About this house rental
Charming circa 1820 antique newly renovated. close to downtown Chatham (1.5 miles). Close to Fish Pier, Ryders Cove, Oyster Pond, coffee shops and Chatham A's ball field. A large outdoor deck sits under a large sycamore tree for outdoor dining and lounging. Multiple outdoor decks and patio spaces. Summer outdoor fire pit and large outdoor shower complete this peaceful getaway. New kitchen, baths and furniture. 1st floor has 2 large en suite king size bedrooms/baths. One with private deck; the other dressing room (suitable for infant if needed). Upstairs (2nd floor) has 1 queen w/sep dressing room and 4th bdrm has 2 built in ship bunks.One bath with shower/tub on 2nd floor. Perfect for 2-3 couples, Or family. Appropriate for up to 6 adults and children (not to exceed 8 total). This is an antique so access to 2nd floor has somewhat narrow stairway (see pic). In Season: This is a Saturday to Saturday rental i(or Sun to Sun) n the summer season (some exceptions). 6 day minimum. Check in is 3pm and check out is 9 am. Limit of 6 adults. Adults and children combination; 8 maximum. We are strict on this thank you. Bed Linens and Towels Provided. No beach towels; sorry. We live nearby and respond with any issues/questions quickly.

We stayed with three children and four adults at this beautiful home for a September wedding weekend. The host Jeanne was so gracious and organized, and the home is lovely and so well located. I would absolutely recommend this home!

We had a lovely time. The house was really nice. The rooms are a bit small, especially upstairs and the living space. We would have enjoyed more comfortable seating in the main room. The house was very clean and we enjoyed being in Chatham.

We stayed at this cottage for 10 days with another family. It’s a cozy cottage that is very well outfitted with all necessities, including kitchen necessities, and with contemporary furniture.
The owners were lovely to deal with and very responsive. We had a small hiccup and it was immediately dealt with.
The location is also very nice. Quiet and close to downtown and beaches.
Additional pluses: Outdoor shower, outdoor seating, A/C, charcoal grill, and some beach equipment (chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and toys).

We loved our stay. The flow of the house was nice and the porch made the space feel even larger, plus the kids loved building pillow forts on the large couch out there. The new outdoor shower was also a highlight with the four different showerheads. Short drive to the beaches and could bike to town. Jean was super responsive and even left us a welcome gift. All in all, a lovely stay.

Very nice and clean property. Nice linens and towels and outdoor furniture. By a busy road without a sidewalk, so walking from the property challenging. Close driving distance to town and beaches. Close to rail trail, biking distance.

We had a delightful stay at this property and the host went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The house is well appointed and we were very comfortable there. The host Jean was there to answer questions via text and made it all very easy.

We enjoyed our stay and found the location to be very convenient for everything that we wanted to do/see on the Cape. The home is well appointed and the owners are welcoming and attentive. Our favorite memory of this house will be the rabbit family that has adopted the yard to raise their babies. We saw kits multiple times a day. We would definitely stay here again.

My parents, husband, and two young kids wanted an end of summer family respite, and we found it in Jean’s home! The lovely cottage was well-appointed and in an excellent location, 1.7 miles away from the center of town. A note for the runners out there - it’s all rolling hills locally, so prepare yourselves! The previous reviews weren’t kidding - the beds were incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately, I’m the kind of traveler that is difficult to please with both the cleanliness and the comfort of a bed, so I was genuinely grateful for these. We even ordered the same mattress cover following our stay in hopes of improving our own bed at home! Jean was a wonderful host who responded quickly to any questions or issues we had. Lots of hosts can have great homes - but communication is key, and Jean didn’t disappoint. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Chatham. The historic house is beautifully decorated and outfitted with everything one needs. Two masters on the first level are great with king beds and separate bathes. We enjoyed the shaded outdoor space during the day and evening. The outdoor shower is the best! Great location close to all the activities in Chatham….a short drive to downtown. Jean was a great host and available to help with any questions or needs.

