My husband I and I stayed at Michael's property this past weekend, and had the most relaxing time. I absolutely loved the true rustic nature of the home and property, and our boat was able to be docked with no issue! We would definitely stay again :)

Michael was a great host.

The house was very cabin-like and impressive. Even my almost 16 year old commented on the coolness. The fishing was amazing as was the swimming. The owners were very responsive. Overall, it was a great trip and I would highly recommend staying here!

We had a wonderful time and the property was exactly as shown in the pictures.

I do not think the pictures do this property justice! It is even nicer in person. We enjoyed the home and the beautiful views!

We had a great time celebrating my 60th birthday. Our young adults so enjoyed being right on the water and using the kayaks and canoe. They also enjoyed fishing off the pier. We older folks just enjoyed staying on the porch watching them and taking care of my new grandbaby. The house was very roomy and we were able to spread out. First get away since before pandemic. We so enjoyed ourselves.

We had a great time at the cabin. It is in a fantastic location, great water access. The kids had the best time, jumping off the dock and playing in the water. Beautiful views!
We saw a ton of local wildlife. Which was awesome!
Michael was extremely communicative whenever I reached out.
Just make sure you bring your own bedsheets, towels, and a few extra rolls of toilet paper!

We thoroughly enjoyed our lake weekend at this charming cabin. It was perfect for a quick quiet getaway. We loved floating in the lake with the pool noodles and tanning on the dock. The water was a refreshing 76 degrees and clean. We sat outside the whole time day/night in the beautiful cove enjoying the view and watching the wildlife.

Middle aged ladies, along with their daughters, enjoyed this rustic cabin immensely. It was the perfect size for a group of seven. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil and appliance we needed including a mixer and a blender. We spent the day floating in the lake directly off of the dock and evenings playing games. Our host, Michael, was extremely patient with all of the questions I had. My group already expressed interest in coming back again next year. Great experience.

My husband and I enjoyed a stay at this cozy cabin for our 20th Anniversary. The house is older but was perfect for our needs. We had fun kayaking around the lake and the weather was fantastic. The property could use an upgrade to the elevated outside deck as it is warped and slopes a bit. Overall however this was our favorite spot to sit in the deck chairs and enjoy the view of the lake. This vacation was a good value.

House was great for our group to get together for a weekend. A bit dated but nothing that we couldn't make work.

The location on the lake was fantastic. The cabin is quaint, but on the older side and it needs a lot of work. Lights were coming off the ceiling, doors were splintered and the bed coverings and pillows are yellowed with wear and age. Everything is worn out…from the appliances to the carpets and rugs and deck furniture. Pool noodles are a nice touch but the floaties need to be inflated and life jackets should be provided for the kayaks and canoes.

We had a great time staying at this cabin. We really enjoyed swimming at the end of the dock. The water is extremely clear and we could see about 6 feet down. We rented a pontoon boat and used the boat house. The kitchen was well equipped with all of the extra items. The location is perfect as its less than 5 minutes from the grocery store and 5 minutes from the Marina. This was a great house and we look forward to staying here again.

First and foremost, the location is nothing short of breathtaking. Nestled on the shores of Lake Gaston, this vacation rental offers a front-row seat to nature's beauty. Each morning, I woke up to the sight of shimmering waters and the gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore. It was an idyllic and serene setting that provided an immediate sense of tranquility and relaxation.
The spacious deck offered a breathtaking view of the lake, providing the perfect spot for morning coffees or evening stargazing. The occasional fox, eagle, and deer were exciting for my two children. The private dock was an absolute highlight, allowing easy access to swimming, kayaking, and even fishing. The owners thoughtfully provided water toys and equipment, ensuring that every moment spent on the lake was filled with joy and adventure.
The lakeside neighbors are friendly and accommodating. Whether you are seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a rejuvenating solo retreat, this property is a hidden gem that promises a truly unforgettable stay. I cannot recommend it highly enough and eagerly look forward to returning in the near future.

