About this cottage rental
We welcome you to stay at our cottage in one of the most beautiful spots on the rocky, rugged Maine coast. We are set into the woods, up a hill, with wonderful ocean vistas. Take in the sounds and aroma of crashing surf. Observe the distant islands in the Gulf of Maine, including magnificent Monhegan Island. Watch lobster boats bring in their tasty catch.
The cottage is just a few steps from the Rachel Carson Salt Pond Nature Preserve. Other short walks (~1/2 mile) along the ocean will bring you to lovely Long Cove Point, or to New Harbor, an active fishing harbor with a lobster pound and restaurant, and the Hardy Boat cruises.
A 5 minute drive will get you to Pemaquid Beach-- a real gem in Midcoast Maine, or to the famed Pemaquid Point Lighthouse-- the scene of choice for the Maine quarter.
We invite you to enjoy a quiet, relaxing vacation, in the cool, summer sea breezes. We have no cable television, but we do offer a DVD player, music system, high speed internet, and many books.

Stayed for two weeks and loved it. The sweeping ocean view, combined with the constant sound of the surf crashing onto the shore, was mesmerizing. The cottage is really homey and comfortable, The kitchen, though tiny, is well equipped and we prepared several meals with ease. The location is perfect, with lots of great destinations within 30 minutes drive. We liked the proprietors, Pam and Bennet Brooks, so well we had them over for dinner!
There are a few things that could use sprucing up. The bathroom is downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs, so if you’re like me and need to make a few overnight calls of nature, that part is a little challenging.
But we all agreed we would stay here again in a heartbeat. This place is special.

My family and I stayed at Pam’s cottage for a week in July. The cottage is very cute and well maintained. The sunroom was great to relax in at night. The deck was my favorite place to relax. There are ocean views from the deck and you can hear the waves crashing. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable. The front upstairs bedroom has the same ocean view that the deck has. The kitchen is small but we were able to make it work. There is a tiny shower in the bathroom and that’s the only thing that could use an improvement. The location is very nice. There is a very steep driveway to get to the cottage. So be aware. It is not paved. We loved the ice cream stand in town. There is a nice grocery store in town as well. Highly recommend Pemaquid Seafood. It’s about 5-10 minutes from the cottage. Pemaquid beach was crowded but nice that it was 5 minutes away. Pam is very easy to communicate with and very responsive. I would definitely recommend a stay at her cottage!

Beautiful view! Listened to the waves at night. Peaceful retreat, lovely spacious cottage.

We have stayed at this cozy cottage a number of years. It is comfortable clean and very relaxing. View of ocean and you can hear the waves and seagull along with the bouy bell in the distance. The pictures need to be updated as Pam has made some nice improvements. The beds are comfortable quite neighbors. Thers is also a great country market very close where you can get almost anything you need. Hardy boat tours within walking distance too. Pemiquid lighthouse a few miles down the road never disappoints . Cute cozy restaurant and gift shop next door with a great view of the crashing waves and lighthouse. It is our favorite place to getaway and relax and regroup. There is plenty of activities close by Monhegan island, Pemaquid, state beach, kayaking, and shopping. In the quaint town of Darimascotta .Enjoy!

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Pam and Bennett’s beautiful property! They were such gratious hosts with a well appointed cabin. It was the cleanest rental we have ever been in with special attention to detail. The kitchen was well stocked and we just loved all the different seating areas! There were so many comfy choice locations from the outside with a “woodsy” feel and amazing ocean views, inside living area and a huge screened in porch! We are a family of five adults and there was plenty of space and beds were veey comfortable. We enjoyed the local eateries and surrounding area as this cabin house is in a great location to the beach, restaurants, lobster docks, grocery store, ferry to outer island and hiking. Thank you so much for an amazing week!

We loved our stay in Pam & Bennett’s cottage! The sound of the ocean and sea breezes made it so relaxing. Beautiful views from the enclosed front of the cottage allowed a nice view of the woods and ocean at all hours. Close drive to Pemaquid Beach and lighthouse. Check out the Laverne trail and Hardy Boat cruises, all close by. Beautiful area of Maine!

The property was good as a place to home base from on longer trips, but it's at the point where it needs some maintenance and the kitchen is old enough to pose some challenges for the home cook. If you're eating out every night and spending most days on the beach/road, it's perfect.

