Pauline is a wonderful host and the cottage is beautiful, well appointed and maintained. Very clean. Great walking distance to the Shaw and bike trails are nearby.

Pauline was an amazing host for us and our two dogs.
Great secure back yard and garden!

This charming property is in a perfect location. It is cozy and has everything you need. Beautiful garden and Pauline, the host, is lovely. She was so wonderful to our dog giving her home baked cookies and lots of love. We would definitely recommend. Thank you for the fabulous weekend.

From the moment we were warmly greeted by tge host, Pauline, we felt right at home in this lovely, quiet and peaceful cottage. We had our dog with us and he was treated like a special guest, which was very much appreciated. (He wanted to mention he's rating Pauline's homemade busquits a solid 11/10.) It is wonderfuly situated with lots of beautiful places to walk, as well as close to the main street in town if you wanted to leave the car behind. Thanks for a wonderful stay and we hope to return!

It was good but quite small rooms. Wifi was patchy, didn’t work from one of the bedrooms.
Good location.
Large enclosed patio area.

Pauline greeted us upon arrival and even had a homemade treat for Ernie. She showed us around and had everything ready so that we would be comfortable. We had told her that we ride bikes so she showed us where to put them inside the carport/sunroom. That was also a lovely place to eat breakfast. The ride downtown was only .7 miles on the bike. What a beautiful city!

The cottage was very clean. We loved the location and the spacious sunroom.

This cottage is in a beautiful neighborhood and is smaller but clean. However, I don’t think this should be a Vrbo because the owner lives in an attached part of the cottage. It was fine for our stay, but the purpose of Vrbo is you get the property to yourself which clearly wasn’t the case l.

My partner and I just returned from a 4 night stay at Alnwick Cottage. I’ve stayed at this cottage a few times before and, as usual, it did not disappoint. It is perfectly situated within walking distance to a number of locations, including the old town. It is in a quiet neighborhood. The cottage is clean and comfortable. The gardens are beautiful and very peaceful. A great spot to relax and have a drink. The hosts are quick to respond or assist, when needed. Thanks Pauline and Clair!

Oh so Niagara on the lake. Well cared for “cottage” with all amenities and lovely gardens. Close to festival theatre, trails and wineries. Not an unreasonable walk to old downtown

The distance to the theater was longer than we expected but the parking was terrific

I enjoyed staying at the cottage, which has a quaint old english charm, but more-so enjoyed the garden. The back garden is lush and peaceful, as well as being fully fenced. It was the perfect place to decompress with my dog.

The quaint and cozy atmosphere of the cottage and the meticulously tended gardens, with tinkling fountains, made our stay truly memorable. We appreciated Pauline’s many special touches including cold water and treats for our Yorkie, Lily Anna, upon our arrival. Highly recommended!

Had an amazing three days staying in Niagra on the Lake. Pauline is an amazing hostess and gardner! The grounds were amazing and beautiful. The cottage had everything we needed and was only a few blocks from the heart of downtown, the lake and fort. We are already talking of returning here for a quick getaway to tour some wineries!

A wonderful stay, an outstanding host and a beautiful cottage with a secret garden. We loved our stay this past weekend. Our host was most gracious and welcoming. Pauline made sure everything was in good order and really made our stay comfortable and welcoming. I would highly recommend this host for anyone looking for time away in Niagara on the Lake.

Our dog joined us on our little get-away. Pauline was a great hostess, greeting us upon our arrival and giving Lucy treats, each time she saw her. And, she was anxious to walk Lucy for us when we were out antiquing, shopping or eating.
The accommodations were cozy and comfortable. Just the right size for the two of us. It was a little too chilly to sit on the screened porch, but that was quite alright. I'm sure in warmer weather it would have been a delightful space to relax. Pauline's gardens are beautiful and the fenced yard was a great place for Lucy to run and get some exercise.
We had a grand time! Would like to return.

We hadn't been to the region in over 5 years, but finding Pauline's place to stay helped to make us feel a warm welcome back! The cottage is in a wonderful location, was clean and well appointed. My dog enjoyed a home-baked special pumpkin and peanut butter treat upon arrival and as we were preparing to leave. The gardens and fully fenced in back yard gave the dog some fun places to explore and a beautiful site to our eyes too! We will gladly stay here again when we are able to return to Niagara on the Lake!

This is a delightful gem. If you were looking for something sleek and modern, then this would not be suitable but for those looking for a place with character and wonderful gardens to enjoy, then this is the place to be.