Wonderful family vacation. Perfect if you want to get away from it all. Loved the kayaks and canoe, with the necessary safety equipment. Great sheltered dock to bring your own boat. Would definitely stay again.

The cabin was really fun! The decor followed the theme without being cheesy! There are steps to the downstairs bedrooms that should be considered if there are visitors with physical limitations. The location cannot be beat, we would love to stay there again. The Wi-Fi is limited which can be a plus! Well appointed, comfortable beds. Great weekend!

Great property on the lake. Older cabin with charcole grill, fire pit, nice high up deck overlooking the cove, and a descent dock to park a boat. Exactly what we were looking for. We would definitely come back

We really enjoyed our stay. House has everything we needed and was super close to the Food Lion, Marinas, and dining on the water. Screened-in porch and outside deck were amazing places to hang out.

We had an amazing weekend at the property, our only complaint was that the listing did not detail that the house had no towels and no sheets. I would highly recommend bringing your own towels and sheets and hope that the listing is updated to clearly state this. Otherwise, the pier was beautiful and location was amazing!

Six middle-aged buddies converged on this house for a long weekend. It was great for us. We put a boat in the water and used the boat house. We grilled and used the smoker. We hung out on the deck. Michael was easy to work with. Really enjoyed it and would go back.

We brought our 6 grandboys here for a week of lake fun. Perfect location. Really appreciated the 2 separate living spaces. Michael was very quick to respond to all our communication.

I enjoyed the cabin because, I am 78 and it was a wonderful place, all except for all the steps. It needs hand rails on the steps going to the dock. I got down to the dock, but had trouble getting back up because didn't have anything to hang onto, my daughter had to help me back up.

Beautiful house and get away for a few days.

This house was in an excellent location. Near grocery, food and beautiful views of the lake. Quiet area as well. I was just warn families with small children or older adults the steps to the basement where a majority of the bedrooms are located are steps but very very steep and more like a ladder. The basement has little air flow but the owner has several fans and by bedtime it cooled off. Loved the decor but would have liked to have known about the steps are very steep. Hold on with two hands. House has several steps to water but that’s normal at the lake. We enjoyed our stay. Communication with owner was very good. Just be sure to ask how to turn on dining room lights. There’s a trick to it.

We had a great time and I'd highly recommend a stay here. This very much has the rustic feel of a cabin. Although there was a problem getting into the cabin, the owner remedied this as expeditiously as possible. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location. We had a wonderful time! One of the beds were a little comfortable but otherwise we were very happy with everything!

Booking through VRBO was easy.
Getting to the location was easy.
Has running water, AC and a large dining room table. If you are looking for a house close to the marina this is a great location.
When we showed up to the house, cleaning crew was still working after checkin time. Owner apologized and stated he would discount 1st day, BUT did not refund us. BEWARE...
There are alive bugs in the house, so dont be surprised. Spiderwebs and insects outside, but expected with location.
If you dont like steps, do not rent this house. Getting down to the lake from the house is challenging for older adults.
If you have a boat be warned that the cover is rundown. Be very careful when parking your boat. Also be careful on the dock, work tools are hanging from the boat dock ceiling.

Cute little cabin right on the lake, awesome for swimming, boating etc. Only thing I could complain about is that they were building a new house next door which is not something anyone can help. Had an excellent stay and can’t wait to come back to this lake!!

Best parts of this rental: location was on a quiet cove surrounded by other coves so we could kayak; proximity to Food Lion; nice water pressure in the shower; new steps to the dock; place to store our boat. Wi fi was good. Satellite TV. The cabin is decorated with love, there is a lot of decorations to look at. It gave off a Cabela’s vibe which is why we picked it. Recommendations on food: Wakeboard Willies for ice cream, the Pointe, Watersview, Shady Shack for drinks (don’t recommend their burgers). The double & queen beds were a little soft for our comfort. My husband ended up moving to the bunks since he has back issues.
