Wonderful experience. Beautiful area.

The chalet is lovely and had plenty of room for our group of 12. There was very little noise from neighbors, etc., and the property felt very private. We saw eagles flying over daily. The tram was popular with the kids and they enjoyed taking the ride down to the dock. Stairs are also an option for a workout. The property was as described, beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and Mike was very easy to communicate with. The lake was rather green in late August but it was still fun to take the canoe and kayaks out. Very beautiful and peaceful area.

We just wrapped up our 5 night stay at the cozy chalet. Mike was easy to communicate with leading up to our reservation. Check in process was smooth. Mike checked in during our stay to make sure all was going well via text. They even had someone pick up trash mid stay.
The cabin had all the things our group of 12 needed, ages ranging from 6 months to 70 years old. From the black out shades in every room, crib, lots of beds and extra bedding, Plenty of towels and kitchen items as well as a baby gate and booster seat. The walk to the lake is very steep but the tram was always in working order and was great for going up and down to the lake/dock. There was a spot to keep our boat tied up during our stay. Hot tub was great as well as the outdoor grill and game room down stairs. We had some rain so the bugs were pretty bad so not much time outside but that was of course outside of Mikes control. The lake is shallow at the dock which is good for little swimmers but not so good for fishing off the dock. The lake was also pretty green come August, again out of Mikes control. But we didn’t do too much swimming.
Great cabin, no complaints!

We recently stayed at this lake home and had an absolutely wonderful experience! The home was impeccably clean and provided a comfortable stay for our entire family, ranging in age from 1 to 64. The host was friendly and gracious, ensuring that all our needs were met throughout our stay. The environment was cozy and well-maintained, making it a perfect retreat for a family get together. We appreciated the thoughtful amenities and the warm hospitality. We would definitely rent this cabin again and highly recommend it to others!

The chalet worked out so well to spend time with our immediate and extended family. The kitchen was very well equipped; the chalet was roomy and comfortable; the tram facilitated a disabled family member being able to go down to the lake--we all enjoyed using it! We had a great week there!

My husband and I and our 9 children, ages ranging from 8-23 years old, drove 3.5 hours to this VRBO for a week away. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Several didn’t want to leave, already asking if we can come back. The pictures do not do it justice! Beautiful home, beautiful location, tons of family fun for all ages!

A beautiful chalet! Plenty of room for our family, from 2 yr old, teens, and adults. Everything you could want and more. The lake is beautiful, the property is large, private and so pretty. The hot tub was a big hit. The owner was easy to reach and very helpful. This was a wonderful vacation, I would definitely rent this place again. I highly recommend it.

Everything was very nice. The cabin was even bigger than it looked in the pictures. Great location. Will stay here again for sure.

Our third time staying at this property, and it was perfect, as always. Looking forward to staying here in the future.

Great place and close to the Rec on Yellow. Cabin was very clean and had everything you would need for a stay. The lake is very shallow at the dock and would be hard to get a boat into.

Great house, beautiful view of the lake, tons of amenities, very clean. My only complaint is that the hot tub couldn’t be set past 100 deg. Otherwise, excellent experience overall!

This was a great location for our weekend retreat. House was beautiful, though the kitchen floors were not swept and the the dishwasher full of clean dishes. Plenty of beds and gathering spaces, and the ping pong table was very much enjoyed. Would return to stay again.

Was our 15th year doing our guys trip and this by far was the best place we have stayed. Was a great weekend for all with plenty of space and things to do. The few questions we had Mike was very quick on responding.

We stayed here with friends during the week between Christmas and New Years. This home was ideal, with lots of room upstairs and downstairs to play or hang out, and cozy bedrooms tucked away for a mid-afternoon nap. Unlike some places that are fairly bare-bones, this home has all the things to stay and live, including a full kitchen with all the pots, utensils, and appliances you need to cook and serve, and fun games to play. Outside, even in winter, the view over the lake was beautiful, and the hot tub (while on the smaller side) was very nice to soak in too.
The owners were great at communicating, proactively reaching out when we arrived to make sure we got settled okay, and gave some great local food recommendations when we were too lazy to cook one night. :-)
All in all, a pretty much perfect place to relax and connect.

