Gorgeous views to Lake Champlain Bridge and Adirondacks. This beautiful property is located at the end of the road, with 2.5 total acres, making it quiet and private. Bridport is conveniently located in central Vermont, 14 miles west of Middlebury and 35 miles southwest of Burlington. We are close to a wide range of activities and attractions.
Wonderful year-round home, the ideal location for your summer vacation and also winter activities including ice fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, relaxing, etc. Close to Middlebury, Vergennes, Bristol VT for fine dining and shopping. Less than 1 hour from Burlington VT.
Perfect place to stay while visiting Middlebury College students and/or attending events such as parent's week, orientation, mid-year and May graduation. Also plenty of room for family reunions.
Main level: Great room with dining area (table seats 10), well-equipped kitchen with island and additional 3 stools. There is also a sitting area with pull-out sleeper couch and armchair. Two bedrooms are on this level, one with a queen bed, the other with 2 twin beds. A full bathroom with tub/shower adjoins the bedrooms.
Floor to ceiling windows look out to a roofed wraparound deck overlooking the lake. Enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee on the cushioned seating or patio table/chairs and watch birds, boats, and wildlife.
Upper level: Large master loft area with king-size bed, full bathroom (shower) and sitting area where you can watch ROKU TV from 2 easy chairs.
Lower level: Family room with 2 couches, TV, pellet stove, and dining table (sits 6). There is an office area with an additional full-size refrigerator. Wall to ceiling bookcases hold dozens of puzzles, games and books for guests to enjoy. There is a full bathroom (shower) and washer and dryer located on this level. Floor to ceiling windows face the lake.
Outside: Step outside from the lower level to another roofed deck facing the lake where you can sit and enjoy a patio and yard area with picnic table, gas grill, and fire pit with wooden seats. The closed shed stores life vests, inflatables and oars/paddles. Semi-steep gravel driveway to a shale shoreline and dock. Shore is not sandy and when water level is low the water can be murky and weedy. Small boat launching access right on property.
Backyard large lawn near the barn is perfect for entertaining, lawn games (crochet, badminton, volleyball, horse shoes provided) or just relaxing. With 2.5 acres of land, there is lots of space for parking (cars and boat trailers) and pets to run.
Fishing can be done right off our dock, as the area is a popular spot for local fishermen. Swimming conditions are not optimal when water level is low, at the end of the summer, so we provide a canoe, rowboat, 2-person kayak, and paddle boat in addition to inflatable rafts and tubes to enjoy the lake. Life vests and oars are provided, too.

It was so quiet! I thought that it would be really busy with boaters and vacationers, but it was absolute quiet! The house was wonderful. Big enough for my husband, two teens, a dog and myself. The view was absolutely beautiful. We had everything we needed at the house so we could just hang out, swim, fish, and read! We were close to Fort Ticonderoga and Mount Defiance which was so much fun to learn about the history in that area. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your home! We really enjoyed it and did not want to go home.

We spent six nights at the wonderful lake house while attending our son’s Middlebury College graduation. It was close enough to attend all functions but had the extra benefit of the lake and all of it’sql beauty. The house was an excellent place to make it a great trip and was exactly as noted in the listing. Very comfortable and inviting house in an absolutely beautiful location.

House and location were exactly as listed in the VRBO description. Very clean, very attractive, very comfortable, with a great view of Lake Champlain from the porches. Water craft were available, but we did not use them. We did swim by the private dock. Pleasant Vermont scenic drives led to restaurants in nearby Middlebury, Vergennes, Burlington, and the Lake Champlain Islands. The Shelburne Museum is definitely recommended.
We very much enjoyed our week here and plan to return. Many thanks to excellent hosts Charles and Pat.

Our family has outgrown the childhood home! We wanted a place near us where everyone could have their own space but rooms big enough for us all to congregate! This home fit the bill perfectly! Very comfortable furnishings. Big open spaces with high ceilings. Huge table where we all had our meals together. Plenty of space for our four year old granddaughter to successfully play hide and seek! Nice master suite on the top level where we all sprawled out and watched movies at night. Plenty of games were available for us to choose from. We played a couple of rowdy Uno games! All in all a successful solution to outgrowing our little home and letting us all be together! Would love to come again during the warmer months too!

I can’t say enough about this beautiful property! The location is quiet and very secluded and the home is so comfortable! We felt like we were home from the moment we walked in.
The highlight is definitely the view of Lake Champlain! We spent a majority of our time on the second floor deck looking at the lake and bird watching. The view of the lake from inside on the second floor is spectacular as well. Our little dachshund had such a blast watching the chipmunks and being out on the deck with us.
The beds were so comfortable and the entire house was loaded with all types of amenities. Just a fabulous, fabulous place! The homeowners communicated so well and gave very thorough instructions. We can’t wait to plan our next trip!

