About this house rental

Bright, sun drenched house with ocean views on Two sides. Two outdoor dining areas. All corner bedrooms with windows on 2 or 3 sides allowing maximum cool ocean breezes.
This charming cape cottage is located in heart of Old Village. The property has a long rental history with most clients returning year after year ( some for 25 years ! ) There is abundant outdoor space for your enjoyment. Stroll down the driveway to the Holway Street beach. Meander around the light house and quaint Old Village. It is less than a ten minute walk to town with shopping, restaurants, band concerts, etc.
The main living area includes a large sunroom with sensational views of Chatham Harbor. There are windows and sliders on three sides. You can watch the boating activities in Chatham Harbor or enjoy the large flat screen tv and sound system. This is the perfect room for family activities or even a small party. Adjacent to the sunroom and accessible via French Doors is the living room and dining area with easy open flow. A Sonos system and new Smart Tv are here as well. The fully equipped kitchen with new appliances opens to the dining area.
Also on the first floor are two bedrooms. One has a queen size bed and the other twin beds. Each bedroom has its own AC system to keep you cool. There is a full bath with tub and shower on the first floor. Just off the first floor hallway are the washer and drier.
Step downstairs off the hallway to a marvelous entertainment center with large flat screen TV, CD player, BlueRay and Stereo Surround Sound. The area is much appreciated by young people, their parents and sports fans alike.
On the second level are two corner bedrooms with each again having its independently operated AC system. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, new smart TV, abundant closets and a desk for writing or working. The other bedroom at the opposite end of the hall has a trundle bed with two single size mattresses. Along the hallway separating the two bedrooms is a full bath with tub and shower.
Access to the sensational roof deck is via the south facing upstairs bedroom. The views from this deck are equal to any on Cape Cod. The deck is equipped with a full size round teak table with chairs as well as chaise lounges and side tables. You are guaranteed to spend many memorable hours here viewing the sunrise, observing boating activities, watching the sunset and viewing the moon over Chatham Harbor.
Off the dining area on first floor is a flagstone deck equipped with a gas grill and two dining tables for eating alfresco. Chatham Harbor activity can be witnessed from this deck as well as from the adjacent south facing lawn with chaise lounges and chairs. There is an outdoor shower near the deck.
During the high season preference is given to weekly rentals on a Saturday to Saturday basis. The rate schedule explains the details.The listing price is highly competitive for area and the house itself. From 1 May until 22 June and again from 7 September to 4 December rentals with a 3 day minimum are possible. Cleaning fees are applied for all rentals. Any low season rental for a week or longer is granted a fifteen percent discount.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and town of Chatham are now enforcing a short term rental tax on all properties rented for less than 30 days after 1 July 2019. This tax is 12.45% and payable by tenant to the owner who in turn is responsible to convey the tax to MA and Chatham. A five hundred dollar potentially returnable damage waiver is to be paid at time of final rental payment. The tenant may also wish to secure Accidental Damage Waiver (ADW).
Pets may be welcomed. The tenant should inquire with the owner as to whether a pet will be allowed.
This is a nonsmoking property and that includes vaporizing and Juul pods as well as Ecigarettes, cigarettes . cigars and other devices that create smoke..
Linens and towels are provided as well as beach chairs and a beach umbrella.

You simply cannot beat the location of this house. Ocean views from the porch and deck, quick walk to a beautiful beach, walk to town, it’s perfect. The house is old Cape, and quirky, and not perfect. But charming and just what we needed for a two week holiday.

We have stayed in many houses on the Cape and this one was definitely in the best location! The house had everything we needed. The kitchen is updated with new appliances and there was a thoughtful care package left upon our arrival. We enjoyed long walks on the beach and in the surrounding neighborhood. A great house for a relaxing vacation.

Location, location, location! This is by far the best location we had since we’ve been coming to Cape Cod over the past 10+ years. The house is well equipped, the views from the roof deck were gorgeous, and the sun room was such a nice room to have with all the windows open and experiencing that ocean breeze 24/7. The entire family said “this is the house we want next year,” so we’ll be coming back. Thank you for opening up your lovely home and looking forward to next year!

