About this house rental
Overlooking a forest of rare Monterey Pines and with views of the spectacular Pacific Ocean, this house is here for you to pause from whatever you do. Take a deep breath of clean fresh ocean air, listen to the sounds of the forest and let your mind wander. Think of it as a place for punctuation in your life, where fresh ideas, clear uncluttered thinking and laughter can come naturally. That is what this place is all about.
During the day relax in the comfortable living area with its open beam ceilings & panoramic views of the ocean and forest. Enjoy the quietude, peace & serenity our home brings you. If you don't want to completely disconnect, we have high speed Wi/Fi , cable TV and Amazon firestick for streaming. Everything you need to plug in when you feel like it and a perfect workspace with a desk that looks out over the forest and to the ocean...a peaceful place to work or journal your thoughts. Share meals and memories either in the lovely dining area or out on the deck.
In front of you is a very old virgin forest that is teaming with wild life. There are several redwoods on the property that are up to seventy five years old. You will most likely see deer, wild turkeys, quail and the rare bob cat strolling through the area. There are also woodpeckers, blue Jays, Red Shouldered Hawks and many other delightful species of birdlife.
Deep, restful sleep has no price. The separation of the rooms are designed so you can sleep better, more restful here than anywhere else. Each bedroom is located on a separate level, featuring 2 primary suites... one with King Bed on upper level with ocean view deck & one with Queen bed on lower level, each with adjoining bathrooms 3rd bedroom has a Queen Bed & full bath close by just off of the hall on entry level.
At night, step out onto the deck. Look straight up on a clear night and see the Milky Way Galaxy and the stars brighter than you can remember. Listen closely and you will hear the seals barking on the beaches below. A few miles north on Highway 1 are nesting elephant seals on protected beaches that you can visit up close. Hearst Castle is only a few miles from here and you can view whale migration from tours out of Morro Bay.
Finally, the wine country out towards Paso Robles on Highway 46 is one of the best kept secrets in California. Here there is a collection of wine makers who have gone the independent route and still consider winemaking an art form. Make yourself at home. Exhale and create the next chapter of your life.
Please note: ^^We do not rent for30 nights or longer.^^

We loved the view through the forest to the ocean. Quail, wild turkeys and deer were abundant in the area. The master ensuite bedroom was lovely and the living room was cozy and a great place for conversation.

This was a very quiet and peaceful house. I really appreciated just hearing the birds and squirrels. It had everything we needed. There are nice neighborhood trails nearby. I would love to live in this quiet neighborhood someday. Debbie was very communicative and nice. Thanks again, Sheri.

We found the house clean and well appointed with everything a group would need for a comfortable stay. Coming from the heat and humidity of NC we totally enjoyed the cooler weather we found in Cambria. A great location to explore the Paso Wine Region. We would recommend this house and host without hesitation. (7/24)

Property was in very good condition, extremely clean and comfortable. Well described by owner. Owner communications were courteous and helpful. Overall a great place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this location! The house was large and spacious, and all of us had our own rooms and bathrooms. The common area boasted a wonderful window seat where we were able to observe birds, deer, and even a fox! On our second night, half of Cambria lost power, and Debbie was kind enough to text us and make sure we were okay. The unit was prepared for this with plenty of flashlights and lanterns for us to use. All in all, we would definitely book this home again!

To start with, the pictures do not do justice to this home.
We are two retired couples, who came for a few days. We liked the location, the description, the value.
We were not prepared for how outstanding this home is. First of all, it has huge exposed beam vaulted ceilings, and the main room, with views to the ocean, is wonderfully inviting.
As an old carpenter, I was particularly impressed with the quality & style of the craftsmanship. The exposed beams, stain grade wood trim, classic tile surfaces and the color palate. Sure, old style, but warm, friendly, can classic.
Our interactions with the owner/rep were outstanding. The beds were very comfortable, and every amenity was perfect.
Very likely this will be our go to location in Cambria well into the future.
Thanks so much to Deborah for making this home available!

I am so grateful for having had the opportunity to stay at Debbie's house. The nature of our trip was creativity and we knew upon opening the front door that we would be unencumbered here. The amount of wildlife in the area is inspiring and you are likely to encounter deer and turkeys if you choose to walk the cool path to town, which I did multiple times while telling myself, "I could live here". If you are fortunate enough to stay here, you will not be disappointed.

We have stayed at numerous places in Cambria and this house is by far the best place we've stayed. View was beautiful, quiet neighborhood very clean and privacy.

