Casa Gatita is a 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath home in the heart of Merida -- two blocks from Santiago, five blocks from Santa Lucia and the main square -- you can walk to amazing restaurants, shops, theater, art galleries, and the sights of Merida. The home includes a 1 car garage, which is unusual for a home so centrally located, as well as laundry facilities. It has all modern conveniences that you expect from a Burro y Flauta home, including a private pool and laundry facilities.

You enter through the garage which includes an electric door opener for convenience. The entry room has a half bath and plenty of storage space if you plan on a slightly longer stay. Next comes the open plan living room, with kitchen , dining area and living room flowing out to the covered patio through large sliding glass doors.

Casa Gatita is ideal for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers who want to stay in Centro while enjoying their trip to Merida. The open concept living space is roomy with a built-in desk for those who need to squeeze in a little work during their vacation. There is a half bath on the lower level.

The kitchen is cozy but well-stocked for preparing meals. Purified water is provided and the refrigerator has ice made from purified water as well, so no need to worry. We provide you with basic kitchen equipment and appliances including a toaster and coffee machine so that you can fuel up with a satisfying breakfast to start your day. Coffee, creamer and sugar is provided -- no need to run to the nearest mini-mart for these basics.

Cafe seating is provided on the covered porch, so you can have your dinners outside overlooking the pool. And there is a BBQ outside, so people who enjoy cooking outside. There is a grass patch for guests traveling with dogs. Past the pool is the laundry room with washer/dryer units that you may use during your stay.

Upstairs is a full bath with shower and a huge master bedroom, with a king sized bed and ample closets. For guests that need to work when they travel, there is a desk in both the living room and the bedroom. The hi thread count cotton bedding and sheets are selected to ensure a good night's rest. A full sized mirror is provided. The entire home can be cooled with air conditioners, and every room has one or more fans.

A small pet (under 15 kg.) is permitted and there is a small grassy area in the back yard for your furry family member. Guests are responsible for any damages done by their pet and must pay a nonrefundable USD$75 pet fee.

The house features custom made furniture from Yucatan Custom Furniture, lighting from Takto as well as antiques and artwork made by Merida’s local artists.

All of our guests are welcome to the entirety of the home and have access to use anything on the property including the kitchen, pool, and any other amenities. The house is not shared with any other occupants or pets, so you can enjoy privacy during your stay.

Other things to note:

Check in is available after 3pm. Check out is before 11am. We may be able to accommodate an early check-in if availability allows. (Let us know if you would like you drop off your bags early so that you can enjoy Merida while we get the house ready for you)

We allow smoking on the balconies and any of the outdoor areas, but it is prohibited inside the property.

Deposit: A deposit of $300 is charged and held when the reservation is made to cover any damage during the stay. An additional security deposit will be required for stays longer than one month.

Maid fee: For rentals in excess of 1 week, weekly cleaning as well as pool maintenance will be provided at no extra charge. Contact us if you are interested in additional cleaning for an extra fee.

Electricity is included for stays of 2 weeks or less; and for stays of longer than 2 weeks, no electricity is charged unless the usage greater is USD$3 a day for the 1BR or 2BR homes, or USD$5 a day for the larger homes.

Pet fee: One small (under 15kg) pet is welcome, but the guest is responsible for all damage caused by their pets. An extra pet fee of $75 will be charged.

Extra guests fee: Each guest after 2 will incur an additional fee of $15 per night.

Furniture and décor from pictures may differ. We are always upgrading and improving the look and feel of our property for the comfort and pleasure of our guests.
