Enjoy a cup of tea snuggled up in one of the bench seats. Cook a gourmet meal in the fully-appointed kitchen. Feel the warmth from the wood-burning stove and the radiant-heated floors. Appreciate the views of Mount Vision from the private deck. Listen to the sound of the birds as you soak in the hot tub. Relax in the peace and tranquility.
This and much more is Yvetot Guest House. Designed and built from largely recycled materials in 2003 by our architect son to accommodate visits from our ever-growing family, it is truly a magical place which we love to share. It is ideal for couples, family vacations and anyone seeking a quiet retreat, but is not suitable for parties or group gatherings.
Yvetot is a mile up from the town of Inverness and close to ocean-side and bay-side beaches. Hiking trails abound from just up the street and you are minutes away from the spectacular beauty of Point Reyes National Seashore.
The house, which is 800 square feet, comfortably sleeps six people: two in the master bedroom and four in the 'children's room' - two twin beds and two twin futons with sleeping bags in the loft.
Yvetot has Wifi, plenty of DVD's, CD's to play on the Bose music system (into which you can plug your phone/tablet), books, games and toys to entertain everyone.
Come and have a wonderful time!

My partner and I had a most wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. We enjoyed the well-designed, warm space and all its thoughtful touches. The views off the deck were incredible, and we so enjoyed spending mornings reading books with our coffee and watching the fog and mist move through the trees. We really loved the hot tub for peaceful soaks, and the location couldn't be better. The coffee maker was an extra favorite (we are inspired to buy the same for home). We also so enjoyed chatting with Mike, and are so glad we followed so many of his tips-- we saw endless whales out by the lighthouse on our first early evening, and had a picnic at the lovely Shell Beach after Mike shared it was a beloved spot. Mike's wife even came by to drop off binoculars for us. Such lovely people, and a very special, perfect spot to begin the road tip where we got engaged. We already shared the listing (and so many photos) with friends and family who we know will adore this home like we did, and we already cannot wait to return. Cheers!

Staying with with Mike and Catherine at Yvetot is so special. The home is comfortable, beautiful and one of the most thought out spaces we’ve ever been in. Mike and Catherine are total gems. We feel so lucky to have visited many times for the peace and calm (coming from the city!) and we can’t wait to return again.

My family of 5 had a wonderful time here! The cabin is secluded, cozy, unique and in the most beautiful setting! We hiked, relaxed on the deck and in the cabin, explored the coastline, Point Reyes Station and Inverness. A great little getaway! Mike couldn’t have been more welcoming or gracious! A perfect host! Highly recommend choosing this property!

Thank you, Mike and Catherine, for providing a magical stay at Yvetot yet again. I’m so grateful for the time spent here!!

My wife and I have stayed at Yvetot many times. We always love it. The view of the empty hills, with the fog rolling in, is incomparable. It's quiet, except for the wind and the woodpeckers (and an occasional plane very high in the sky). Great kitchen, comfy bed. And serene!

Wow what a great spot! We came for a long weekend with our 5 and 2 year old. The home is very secluded away from the main house with beautiful mountain views and dark night skies to view stars. The fire road and trails just up the road provided a great winter's walk with little streams, ferns and tree tunnels.
The home itself is a beautiful modern home with reclaimed wood detailing, comfortable radiant heated floors, cute sleeping lofts for kids, and an extremely well appointed kitchen suitable for some serious cooking.
Kids appreciated the hot tub!

We could not be happier with our stay at Yvetot. The home was just as described; it’s a beautiful cabin with an easy flow, a great kitchen to cook in surrounded by a beautiful forest. Our hosts were available to answer our questions. It was clear that they are personally invested in the property. We also enjoyed walking our dogs around the neighborhood. I cannot recommend this rental more.

This cottage is beautifully appointed, serene, quiet, and relaxing. It's our favorite get-away spot from Berkeley, one hour and 15 minutes of an easy drive, right by Pt. Reyes National Park. The views of the rolling hills are lovely. The stars at night––amazing.

Small house is situated with many views on a lot that is far enough from the main house to be quite private. There is a hiking trail walkable from the house to the trailhead.
The house has a well stocked kitchen with adequate pots and dishes. The main bedroom is charming, including views and a comfortable bed. We will return to this wonderful spot.

This was our second stay at Yvetot. The moment we walked up the path we breathed a relaxing sigh, knowing we are about to enter a special world. Yvetot delivered! The home is surrounded by many species of birds visible from the deck, and highlighted by Acorn Woodpeckers pecking holes in the trees nearby. The outdoor shower, watching the sunset from the hot tub, home cooked meals in the perfectly-outfitted kitchen, a great night’s sleep, and chats w/ the delightful owners, Katherine & Mike. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect escape from city life. And, we had fabulous hiking at our three favorite Pt. Reyes hikes, all w/ easy proximity to Yvetot. We can’t wait to return!

This is the most special vacation rental home we have ever experienced (and I have traveled all around the world). The location up on a hill has a gorgeous view of the forest, hills, and birds. It reminded us of being at a mini Esalen or an eco-lodge in Costa Rica or Dominica. Mike was an incredibly friendly and welcoming host. My husband and I hope to return many times with our children over the years!

Yvetot is just the kind of place we look for. Super quiet, private and has everything you need. The view is wonderful, the outdoor shower sublime and the hot tub....
WOW! Kitchen is fully supplied with all the trimmings.
The main bed is very comfortable affording a good nights rest. We cooked up yummy salmon and chicken thighs on the Weber! The hosts are very welcoming and make you feel like part of the family. Can't WAIT to go back!

