About this cabin rental
Tranquility at the Lake is a wonderful 3 bedroom 3 bath log home, brand new hot tub vews of the water and mountains. Located inside the main gate of Riverbend at Lake Lure, you will leave the world behind, travel well maintained gravel roads wind around the lake to your home away from home. With only a few steps to the main level, this home offers almost level entry. Enjoy your first cup of coffee from the large wrap around porch as you listen to the sounds of nature and plan your days activities. The great room, with rock fireplace and gas logs vaulted ceilings and open to the dining area is the perfect place to sit back and relax while dinner is cooking. Featuring 3 stories, this log home has a master bedroom ensuite with dual vanities and stand up shower on the main floor. Also on the main living area is the kitchen and dining area with seating for 6 the kitchen has stainless appliances, drip coffee pot, granite countertops.
The upper level has a large loft open to the great room and fireplace with 2 twin beds, a large bedroom with queen size bed and shared bath with shower and tub. Going downstairs to the lower level you find a comfy sitting area, TV and pool table just waiting for the next game to begin. Around the corner is the bedroom with a queen bed and doors to the lower deck. Another full bathroom with shower and tub complete the inside lower level. Just outside on the lower deck, brand new hot tub relax and unwind.
For the more active guests, there are two (2) private lakes (Big Mirror Lake & Little Mirror Lake), that allow for canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats (no motorized boats except electric), private access to the Broad River, picnic areas, gazebos, pavilions, hiking trails, beach area, swimming, fishing, and BBQ grills for your enjoyment. There's an “Old Swimming Hole” along the river and a lovely Nature Walk where you can picnic and enjoy the community waterfall.
"Riverbend at Lake Lure", is a private gated community. During your stay you will have access to enjoy all the amenities of Riverbend at Lake Lure: Mirror Lake, the covered picnic site is complete with picnic tables, rocking chairs, stone fireplaces, restrooms and spectacular views, and beach area, the Broad River Old Swimming Hole, walking trails, and seating by the waterfall and along the Broad River. The fishing is excellent and there is a bait shop right across the street a valid NC State Fishing license is required. Deer and wild turkey are sited regularly. Western North Carolina offers a number of entertainment and activity options as well as some of the most beautiful views you will ever see.

First, be aware the North Carolina Vacation Rental Act provides you with certain rights and protections. Second, we would like to make you aware of a few local regulations designed to promote a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY LIMITS: The maximum overnight occupancy limit for this home is 8 people. You must provide us with the number of people and vehicles in your group. Violation of occupancy rules are grounds for immediate eviction with no refund, and fees will be charged to your credit card to cover any damages.
DESIGNATED PARKING: Vehicles must be parked only in designated areas on the vacation rental property. Parking in the roadway blocking the flow of traffic and parking on neighbor's property without permission are prohibited. There is parking for a maximum of 2 vehicles at this property, no exceptions. Absolutely NO boats, trailers, campers, RV's, large passenger vans, ATV or off-road vehicles of ANY kind regardless if they are street legal, or any other oversized vehicles of ANY kind. Overflow parking is available on a first come first serve basis beside main gate.
ACCESS: This home is located inside a gated community with restricted access. If you have any questions, please let us know. Finding this home at night may be difficult and cell phone service is not reliable.
TRASH DISPOSAL: Because of BEARS we ask that all trash be removed at the end of your stay. Riverbend at Lake Lure does not offer daily trash service. Guest is responsible for taking trash to community dumpster. Dumpster is located beside the main gate for Riverbend.
MINIMUM AGE: You must be at least 25 years of age to reserve a rental property. You must sign a rental agreement and be a guest at the property during the entire term of the stay. You must present a valid government ID within 72 hours of reservation.
NO HOUSE PARTIES: We do not accept reservations from sororities, fraternities, spring-break parties, bachelor / bachelorette / wedding parties, or any similar groups unless approved at time of reservation. Mr. Lake Lure Vacation Rentals works closely with local law enforcement to patrol our rental homes. We have a ZERO tolerance policy for noise of any kind.
