About this cottage rental
Adorable cottage with all the comforts of home. Within walking distance to shopping, dining and the waterfront park of Beaufort, SC.
I have been a Airbnb and VRBO host for over 10 years, I know what you want.
This adorable home is a quirky little 2 bedroom 1 bath 1940's cottage located in the heart of Historic Downtown Beaufort.
We have completed the addition of a beautiful, private, back yard patio. Duke Cottage is adjacent to our other property, Baby Charles, VRBO #2512260. We have our Health and Fitness Destination, #2577085, just 4 houses from the Spanish Moss Trail in the Hermitage Neighborhood.
From this location, you can easily walk to our gorgeous waterfront park where there are lots of restaurants, galleries, and shops. There are porch swings lining the waterfront and it is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the ‘yacht parade’ on the Beaufort River, which is part of the Intracoastal Waterway. The Point neighborhood, filled with antebellum mansions used in the filming of many movies, is just 4 blocks to the east and a wonderful area for leisurely strolls.
Inside the house there is central AC (and heat), as well as whisper quiet ceiling fans in the living room and both bedrooms. It has a cozy living room with a 40' Sony Bravia flat panel TV, HD cable and a DVD player.
The kitchen is large and bright and has been completely redone with a glass top electric range, dishwasher, and refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, and a stacked washer/dryer unit. All cabinets and countertops are new, with a deep stainless steel sink and a pull down spray faucet. All pots, pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, and necessary gadgets are provided - as are small appliances like a coffee maker, toaster, blender, and a hand mixer. The kitchen is also stocked with staples such as salt and pepper, coffee, tea, and sugar - just to name some. We found a cute little 'nesting' table and 2 chairs for casual dining.
The Dining Room has large windows on 2 walls. The dining table is round glass and seats 4 comfortably. There is a lovely curved metal chandelier for ambience.
The master bedroom has a 2011 Sealy Posturepedic mattress and boxspring with 100% cotton high thread sheets and fluffy new pillows. We have switched out all of our Queen bedding to white European Duvet & Shams during the cooler months - IF we have any - so there will still be the high thread count sheets, but instead of our white cotton Matelassé Coverlets, now you will have a duvet cover and shams. These are washed and changed between guest. It's more work, but it as we discovered, it is a better sleeping experience!
The second bedroom has a single bed with the same mattress, except that it is a twin. We tried having a trundle, but it is too cramped to be comfortable, so the house is limited to 3 guests.
There is one bathroom, and while it isn't large, it is bright and fresh and comes stocked with plenty of 100% cotton fluffy towels. Amenities and a blow dryer are also provided.
The private patio has a dining table with 4 chairs and an umbrella, and 2 chaise lounges and a huge umbrella at the other end. It is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Wonderful location, great property management & attention to details made for an enjoyable trip. Not sure how no one noticed or commented in the reviews about how the house has nothing level about it. Every room drops off in multiple directions. This made for some interesting times, especially getting up in the night for the bathroom. The bed that’s written up as being wonderful is really just old and lumpy. Add it to the slanted room and we didn’t get much sleep. But we did have an enjoyable time. I hate leaving reviews, especially about not as positive experiences, but I felt the reviews posted were not 100% accurate.

Perfect for walking downtown and driving to the beach and farmers market. Everything we needed was in cottage, including recommendations for local activities and restaurants. Easy booking and communication with host. Thank you!

Peaceful, quaint little home in the beautiful historic Beaufort area! Short walking distance to fantastic food, shopping, waterfront parks! Home had plenty of towels, blankets, and pillows. Comfortable furniture. Enjoyed lounging. Despite being close to the road, the house was quiet. Such a comfortable, clean stay. Highly recommend 💕

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage in the heart of Beaufort. It was the perfect location to be able to walk to everything we wanted to visit in downtown Beaufort and a short drive to everything else, including Hunting Island Beach State Park. It was such a nice perk that the stay included a pass to the state park which saved us hassle and money.

Not the best section of town/ home across the street has lots of garbage/ very mixed neighborhood of nice homes and others in disrepair and others boarded up
Inside of the home had slopped floors and needed a good paint job in places.

