About this apartment rental
Our lovely 2 bedroom villa is in the Captain's Court complex adjacent to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation hotel. Walk out the sliding glass doors off of the main living area onto a patio that faces the Atlantic Ocean. Walk a few steps from the patio to the boardwalk that goes down the the beach. Nearby The Amelia Island Plantation offers many activities including nearby golf, tennis, bike and walking trails, nature and Segway tours, a spa, shops and restaurants - of course this is all if you can drag yourself away from the beautiful white sand beaches!
Our villa is comfortable, well-maintained and family-friendly with easy walk out on one level to the beach and on the other level to a small grassy yard surrounded by trees. The unit is tiled throughout. The kitchen is comfortably sized with easy access to storage and appliance. It is fully stocked with dishes, small appliances and cooking utensils.
The living area is open and airy with a fabulous view of the ocean. The sofa is a queen sleeper. The kitchen was updated at the end of 2016. Other amenities include a large flat screen TV, DVD player and highspeed wireless Internet access.
The Captain's Court complex is small and intimate with only 32 units yet it is next door to the Omni hotel and very close to all the amenities of the resort. The complex has its own pool and tennis court as well. The unit is situated on the top and side of a sand dune and there are stairs from the parking lot to the unit. The unit is split-level and also include stairs. It is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Loved this place, except all the stairs.
Lots of stairs going up but if you go to 3rd set, not as many. We didnt realize that the unit also has 3 floors, so basically you go up to go down... great location, beautiful condo, close to shope and restaurants on site. Falcons Nest was good.
The pool was also clean and refreshing

Great location with stunning ocean views. Was very well kept and clean. Also liked the fact it had 24 hour security gate. Nature trails were great to jog on. Great stay.

Best spot to stay in Amelia Island

This is a very cute, well-appointed condo with stunning ocean views. The lower level patio lets out to a beautiful green space and connects to the beach path in seconds. We had a short stay, but there is much to explore around the Omni. You do need to go down a number of stairs from the parking, which was fine for my family but may be tricky for others.

We had a few small issues (washing machine wouldn't start, internet went out) and the property manager Jennifer was incredibly responsive. She came to the condo twice to help with the washer and found out about the internet outage quickly. Issues are bound to arise and we are grateful she handled to quickly and effectively.

We love Amelia island, and this condo was exactly as described. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The view from this condo is spectacular because you are looking at a beautiful green space with grass and palm trees then out to the beautiful ocean. Walk to beach was easy as could be! Beach was peaceful and fairly empty. Very windy due to storm that passed through. Condo nicely stocked. Only comment is there is no place to rinse feet and beach supplies when leaving beach. Beds and furniture all very comfortable.

This is the third time we have stayed in this unit. It has a perfect location, with an uncrowded beach. It is nicely set up, with a lovely view of the ocean, sunrises and sunsets. Convenient to Fernandina and great places to eat. We will be back!

The views don't disappoint at this cozy condo. We loved seeing the beach and the ocean from the main living area and patio. That was definitely the highlight of our weeklong stay. We brought our small dog along and met many other dogs while we were there. We also met many tortoises and gekkos on our walks around the property. It's a nature lover's paradise!
The condo was comfortable, but seemed cramped for four adults and a baby. The condo is set up on 3 levels. The entrance is on the top level, then the main level is down a set of steps, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are on the lowest level. Many previous guests have commented on the number of stairs you have to ascend to reach the condo. I would have to agree. With two separate families, and one with an infant, we had a LOT of things to carry up (and down) all those stairs and it was not fun.
We experienced a couple of other issues during our stay. The Captain's Court pool was closed for 3 days of our stay, and without any advance notice. We contacted the management company to see if we could use another pool on the property, but they were not able to get us access. That was a disappointment, as access to the pool was one reason we booked this condo. In addition, an animal had been digging up the lawn adjoining our patio. It was a little difficult to navigate around the holes at night when we took our dog out for a walk.
We loved visiting Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach, but the stay was not what we'd hoped for.

Enjoyed the unit. Everything was as advertised. Nice sturdy patio furniture. Sunrises spectacular. Very quiet with ready access to beachfront. Walked beach every morning
43 steps will tire you but once you get there all good.
Also code for door hit home after putting in code to both open and close

This is a very nice rental. The view from the living room and kitchen was outstanding. Our dog loved the grassy areas on two levels. The steps getting to the condo were only a problem getting two weeks worth of stuff lugged in and out, but we were aware of them beforehand. The condo is three levels so a lot of up and down from one room to the next.