Another wonderful week in our favorite cottage. It is the most relaxing time the we anticipate all year. If you are thinking about staying here you wont regret it simply wonderful. We love the new queen size bed that was a nice addition. Pam and Bennett were so friendly and accommodating and thanks for the suggestion on hiking the LaVerna preserve it was so pretty. Patti & Alan

This rental was relaxing with a great view of the ocean and lots of wildlife. If you stay, be sure to check out Pam's binder on the area - lots of spot-on recommendations for things to do and places to eat.

Lovely and relaxing!
What a lovely place to relax and spend quality time with family! We just returned from a week at Pamela and Bennett’s beautiful cottage, and my husband had to practically pry me away from the view from the front deck at the end of the week! This house was perfect for us- It had enough traditional, rustic, cottage charm to make us feel relaxed, welcomed and warm, as well as enough thoughtful, modern amenities to make our stay convenient and stress- free! Pamela and Bennett are kind and thoughtful hosts, and if I ever needed to reach out, Pamela always responded promptly, patiently, and kindly. :)
We love to be active, so we were up just after sunrise to take gorgeous walks, runs, and bike rides right from the house. My husband is an artist, so he was never at a loss for finding incredible places to take pictures for reference or set up his easel.
We also ventured out to try many of the suggestions made by Pamela and Bennet and some others they had left in a very helpful book. We took a guided Kayak tour in Pemaquid Harbor, walked in LaVerna Preserve ( entrance is right down the road) and even drove out to do some beautiful hiking in Camden Hill State Park ( less than 1 hour drive). In spite of all of that adventuring, we were all enchanted by the unspoiled beauty of New Harbor itself, and we spent hours on the porch or in the sunroom reading, chatting or playing games. It was everything g we needed, and I can’t get back there soon enough!
Thanks again, Pam and Bennett, for sharing this serene place with us!

Family Reunion on the Coast of Maine
For years our family vacationed on the coast of Maine. Now grown with kids of own we wanted to relive these memories and create new ones with our kids. We could not have hoped for a more ideal cottage to host our reunion! The house was comfortable, the views of Mohegan off the front deck were spectacular and each night we’d listen to the surf before bed. I know the next time we visit it will feel more like coming home than going on vacation.

Comfortable, Cozy & Relaxing Cottage
Lovely cottage at an excellent location. The front porch (sunroom) was a wonderful place to settle down in after our days enjoying the super outdoor activities; an area of true natural beauty. We were very happy and comfortable to dine in, cooking our meals, visiting the local grocery for fresh veggies and enjoying afternoon ice cream in New Harbor after hiking. The sound of the ocean, harbor bells, lobster boats coming in, and the breeze through the trees added that extra romantic flavor, atmosphere, when dreaming of coastal Maine. We have already recommended this charming cottage and its thoughtful owners to our friends looking to visit this beautiful part of New England.

Idyllic Maine retreat
Truly a wonderful week of relaxing time . Beautiful ocean and island view with the sound of the waves hitting the rocky shore. We honestly stay in the cottage 70 % of the time we needed to relax. We love the area and have explored all around for many years . Much to see and do. The cottage is cozy and quaint loved it. Even though we never met Pam in person we spoke on the phone a few times. She was very accommodating.. my only negative point to be honest in my review is the double bed would be difficult to have another couple its very creaky and the mattress is noisy. If that were fixed i would have given five stars. Nethertheless we booked another week next summer cant wait .

Great house in great area
Very clean house. Legitimate three bedrooms, all delightful. Great view! We had some kind of storm and the sound of the waves crashing was incredible. Very easy to use this house to either relax and read or as a base for exploring. Great location. Near to everything but still felt truly private. Would highly recommend.

Peaceful and quiet getaway.
If your looking to unplug this is your destination. Not a lot of places to go for dinner or recreation, just peace and quiet with no distractions. Loved the cool ocean breeze on the deck until dark then onto screened front porch to escape the bugs which weren’t terrible but there. No TV, no Cell service at times although they do have a landline which we gave no one.and internet if you desire it.