Duke cottage was an amazing stay! It was so sweet, quiet and vintage. We were in the perfect place to get to and from Parris Island for MCRD Graduation. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our two dogs. We even had some fighter jets fly over! A total of 4 went by at a low altitude! We could see everything! Definitly would consider going back again.

Home was very clean and well appointed. Bed was beautifully made and comfortable. Fenced back yard was great for our little Corgi. Duke Cottage was within walking distance to downtown and several eateries.
One slight concern was that the tub drains extremely slow. The plunger that we found in a closet was useless(broken). This would not keep us from recommending the Duke Cottage, however. We would stay again!

Great little 2 BR house for our family of 3. Fenced yard was great for our 2 dogs. Walkable location to waterfront. We would totally stay again!

We loved staying at the cottage. We were able to walk to virtually everything and the binder provided by the host was filled with great suggestions for food and excursions. The home was clean and well kept with a cute, fenced in backyard. We will definitely stay again.

We loved our stay. The place was super clean and the lights were even on for us when arrived. Neighbors are nice folks. The house is small but was all we needed for a great long weekend. It is evident that these folks know how to host. I hope they will have us back in the near future.

Charming house, clean as a whistle, comfy, with everything you could possibly need. We (and our 2 dogs) really enjoyed the lovely fenced patio area in back. Superb location, walking distance to downtown/waterfront park. Beautiful views to take in on neighborhood walks! We had a question the first night (not urgent), Melissa responded within minutes with a smile and made us feel at home. Wonderful stay all around!

The house was very clean. The backyard worked out fine for our dog. It was only a 12 minutes walk to Main Street. We used the park pass, which is a great idea to provide for your customers!

We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage location was perfect for walking downtown and the neighborhood was great for walking the dogs. We loved exploring all the old cemeteries and houses in the neighborhood.
The house was very clean and cozy and perfect for the two of us and our 2 pups. We visited lots of shops and restaurants. We highly recommend eating at Lost Local Mexican restaurant. Everything we tried on the menu was delicious but you have to get the shrimp appetizer! Best fried shrimp I’ve had in years! And if you are a book lover you need to visit “Nevermore” bookstore. An amazing used book store. Both places are walkable from the cottage.

We had a lovely stay at the Duke Cottage. It was comfortable, clean, and just right for me, my baby, and my mom to be cozy during our stay. The beds were super comfy! Even when we had a plumbing issue after midnight, the homeowner was kind and responsive to our needs. Will definitely try to stay here again if I’m traveling with my small family. Such a cute place!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We enjoyed our 7 week stay at the Duke Cottage very much. A great location that makes the downtown extremely walkable. While a smaller cottage, it has everything you would need for a wonderful time in Beaufort. Very function and cute. Manager Melissa is simply outstanding and only adds to the enjoyment of your stay..

We stayed a long weekend to visit Beaufort for the first time. The location was perfect to walk anywhere you wanted to go... Easy to downtown restaurants, the waterfront park, and the Old Point historic district. The owners were great to communicate with before and after our visit. Plus it was pet friendly.

Despite unbelievable cold weather the management worked to make us as comfortable as possible. I was awed at their commitment to us. The unit was cozy. It was probably one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in a long time. The walking distance was perfect to town. We had a wonderful time visiting with friends.

This is a great little house that’s perfect for our needs. It’s in a great location, short walk to downtown. It was cozy and inviting and had everything we needed. Enjoyed sitting out back In the evening for a glass of wine.

This is a clean, neat and tidy, charming little cottage. Anything we needed was found in this house. We parked our car and walked everywhere! The historic neighborhood was so peaceful. This home sits a few blocks away from the waterfront area where there is a beautiful park, great shopping, a good variety of restaurants, and tours of the area. We had to work around hurricane Ian but the property manager was excellent at communicating and working with us to delay our visit. Though this is an older home with the inherent quirkiness of such, I would definitely stay here again.

this was perfect for me and my dog for this trip, altho the yard was a bit small. my dog is used to running around, so we went to the dog park! was a short walk to the waterfront.