Our visit at Yvetot was just what we had imagined —an oasis away from city life with all the charm and beauty one could imagine. Mike and Catherine are great hosts

What a joy! The setting and the view, from the deck, are breathtaking. You could easily prepare meals in the well-appointed kitchen. Coffee in the fridge and even some spices. Bed was great, and heated floors. If you have a dog, don't miss the fire-trail. Catherine and Mike are respectful and helpful

We just love Mike and Catherine’s beautiful guest home and have already booked our visit for next spring. Beautiful house, beautiful surroundings, solitude throughout — a little slice of paradise.

What an amazing little cabin in the woods! Everything is beautifully and lovingly handcrafted. The layout is perfect and we loved the deck (and the visiting deer), the kitchen (love the raw edge, handmade wood counter tops), the many window seats, and the surrounding environment. It's a real gem. Mike and Catherine were both wonderful hosts. We went on some spectacular hikes (so many wildflowers at Tomales Point Trail), did some stargazing, and appreciated the downtime away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. We can't wait to return.

This may be our fourth time at Yvetot. It's my favorite spot EVER. It's quiet, peaceful, beautiful. The space is Zen-like: simple, clean, visually lovely.

We first stayed at Yvetot nearly ten years ago and have intended to return ever since then, but life has a tendency to get away from you. So glad we finally got a trip on the calendar—it’s just as wonderful as we remembered! This time we came with two tweens and a puppy in tow. It’s a great house for both kids and dogs, with a sweet loft room and plenty of toys and games. (Our 11-year-old had a blast recreating old photos of himself as a toddler playing in the house with some of the same toys on our first visit!) The house itself is skillfully designed for privacy and to capture the beauty of the surrounding area. We cooked most nights and found the kitchen well equipped. Inverness is nicely located for trips out to Point Reyes or into Point Reyes Station or the other side of Tomales Bay. Kehoe Beach, the fire trail up the street from the house, and Millerton Point were all great for dogs. All in all, a terrific, if too brief, visit. Hoping we make it back sooner rather than later next time (as Mike said, at least before the kids head off to college!) Thanks for a great visit!

Yvetot was the perfect home base for a week in Point Reyes. A lovely cabin, perched in the hills above Inverness, complete with hot tub and wood burning stove. A beautiful view of the forest and hills. Secluded and private. And Mike is a lovely host. We could not have been happier with our stay.

Thank you Mike and Catherine for a wonderful stay at Yvetot. It was beyond all our expectations. So clean, comfortable, and cosy. We will be back! Thanks for being such warm and welcoming hosts.

Quiet and secluded, this cottage was built to take full advantage of the site. There are many windows and great views. The cottage is very efficient with radiant heat in the floors and lots of recessed lighting. There is hiking right from the cottage with a hot tub and outdoor shower to enjoy when you return.

We selected this rental as a home base for day trips with our family in the Point Reyes area but it was such a comfortable place inside and out that we ended up spending a lot of time at the property. The photos don’t do the place justice. It’s high quality and clearly an extension of the family’s home for guests.

One of the all time best vacation rental experiences we’ve had. As others note the home is even better than it looks in the pictures. I thought it would be more of a cute cottage, but it feels much more expansive in real life. The home is beautifully designed, surrounded by astounding views and nature and appointed with heirloom quality furnishings. Every detail is just perfect, but very cozy and not precious. Loved the warm wood interior, Japanese design influences, gorgeous ceramics and the reading nooks with picture windows. It’s the kind of vacation home you actually want to spend most of your time in despite the great sight seeing all around. The kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped -we made a few big meals, cocktails, etc and we wanted for no tool or dish. It has every crab and oyster accoutrement, multiple cocktail shakers, even a dishwasher. Mike and Catherine are great hosts. One afternoon the power went out due to winds knocking a power line over and they made sure we had everything we needed until the power came back on at around 9 pm. Honestly we enjoyed the power outage! Yvetot was at its most romantic by the light of the wood burning stove! We hope to return again!

Even though it rained, we had a wonderful time at Yvetot. The house is a beautiful, peaceful retreat. We look forward to coming back again.

We're here to tell you that being in Inverness in the rain is wonderful. We were here for New Years 2022, from Thursday to Sunday New Year's Day. The only time it cleared was on New Year's Day, but the rain didn't matter at all. The view is so gorgeous, the house so beautiful and serene...we had a lovely, peaceful time.

We had a great weekend at Yvetot, a perfect home base for some hiking, biking, cooking and relaxing over Christmas weekend. The cabin has everything you need and is very warm and cozy. Check in and check out were seamless. Communication with Mike and Catherine was great, quick to respond and address my questions, in addition to being very friendly, greeting us on arrival and coming by to wish a merry Christmas. Location is great, walkable (albeit somewhat long and steep) to a small grocery store and a couple restaurants, and a short drive to lots more, including Point Reyes Station. The house is up a steep hill and the driveway is also steep, but nothing too extreme. We'd come back in a heartbeat!

We loved our stay at Yvetot. The setting is so peaceful and made for a perfect weekend away for our family. It’s clear the owners have put a lot of care into this home.

Only glowing review. Mike, the host was incredibly kind and welcoming. The small slice of heaven that they have created in the Inverness hills was exactly what we needed.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

The cottage was well equipped, from the kitchen to the washer & dryer. The surroundings are peaceful & beautiful. Relax on the deck and watch the acorn woodpeckers. We had the opportunity to meet our charming host, Mike. You may never want to leave!

Cottage was as advertised - charming, beautiful and well stocked and clean. Hosts were friendly and informative. The cottage is nestled in nature - we shared it with the acorn woodpeckers, California quail and the great horned owls at night! Wonderful place to rest while exploring Point Reyes.