Everything was as advertised or better. Debbie, the property manager, couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. I recommend staying in this property without reservation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 11 night stay at Lodge Hill! A friend and I came to Cambria to quilt, shop and relax. There was easily enough room to bring another person. We set up shop on the ample dining room table and accomplished quite a bit of sewing. The home is charming, comfortable and clean with breathtaking views from every level. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We watched the wildlife from the deck and window seat spotting deer, rabbits, blue jays, woodpeckers, a gopher and many quail. The cool ocean breeze keeps the place at a perfect temperature and watching the fog roll in and out is truly magical. Best of all was the special care given by property manager, Debbie. She handled everything and even made a special trip to town for us. I can’t wait to come back in October!

We absolutely loved our stay, kitchen was very well equipped. A couple of items we would suggest is the primary bedroom mattress needs replacing , ground in master bath should be steamed or update and living room furniture is getting to the point of replacing. We spent most of our time outside on beautiful deck and at the dining room table

Easy access. Beautiful and comfortable home with a treetop view of the ocean! Short drive to downtown Cambria and equally close to wineries along the route to Paso Robles. Excellent restaurants close by. A wonderful place to stay and enjoy the many wonders of this central CA destination!

The place itself was quite nice, save the bathroom in the master suite which was old, the shower was poor, and the fixtures dated. All else was fine, fully stocked kitchen, great towels, and superb rugs throughout. In the main a fine house for 4 adults, with room for 6.

Amazing property! Felt like home the moment we walked in! Snuggled in a glorious forest with a magnificent view of the ocean! Sipped wine in the balcony, close to Hearst Castle and Paso wineries! And the beds were the BEST! Five Stars! Will definitely return!

Four long-time friends met up at the central for a few days to visit and see the area. This Cambria location is ideal as a half-way point to meet for us. The house was spotless and there is plenty of room with a comfortable layout, three very nice bedrooms each with full bathrooms and a well appointed kitchen. Loved the view and the balconies! We had one issue with the Internet which was addressed quickly to our satisfaction. Loved this place and would definitely like to stay here again!

Everything was as presented... house was comfortable, warm and inviting! It was very well stocked with ample cookware and dishes. We were 3 couples and it gave each of us privacy in our own ery comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. The view is to die for! The neighborhood is quiet and just far enough from downtown. We had visits from a variety of wildlife...deer, raccoons, squirrels, woodpeckers and wild turkeys! The host was wonderful to work with and very responsive to any questions or needs. We highly recommend both the house and the host and will book both again soon.

Nature was all around. Wild turkeys, deer, rabbits, squirls, birds and far off sea lions. Beautiful coast redwoods and a good peak at the ocean not far away. The house had everything you needed but was dated in the kitchen utinsils. My wife and I were left alone when my son and his wife were called away on a family emergency back east. Add on fees were a high for just one couple to afford but its worth it if you can split the cost.

We really enjoyed our stay, the house was "as advertised" with great views and it is very quiet neighborhood. One thing that might need to be looked into is the bottom bedroom was very musty smelling there must be some moisture issue going on, we opened some windows for the 3 nights we were there, but it still had that smell when we left and locked up. Luckily that bedroom was not needed with our group but would have been an issue if it was. Otherwise, the house and the area were awesome.

Loved this VRBO
Comfortable, spacious and clean. Loved this VRBO. The views were relaxing and the home is located 5 minutes from both Main Street and the sand. We highly enjoyed this serene retreat.

A beautiful escape
This house was all that we had hoped for... lots of space, a kitchen that provided us with plenty of space to cook, each bedroom had its own bath, beautiful views, quiet neighborhood, in a more remote area of Cambria (west of hwy 1) up in the hills and still close to town & beaches... Deb, the property manager was always just a phone call away and willing to troubleshoot any issue. We loved this place.... a wonderful experience of peace & tranquility....

Nicely appointed
The house was very nice and well appointed. Very clean. Just a couple of exceptions though. The couch and chair cushions are in serious need of re-doing. The fabric is fine and in good shape but the cushions themselves are very "butt sprung". When you sit down you sink into a hole and it's very hard to move around and get up. Some new sturdy foam would work wonders. We did have to roll up a few of the small area rugs, they were sort of a trip hazard especially for a handicapped person with a crutch. Except for the crappy weather and dense fog, which had nothing to do with the house, everything was pretty much first rate.

Perfect location and accommodations!
Near the top of winding roads in the village of Cambria, this was a fabulous house for those seeking super convenience to local attractions amidst a wellspring of peace and local wildlife. Immaculately clean, stocked SO well with all you need to prep and serve any meal; SUCH comfy bedding, multistory decks overlooking trees in the gorge, plus deer, turkey and abundant bird life. This home is good for your soul if you’re craving a haven. You won’t believe the views, the lovely fireplace (gas stove insert) and all the thoughtful touches added for your comfort. Manager Deborah could not have made things easier. She’s a treasure! Cuddle blankets, lovely towels, cute vintage elements in kitchen and baths, GREAT water pressure, a two car garage and full washer/dryer. I’ll definite refer this spot and would be happy to return.