The description of the site matched exactly as how we found the place. Great for 3-4 people. Everything we needed was supplied. The sun room/car port provided a lovely space for extra room when we had friends visit for a couple of hours. We did need to drive to town as the walk was too much for us. Pauline was a lovely host and allowed us to check out a little later which was nice.

At first I thought it would be a difficult unit to truthfully evaluate as we had just come from a super modern unit north of Toronto with all mod-cons, super big TV, washer/dryer etc to Pauline's unit which is almost the opposite. The unit is bijou, probably overfurnished for its size. The bedrooms are quite "cosy" and the unit is, I would say, more suited to 2 people rather than 4 but if a couple with small children it could be OK. Without doubt the unit is clean and very well equipped. The TV is small but anything bigger would not suit the size of the rooms. There is AC in one bedroom which would be a bit on the noisy side if running during the night and the WiFi was quite weak. The "CarPort" I think should be renamed. It's a very large area previously used as a car port but now transformed into a very large relaxing / lounge area perfect for breakfast, lunch & dinner and, in reality, should be renamed "Conservatory" or something similar as its fully enclosed and furnished and never been used to shelter a car for many years. If there was a 4.5 star thats how I would rate it but as the rooms are small and the wifi weak it therefore has to be 4 stars.

This English cottage was perfect for my husband, me, and our dog. Pauline went above and beyond to accommodate us. It was so clean and cozy. My dog loved the homemade biscuits! The English gardens outside are beautiful especially in the evening with the twinkling lights.
The screened-in carport is huge and perfect for relaxing or eating. The location is great for walking into town or walking nearby trails. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a nice stay at Pauline's unit this weekend. The rooms are on the small side, but it worked for our party of four. The gardens around the property are stunning! Because the weather was rainy, we used the seating and table in the carport/screen porch quite a bit.
The kitchen is very tiny, but we did make one dinner in it.
It was just far enough from downtown NOTL at about .8 mile for us to have to drive in to town.
Overall, it worked, but it's probably more comfortable for just two people.

Pauline was very friendly and made us and our 4 year old Bernedoodle feel very welcome. Homemade doggy bisquit for Sophie as soon as we arrived 😀. The property was beautiful and the backyard was very relaxing to wind down or plan the rest of your stay while the breeze rustles the leaves and greenery of the amazing backyard. We stayed for 2 nights and wished we booked a 3rd night but will definitely stay at Pauline's next year. Everything you need is within 1 to 5 km away. We went to a dog friendly pub close by and we golfed 9 holes the next day. Everything you need for your stay is available at Pauline's, plus wifi and cable tv with Crave which was a nice little bonus. The sunroom is very nice and relaxing too! Nothing but big thanks to Pauline and her husband. Tim, Gorete and Sophie...see you next year!

My sister and I spent two wonderful days together in Niagara on the Lake at Pauline's cottage. We followed the GPS directions and easily found her home. The suite is attached to her place with a lovely large vestibule greeting us as we entered. Very open and airy, with lots of seating and a perfect place for morning coffee. Pauline greeted us when we arrived, showed us the suite which wasbetter than we could imagine. Two beautifully decorated bedrooms, a livingroom, a fully supplied kitchen, and bathroom with towels galore. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows and place to unpack and store our clothes.
Pauline decorated the suite very tastefully with pictures, trinkets, and items from around the world. Wifi worked well in the livingroom. She had books and maps available about NOTL and its surroundings. But the absolute best feature were her gardens. I have never seen such a beautiful, well kept, interesting backyard. There were walking paths, benches, trinkets and lushes plants wherever you looked. Alas, it had rained heavily prior to our arrival, so we could not sit out in the garden, but we were amazed at its beauty. Pauline is a superb host and if ever we are in the area, we definitely know where to stay.

Lovely location. Its great to visit Niagara Falls and wineries. Clean well looked after property. Would recommend for a couple and upto 2 children. Maybe 2 couples could be a bit cozy. The extension to stay in is at the back of the main cottage seen in the photo with 2 small cozy bedrooms, a neat like lounge and kitchenette and attached bathroom with a converted car port used as a living area which is very handy to sit out and relax. The garden area at the back is very nice as well. Overall a convenient and handy stay for 2-3 days.

We highly recommend this accommodation based on location to the downtown area of Niagara on the Lake, the quietness of the property, cleanliness, layout inside the property, excellent host that greeted us on arrival and the pricing.
This well exceeded our expectations.
Many thanks.
