The desert setting of this custom home is beautiful but the home is not set up to be a long term rental:
-Communication with Vacasa difficult. The only way to contact the local rep is through a call center in some other city. Sometimes they contact the local rep sometimes they don’t. The local rep was helpful if he was contacted.
-We spent two weeks in this home with NO WiFi which also limited the Dish TV channels. Vacasa gave us a small credit but didn’t begin to make up for this huge inconvenience. Verizon cell service was one bar making the use of our cell phones as hotspots impossible.
-Livingroom furniture uncomfortable with no reading lamps, only overhead lighting. Updating needed.
-Located near many restaurants
-Enjoyed the patio fireplace.

We have been using VRBO for over 20 years and have never had a bad experience,
and have always s felt we got a fair exchange of value for the money we spent.
We can’t say that about our stay with Vacasa in Tucson. The house itself was lovely, but
the furnishings and level of maintenance was not at all commensurate for the price
we paid, and especially not compared to comparable VRBO properties.
Pros for our stay
• Beautiful quiet neighborhood & house with wonderful windows and views
• Lovely kitchen with granite counter tops and working appliances
• Master bath was roomy, with dual sinks & roomy shower
• MBR had a large roomy closets
• Garage was roomy and clean with working remote
• All doors had working locks
• Hot tub worked well and was quick to heat
• Lovely painted wall graphic in hallway to MBR with convenient bath/wash room
• WiFi was adequate, but slow at times
• Master bathroom shower with two shower heads is great
• Outdoor gas fireplace worked fine
• We did not use the two smaller bedrooms
• MBR closet shelves were filthy - we used a towel to wipe them off and it came out black
• Outdoor grill does not work properly - left side not at all - only got up to 250 degrees
• Coffee maker was grimy - inside and outside
• Most all outdoor furniture was old 5 - 10 years ago and in disrepair
• Most all indoor furniture was old and uncomfortable
• Four ceiling lights in office had large collections of flies and dust in them
• Outdoor grill does not work properly - left side not at all - only got up to 250 degrees
• The dinnerware provided was comparable to what would be found in a college dorm
- unmatched, only enough for three to five place settings
- silverware was cheap, with few utensils
- few coffee cups, no small glasses

The house was perfect. We enjoyed the location. Close to town but it had the feel of being in the desert. Although there were houses nearby the layout of the house made it feel like we were alone. The property management was awesome. We had one small thing wrong with the house when we arrived and the promptly responded and took care of it. We loved everything about our stay.

The house was beautifully designed for family gatherings in the great room with awesome views of the mountains and city. The spacious covered patio was a great place to watch the sky being painted beautiful colors at sunset and to watch the sun come up over the mountains. Great kitchen for cooking and visiting.

We enjoyed staying in this well-appointed home near our relatives in Tucson. The bedroom options accommodated us and our 3 grown children, and we loved waking up to sunrise outside the master windows.
We made one family sinner while staying here and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking.
The home was in a quiet neighborhood and convenient to hiking and other attractions in Tucson.

This property has fabulous views and a great location. But for a long-term rental (we stayed for 9 weeks), we do not recommend it.
The house has magnificent views and a fantastic location, but it is severely “dated” in its amenities and is not well-appointed for the suggested 8 person accommodation. The televisions are old and do not provide either the sound or picture quality expected within the last few years. Plus, none of the guest rooms have tvs or electronics of any kind. The kitchen, dishes, utensils, appliances, and equipment are old, broken, chipped, dirty, unmatched or missing. There are barely enough plates or utensils for 4 people, let alone eight. The toaster oven is small, out-of-date, and has caked-on grease. The refrigerator makes loud noises every time the ice maker goes on. The coffee maker smells burnt when in use. The knives are dull. The pots, pans, broiler trays and baking pans are old, mis-sized and clearly not what a home cook would expect. We had to purchase a saucepan, a dish drainer, spatulas, water glasses, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, tissues, sponge, dishwashing gloves, food storage containers, bottle brush, and plastic ware. Some of the patio furniture is broken, or extremely uncomfortable. The carpeting in the bedroom is stained. The house did not supply a tablecloth. The towels are old and not very absorbent. Furthermore, it would be very difficult for older people to manage taking out the garbage and recycling down a long steep driveway.
As for the property manager, Vacasa, the best thing we can say is that there is interesting music played while on hold with their guest services. Their 24/7 guest services hot line is a joke. They very politely tell you the local office will be contacted, but they never confirm anyone responds, nor do they provide any substitute assistance if the local office does not or cannot respond. We went with no water softener for 4 weeks; and no Internet connection for 5 days. There was no assistance with broken patio furniture or burnt out lightbulbs in the kitchen at all.

Several great restaurants in the area (Feast, Contigo and Tito & Pepe)
Nice to visit the desert in the fall, as temps are quite pleasant.

Wedding weekend
We rented this home because our daughter was getting married at Hacienda del Sol. We wanted to be close to the venue. The home was spacious and had everything we needed. The master suite is quite impressive. Our daughter loved the jacuzzi! The view from the home is fantastic. Having 3 garage spaces was a huge bonus. We would definitely book again!