My wife and I (plus our Labradoodle) stayed for 3 nights in late December. Other reviews describe the property perfectly. We enjoyed the quiet beaches and our dog loved the beach walks. Property can be tricky to find initially but directions and Omni security staff are very helpful.
Now, onto the reason for the 2-star review. After checking out on-time we were driving home that same day. A property manager calls me and asks if we took a "Coral Pillow", as she can't find it in the condo. She said it was an accent pillow that was on the bed in the master bedroom. The manager got a little snooty with us after we told her that a) we didn't remember seeing a coral pillow, and b) we definitely didn't take anything from the condo that wasn't ours. Fast-forward 24 hours later, I get an email from VRBO saying the rental company is charging me an extra $20 for the accent pillow. Basically, that's accusing me of theft since you couldn't find a pillow!!! I called the rental company back, no response for a few days. In the mean-time, I opened a complaint ticket with VRBO. In conclusion, I get a call a few days later from the same manager, saying that her laundry crew found the pillow (it was thrown in the laundry with the bedsheets) and that she's very sorry. I'd like to think that after we get charged a $300 cleaning+pet fee and are guests at the property, we'd at least get the benefit of the doubt before just assuming we stole a silly accent pillow, but apparently not. The $20 charge was refunded. We won't be staying here again and will avoid the property management company going forward.

Temperatures were expected to drop and stay in the 20s over the Christmas weekend during our stay. The Thursday prior I realized the HVAC system was not working properly. Called the property manager, while spending the day in St. Augustine, and asked for assistance with getting the heater fixed. Within three hours she had a repairman on site and resolved this issue. We were nice and toasty the rest of our stay. I wish I could get a technician to respond that quickly at home.
This was our second stay at this property, and even with the cold weather (for Florida) we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The home is cozy and the location to the beach couldn't be better. It was very quiet and at night we sat out back and listened to the waves crash. Our host was accomidating and easy to communicate with.

This is our third time staying here and it does not disappoint! The condo is clean and well appointed. The location is great being so close to such a clean and less populated beach. The property managers make everything comfortable and easy for your stay. We look forward to next year.

Great Location, Beautiful View, OK Condo
The location of this condo is perfect. The view of the Atlantic is breathtaking. The cleanliness was simply ok. A lot of mold was found on the shower curtains. Kids needed to sleep on the pullout sofa and when we pulled it out, sand and dirt existed. We vacuumed the couch but ultimately did not feel comfortable letting them sleep there. They ended up sleeping on top of the couch and love seat. Both are 5'6" so it wasn't the most ideal situation. The Drip coffer maker was broken but was replaced in a decent time frame. The Keurig needed to be descaled. Also, just so future renters know, this is on the first floor but there are at least two flights of stairs to get to the condo (it sits on a hill) from the parking lot with no elevators. We travelled with a 90 year old. She held her own but we will more than likely not be back.

Beautiful property
We had a very nice stay! The condo was nicely decorated and thought was given for necessities. I do think it’s important to note the number of stairs that are involved in getting to the condo. We were in and out a lot so it was noticeable, but just an inconvenience. If you’re planning to stay put and use the beach, it’s ideal. No steps from the condo, just straight out the sliding doors.

Perfect in every way !
We’d rather keep it a secret then maybe we would be able to come back to this wonderful, magical spot ! But if you can climb 40 steps up and appreciate watching and listening to the beautiful ocean then this is your kind of place.

Great ocean views and great for pets
We thoroughly enjoyed having our coffee on the patio in the morning and loved the ocean views. Walking on the beach was great and the entire area is very dog friendly. Great place to stay.

Great location and view, difficult access
Nice unit, great location. Be aware that you have to go up about 40 stairs from parking lot. Seniors should be aware of this.

Beautiful beach condo!!
Beautiful condo right on the beach! Great location, pet friendly and a very comfortable place for family to gather!

my 2 cents
Had a great stay. Condo appeared to not have been rented/lived in a few months (from cleanliness perspective.) The MB bed was uncomfortable and would recommend an upgrade/new mattress. The condo access was less than desired. Even using the service drive to load/unload luggage, coolers, etc. , it made for a difficult / time consuming effort. Nothing you can do about it but should be shared in property description. Overall, lovely condo and great access to beach. Thank you

Birthday trip
We come to Amelia Island at least 3 times a year and I’ve rented many rental properties. Patti’s condo was by far the most perfect yet! It’s so close to the beach you can open the sliding door and hear the waves while you fix a meal in the kitchen; a brief walk has you sitting ocean side; the property is very accessible and close to our favorite restaurants; any issues we had were dealt with promptly. I give this 10/5 stars because it was such a wonderful experience and we will be renting this property for every trip to AI now!!

Always the best
This is the second time we have stayed in this unit and probably won't be the last! It is beautifully furnished, clean and privately located. The beach is never crowded and neighbors are practically non-existent. We can bring our small dogs and it is a short walk to the beach. There is a grassy area outside the main level convenient for pets. Short drive to restaurants and shops. We love Amelia!

Second Time Stay
This was our second time staying at this property and it was just as wonderful as last time. The location is perfect with great accommodations. We look forward to being there again next year!

Beautiful place
Very private and clean. Amazing views. Pool was either empty or just a couple people there. Beach isn’t packed with plenty of beach space. Renting a golf cart to view the island was great! Only negatives was the TV was old styled, washer and dryer older style, blender didn’t work. Worth every penny and will be returning.

Family Vacation 2021
Patti’s property is amazing! The condo has anything and everything you could need. The views were the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. This was our first visit to Amelia Island, and it will not be our last. We would love to visit this condo again. Best vacation ever!
