About this cottage rental
Ideally situated on the eastern side of beautiful Lake Sammamish for fabulous sunsets and a tranquil setting, the Cottage on Sammamish is a newly renovated vacation venue. You feel rested and away from the busy world. Many people say it feels you are in a boat with the large windows facing and very near the lake.
Yet, just up the hill from the house (5 min drive) is a large Safeway and a multitude of convenient take-away shops and restaurants. 10 mins north and you are in the middle of Redmond (Microsoft town!) and the Redmond Town Centre. 10 mins south and you have Costco, Bestbuy, FredMeyer, etc on the pretty town of Issaquah. Both towns are linked with a pretty well preserved state trail that passes on the back of the Cottage, where you can walk, run or bike. The cottage also is close to Seattle itself. (20 miles - 30 min)
Come enjoy the Cottage on Sammamish for your next vacation or corporate visit to the Seattle area.
The Cottage has:
Over 900 square feet of living space
2 bedrooms – sleeping up to 6 people
Complete kitchen (we mean it!)

This was our second stay at this property. The location is bliss, Don and his team are incredibly friendly and helpful. Our vacation was restful, serene and absolutely amazing! We will definitely be back!

We wanted to spend a week at the lake but still have time to do local things nearby because of the school year starting. It was a perfect blend of vacation and local.

It was great to return to the Lake House, this time to use the dock for boating and fun! As always, we were grateful for the well maintained (and stocked!) accomodations and thoughtful attention from our hosts. Area family joined us in celebrating our 50th and of course, we'll return again!

Wonderful time staying at the cottage on the lake.
4th of July fireworks were great viewed right off the deck!

Don is a gem and sweet as can be. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with its own personal dock. The lake is beautiful and bird watching is fantastic. We saw blue heron, bald eagles, Canadian geese and goslings, Mallards and their ducklings.
As the sun sets another wave of animals come out: moths, spiders, bats, mosquitoes. We enjoyed the dock before sunset and enjoyed the sunsets and watching the night critters from inside looking out at the beautiful view.
It’s nice to have wood floors throughout most of the house, and the cellar is at least 10-15 degrees cooler than other parts of the home. It’s also stocked with lots of books in the basement and a nice selection of DVDs. The pictorial book on the local history of Lake Sammamish is definitely worth a read and easy to do in 10 minutes or less.
We were happy to find a few chilled sparkling waters and sodas waiting for us as well as microwaveable popcorn. Don also told us about local restaurants and grocery stores.
Note for those with walking issues, there is an outdoor staircase that you must walk down with your luggage to access the lake house.

Had a great time on the lake. Very comfortable and clean.

We had such a wonderful time at this lake house. The property is just as the pictures and the location is simply perfect. Sunrise and Sunsets on the dock are spectacular. We took our teenage girls here for Spring Break and had the best time. Communication was very prompt and it was easy to find. I highly recommend this location.

Beautiful cabin on the water. Wonderful way to relax and catch up with family & friends. Close to Redmond and Seattle.

This was a family vacation with kids 10-16. Listing was accurate. Place was amazing. The owner Don was really fun. I’d love to sit and chat a bit more on another trip. Great host, great place and a lot of fun. The beds were actually comfortable and I have trouble sleeping (not there). Will be looking to come back as this is on my favorite list…

Great house, furnishings, location. Saw 3 deer wading in the lake right next to the house and then duck under the dock to continue on down the lake! Wonderful!

Very open and spacious floorplan, comfortable and very relaxing, & just felt like home! Had everything we needed from cooking to washing clothes.
Great place!

The Cottage is very open to the outside and lake. Lot's of lovely places to hang out and enjoy the view (we particularly enjoyed the covered sitting area). Seattle was a 35 minute drive and there were plenty of places near by for supplies and food.

Best vacation in years! The cottage location right on the lake can't be beat. There are magnificent views from nearly every angle. Our sunset glass of wine on the dock was my favorite part of the day. We cooked every night thanks to the fully functional kitchen. Everything was comfortable and clean. Our hosts were amazing. We are counting down the days until we can return. What an amazing little paradise!