Beautiful spot in fall. Did not use the lake much but I am sure it is great in the summer. Less than 10 min into Danbury. Lots of twin beds makes it easy for having larger families and groups.

Loved this cozy cabin on Yellow Lake for a family getaway! Very spacious property - we canoed daily, enjoyed the hot tub, played ping pong, & the tram down to the dock was a hit with the kids & Grandma alike. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at Joie de Vivre. It's a great location - near trails, the lake & restaurants - and a quick two hour drive from the Twin Cities. The home is big and spacious. Plenty of space for people to relax both upstairs and downstairs. We loved the deck and hot tub. And - the tram is a fun way to get down to the dock! We highly recommend this cabin!

Property was as advertised. Nice sleeping arrangements. Good common space. Fully stocked kitchen with nice amenities! Good space on the dock to hang out. Room for our 3 17-19” boats. Parking of 3 truck/trailers and 1 car was NOT an issue at all for us!!!!

We had a lovely stay at the cabin. Mike was responsive to our inquiries and helped with a mechanical issue with the microwave. The cabin is lovely! We enjoyed the great weather and the lake all week long. Thanks for a great stay.

We had a great time. Vacationing with 2 toddlers can be challenging, but staying here made it a breeze. The baby gate along with other amenities to accommodate toddlers was extremely helpful. My daughter named the tram down to the lake the roller-coaster! Also thank you for access to hulu and Netflix! It saved our evenings with the littles when they were tired out from swimming and boating but a bit to early for bedtimes. Gave me some spare minutes to get supper on the table without meltdowns! Highly recommend a stay!

We had a fantastic week here! The tram made getting to the dock and back easy, and we still had a great view through the trees of the lake. Clean cabin with great amenities (hot tub, foosball, ping pong, and fire place). Yellow lake lodge is a nearby restaurant, and is a budget friendly option for great food, drinks, and service a short walk from property. There’s an eagle nest close by, so we saw eagles multiple times each day. We also saw loons, osprey, and deer. We rented a pontoon for the week from the rental recommended by the owners, and it was so fun to take boat rides all week (super affordable rental, too). To cap it off, we enjoyed a few bonfires. All in all, a fantastic experience and we were grateful to have a wonderful place to stay!

We loved the Chalet. The Chalet was beautiful inside and the large windows provided amazing views. Early morning coffee on the deck was a must. Everyone took advantage of the hot tub and it was an addition we do not see at every VRBO rental. I was happy to capture a photo of doe and her little fawn peeking around the corner plus eagles and other wildlife. The Chalet had everything we needed. Location was a plus it was very private but short distances to many restaurants and towns. The large home was designed so families could have privacy and the early risers did not wake up everyone else in the home. Naturally, everyone enjoyed the lake and lake toys. My family highly recommends this rental.

Wonderful house, clean, and everything we needed to enjoy time with extended family. Fun fishing, boating, and spending time at local establishments. Mike was quick to respond with any questions we had, and helped make a vacation to remember.

It’s a great location. There’s many different things to do in the area if you want or you can just stay at the property and enjoy your surroundings. It’s an open concept in the common area with plenty of room for a group.

This was a great place to take a group. The rooms are a great size with comfy beds. The tram was amazing and my husband’s 95 year old dad was able to stay with us and fish (with plenty of fish to take home) because of this feature. The host was attentive with any questions and accommodating when we had a surprise issue with one of the vehicles we had with us. The listing is exactly what is promised and more. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends!

Having 3 bathrooms was so nice. The views are spectacular, location is nice although the driveway was a bit treacherous with all of the snow & ice. Very spacious house that worked out perfectly for 12 women.

Wonderful property for Birkie weekend. At first we felt the distance would be difficult, but we had a blast stopping at local restaurants on the way home. Another bonus, we are already an hour closer to home!
