SEAVIEW ON BURTON: This Tudor style home sits above a Monterey pine forest sweeping a half mile down to the ocean, one of the few vacation homes in the area which borders a forest preserve. The quaint seaside village of Cambria is a leisurely five minute drive from the property.
BATTERY-BACKED POWER. With the home's Tesla Powerwall battery backup system charged by solar, enjoy a worry free winter stay - you'll have heat and light even if the rest of the neighborhood doesn't. An eero mesh wi-fi network means that guests' internet and streaming services are second to none.
Guests are within minutes of scenic walking trails through pine-forested Strawberry Canyon,' which lies directly behind the property. The beach is an easy 15-minute walk through the woods and along quiet residential streets. You can pick through the tide pools at nearby Lampton Cliffs park, or walk along the boardwalk bluff trail or on the miles of forest and marine terrace paths of the stunningly beautiful public Fiscalini Ranch Preserve.

Seaview on Burton is a site-managed property, similar to a Bed and Breakfast. A separate unit on the property may be visited by the owner or staff responsible for fire watch, maintenance (internet, heating, plumbing and laundry). This unit is completely private and and accessed separately. We have found over the course of our 11 years of operation that this arrangement ensures the property is adequately maintained and guest needs are addressed promptly. For traveler security the property has an exterior security camera.

The house was clean and the description and pictures were very accurate. Communication with the manager was good, very detailed directions and easy check in. I like that we were able to park in the garage. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need if you wanted to cook in. I can't rate the view of the ocean because it was foggy/cloudy our entire visit and was never visible. We did enjoy all the trees, birds, turkey and deer. As stated in other reviews there is not a TV in the main living area downstairs. There is a TV in the master bedroom with a small sitting area and one in another bedroom. Also, the stairs are a bit steep, so if anyone in your group has trouble with stairs take that into consideration.

James’ home is a calm, comfortable, and cozy retreat nestled in the trees. It was perfect for three moms to rejuvenate before picking up our kids from camp. We loved the beautiful pine floors and high ceilings.
Evenings were spent in the vaulted living room next to the fireplace, creating a super cozy atmosphere. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking, and the labels on the cabinets and drawers were really helpful. The bedrooms were spacious and comfy, too.
Some of us had to work during our stay in Cambria, so we really appreciated the fast internet and the spaciousness of the house – plenty of room for everyone to find their own work nook. Our favorite spot was definitely the deck. We spent a lot of time out there with hot cups of tea, chatting, and watching the amazing variety of birds.
We took walks around the neighborhood, and although we didn’t get a chance to walk the Strawberry Loop trail nearby, we’ll save that for next time!
James was an awesome host, with clear instructions and even had the lights on for us when we arrived late in the evening. Thanks, James, for sharing your home with us!

All photos and description don't do justice to this fine house. A real gem. Tranquil, backing up to a forest preserve with a view of the sea after the morning mist cleared. We will return!

The location, the house, the neighbors, and the host were all great! There were a few early hiccups that were, in all honesty, my fault (always read EVERYTHING before booking), but James was gracious and willing to work through my misses to make our stay amazing. Minus some cobwebs and floors that could have been a wee-bit cleaner (oh, and some aluminum foil would've been nice :-) ) the house was perfect and afforded us a great place to return after our daily adventures.
HIGHLY recommend this home and host and we hope to get the chance to return one day!

We had a lovely stay. Seaview has a beautiful view of the ocean and is so conveniently located. The house is nicely appointed and the on-site manager was not intrusive. I do wish there was a television in the living room/common area as we were there over a big football weekend and watching in the master bedroom was not ideal. Overall, I'd be delighted to stay again!

Beautiful house, better than the pictures. Clean, well organized. We planned on having dinner in local restaurants , but the house was so amazing we chose to hang out on the deck. We ate dinner at the house 3 out of 4 days. The deck has a great view of the ocean and you can hear the waves! The sunset and stars are incredible. Beautiful wooded setting, private and quiet.
James, the host, was very responsive and gave us heads up of local events. The house is decorated with original paintings from a local artist. We met the artist in Cambria who was very fun and interesting.
5 minute drive to Moonstone beach, Cambria, very close to great wineries in Paso Robles.
We will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay here. So peaceful and relaxing. Some may prefer being closer to the beach but for us, being in such a secluded, natural forested space was quite heavenly. The house is comfortable and a real haven at the end of a day.

