Welcome to Steel Magnolia (f/k/a The Southern Belle II), a premier elegant vacation beach rental home at Fripp Island. I purchased the home in September of 2018 and spent the first few months of ownership making upgrades and personal touches. This home has a long & successful rental history with many happy renters under the previous owner. The Steel Magnolia is our family's "Happy Place!" We look forward to creating countless memories here for generations to come. Therefore, we take great pride in our home and are so excited to share it with your family. Our cozy home will be perfect for your families’ Fripp vacation. We are confident that you will make memories that last a lifetime.
The home was designed and furnished by the leading home designers in Beaufort. As you approach our 5 Bedroom 4.5 Bath home that sleeps 12, you will be charmed by this beautiful stunning Southern Home with its gracious and inviting front porch with Charleston-style columns and rockers that leads you into the front entry of this grand home. Once you step into our home, the views and nature surround you. Your breath will be taken away!
Our home has been designed to make your stay both pleasurable and comfortable as possible. It is our pleasure to provide you a great opportunity to relax with your loved ones and to treasure the experience.
The first level of Steel Magnolia provides 2 master bedrooms. The first master bedroom offers a King-size Bedroom overlooking the golf course and ponds with an ocean view setting. Waiting for you is your private luxury bathroom that includes our marble two-person walk in shower with its jetted spas. The granite vanity includes double bowl tops and old-world faucets.
On the other side of our home is the second master Queen-size bedroom with a private bath. The master bedrooms will have luxury bath robes waiting for you and your loved ones.
The home is adorned with rich wood floors and crown molding throughout the Foyer, the Great Room, and the Dining area. Our Dining area offers beautiful views. You will have many great gatherings here. The Great room showcases a large fireplace mantel as the focal point with a large LCD TV and surround sound for movie enjoyment and great family viewing. We have also provided movies for more family fun time options.
Our luxury Gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and high end stainless steel appliances are well equipped for all the ladies and gentlemen in the home to enjoy. The kitchen overlooks the Great room for great family gatherings.
For continuous relaxation, the screened porch may be the best room in the house. Comfy seating, ceiling fan, patio curtains, hanging edison lights, built-in Bose speakers, and the breathtaking scenery...heavenly! As if that weren’t enough, there’s a large outside deck overlooking the golf course with the ocean views in the background to sit and enjoy or do some great grilling on the propane gas Weber grill. The extra long teak outdoor dining set will be the preferred spot to enjoy a family meal.
All bedding, pillows, linens, and towels will be provided for your stay.
On the second level of Steel Magnolia you will find 3 more bedrooms. One bedroom has a Queen bed with superior views and a large private bath. Another Queen Size bedroom leads out to a private deck overlooking the golf courses, ponds, and ocean. The deck is a great place for private tanning or just reading a great book. The 3rd bedroom has 2 bunk beds that will sleep 4 and a Jack and Jill Private Bath.
We want to make sure you are in luxury comfort. Our home provides your family with convenience and leisure. We’ve outfitted the home with a golf cart and a family ping pong table that will be waiting for the family tournaments. Also enjoy our double-sized outside shower.
This is the perfect home to enjoy all that Fripp has to offer. Amenity cards are available for purchase so you and your family can have access to all that makes Fripp the ideal vacation spot! Just a quick 5 minute ride on the golf cart to enjoy the pristine beach and pools.

We enjoyed our stay as the island never disappoints and this home was just perfect for our group. Having the two golf carts was a definite plus for the experience.

The a/c could not keep up! Two units could not keep the upstairs below 84 degrees at night. Lower level was 74 to 78 degrees. Yes it was 95 degrees some days. Our house in Ohio on 95 degree days can be brought down to 70 degrees. I was very uncomfortable. The talk of 2 golf carts did not happen, a second (and third) showed up the day we were leaving. This was a huge disappointment causing issues with getting the family to the beach accesses. The furniture in the great room was shot. Worn out, uncomfortable.

This was a great house and the only reason I marked it as 4 stars is due to the air conditioning which was chugging along but struggled with the temperatures outside. But the property manager was taking action on this for future clients.
The house was clean, the beds were great (best I've had on vacation yet!), and had not only 1 but 2 golf carts. We rented a 3rd thinking there was only 1 but honestly this worked out perfectly with 3 couples and some grandkids!
I would definetly rent this home again for future family vacations!

We had such a lovely stay— great layout of the home, bathrooms off of every room & with a fully stocked kitchen. It was so easy to do meals in! We had amazing weather so we didn’t spend much time in, however, the golf carts included made our stay so fun and easy to explore! Loved that bonus! Kim was super responsive & a great communicator. There is a big osprey nest off the back porch which we loved to watch while we ate and chatted in the evenings! Great family time! Definitely hope to return!

Such a great time with the family here at Fripp. We loved all the amenities and the gorgeous scenery. The deer were just adorable. What a lovely time. Also, an Osprey nest right out our back porch. Loved watching the Osprey parents feed the babies fish. Loved this place so much! Will definitely be back.

Loved this property and community. Kim was amazing and home was perfect for what we needed. Island is so beautiful and chill. Loved it all. Lots of wildlife too - Osprey, Alligators and deer all over.