Family members were a bit leery about total cost, but having winnowed dozens of potential VRBO's for a small reunion, I assured them this offered the best bang for the buck and split among 6 adults it is not ruinous. Any lingering doubts vanished upon arrival. The ne plus ultra C. Cod location offered breathtaking sunrise/sunsets and we caught a dramatic full hunter's moon rise over the ocean. The house had everything - very homey and well equipped, the kitchen has everything but the food. The coffee maker with built in grinder has a steep learning curve, takes careful operation. For seafood out try Mac's Chatham Seafood and Lobster on Main - so good! The only downside is you'll wish you had more time there.

Quintessential Cape Cod- Comfortable, well appointed traditional cape cod cottage. Great location to the beach or town. Unpretentious- perfect for our family of four and grandparents. I imagine it is amazing in the summer!! Chuck made check in and check out easy. Thanks for making our Cape Cod Fall long weekend getaway fantastic!!

This is a classic older Chatham rental, a stone’s throw to the beach and a short walk to town. The view from the upper deck is a splendid ocean view. The amenities are spare, but the home is close to so much. — the beach, golf, and shopping and feels private at the same time.

The views were absolutely as gorgeous as promised. The neighborhood was quiet, but so convenient to downtown Chatham, the Chatham Bars Inn, and Lighthouse beach. We walked to restaurants and we walked the beautiful Holway beach right on the block. We are long time visitors to Chatham and we know how special this home is. The house itself is clean and well appointed- beautiful kitchen, lovely sunroom with gorgeous views, upstairs porch is amazing, bedrooms are comfortable and well situated in the house. We didn’t use the media room downstairs because there was so much to do we didn’t need to watch TV - but what a nice bonus at a beach house! For 25 years we’ve been staying in Chatham and this is at the top!

The quintessential Cape cod experience. This house is in the most desirable location in the most desirable town on the Cape. It is a short and easy walk to Main St. but tucked away in a private, quiet cul-de-sac; a lovely beach is literally about two minutes away on foot. Perhaps best of all, it has a truly spectacular view: a broad expanse of water and beach, with sand bars and more water beyond. Not to mention the vast sky and the best birdwatching you could ask for. While there is plenty to do in and around Chatham, you just may find yourself just staying home and drinking in the view for hours at a time, in a state of complete relaxation. The house itself is very comfortable and very well equipped, old-fashioned and charming in an authentically Cape Cod kind of way. The sunroom on the first floor is all doors and windows, all of which can be opened to let in the wonderful sea breeze and plenty of sunshine. And you couldn’t ask for a better spot to watch the sunrise, coffee in hand, or the sunset, champagne or cocktail in hand, than the roof deck, with its commanding view. There is good TV and audio equipment, including a TV in the master bedroom as well as a big one on the sunporch, if that’s your thing. The flagstone patio is spacious and attractive, with comfortable seating for 12, and a good working grill. Comfortable mattresses on the beds are another plus. All of this said, if you are looking for a fancy kind of place, with a granite- counter-topped kitchen and subway-tiled state-of-the-art shower stalls, this is probably not the place for you. The kitchen and both bathrooms are very clean and very functional, but simple and old-fashioned. Charming, to those of us who like such things, but not high-end luxury. In short, this is more of an outdoor wooden shower stall (what a treat!) kind of place than a gold-plated Jacuzzi kind of place. Chuck is an ideal host and a pleasure to work with. Very good about communication, flexible where possible, and unfailingly courteous. A particularly important plus for us was the fact that he takes COVID precautions very seriously, which allowed us to feel safe in an uncertain time. The professional cleaners not only clean, but disinfect, and when we arrived, every door and window in the place was wide open, so that air was circulating all through the house (a very good idea for COVID safety). Great Location, Family Wants to Come Back!

My family of four (two teenage boys) and friends had a great time at your property! The house was exactly what we wanted, very relaxing, nicely appointed, and a great view of the ocean! It's a short walk downtown, which we did many times, and a shorter walk to the beach. The outside deck on the second floor is a perfect spot in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee, and in the evening to relax with a glass of wine. Chuck was very responsive and we definitely plan on coming back!!

It is difficult to write a review that does this property justice. The house is exactly as described in the VRBO listing. It is in the most fabulous location--a 10 minute walk to Chatham Light and a 10 minute walk into the Village. The house is so comfortable and the views of the beach are just breathtaking--it takes effort to make oneself leave the house. The owner and property manager are very easy and pleasant to communicate with. This property is quite a find!
