We fully enjoyed a family weekend at this beautiful property in Truckee! The beautiful kitchen is fully stocked with all things a cook needs to make a fantastic meal, including things like oil, vinegar, salt, pepper etc. The bathrooms are clean and also stocked with necessities (towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap). Probably one of the best I have stayed at.

Beautiful home & property. Peaceful and quiet street. I appreciated with 2 young children how the main home was all on one floor too! (stairs to get to main level from front door or garage entrance only). Short drives to attractions such as donner state park & downtown truckee were a big plus too! This is the best home we have rented in Truckee. We would rent again.

I thought long and hard about this review and discussed it with my husband, my mom and my friend who joined us on this trip. Don’t get me wrong, the house is gorgeous and it had a lot of space and we were very comfortable. We really liked the decor, the views, the location. The beds were comfy. Lots of pillows and blankets. My husband and I have a business, so we take reviews very seriously as we value the five star reviews that we get for our business. We have never gotten anything less than five stars so when I saw that this home had all five stars I felt really bad about giving them less. Unfortunately, I cannot give this place five stars. The description on VRBO describes the home as lavish yet they offer the cheapest toilet paper I have ever seen. My in-laws buy Dollar Store toilet paper, this was worse than Dollar Store toilet paper. The hand soap in the bathrooms was very runny almost as if they added water to it stretch it out. The home boasts having two televisions with cable so people can split up and watch different things, however the TV in the living room does not have cable and it is very small. My husband wanted to watch the game so he is in the family room watching the game on the big screen( because it had cable) and the three girls are in the living room trying to watch a movie on this tiny television. We couldn’t watch the movie because we couldn’t see the subtitles. The next night we rented some DVDs to watch in the family room only to not be able to find the DVD remote and when my husband tried to operate the DVD manually it wouldn’t work. It would’ve been nice if both televisions had cable and both televisions had smart TV capability. The Wi-Fi was virtually non existent. For most of the trip all four of us had difficulty connecting to the Internet on our phones. Lastly, the power went out our first night there. We didn’t know if it was just our house or the whole neighborhood that was w/o power. I texted the homeowner to advise the power was out and that the local power utility company‘s website did not have updated information and that when I called I got a voice message that said they were closed until Monday. The homeowner suggested that I leave a message and perhaps somebody will call us back and that she was sorry but she didn’t know. I asked her to login to the utilities website so she could report the outage and see if she could find out any information for us. She did. But only after I brought up.

Photos sometimes make a place look better than it is, but not with this house! Beautiful, quiet and private. Nothing but wilderness out the back door!! We saw a bear on our 1st day, which was awesome. It stayed a good 50+ yards from the house, but was still very exciting.
Can't wait for the next excuse to stay here again.

As nice as advertised!
We booked a family of five for a weeklong stay off-season so our family could school and work remotely (COVID times...) and found this to be a very comfortable, roomy home from which to make use of the Tahoe area.
Often, photos can misrepresent a place, but in this case, the photos did true justice to how nice the home looks and the layout of the space. The home is very well appointed and the multiple living spaces allowed our family to spread out when needed.
We would not hesitate to go back to this home for a future visit.

This was the most beautiful, well-kept, well stocked, family friendly, amazing location cabin we’ve ever rented. It was everything we dreamed of to make the most incredible family memories of a snow filled, cabin winter experience. The owners were great and easy to get a hold of. They had all kinds of great sledding and snow equipment. Plenty of spices and condiments to share. We will definitely be back!

Comfy, cozy beautiful getaway
We were very comfortable at this beautiful cabin. Easy access to stores and ski resorts. This was our first time going to Truckee and Mindy was very helpful easy to contact. We had a 10yr old and 20 month baby and they loved it they had a great time. Definitely coming back hopefully this time in the summer.

BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED & COZY!
We absolutely LOVED our stay over Christmas at this beautifully decorated and super cozy home! It was one of the nicest holidays we’ve ever had.
Mindy, the owner, made sure that we had everything we needed, and even went so far as to have lovely Christmas decor put out for us, so we would enjoy our holiday stay even more.
The home is BEAUTIFULLY decorated (even nicer than the pictures depict) with the most COMFORTABLE sofas, pillows, throws, and beds. The bed in the master bedroom even had plush micofleece sheets—that you might think would be too hot—but were not (just snuggy warm when you crawled in). Once we got home, I had to order myself a set of these awesome sheets. My husband said it’s the most comfortable home he’s ever been in!
The house is sparkling clean, and the kitchen is well stocked with most everything you would need. There’s a set of good Henckel knives, a newer set of really nice non-stick pans, a large Crockpot, a wide variety of spices on hand, and even a
coffee bean grinder. I was really impressed with this, as I usually have to pack and bring all these items when we rent a house (not this time)!
The layout of the house is also ideal, with the master bedroom on one side of the house and the other bedrooms
on the other side. Especially important if traveling with kids or another couple. The house is dead quiet. Another nice layout feature was having a separate TV room with a closet full of games. We all gathered in that room in the evening to watch movies (TV was quite large). We did however, bring our own Apple TV to make sure we got the Disney Channel.
It was snowing during our stay, and we really enjoyed the warmth of the huge rock fireplace and the private view out the floor-to-ceiling windows to the back forest (so relaxing) . My husband and son, used the snowshoes available at the house to hike up to the top of the hill in the backyard. At the top—the most breathtaking vista of Donner Lake.
Thank you again Mindy for sharing your beautiful home. Did you see I booked it again for next Christmas? Can't wait! :)

Cozy family getaway in the snow!
We had a great time with family at this cozy cabin. I was perfectly comfortable staying inside of the cabin all day with my baby and it seemed so magical looking out the huge windows at the freshly fallen snow while being warm inside next to a roaring fireplace. The rest of the group went skiing and they enjoyed the easy access to the slopes from this location. The cabin was exactly as advertised and I recommend it 100%! We plan on going back in the future!

Serenity in the wood
Wow what an amazing stay for our little family getaway. The house was as accurate to the photos and so close to downtown Truckee and Donner Lake. While it's not walk away it was all easy to get to within a few minutes. The kitchen was fully stocked for every occasion which was extra nice. We really enjoyed our stay and the owner was especially wonderful. We highly recommend this home for a quick getaway or a couple weeks stays.

Home away from Home
What a wonderful vacation home! From the minute we walked in we knew we selected the perfect vacation spot. We could tell immediately the home was well kept and very clean. We noticed the peacefullness of the location with tall pines surrounding the property. The cathedral ceilings and abundant windows made the home feel larger then the actual square footage. We had plenty of space to relax and the separate front living room provided a quiet spot to enjoy morning coffee and listen to the birds. Being that it was summer we were able to enjoy the HOA amenities including the marina and pizza joint for Monday night bingo. Our two young boys enjoyed playing with the toys and were in awe of all the games in the game closet. Thank you for a wonderful place to enjoy for a few day getaway. We certainly will be back!
