Open the door to our beautiful second home in Kauai and know you are in paradise. There is nothing between you and the vast blue ocean, just 35 feet away, which is framed by a wall to wall expanse of floor to ceiling windows. The soothing sounds of the ocean fill the condo and the whispering trade winds carry the island fragrances inside. Air-conditioned for those few days when the trade winds are stilled. This is absolutely one of the most desirable locations and condos on Kauai. Relax on the spacious lanai offering unbeatable views of rainbows, whales, sea turtles, and the best surfing action in all of Poipu.
The condo projects out from the surrounding units and offers an expansive ocean view with its wrap-around windows. Visitors come from all over the island to photograph the gorgeous sunsets at the adjacent Beach House Restaurant and the same view is available from our condo. Our second floor location provides both privacy and security. The furniture is Hawaiian style rattan and the artwork is island themed. Tile and bamboo floors complete the tropical look. The spacious lanai accommodates four very comfortably. The condo is equipped with everything we could think of to make your vacation perfect including two large flat panel TVs with DVD players, a telescope and binoculars for whale watching, and all the comforts of home. Beach equipment for your day trips include four quality beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels, boogey boards, sand toys, and beach coolers.
Each of the two bedrooms has a king size bed, a ceiling fan, a large closet, and plenty of storage. The windows in the bedrooms have plantation shutters and face the mountains, allowing you to sleep easy as the trade winds sweep through the unit. Two twin size floor mattresses and a portable crib/playpen are available for children and babies. Both bathrooms feature large marble showers, spacious vanities and sinks, and bamboo theme faucets and hardware. The kitchen was fully remodeled in 2012 and has solid cherry plantation style cabinets and granite counter tops. It is fully equipped with all new top of the line KitchenAid appliances. A Cuisinart blender, coffeemaker, toaster, top quality pots and pans, and numerous gadgets make your culinary adventures enjoyable. The Kuhio Shores BBQ area has two high quality propane barbecues with barbeque utensils conveniently located for your use. Then bring your food inside and dine at the glass and rattan table surrounded by the ocean. Seating is available for two more at the bar.
If you like to snorkel or surf, you'll love this spot even more. Directly to the right is sandy Lawai Beach that Sunset Magazine once named the best snorkeling spot on the south shore of Kauai. When the south swell hits, surf spots Smokey's, PK's, Centers and Acid Drop are perfect and located literally downstairs. Enjoy an easy walk to the upscale shops and restaurants at the Kukuiula Shopping Center or get your morning exercise by walking to Spouting Horn (one of the most photographed sites on Kauai) or to the famous Allerton Botanical Garden. The condo has mesmerizing views and with two sides glass windows to the living room . The ocean thunders right into your living room. The bedrooms are dark and a bit musty. The living room has too much furniture and hard to move around. There are a huge number of beach accessories, chairs etc. which is great.The privacy is a little low and the neighbors are a little rude (only a few). A little away from swimming beaches, ideal for surfing. The floors had sand if you walked bare foot. Seemed pricey for what it offered. Host was responsive.

The Manager made this condo an absolutely lovely stay. Excellent communication skills and does every thing possible to make stay enjoyable. We loved watching the surfers. Excellent location. We were blessed!

The view from the lanai is amazing. Every morning we'd have coffee watching the surfers. You truly are just feet from the coastline. The unit has comfortable Hawaiian furniture and a very tropical feel. Kitchen has everything you need. There are lots of things for spending the day at the beach--chairs, umbrella, cold chest. Lovely unit.

A wonderful time. The view of the ocean was fantastic and daily we watched turtles, whales and surfers. The sound of the ocean was soothing. The owner was responsive to questions - before and during the trip. We will definitely rent this condo again.

Awesome Oceanfront Condo
This condo's location provided the perfect opportunity to hear and view crashing surf. It's conveniently located and allows you to access both Princeville and Waimea easily. The condo was nicely outfitted and comfortable and had everything you could possibly need for a stay in Hawaii. It really helped to make our trip to Kauai special and memorable.

You can't get more oceanfront than this!! Sitting on the balcony watching the sunrise and watching the surfers every morning was so peaceful. The beach house is right next door and is our very favorite place to eat. The unit has been very well taken care of and very clean. We would love to rent this unit again in the future.

