We very much enjoyed this property! Perfect location in Beaufort’s historic district…close walking distance to town and waterfront park. This cottage has tasteful decor and furnishings…it’s better than the photos. The owner is a sweet southern lady that is very accommodating and easy to work with. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in the ground floor space of the charming two-story carriage house. The property was immaculately clean and fresh, and had everything we needed. The shaded porch had rocking chairs to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful gardens. The location is perfect - close to Bay Street in the heart of the historic district. We will stay again when we return to Beaufort!

We enjoyed staying at this property. The cottage had all that we needed: clean bathroom, kitchen, living space, bedroom. Within walking distance to downtown but as my husband has a disability we drove the 4-5 blocks to get to the shopping end of Bay St. Easy parking. Recommend.

We had a great time! The property is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. A short walk into Beaufort to enjoy the sights, food, and shopping. They had a music festival that we enjoyed as well. Would definitely recommend the home and area to visit. Even though the house was close to the town, there were no noise issues. Thanks!!

My sister and I were first timers in Beaufort, SC. We stayed at the gorgeous carriage house at the corner of Craven and Newcastle streets. The housing was more than we even expected—spotlessly clean, beautiful antique furnishings, comfortable beds, AC worked great, and beautifully appointed, including some of the host’s original artwork. We can’t wait to return!!

This was the cleanest, most accommodating VRBO home we’ve stayed in. We were in the lower part of the Carriage House. It was beautiful and quaint. Ellen and Mike leave you wanting for nothing. Everything you need and even the things you didn’t know you forgot were available. So easy to walk the 2 blocks to town. Would and hope to stay again.

We spent a long weekend in the lower apartment at the Bluff. The space is beautiful and very comfortable, and our hosts were welcoming and gracious. We loved staying in a gorgeous downtown neighborhood just a short walk away from the waterfront and so many shops and great restaurants. Loved sitting on the porch and seeing the magnificent live oak trees all around us. I would highly recommend the Bluff.

My sister and I stayed in this pretty updated carriage house just a few blocks from town. We were on the first floor there is another separate 2 bedroom on the second floor. Each have their own front porch, with access to the patio shown in the photos. Ellen and her husband were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable as was the entire space with nice antique period furnishings. We will definitely book this carriage house again! Many thanks!

The property is awesome, the family that owns and operates it is wonderful and the location is perfect. Cannot say enough great things about our stay. The grounds are beautiful and the unit we stayed in is perfect for three adults. It is comfortable and completely equipped - everything with a perfect touch of "southern" hospitality. We loved it and would book it again and again and again!

This is such a beautiful location and property! The owners provide an immaculate and lovely decorated rental property! My daughter and her bridesmaids rented both units for her wedding weekend. The space and location were absolutely perfect for walking or driving the golf cart to locations downtown! A safe and lovely rental hosted by gracious owners! Just lovely! Both units provide gorgeous and relaxing interiors!

We loved staying in Ellen‘s carriage house. It is beautiful and very comfortable. It is outfitted with everything you need. The beds are comfortable. There is also a sweet neighborhood cat named Kip who visited every morning. There is plenty of space for a couple with beautiful outdoor space as well. The main historic residence is stunning!! It’s also located in the perfect location nestled in the historic neighborhood of downtown Beaufort and a very short walk to restaurants and shops and the bay. We spent an entire day touring the neighborhood on foot and looking at all of the beautiful homes. I would recommend renting a bicycle, we would definitely do that on her next visit. We spoke with a couple of the neighbors who were very friendly and ended the afternoon perusing antique shops and having a wonderful lunch in one of the local restaurants. We spent another day kayaking through the marsh and watching dolphins. We are from Atlanta and are used to being very cautious in our community. In Beaufort we did not have to worry about safety. This enabled us to relax and enjoy our stay much more. Our mother-in-law lives in Beaufort and we will definitely stay in the carriage house during any subsequent visits. I highly recommend Ellen’s beautiful carriage house!

I was a great location! We could walk to dinner every night to some of the best restaurants in Beaufort. It was an easy walk during the day to all of the shops along the main street. Glass of wine at the end of the day sitting out on the front patio made everything perfect!
