Spend the day exploring the lake in the cottage canoe reserved for guests, hiking to one of the many waterfalls nearby, sipping wine along the Keuka or Seneca Wine trails, or letting the lake breeze wash over you while lounging on one of our 4 deck levels. Built incorporating several mature trees, the young (and young-at-heart), will be tickled by the treehouse feel of the outdoor living spaces. Both bedrooms at Painted Quail Cottage provide views of stunning Lamoka lake. A pack-n-play is provided for the little one.
The Master bedroom is located on the main floor with a Queen size bed, just off of the Living Room, with windows facing over the lake. The second bedroom is in the basement level and has a Queen size bed and a door out onto the lower level deck. The family room in the basement has an additonal Full size day bed for sleeping an additional 2 persons as well as a roll out single trundle bed.
Several cozy nooks provide an ideal space to curl up with a great book (bring your own or borrow one from the guest library).
The kitchen is outfitted with gourmet upgrades perfect for cooking up family meals, fileting the day’s catch or uncorking a local bottle of wine. There is a large stainless gas range/oven and stainless fridge in the kitchen along with lovely butcher block countertops.
Make memories in the family room, if the weather spoils your outdoor plans, by utilizing the big-screen tv, Wii console, Xbox 360, or DVD player (with DVD library cratering to every age). Looking to un-plug? The collection of board and indoor games can help with that.
Outdoor activities abound here! The size of Lamoka Lake makes it superior for swimming, due to the water warming faster and higher than the surrounding larger lakes. Fish off the dock, use our lake frontage to enter the water for a swim, or gather around the chimenea for a campfire & S’mores. We had a great time at PQC! My son was married right down the private street, so the location was perfect for us! The deck was beautiful, and the cottage well-stocked and clean.

We had a good time. The home suited our needs and we made use of the provided canoe along with our own kayaks. A little trouble with the shower mechanics but once worked out it was fine. Nice being on a smaller less touristy lake when compared to Seneca and Cayuga but we still accessed those areas. Would tecommend

We stayed here for a romantic getaway and had the perfect week. This house is so cute and cozy and very well stocked. Totally outfitted for families as well. Great location with lots to do in the area. We loved the lake but can tell it is probably extremely busy during the summer season! It was quiet and relaxing this fall, though.

Definitely wanted to unplug and we did. The deck over looking the lake was great. When we booked we didn’t realize we weren’t on one of the actual fingerlakes but it was between 2 of them and we got to both of them. The house has all of the amenities you need from head to toe. Tv was in the basement, wish they had a small one up stairs for the mornings and coffee.
Very clean and updated, would recommend to anyone.

Super cute cottage right on the lake! Loved our time in the finger lakes. A few things in the house need work but it didn’t affect our stay. Lake access is very steep so just be careful. Sleeps six comfortably but only one bathroom to share. Overall very nice home

So peaceful
This location is so peaceful. There are a lot of amenities for babies including a jumper, umbrella stroller, sit me up seat and toys. All of which came in handy with our 1 year old.
We were new to kayaking, boating and fishing and this house made it easy with the dock and canoe.

Our family absolutely loved our vacation at the Painted Quail!
The Painted Quail was such a hood choice for our family vacation. Everything is close enough to offer us many adventures but isolated enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake. The entertainment room gave us an escape when a short storm rolled through. We would definitely rent again. We recommend the F.L.X. Wienery for an amazing white hot and a must visit is the Spotted Duck creamery.

Peace and quiet
We loved our stay at Painted Quail to celebrate our anniversary. The home is beautifully furnished, immaculate, and includes many thoughtful touches. We made use of the canoe, enjoyed breakfast at the picnic table each morning, and loved the view from the bedroom. Locally, we did a wine tour, walked the Keuka Canal Outlet path, and hiked Watkins Glen State Park. This quiet and relaxing property is a gem!

My girlfriend and i took a long weekend to get some quiet time from our toddlers! The house was so nice! Very clean and updated! The farmhouse look on the inside was beautiful and the attention to little details throughout the house were so nice! My husband and I took my mom and her significant other for a four night getaway to the Finger Lakes, and the Painted Quail did not disappoint. We went in January and it was very cold, so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor amenities. But my husband and I chose the upstairs bedroom and with snow showers each day of our stay we woke up to a fresh snow painted scene every morning. In our case having the bedrooms on different floors worked out really well because it afforded each couple a good degree of privacy. We made breakfast and dinner each day, and the kitchen and dining area suited our needs well. I recommend the Painted Quail for a couples or small family getaway.

