Our chalet is in a gated community with a golf course, seasonal heated swimming pool (May-October), the lake's three swimming beaches that get really warm to swim in summer, hiking trails near by, tennis courts, and much more. I can advise on many possible day activities and places to go at different times of the year. Yosemite Park entrance is just 25 miles away, but there are many other attractions in the vicinity. Historical Gold Rush towns, multiple caves, Tuolumne river canyon, mountain lakes, white water rafting are just the first things that come to my mind. Wintertime, you can snowshoe and cross country ski at Yosemite. Downhill skiing/snowboarding is possible with a little over an hour drive to either Dodge Ridge or Yosemite's Badger Pass ski resorts. For the little ones there are FREE "adventures" near by, like a 5min drive to airport to see airplanes take off and land, horse stables to touch a horse's nose, 3min drive to playground with a slide, swings, and sandbox, or feeding trout at Moccasin Creek Hatchery (think of it as your free aquarium, just 15min drive away :) Kids 5 and under ride free in Railtown 1897 steam train found in Jamestown, a 25 min drive away from our home. During summer youngsters enjoy around-the-lake water taxi rides. Seeing Milky Way behind countless stars on a moonless night is captivating. There's plenty to see and do for folks of all ages no matter the season!

Met our needs for 1 day stay to go whitewater rafting the next day.

The place was clean, the AC was already turned on whne we came so that the home was cool and inviting during the heat wave. The bedrooms devor and bed covers were really cute and clean.
The kitchen was easy to use. When we checked out, we explored one of the beaches and the water was lovely. I wished we stayed longer and gone for a swim.
Great community, saw many deer while driving out. There is a one time 46$ fee but the host clearly stated that in the description.
4.7
Nice and clean, exactly as pictured and advertised. The kitchen was much better stocked than I expected, including good sharp knives! We all slept well and enjoyed our stay!

My mom had never been to California and, well, you might say time is getting short. She had a couple of requests: She wanted to be comfortable, she wanted to be safe, and she wanted to see Yosemite and big trees.
Four of us stayed in this house - Me, my wife, my mom, my wife's brother. We were comfortable and safe, we had a very pleasant and relaxing time at the house, and we were well positioned for visiting Yosemite. My conversations with the owner were clear and straightforward. He was accurate in everything he told us and we would love to have stayed longer. And we'd happily go back.

We enjoyed our stay; the house was clean and comfortable. Thank you!

Thank you so much, we enjoyed staying at your cabin at Pine Mountain Lake. Everything was nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable. Check in and out was easy and convenient. Would recommend this to anyone. We would have liked to use the barbecue on the back deck, but the weather did not cooperate.
4.7
Restful and peaceful stay. Well stocked amenities, quiet location. We stayed 7 nights while touring surrounding area. Everything worked well in this lovely home. I would recommend you stay here.
4.7
We spent a full day in the mountains then find no wash clothes in the house. Owner reply was he did not advertise wash cloths only towels! Ants in the kitchen and bathroom …so the ant traps on the kitchen counter are not working . I asked the neighbors about cable tv… they all have it ..so this owner chooses to use an antenna..so reception is very poor. I have stayed in over 30 vrbo in 14 states and this is my first poor review.

Community should have all access for guest and community gates take long
4.7
The host was very responsive to my questions and requests. Our stay was less than 24 hours so we were unable to enjoy the backyard deck and grill. I’d love to come back for a longer time at this mountain location.

Nice town, great host, amazing house!

My friends and I stayed in Groveland for a relaxing retreat and had a great time. Lots of fun things to do in the area and beautiful views. Hosts were great at communication and extremely helpful.

Enjoyed our visit. Problem with water heater but owner is addressing it.

The house is very pleasant in a nice, safe neighborhood. It's a bit of a shame that the community charges a $42 fee for the entrance pass just so that you can get to the house. That feels awfully high, if like us, you aren't using any of the community's services or attractions. Still, the fee was disclosed before we selected this home and so we just considered it part of the cost of staying here.
The house was well-equipped, clean, and comfortable. The only drawback was that the hot water heater was working intermittently, a problem which previous reviewers have also mentioned. We always managed to get it going again but it was annoying. The owner is aware of the problem and is fixing it. So if you are considering staying here, there's a good chance this will not be a problem for you. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others.

The chalet was nice and cozy. Clean, comfortable beds, a well-functioning fireplace, and a fully stocked kitchen. The gated community was peaceful and beautiful. The only downside to this place was the problem with hot water in the bathrooms - we lost it on the last day of our stay and were not able to fix it following the instructions in the Welcome book. I hope next time this issue will be fixed and I can give the chalet five stars instead of four.

Very cute clean house! Reaching out to owner about hot water situation.

