About this house rental
This secluded, three-story home is located on a private 10-acre compound in a bamboo forest in Burlington. A quiet and scenic location, it is convenient to the I-85/I-40 corridor, restaurants, medical care, shopping and Elon University. Floor to ceiling windows overlook a large inground pool with lots of outdoor seating and a two-acre fishing pond with a gazebo, kayak and canoe. Featuring hardwood floors, a wood-burning fireplace and a sunroom, the 4,500 square foot house will sleep up to 15 people. The first floor's open plan provides a spacious den, kitchen and dining area, not far from a ground floor master bedroom with private bath and jacuzzi. High speed internet, TV, ceiling fans, washer/dryer and more round out the offerings. The second floor has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There's even a pool table in the basement, along with another bedroom and bath. Bamboo surrounds the perimeter of the property along with Japanese maples and prolific flowers in warm months. This is the perfect setting for a small family reunion, corporate retreat or quiet events that won't disturb the neighborhood's peaceful atmosphere. Events with more than 15 people will be considered with a fee. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Special rates available for long term stays or rentals of more than one of the bamboo forest's four other rental properties: The Lodge at Longpine, the Bamboo Bungalow, the Tiny House at Longpine or York Place at Longpine. No smoking indoors and no cats.

Such a wonderful place for a family getaway! Clint and Rebecca are such down to earth people and so responsive to any questions or concerns. And the spectacular views from the pool deck are like a beautiful slice of heaven!!

The accommodations were well suited for our family. We really enjoyed the pool and the pond was good outlet for fishing and kayaking. We had to call our host several times to correct several issues. On the down side the home is in need of some upgrades. The lower level could use some remodeling with some furniture for those using it. Only one TV. A number of light bulbs needed replacing and the dryer was not working. Blinds and drapes were missing or in need of repair. Pool furniture shows its age and needs to be addressed. Bedrooms on the upper and main level were good but the lower level was not the best. When I go on vacation I expect my destination to be as good or better than my home. This was not!

Overall we had a great stay, house had more than enough room for our group (7 adults, 4 teens/preteens, dogs) but it’s an older home that needs some general maintenance and updates. AC was difficult to maintain, multiple lights out, furniture was generally comfortable but old/worn, etc. Beautiful property, feels secluded while still being close to shops/restaurants but note that there are 3 other rental houses on the property so it’s not completely private. Pool was great but it would be nice if the bathroom in the pool house area was functioning. Kids loved fishing in the pond.

The property was very comfortable and clean. We were a group of 11 and there was plenty of space, with large bedrooms and general living areas. The outdoor pool area, overlooking a lake was the perfect place to relax late in the day. And the hosts were very responsive.

Got off to a bumpy start when we arrived and the house had not been cleaned, dirty laundry and unmade beds from the last guest. Emailed owners. Clint arrived with clean bed linens, made the beds and took all of the dirty laundry to wash. He said he didnt know we were coming that day. Bought us dinner for our troubles and said he would bring clean bath linens back the next day. The house was big and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking and playing pool. My grandson enjoyed the pool but it was to cold for us due to the time of the year. Had a very nice time and glad the property was pet friendly so our fur babies went also.

The house seems like it’s in another world. As soon as you turn onto the property you’re surrounded by bamboo and then a lakefront home appears. The lake with the pier and canoes is awesome. The outdoor patio is huge and has a great view. There is a nice sized pool if you want to swim. The inside has five bedrooms plus four bunk beds. It’s the perfect place for a large group to stay.

We were in town for our daughter's wedding. The location was perfect and the house was just the right size. Our host was was friendly and shared a little about the property and the other houses surrounding it.

The layout of the house was perfect for our 3 family units totaling 6 adults and 7 children (7 and under). The pool was awesome. The pond was great. The landscaping make the backyard a private paradise. The large driveway area was perfect for the kids to ride their bikes. We spent every possible moment in the pool or fishing at the pond (we returned all fish to the pond). When we had questions, Clint was very quick to reply. The floor was dirty when we arrived and we had to kill a mouse that got into our groceries, but after that it was all good!

The house and land were spectacular. We spent hours just walking around and enjoying the land. The pool was great for the kids. The house is huge and was great for us. Some of the light bulbs were out and there was a small spot of mold in the basement but all issues were responded to quickly by the host. Would love to stay again!