The perfect cape stay
I stayed at Jean’s property with 6 friends for a girls weekend. It was the perfect space, very clean and decorated beautifully. The location is great, very quick ride to get to town. Jean was a fabulous host, checking in with us throughout the weekend and offering wonderful suggestions. We will absolutely be back!

Great feel of Chatham and the location was GREAT!
When I first saw the pictures of this cottage, I knew it was the place for us! We Loved staying there and Jean the homeowner was awesome! Our family Loved everything about the place. FYI…. The beds were comfortable too and that’s usually not the case , since I am a mattress snob😂 I would hands down stay there again! Don’t miss this jewel !

Great Experience!
Several friends and I rented this property for a weekend. There were six adults and we were comfortable in this house. Jean was very easy to work with and the check-in process was seamless. The property was well maintained and the house was very clean! The furniture was updated and cozy. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to hopefully renting this house again soon!

What a great way to kick off the beginning of summer with family and friends!
The house was clean and well equipped for our get together and Jean was such a lovely and responsive hostess.
We had everything we needed for our stay and liked that the house was close to the center of town.
The house is pretty inside but definitely take advantage of the outdoor spaces. The property is beautiful!

Cape Cod Vacation
We had a great week in Cape Cod and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Rueben Young House. The accommodations were very comfortable, well appointed and had great outdoor areas. Jean was a great host and very responsive to anything we needed. It was great to have access to beach chairs, beach umbrellas and most anything else needed for our stay. The outdoor shower was an added bonus. The location was perfect for our week stay with easy access everything. I would highly recommend this property and location for a vacation in Cape Cod.

Amazing stay on the Cape
We had an amazing stay to end the summer. The house was beautiful, well appointed and had everything we needed. Jean really put all the little touches into the house to make it so inviting for guests. The rooms were spacious and the outdoor space was very comfortable, including the outdoor shower which was a real highlight! Jean was so responsive both before and during our stay. Jean could not have been more wonderful! She is so warm, accommodating and helpful. She offered to bring our kids beach toys without our even asking. She even went on a mission to try to buy our kids boogie boards!! We will be back ASAP!

Very cute home in a great location
We had a great time at Jean's place! Everything was very easy, from check in to check out. Jean was a responsive host and very accommodating. The house is fully stocked with anything you could need. We visited in the summer, so the AC and outdoor shower were a plus. The property is close to all of the shops and restaurants in Chatham, and a quick drive to all of the places we wanted to see as a first time visitor to the Cape. Thanks for a great stay!

Exceptional experience
We had a great experience at the “1820 Young” home. Jean and Randy were great hosts and answered all my questions before and during our stay. They were so responsive. We had a situation with the air conditioner and it was rectified very quickly. The house is so charming. It is very evident that the hosts took much care in the restoration and design and furnishings in the home. All materials and appliances were top notch. It was a great spot for a Chatham vacation and we will always have great memories of our experience. Thank you Jean and Randy!

Modern Cape Cod Retreat
We had a wonderful time staying in Cape Cod! The first floor of the home is beautifully updated with a designer touch. The home has plenty of places to relax in. We enjoyed spending time in the outdoor area during the evenings and preparing breakfast in the spacious kitchen. We would return again!

We loved the house! It was a beautiful May weekend...so great for reconnecting...loved the deck and fire pit, cooked breakfast together and enjoyed movies at night...would definitely stay here again. We all loved the showers with wall jets!

Great Home and a Great Stay
We had a wonderful vacation in Chatham staying at this charming, quaint home. The owner was extremely kind, accommodating, and thoughtful, which made our stay even nicer. The home was nicely decorated and very clean, which is a must for my wife and I. It was in a great location, close to Main Street, and the fire pit was a fun addition that kept us warm outside while we roasted marshmallows. It was a great getaway and we can't wait to come back!