Beautiful desert retreat
We really liked this property. It was spacious, with a beautiful desert view and large saguaros on the property. The finishes in the house are outdated, however they are high-end and the house is very clean and comfortable. The multiple fireplaces are wonderful, and the hot tub was also a nice bonus. This house gave our kids a lot of room to run around and spend time out in the patio with minimal supervision necessary, as the house has wonderful large windows to allow us to see them. The main bedroom is also set apart from the other bedrooms, which was also nice for privacy. The house had everything we needed. We appreciated the coffee and laundry and dish soap pods available. Wr would definitely stay here again.

Three of us spent a week working virtually on the lovely shaded veranda, watching saguaro blooms pop open during the day and city lights twinkle at night. We loved our time in this quiet, private house that put us close enough to explore some hikes and sights around Tucson when we were ready to venture out and about.

Great space for family of 8
The veranda is great. Hot tub relaxing. Great city lights at night. Enough space for all of us to spread out.

A disappointment
We were excited to rent this house as the listing led us to believe it would be a beautiful, clean, and well stocked. We were so disappointed that it was none of those things. We travel a lot and often stay in private homes found on Home Away or Airbnb. We have never written a negative review before but we don't want anyone else to pay a lot of money to stay here when it is nothing like what is promised.
We arrived to find the front entryway covered in a large amount of bird poop and crushed fruit. We didn’t want to track the mess into the house so we used a narrow passage to the side to reach the front door. We opened the front door and immediately noticed one of the large windows at the rear of the house was badly damaged. There appeared to be two impact points with numerous cracks spreading from them. We didn’t want to get too close to inspect the damage as it appeared the large window could completely shatter at any time. (You can see how large the back windows are in the listing photos.) We called Vacasa right away and opted to use the text option since we were #48 in line to speak to someone over the phone. The reply text from Vacasa assured us that someone in the local office would be notified to contact us. (Spoiler alert: no one contacted us.)
The house had a strong, unpleasant perfume smell and we discovered it was coming from numerous plug-in air fresheners. We unplugged them all and not much later, found that the artificial smell had been covering up a musty smell. This smell just added to our overall impression of uncleanliness.
The master bathroom had obviously not been cleaned. There was urine in the toilet, an empty roll of toilet paper, and hairs in the bathtub. The master bedroom blinds were broken, with pieces on the floor below and others in a nightstand drawer. To have privacy from the neighbors, we had to hang an old sheet and beach towel we found in the closet over the windows. In addition to the old sheet and two beach towels in the master bedroom closet, we found a well worn, smelly blanket and a rolled up, dirty robe. Also, there was no hair dryer in the master bathroom and the one in the hall bathroom was broken.
There was so much more wrong with the house but apparently review length is limited so here's the bottom line: don't stay here. It is dirty and in disrepair. If you choose to stay here, be prepared to fix any immediate problem yourself because the property manager is hard to reach.

Great location and amazing views
This property is in a perfect location! Very private setting with a great outdoor living area. Amazing 360 degree views. CLost to Sabino Canyon for hiking trails and less than 20 minutes to downtown Tuscon for a great selection of restaurants and bars.

Serene and close to everything
Peaceful location with privacy and quiet mornings watching the sunrise over the giant cactus in the yard. Then very close to everything you want to do outside the home. Well equipped, great layout and a truly restorative stay.

Very Nice, but not friendly to those who are physically impaired
Nice house, great views of the Mountains and Tucson lights. The house was nice, very quiet, with a verity of cacti and other desert plants growing just off the spacious patio. The house is not friendly to those who are physically impaired. It has about six levels, each with one or two stair steps, no hand rail on stairs or showers. With that exception, this is a 5 star place to stay.

Great vacation home
This is a beautifully decorated home with a beautiful patio. The home was plenty large enough for our group of 8 and had all the comforts of home. High quality furnishings and details throughout the home. The patio has a cozy, private feel yet is large enough to enjoy the outdoors. It had a grill, a variety of seating, a gas fireplace and a nice hot tub we used most days. The views from the home/patio were incredible and we enjoyed overlooking the distant city lights from the hot tub at night. The only slight negative was some noise (i.e. squeaky bathroom door, tv, etc) traveled through the home probably because of the tile floors. We truly loved staying at this home and kept commenting on how perfect it was for our vacation. We would highly recommend this home.

Must. Stay. Here.
This was a last minute getaway with my daughter. We had a great experience with Vacasa previously and wanted to go somewhere for New Years. Found this little gem and let me tell you about it... Nestled in the foothills it is close enough to everything that you not have to drive far, yet when you are there you feel so far away from it all. The views are spectacular and the tranquility that’s provided by the environment is priceless. The price was amazing by the way, thank you for that! Let’s just say I would stay here again in a heartbeat and bring my family with me.
Couple small suggestions:
1) Darker window coverings in the bedrooms is essential.
2) Hot water was not that hot and didn’t last long.
3) Water softener looked like it needed some help.
4) Couldn’t figure out how to remove the cover from the hot tub. Maybe some directions on that for future guests or if we ever do make it back.
Other than that it was so easy in and out. Everything we needed basically was there. I didn’t want to leave... Oh the views!!