Eleven family members spent 4 nights at this oasis and except for a wedding and a grocery run we didn't leave the property. It is so unique and so much to enjoy. Although the property is close to a major highway, shopping, and restaurants, it's totally isolated. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor area; even in the misty rain we could all gather under the gazebo/bar area. The indoors was comfortable with enough room for all. Clint was easily accessible and right on top of the few issues we had. This is a great place for large groups. Highly recommend.

My whole family was in from out of town for my daughter’s wedding. We loved having space for everyone but still all together. This property was ideal, spacious, and so comfortable for our multi generational group. Everyone wished we were staying longer to enjoy the on-site and nearby activities.

Not a good experience!!!! Pool Not usable, house need a good cleaning and extermination and the basement with 5 beds smells like mold. A hallway room off of the basement had pieces of wood and junk, a definite hazard.

The pictures on the app do not do this property justice. The way it’s situated, in a bamboo forest, you’d never guess you’re right by the highway. Our group had 13 (11 adults, a 4 year-old & an infant). We all slept very comfortably (my bed might be one of the most comfortable I’ve ever stayed in at a home share). The kitchen was very accommodating for our group, but I think the outside space was the best part. There’s plenty of outdoor seating with an amazing view of the pond. Our own private pool was amazing, and we used it every day. I’d highly recommend this property.

Our group of 11 and one small dog had a very relaxing stay. Plenty of space, and such a peaceful, serene property! Our group enjoyed the wonderful pool everyday. We took a few day trips to go hike, grab a meal, or find an ice cream cone - but mostly we played board games and enjoyed a relaxing week with friends and family. The owners were very communicative when we had questions. If you are looking for together time on a property that has much to offer this is a great option.

We were excited to find a property that not only had a pool, but was located on a lake for catch and release fishing. The gazebo and tiki bar area located next to the pool was great for hanging out in the cool evenings while grilling out on the barbecue. The house comfortably slept the 11 of us, giving everyone their own space to stay up late or go to bed early without disruption. The pool table downstairs was enjoyed by all! The kitchen was well equipped with anything and everything we needed for our stay. There were more than enough towels in every bathroom, and even pool towels in the sunroom. Other than a trip to the grocery store we had everything we needed for our stay. If we had a negative thing to say it would be that the house is older and shows its age, and the second exit from the basement was not accessible in case of fire. However, it did not keep us from making some of the most amazing family memories. We cannot wait to stay again in the future.

This home is absolutely stunning from top to bottom. The private drive leading up to the house is magnificent, sporting a gorgeous bamboo forest on either side. The house itself is HUGE and amply fit all of our needs. The absolute best part of the whole experience was the outside pool area. There is a beautiful gazebo next to the pool and lots of space to relax. Nighttime is gorgeous, stunning views everywhere you look. We had a few issues with the fans and locks, however the hosts were very quick to respond. They were very easy to communicate with. There are other rentals around the area but we felt right at home and had a much needed friends getaway that was relaxing and full of fond memories. We will be back for sure to visit this lovely place!

My family stayed a week at the York's property as the Greensboro/Burlington, NC area was a good central meeting place for us coming from different areas. There were four families in total (12 of us overall) and the home had more than enough room for all of us. The positives: The entire property that also is shared with a few other rental properties is great and very beautiful. (The bamboo forest is no joke and makes the entire property feel miles away from anything). The flowers, landscaping, and gardens all over the property are beautiful. We spent nearly all of our time outside enjoying all the different outdoor spaces, canoeing on the pond, playing games in the large field, and relaxing by the large pool which was a hit with the kids.
Carl and Rebecca were great hosts and responded almost immediately to any questions we had, and helped troubleshoot a few minor issues that came up during our stay.
The house inside is overall very spacious, and the bedrooms are well equipped, however as others have mentioned the interior is a bit outdated and some rooms, furniture and appliances could definitely use some refreshing (especially the basement which was a bit dark and cold and didn't quite offer as comfortable a sleep/ indoor playing area for the kids as we had hoped from the pictures). Overall, though, nothing was too big a negative and you can tell that the owners have been making some recent improvements to the home (especially outside). All in all, we had a great and relaxing week and would recommend the home to any large family groups looking for a place in the area.

We take a family vacation every year and this was one of the very best . Great people to work with . A beautiful place to relax for us older folks, lots to do for the kids.The pool was awesome and we caught some nice bass and bluegill that we released. We hated to leave and we all agreed that we would definitely stay there again .