Just Perfect
My wife and I decided to come to Kauai for our honeymoon. We love to explore and experience as much as we can so we divided our trip into 2 parts. Starting on the south shore and then heading to the north. This property, the south shore and all it had to offer were all perfect.
The property itself had an amazing oceanfront view. There were Dolphins, sea turtles, fish, crabs and surfers enjoying the ocean right out front of the condo. We went snorkeling at the beach and there were so many different kinds of fish. The beach house restaurant next to the condo, along with every other restaurant on the south shore, were absolutely phenomenal. There was no shortage of things to do!
The hostess was hands down the best hostess that we’ve had the pleasure of staying “with”. She had coolers, towels, snorkels, chairs and everything you needed for a beach day ready to go on site. Any issues we may have been having, she was very quick to respond and help get it figured out.
All around we HIGHLY recommend this stay and this hostess . It was PERCECT!

Excellent swimming and snorkeling outside your door. Beautiful hikes and boogie boarding beaches a short drive away. The view

AWESOME AMAZING OWNERS!
We love staying at Kuhio Shores due to its location, views and amenities! This was the first time staying in this particular condo, but we have stayed at Kuhio Shores at least 9 times! Susan was amazing from check in to check out, allowing us to change the dates, and stay longer! The condo had absolutely everything we needed and more! If you are debating between condos, this is the best choice!

The location was great and the unit was great. The third and fourth days we were there it rained really hard and water dripped from the ceiling the whole time. It was coming in to the unit above us I think. Also, we had to leave after five nights of our eleven nights due to covid19 and we didn’t get a partial refund or credit, nothing!

Great location- panoramic ocean view
Great south Kauai location, panoramic views of the ocean from sunrise to sunset. Surfers out front are entertaining. Excellent snorkeling right next-door. Local food trucks and markets, along with restaurants for great eating experiences. Highly recommended and would absolutely love to stay there again. Air conditioning which is a plus but with cross breezes only needed it part time during August stay.

Loved this property and the condo. Watched turtles and surfers from the Lanai right next to the ocean. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Beach gear such as coolers, chairs and umbrella were very much appreciated. Kids loved it here. Definitely would book again!

The property has everything needed for a great outer island vacation - at your fingertips. Having AC was great - important because Poipu can get hot and stuffy. Parking not a problem. The property was clean and well maintained. We’ve stayed at many VRBOs, and you never really know what you’ll get until you walk in the door. This unit is one of the very best. You can have complete confidence in this property booking sight unseen. Highly recommended.

We LOVED our stay here - you can't get any closer to the water and you can sit on the patio and lawn out front for hours watching the sunrises and sunsets. Excellent location - the air conditioners work really well - it's nicely decorated and updated - sleeping mats for the living room are comfortable as well. Would love to come back!!

Spectacular view and location
We spent 8 nights in this condo, and had a wonderful time. The location of the condo can't be beat, steps from the ocean, and walking distance to nearby shopping and restaurants. The condo is equipped with everything you could need for your vacation, coolers, beach chairs, umbrella, all made our daily adventures around the island that much more enjoyable. Great snorkeling is right next door, and the view of sunsets each night were a great way to end the day. The condo itself is in great condition, with updated kitchen and bathrooms and all around just very well maintained. Definitely recommend, and we wouldn't hesitate in returning here in the future.

Surfing and Turtles!
Susan was a pleasure to work with. After booking and paying, Susan let us know that some construction would be going on during our stay. She was flexible with the fee and dates to keep the disruption to our vacation to a minimum.
The condo itself was well appointed. We had chairs, towels, boogie boards, binoculars, a telescope. All we had to rent was snorkel gear.
We enjoyed watching turtles feeding in the surf every day and watching the surfers, right from the lanai. There was even a surfing competition one day.
I saw other reviews that complained about the noise from the restaurant next door, but we never heard them, even with a couple of wedding parties going on while we were there.
Know that the beach that is next door is very small and not a great place to hang out, but it has the best snorkeling on the island. I swam with a turtle on my first day in the water. Poipu beach is a pretty short drive away if you want a hang on the beach area.
Never stayed in a place so close to the water. Would stay here again!

Breathtakingly beautiful view from the balcony. Central to shops, eateries and snorkeling.
Such an amazing condo with everything handy and well thought out. Located near shops, tour vendors, restaurants, beaches, most within walking distance if you wanted to walk. Best thing for me was sitting either on the balcony or in the back lawn and watching the turtles and surfers. It was so relaxing and what I will greatly miss going back to “real life”.

Everything you ever wanted....and more
This was one of the best rentals we've ever had. The location, the views, the rooms..it was like we were living in our place. Susan and Larry have thought of EVERYTHING to make a vacation care free. The property is in a great location with snorkeling and surfing right out the door. It also felt more like a community and less like a tourist area. We've traveled the globe, and we put Kauai and Poipu 218 in our top 3 of all time. Perfect in every way. Thanks again Susan and Larry for sharing this paradise!