Great location for a day trip to Savannah and another to Beaufort. Fun having golf carts to explore the island. Each couple enjoyed having their own bathroom off their bedroom. Kitchen was very well stocked and we made several meals. Good dinner at Sea Side Bar & Grill. Great day at the beach, beautiful sunsets. Had fun checking out Bubbas for ice cream! Couch isn’t so comfortable and house needs some maintenance.

We loved returning to Fripp once again! The house was perfect for all of our family….golf cart too! We loved the location and house layout. Only thing that could use improvement would be the couch in the living room. Appeared very dirty and worn out.
Other than that we had a great time, can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful home in an idyllic southern island setting. Loved the quiet, serene neighborhood with frequent wildlife sightings. Perfect place to relax and reconnect with family. We loved using the golf carts to get around the island. The home owner was extremely quick to respond to any questions or requests. Would love to return!

We've stayed in multiple rentals at Fripp over the past several years. Steel Magnolia exceeded our expectations and is now our #1 favorite place on Fripp. The family areas, kitchen, porches, bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for our group. The kitchen was well stocked with every pot, pan, bowl and tool we needed. The back deck is awesome! There is a covered, screened porch to relax on and a Smoker/Gas Grill combo. We watched college football ball games, played card games, ate, drank, and enjoyed the heck out of this place. To top everything off, two golf carts came with the rental - one 4 passenger and one six passenger. The best review we can give is that we WILL be back to Steel Magnolia to create more Fripp memories!

The house has a great floor plan. Small work space in kitchen but homeowners do supply a great grill and beautiful large teak table on large deck. It was too windy for us to risk using the grill. The beds and linens were very nice and comfortable.
We all loved the porches as well as the nice golf carts. View out back was beautiful!!
While the kitchen was fully stocked with herbs/ spices and paper products.. I would have appreciated dish detergent as well as laundry detergent to wash towels before checking out, as well as other paper supplies. We did go out and purchase.
I would definitely stay again, but would love some attention to the kitchen floor as well as the sofa.
We had two issues right after checking in, but both were resolved by homeowner immediately.

There were 6 of us, plenty of room, great accommodations. Kim was accessible and very responsive. We had problems with the thermostat the first night and it was taken care of in the morning. Loved the property and Fripp Island.

The location is absolutely beautiful and the amenties are awesome. However, the house is not well maintained and not clean. The kitchen is well stocked for people who enjoy cooking but everything had to rewashed because people put dishes away dirty. There was trash left in the garage area from previous renters. Lastly, I did not appreciate my last night on vacation be interrupted by the hosts family, dropping off linens for next renters and informing me to wash all towels when the instructions clearly state two loads. very awkward and uncomfortable.

We absolutely loved this property. The layout was amazing. We spent most of our time at the house on the back deck. There is also a screened in porch out back which the kids loved. Would love to visit again. Would recommend new living room furniture due to the sectional being completely worn out. Also, it took forever to dry clothes in the dryer.

Nice floor plan for family, with everyone having their own bathroom. There were plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards and sand toys. The golf carts were also included which is convenient.

This was our first time on Fripp Island and we loved it! This house was the perfect fit for us. We had plenty of room to all be together and everyone had the own space when they needed some down time. I loved sitting on the back porch and watching the golfers and deer. The golf carts were a great addition and allowed us to explore the island in style 😁
The pools and beaches were just a short ride away and we enjoyed long days going from beach to pool. The adult pool by the Sandbar was our favorite. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals-we found everything we needed. Also it was nice that there was plenty of paper goods at our disposal. It really did feel like home away from home!! This was one of my favorite family vacations. There was so much to do that every one was happy. We even participated in some of the resort activities like tie dye and bingo. And of course we enjoyed golfing, tennis, using the fitness room and simply going for walks with so many beautiful views. I really can’t say enough!!

Plenty of space for all 12 of us at Steel Magnolia and lots to do for all ages. We had a great time and golf Cart was included. Kitchen had everything except an air fryer, rooms were spacious, and we enjoyed playing ping pong when we weren’t in the pool or on the beach.

A great week on Fripp
We returned to Fripp for the first time in about 8 years and were so happy to find the island just as magical as we left it. Kim’s house worked out absolutely perfectly for 2 families. 4 adults, 2 teens, and 3 kids. The property is clean and as described. Great floor plan and plenty of space. Golf carts worked well for our group. Quiet location closer to the Ocean Point side of the island. Easy golf cart rides to beaches, pools, grocery store and mid-island Food Court/ Marina.

Great family vacation
The home was comfortable for our family of ten. The kitchen is very well equipped, the beds were very comfortable, and we had a beautiful view of the golf course with many deer and the neighborhood gator. We enjoyed the pools, golf course and the beach.

Nice house with small but well furnished rooms. We were pleasantly surprised at the abundance of supplies but my wife suggested better communication of these pluses would reduce supplies we would have to bring. Internet often unavailable and always slow. Sectional couch in great room very low and should be replaced to be senior friendly. Safety handles in master bath needed.

We had a great time! House had a great layout, was well stocked and owner was super responsive. Our entire group wants to come back so looks like we'll return next year! Definitely recommend this house to everyone.

Our family enjoyed our second visit to Steel Magnolia just as much as our first. This property fit our needs very well. The bunk room is a big hit with the kids.

This was our second stay on Fripp Island. Kim’s home is beautiful and the perfect location. She was very responsive to any questions we had. Hope to visit the Steel Magnolia again next year!