Fantastic Maine vacation spot
The location in the Bristol area is wonderful - didn’t feel overrun with tourists, access to delicious seafood (& fresh out of the water seafood, if you want to DIY cook), and low key things to do (the beach, the lighthouse, the Rachel Carson Salt Pond preserve…).
The cottage is rustic and has a vintage charm. The couple of flaws (dryer takes forever to dry a small load of items, couldn’t figure out how to use the oven) are easily overlooked given all of the positive features. You really can’t beat the view, and you can hear the ocean from almost everywhere inside and outside the cottage.
The electricity was out on our last evening there (for seemingly no good reason - no storms, no wind, etc.), but there were flashlights, a candle, and bottles of water in the shed. And our kindly neighbor renting next door offered us water from the hot tub for flushing the toilet.
All in all, an amazing spot that we hope to return to next summer!

Peaceful space, beautiful view
We visited Pam's cottage the week before July 4th and had a lovely time. It is set just back from the road up a hill and has plenty of trees, woods and shady areas to lounge. But I was pleasantly surprised at how close to the water it actually is and the view from the deck is gorgeous. The home itself is airy and feels spacious - our almost 2-year old loved exploring and we felt totally comfortable with him playing anywhere on the house or property. There isn't a tub but the outdoor shower (with hot water) provided the perfect opportunity for him to clean off and learn a new skill. Hope the neighbors didn't mind too much!
Like other reviewers have said, the house has all the right amenities to feel cozy and lived in without being overstuffed. We also loved the option to eat inside or outside and clearly Pam and her family have put great thought into creating interesting and comfortable spaces throughout.
New Harbor has everything you need - a wonderful grocery store, ice cream shop, bakery, galleries, gas station and bank (note that there aren't sidewalks in the town or from the house so easiest with a car). Day trips to the beach, lighthouse, Damariscotta, etc. are super easy and the house has a great binder with tons of resources.
Check-in and out were a breeze, and Pam even mailed me some earrings that I'd left behind! I so miss Maine...
Thanks for a great stay!

Great setting, relaxing place!
This is a great place to stay for a relaxing time in a relaxing location. Sitting on the screened in porch and seeing and hearing the ocean is amazing.
Pam is fantastic to work with and I would highly recommend staying here!

Nice rustic house by the sea
We really enjoyed staying in Pam and Bennet small house by the sea. The house and internal furniture and decoration is at best rustic, but it mostly works and is cozy in its own way. We loved the terrace and not the least view and sounds of nature and the ocean. Perfectly situated with access to small villages, hiking, a tiny beach and fishing opportunities.

We had a great time exploring the mid coast area with this sweet cottage as our base.

What a great spot! We already love the area from years of visits. Cabin is the perfect home base.
The highlight is the view of the ocean and islands from the deck, whether over morning coffee or with a nightcap and the moon on the water. But, the cabin itself is great: easy little sunny kitchen with great old gas stove, cozy sunroom with games and plenty of spots to sit and stare at the view or lay and read, and from all the bedrooms you will hear the wind through the trees and crashing of waves. We were sad to leave and plan to return next summer.

A photographer's delight!
This is the most restful and beautiful location anyone would want for a vacation get-away! I've been coming to this cottage almost yearly for most of my adult life, have taken some if my best pictures around this area, and have recommended this cottage to so many delighted friends. My grown sons have brought their girl-friends to actually spend family time together; we all love having the freshly caught lobster right on the dock nearby, have breakfast on the deck gazing at the magnificent ocean view, and listen to the breeze and smell the ocean air. With the latest updates and renovations the owners have recently added, this spot is truly a gem!

Breathtaking!
My family has been renting this cottage for over 25 years. A summer is not complete until we spend at least a week here in Maine! This cottage is the perfect place to experience coastal Maine. The cottage is kept in great condition and is perfect to accommodate at least 5 people. The location is fabulous as it is right across the street from the ocean and you will wake up every morning to the sound of waves crashing in the distance! The cottage is also minutes away from the historic Pempaquid Point Lighthouse as well as the colonial Pemaquid Fort. My favorite part of all, being a huge fan of Maine lobster, is that you can walk right over to the local New Harbor lobster fisherman's co-op where the lobster is as fresh as can be!

Most Enjoyable Vacation
My husband and I always enjoy staying at the cottage. I love reading a book in the sun room listening to the ocean. Our favorite breakfast place is only a few minutes away at Seagull Shop at Pemaquid Point. You can sit in the sun and watch the waves crashing. Our favorite luncheon spot is within walking distance - good food and you can watch the fisherman bring in their lobsters. The beach is close if you're in the beach mood, and plenty of attractions to go see like a trip to Monhegan Island, Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, and the Colonial Museum and Fort.