We enjoyed our time here. The house was very clean, the kitchen very well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils and appliances. We did miss not having a TV in the living room but that is our personal preference.

We had a wonderful stay at Seaview. The property is clean and welcoming. The large balcony has a wonderful view and was a relaxing oasis. James was a gracious host who made sure we had all the information we needed. Seaview on Burton made a wonderful getaway for friends who were gathering from different places in the country. House is in a very beautiful and quiet location in the woods, just as described. It was comfortable for 5 adults and beds were comfortable. Wildlife (birds, squirrels, and deer), ocean view, and star gazing kept us happy!

A wonderful location close to downtown Cambria as well as Morro Bay. Tucked away in the hills, you can view the ocean at the property and have options for walks. The house was very comfortable for 5 adults-will stay here again if we visit the central coast.

Cambria CA is a great little holiday town - shopping, eating, proximity to wine country and Ocean.
We enjoyed the house as the view from the deck was tremendous, lawn chairs at sunset, grilling out. Plenty of room for the four of us, stocked kitchen

Nice, but somewhat dark interior surrounded by trees, which we enjoyed. Kitchen table and chairs were uncomfortable due to their height. Dining room was more physically comfortable but dark. Living room was ok - we enjoyed the fireplace. Upstairs master suite very nice.

We loved our stay. We enjoyed the well appointed kitchen and spent a lot of time in front of the fire place. The location was perfect for our sightseeing trips and for staying in to cook and relax. James is the best and was easy to reach with a couple of questions we had. I would stay again.

Absolutely loved our California experience in Cambria. The home had the look and feel of a true California coastal home. Plenty of room for the whole family with a fantastic view. Close to everything but secluded enough to feel like we were able to get away from the hustle and bustle. Nature walks and lovely, quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend this location - exceeded our expectations.

The house was as described and truly lovely. We were extremely comfortable and James rapidly responded to our queries. We enjoyed stargazing from the balcony. I could easily cook in the well appointed kitchen. The other adults (my sisters) were also thrilled with our accommodations.
Don’t miss walking along the coast at the Fiscalini Ranch… truly spectacular.

We just finished a return visit ( this visit 15 days). We LOVE this location - the whisper of a breeze through the pines and fresh sea air. Adore all the wild life in the area particularly the deer and turkey -something we don’t see in S CA.
James has made some tremendous upgrades - kitchen stove and microwave are awesome and new shower in the master bath. Hot water and a forceful shower head are so appreciated. The bed is very comfortable.
Splendid sunsets every night - doesn’t get any better!!! We have been vacationing in Cambria for 30 years and we will continue to gravitate back to this home. James is a fantastic host - answering to our needs quickly and with kindness. Thank you James for another outstanding stay. We are immensely grateful.

Seaview on Burton met our every need and exceeded our expectations. The location is serene, the beds are comfortable, and the interior is spacious. The decks look out to the tree tops, the ocean and the sunset. The house was clean and uncluttered. Artwork and photographs add interest to the area and warmth to the house. We walked to Lampton Cliffs (the ocean) through Strawberry Canyon and then a few blocks on residential streets. It is a peaceful and easy hike. We enjoyed our time at this house very much and will return. Thank you James for your great communication, and for opening your house to us.

Two friends and I had a wonderful time staying at Lodge Hill in Cambria. The accommodations were beautiful, clean and close to the beach and shops. This will now become our annual end-of-summer getaway spot.

Our stay was full of calming views. The house is set up to do so from various points. It was quiet with no surroundings neighbors. Only deer, turkeys, and birds to add to the ambiance. We were able to get some family quality time by the tide pools, Hearts Castle, beach, and nice car rides. The host is helpful and available as needed.

Property manager was helpful. Place was nice & clean. View was great! Access is to the house only, not the grounds. The house does have steep stairs. So if someone had mobility issues the stairs could be a problem.