We had a perfect trip. We were a group of 6 with 2 children. The children did not want to leave. If you love nature this is the place to go. The fishing was excellent. The canoe and kayak provided were great. The floats were provided too and we loved them. The lake is beautiful. We only left the house one day to see the shops in Burlington. We just did not want to leave the lake. The house has everything you need and was the best equipped house we ever rented. Thank you for providing the perfect location and home.

This was our third summer staying at Pat and Charlie’s place! Their home on the lake affords a lovely view of Lake Champlain! The kitchen is equipped with most anything one might need for meal prep. There is plenty of room to spread out on the three levels. We especially love the huge dining table that allows our group to all sit down for a nice meal or an intense game of scrabble. Pat and Charlie were always quick to respond to all questions and concerns. I strongly recommend this lovely home for a stay!!

Our blended family of 6 adults stayed here for Middlebury College’s graduation weekend. It was a perfect fit for all of us to be together. The location is gorgeous, too!

We stayed for 8 days (us, our 2 young adult kids and our dog), and the house was as lovely and well furnished as promised. I could have done with a tad more spring in this spring break, but that is, as they say, a “me problem.” My family had no such complaints. I would love to return when Lake Champlain isn’t iced over and we could use all of the gear the owners provided for water fun. All in all, a restful setting with all the creature comforts, and the owners were responsive to the small questions we had early in our stay.

We so enjoyed our stay in Bridport. We sat on the porch and watched the leaves on the trees across the water turn colors. We watched the ducks on their daily commute. It was just peaceful and lovely. Thank you, Pat and Charles!

This property was perfect for us! Well stocked and detailed instructions for everything. Communications with the hosts was also amazing! Beautiful Views
We were in Bridport for a wedding. This was the perfect location to relax and also explore this part of Vermont. This home had everything we needed for our 3-day stay! One person in our group had a minor issue with hot water. Charles was very quick to reply and it was an easy fix! We thoroughly enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the deck!

Lake Champlain Lake House
If you enjoy "lake time,'" this is the place for you. Great view of the lake, kayaks ready to use, and a fire pit overlooking the lake.
In addition, the house is roomy, and has all of the comforts of home. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Great Week on the Lake
My family spent a wonderful week on Lake Champlain at Herron's Watch. The property and house were accurately described. The house was fully stocked with whatever was needed. The upper level covered deck provided beautiful views of the lake and had ample seating and room. It lacked a table that would accommodate 6 adults though the lower level did provide a large picnic table and inside had ample options. The setting within this cove on the lake was very private and peaceful. We enjoyed the firepit, lawn games and the tranquility of the surrounding countryside. I recommend it highly.

Beautiful lakeside retreat
Heron’s Watch was an incredible place for our weeklong family vacation in late summer. We spent mornings drinking coffee on the porch overlooking Lake Champlain and enjoyed paddling and fishing by the house. The house is well appointed, clean and comfortable…we cooked most of our meals and were quite satisfied with the well stocked kitchen. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Lovely spot for a quiet getaway
This was a much needed respite from a really hectic year for our family. The house was well appointed and comfortable. The owners were very easy to communicate with and responsive. We loved kayaking, watching eagles and ospreys fish, playing yard games (which became much easier after the really long grass was mowed), and just chilling out. The house has three full bathrooms which was perfect for our clan. The beds were comfortable and best of all, during a very hot and humid week the house had air conditioning which made all the difference. We didn’t mind the lake weed, as others have complained about. We rented a boat and swam offshore. The water is super cold! I had forgotten that about Champlain. Great vacation hone and we’d love to stay again.

Peaceful Getaway
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful week at Heron's Watch Lake House. The house was very clean and spacious with plenty of room for the seven of us. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dinnerware and all that we needed to cook our daily meals. We loved the wrap around deck and spent most of our waking hours on it Thank you Pat and Charlie for sharing your beautiful home. We hope that we can make this trip to Vermont an annual thing!

Fishing trip
We had a lot of fun at the house. They had every amenity needed. We spent most of are time fishing on the water. I grew up in that bay so I know it well this is a great spot for early may and June cat fishing

Heron's Nest
This house was beyond perfect for our yearly fishing expedition with 6 friends who have been friends for close to 50 years. The House has everything you could possibly want or need from the well stocked kitchen to the downstairs family room. The Dock was able to hold 2 fishing boats without much of an issue and the fishing for Pike and Bass was great.

This place was perfect for our short vacation. Even though there were only 2 of us we hope to be back with our adult children next year. The location was perfect, in the middle of farmland, with no traffic noise and plenty of nature. The place was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and the gas grill is better than what I have at home. The hosts were very attentive and responded quickly when we had questions. Sitting by the campfire with the moon glistening off the lake is just what the doctor ordered.