Very cozy bungalow on a beautiful lake
Unfortunately the water was too cold to get out on it. However, at the right time of year this places has plenty of options to do just that. Kayaks, paddle boards, life jackets for many sizes, and a private dock. The hot tub was very clean. The views are spectacular. At night, the lights across the lake remind me of a Christmas village scene. If you love coffee, there are plenty of close options. I suggest trying Caffe Ladro at least once. There is a running/biking path that runs along the lake, most of which is paved though it’s gravel just outside of this house. Gustavo and Rafael were very nice and quick to respond to questions. We had a very pleasant time!

My fiance/husband and I booked this VRBO for our wedding weekend - my bridesmaids and I stayed here the night before the wedding (which was at Columbia Winery) and my new husband and I stayed here the night after our wedding. This home was absolutely everything we had hoped for, and Don, the owner, made our stay even better. Don was so kind and ensured we had early check in (he actually let us take occupancy of the property a day early with very minimal notice as it made coordination for the rehearsal much smoother). As a result, I (the bride) was able to have an evening to myself two nights before the wedding at this tranquil location, which was truly a breath of fresh air. In addition to being the perfect spot for my bridesmaids and me/my husband, we also did our first look pictures on the doc and from what we've seen in the sneak peeks, they were stunning. I cannot recommend this property enough - both for the actual property but also because Don and his team are a true pleasure to work with. We will be back!

GREAT GETAWAY!
Though long term area residents, our family was thrilled to discover this waterfront gem! Needing a few extra beds for a large family reunion, we came upon this well cared for bungalow and only regretted that it wasn't summer so that the dock & multiple boats/boards could be utilized. Owner Don was extremely hospitable and could easily write a great book about local folklore! You too will be pleased and charmed with your stay at the Lake House. We'll be back!!

Every morning hot tub followed by swim in the lake out to the floatie to relax. Perfect place to unwind and vacation. Made full use of kitchen, deck, paddleboards, dock, and lake. Don, the owner next door, could not be more kind or gracious. We could never afford a place on the lake and are so grateful that he’s opened this home to guests so we can experience wondrous lake living for a week or two each year!! Highly recommend!

We had such a nice time staying on the lake! The property is in such a nice location and you can’t beat the sunsets! The water was warm and easy to get in to from the dock. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the sun. Don (owner) was very helpful, welcoming and an all around great host! We would love to come back next summer!

We had a wonderful time at the Sammamish Lake house! Don was a great host and was always available to answer questions and get us anything we needed. It was great having lake toys (kayaks, float toys and rafts) to enjoy! Since we live in AZ and all of our kids and grandkids live in the greater Seattle area, we were able to enjoy special times and quality visits with each of them and we especially enjoyed the 4th of July on the lake with the entire family! Special memories to share and recall when we are back in AZ! The parking was sometimes a challenge, but we managed thanks to the hooks inside the door for everyones car keys, so a car could be moved when necessary! A special note to anyone with limited mobility - there lots of stairs, so if you have a mobility problem, this is probably not the spot for you! Otherwise, we would recommend this location and give it high ratings! Families should strongly consider this property for a fun filled stay!

This was our 2nd trip to Don’s lake house and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed cool (even in the 108 Seattle heat dome) swam all day, kayaked and even did a little fishing. The house has everything you need for a relaxing trip to the lake, and Don is such a lovely host. Can’t wait to come back!

We had such a pleasant time at this property, not only was the location ideal, but also we were surprised at how much bigger the house was when you were inside. The property was very clean and access to the lake was perfect with a huge deck and plenty of kayaks available for us to use.
We also have to mention how helpful and nice Don was during our stay. It was also a pleasure to meet someone who is so cultured and so welcoming of folks from different countries.
We definitely hope to go back to this place next year during the summer.

It was very well stocked with everything you need. Amazing views from every window. The boats and toys were great. We had such a fantastic time. I felt bad that I missed the information about the hot tub actually being shared and is the Nieghbor’s. But they were very accommodating and it all worked out great. Really an amazing spot.