Perfect getaway
This property was perfect for our getaway from Long Island. I grew up spending my summers in Plymouth, NY, and this property instantly reminded me of our log cabin. It’s far away enough from towns to have peace and quiet, but close enough to meet your needs. The town of Watkins Glen is close by, as well as Hammondsport which we enjoyed as much. The property is neatly kept, cozy, and relaxing. The owners truly thought of every need you might come across while staying. We’d definitely be back!

A hidden gem!

3 Day Peaceful Getaway
This is a lovely lakefront home and property. The decorating is so tastefully done and the owners truly thought of everything. We enjoyed the zigzag wood ramp down to the dock and canoeing on the lake was so relaxing.
We also hiked through Watkins Glen and visited the nearby wineries. We’ll certainly be back!

Tastefully furnished cozy cottage
This is a lovely home on a beautiful lake. Comfortably furnished, with a well stocked kitchen. I would be wary of one thing that was not adequately explained in the listing: the hazard posed by the dock at the bottom of the hill the house is perched on. It opens onto the water with no safety barrier. We have a two year old who could easily have toppled into the lake from the dock. Hence, we spent no time there with him. Be advised, too, that there is no beach or any other access from the house to the lake other than the dock. Otherwise, I would wholeheartedly recommend The Painted Quail.

Truly a wonderful experience!
My mom and I had an amazing and relaxing experience. The cottage is perfect for a ladies wine weekend. It had everything we needed. Although sharing one bathroom was tough at times, we would not hesitate to book the cottage and return next year. The cottage is close to both Keuka and Seneca Lake wine trails (maybe 20 minutes). Our favorite part was putting in a "girly" movie at the end of a long day of drinking wine and kicking back on the leather sofa with some popcorn. The beds were super comfortable and the linens were amazing! We met a few neighbors walking their dogs who were super helpful with dinner suggestions plus things to do in the area (besides drinking wine). I honestly did not want to leave! Perfect!

Romantic Cottage
This property was everything we hoped for in a romantic weekend getaway. The views are amazing and we really loved all the different outdoor living areas on the deck. It was so nice to wake up every morning and look out at the lake. The kitchen and dining room were very cozy. The house is well stocked with games and toys if you are thinking about bringing the family. We would highly recommend this property. We hope to come back for a week in the summer of 2020.

Perfect Weekend Cottage
We loved our stay at Painted Quail Cottage on Lamoka Lake. It is the perfect distance from both Keuka and Seneca Lakes. The cottage is nicely stocked and adorably decorated. We loved the basement media area with comfy recliners. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels and blankets. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook, however, we took advantage of the many delicious restaurants in the area instead. It was a very brisk weekend so we weren't able to use the decks outside, but they were gorgeous and the view was beautiful. I recommend Painted Quail Cottage for a weekend away.

We arrived very late at night, and the self-entry pass codes worked perfectly which was very comforting after a long journey in the middle of a downpour! In the morning we woke up and saw the beautiful lake, which was even closer than I expected. The location itself is excellent for a Finger Lakes holiday. I know the area well and shepherded my friends as far afield as Canandaigua, Seneca Falls and Ithaca. But even if you don't know the area, the nearest towns and villages are easy to explore from this location. The situation between Keuka and Seneca Lake is perfect for all things Finger Lakes.
The house had everything, and Joleen was very communicative. The grill, canoe, thermostat, TV, coffee maker and other appliances all worked like a dream, which is what you want in a vacation cottage.
Bonus: great farm stands nearby! Also, although we didn't need it, the house has a very impressive ramp that would seem to make lake access possible for those with disabilities.

We recently stayed here with my two children (ages 1& 2) and my parents and loved it. The cottage was beautiful and decorated just perfect. Loved the oversized windows in the mater bedroom, they had the most wonderful view of the lake. The multi level deck was great, we spent the majority of our time out there just enjoying the views. The kitchen was on the smaller side but was very functional (as well as beautiful). Only wish there was a second bathroom downstairs. We hope to come back again and enjoy the house and visit more of the local wineries and breweries very soon.
