuffy despite the cool October temperatures; and 2) the backyard patio would be much more enjoyable with a set of string lights as it is very dark and so not usable past sundown and the “fire pit” chairs are made from wood and falling part giving us splinters. We suggest upgrading those please! Otherwise, great stay.

Had a wonderful experience staying at this property while we were in town for a wedding - Lorie and team were very responsive with all questions and concerns that came up. The dogs loved being so close to trails and we loved biking/walking downtown. Would recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Durango. The house was exactly as described and contained everything to make the guests feel welcome and comfortable. We brought our two pups with us (their first vacation ever) and they loved playing in the beautiful grass in the front yard. The yard was gated so I did not have to worry about the dogs getting out. This whole process was made so easy and the communication was excellent. We will definitely be back. We are looking for our second home in Durango. I was born and raised there and this was my husband's first time. He fell in love with it. Thank you again.

This was a great home for someone interested in making a move to area. It was a short walk to all of downtown area. Beautiful hiking is just literally blocks from home. All in all nothing buddy good things to say.

This is our 2nd time staying at 5th Avenue Cottage and we enjoyed it both times, but for the price we paid of $4500/week for out last stay in August, I think the home needs some upgrades (or the rent should be lower) . It is a great place to stay if you are traveling with your dogs, since it has a large back yard and a very nice grass front yard. The location is very convenient since you can walk to Main Ave for drinks and food in 10 - 15 minutes. However, for such a high price, the home needs some upgrades:
- The back yard has a table and some outdoor chairs but the wood chairs around the fire pit are falling apart. With the sun hitting the backyard in the afternoon, would be good to have an umbrella for some shade.
- If you like to cook, the kitchen is not well-equipped at all, knives are not sharp, hodge-podge selection of pots/pans, utensils, etc..
- There is no central AC in the house, just a window unit in the back bedroom. We kept the windows opened in the front bedroom and most nights it was not too hot but a couple of warmer nights it was a bit uncomfortable.
For such a high price, my expectations for the home were pretty high. I would give the home 5 stars if it had better amenities or if the price was more in line with the value.

Great Location for a visit to Fort Lewis
We came for graduation from Fort Lewis and this house is wonderful. Bigger than it looks online and has lots of sleeping areas - the two fenced in yards made it amazing for dogs! The house has everything you need! Perfect location - we walked downtown to eat and walked up to campus via sky steps!! If my daughter wasn't graduating - would definitely stay here again! Wish I'd know about this fabulous house earlier!

Great house and location
House was perfect for getting to mountain and downtown fun. The backyard was fenced-in and great for our dog. House had a great layout for meals and relaxation. The price was very reasonable but pet fees were a little steep. Maybe just charge a flat rate or bigger deposit instead just in case there is a problem.

Basically comfortable and convenient
Place was conveniently located and pet friendly on a quiet street. It was pretty clean and had all the basics we needed. However I was disappointed that our family of 5 adults had a hard time hanging out in the living room which only accommodated 4 people max. A big sectional would have gone a long way to help with family time.