We chose this home so we had access to Yosemite NP. Takes about 30 minutes to get to the Big Oak Flat entrance, then another 30 to the Valley Floor.
It had room for 6 easily and all you would need to stay in a home. I loved being able to do laundry after hiking all day. We basically just slept at the home.
Be aware that there is a one time entrance fee from the neighborhood the first time you arrive. It was $42 in October of 2022. We paid in cash, but there could be other ways to pay.
We were warned not to use much of the internet or else there would be an extra charge so we never connected to it. Be prepared for that.
The neighborhood is high up a hill and we saw deer each day. Other animals must be near by since we had to tie down the garbage.
I would return again if I needed to be in this area again.

Wi-Fi/phone service turned out to be a little bit of a challenge for us. We understood the situation, but the other couple had a death in the family and they tried to watch a little bit of the service live, but none of us could get enough service. We knew it would be a stretch based on the information that was supplied. It was simply a matter of bad timing on our 21-day journey. We also wish we had scheduled a 2nd day there to have enjoyed the amenities.
4.7
Clean, Comfortable and well stocked.
Home is comfortable and better stocked than most VRBO I have stayed at. There was plenty of DVD's to choose from so did not miss streaming on the WiFi. Owner gave good instructions to house, which I printed and followed diligently. Unfortunately, I did not supply the vehicles in my group, which was asked for in advance via email from owner, so had a hiccup checking in So be sure and give that in advance for a smooth check in.

This is a perfect place to stay for those wanting to visit Yosemite or other places. Plenty of room, so nicely furnished, everything you need. It is in a gated community that is nestled in the mountains. Two minutes away is the quaint town of Groveland. Hosts are responsive and so helpful. The welcome book has everything you need to know. We'd definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Good for one night
The location is not to far from Yosemite, has stores and restaurants within 10 minutes drives. Quite neighborhood.

This home is situated in a lovely gated community with a pool, private lake and golf course- course was great. The home is very nice, clean, with the modern appliances provided. However, there was no bath soap to be found anywhere!
The post itself is deceptive. There are hidden rules and fees that were not described in the context nor included in the price. Once we booked, I received an email about the wi-fi and downloading restrictions (3gb/day) or fees would be added to the cost. In my opinion, these things should be accounted for in the cost of the rental.
When I received the check in instructions just a day or 2 prior to check in, I was told there was a $30 parking fee, which was raised to $42 in the subsequent email from the owner and what had to be paid at the gate. Again, better to just include these fees in the cost of the rental to avoid surprise charges. The night (9:30pm) before check in, I received an email to confirm who would be driving and names on licenses. If we were already in the area, we could’ve been without phone service and not been able to provide this info. This task should have been taken care of with all others to avoid last minute hiccups. Luckily I saw it and responded .
When we arrived, I wanted to make use of the pool, which I learned from the cleaner does not open until 5/27. There was no map of the community or amenities we had access to, despite claims in the ad. However, when I contacted Mike about early entry to put food inside, he responded quickly and positively.
We used the lake in the evening when there were few people around, so I cannot provide an accurate experience on peak times. It is small and the swimming space is limited.
This was a great spot to get to Yosemite the next day. However, due to the hidden fees and lack of upfront communication, I would not stay there again.

We booked this to visit Yosemite. It's approximately 1 hour from rental to the Valley. The pics of the house are representative and it appears some updates have been made to the house. The outside needs some TLC, but the inside was clean. The W/D works well, but the closet doors are awkward to use them and lint is built up under them. Our main issue was the air conditioning did not cool well and ants in the kitchen. There appears to be a pet stain on rug in living room and had a slight odor. I messaged owner, but did not get a response. The house had an ant issue in the kitchen. We found ant traps there and put them out to help. We realize this can happen, but we had to watch carefully to make sure they didn't get in our food. Overall, the stay was okay, beds were comfortable and most of the necessities needed are in the house. Also, an extra fee is charged at the gate to enter the neighborhood. I believe it was $42.00. This is the neighborhood fee not owner's fee.

I like the theme of the property, the bed in the master bedroom was disturbing, every time you moved there's a sound. The bathroom and kitchen not yet upgraded. I like the fact that they have some species and other kitchen stuff to used.. I will still recommend the place..

This was better than the pictures. Not too far from Yosemite to go in and out for two days. It was a well stocked kitchen and plenty of space. Good movies to watch in those evenings while recovering from our hikes.
The only complaints I had are that the water was hard to keep hot even with the little tricks in the welcome book. Also the king bed was the squeakiest, loudest bed I’ve ever slept in. When my husband turned over I thought someone was jumping on the bed due to the noise.

Excellent Communication; Great Experience
Michael was on top of communication from the get-go. Everything was clear. The place is hard to see at night so having precise directions really helped. Be sure to look at the binder when you arrive! It answers several questions that we had (including how to make sure the hot water stays hot).
The wood-burning fireplace was a great bonus.
This host clearly knows how to take care of the property. If I'm in this area in the future, I will definitely stay here again.