FIRE PROTECTION FOR YOUR SAFETY: This home is equipped with working fire extinguishers and a posted evacuation plan. Removing any of these from their designated location is prohibited. Avoid storing items not to block hallways, doorways, steps, entrances, and exits. When an area burning ban is in effect, bonfires are prohibited. Contact your rental home's property manager for information on any burning bans. Small outdoor fires are permitted in the fire pit ONLY.
LAKE ACTIVITIES: Do not swim farther than 50 feet from shore unless accompanied by an observer in a boat. A North Carolina fishing license is required, and all state fishing regulations apply.
TRESPASSING: Trespassing or venturing onto a neighboring property without the owner's permission is prohibited.
NO SMOKING: Smoking, Vaping and Electronic cigarettes are prohibited in all our vacation rental homes. You will be assessed an additional cleaning fee if it is discovered you have been smoking and/or vaping in the home of $500. We ask that all smokers stay a minimum of 10 ft from any open window or door, do not stand near open doors or windows allowing smoke to enter the home while smoking on property. Please make sure butts and ashes are not left behind. Discard the butts and ashes in the outside garbage. Do not throw butts on the ground (including the fire pit) or bring them into the home. If there is any tobacco smell in the home after your departure, there will be a minimum $500 charge. Oil lamps and incense are not permitted due to the long-lasting odor. If these policies are violated, there will be a charge for excessive cleaning.
NOISE: Unreasonably loud noise is prohibited throughout the Town of Lake Lure. Please observe quiet hours after 10 p.m. and be aware that sound carries very far in our quiet little community.
UNRULY BEHAVIOR: Behavior deemed disorderly and causing a disturbance to the public is prohibited. These regulations will be strictly enforced.
PETS/ANIMALS: PETS/ANIMALS are NOT ALLOWED in this home. If you are found to be in violation of this rule you will be required to vacate the property and forfeit the remainder of your stay. You will also be assessed a fine of $500 for the violation. No refunds will be given!
Any non-reported dogs will most certainly be discovered on the Homeowners exterior security cameras and the penalties in the Rental Agreement will be strictly enforced. This includes a $500 fine and you will be asked to vacate the home immediately, regardless of the scheduled duration of your stay and forfeit all rents.
INTERNET/ SATELLITE / TV/ CELL SERVICE: Because of our mountainous terrain, heavy foliage, and frequent rain, satellite internet can sometimes be undependable, and certainly not fast. But most people find our internet sufficient for Netflix with a pinch of patience, and email for work. Do not depend on good enough service for video conference meetings for school or work. Most of our homes are not hard wired for internet and depend on satellite service. Homes advertised with internet or satellite TV may experience disruption of service due to foliage or weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed. Cellular service is also not reliable in our area.
BOOKING WEBSITES: You will be required to sign a vacation rental agreement before your reservation is secured. Your total amount listed on the Mr. Lake Lure® Vacation Rental Agreement may be different than the amount paid to the 3rd party website used for booking. All third-party websites charge service fees to guests for using their services. We have no control over those fees and do not collect them.
RENTAL AGREEMENT AND TOTAL BALANCE: You will be required to sign a vacation rental agreement before your reservation is secured. Failure to sign rental agreement with-in 72 hours of booking, will result in cancellation of reservation and forfeiture of deposit. Any monies received by Mr. Lake Lure Vacation Rentals for occupancy of vacation property indicated the acceptance of the terms of our vacation rental agreement in full. (including, but not limited to): bed linens and bath towels (2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths per Tenant, 2 hand towels per bathroom sink), dishwasher detergent (2 loads) and dishwashing soap, sponge, laundry detergent (2 loads), hand soap, (1 set per bathroom sink, including hotel size: 1 bar of soap, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner and 1 lotion), paper towels (1 roll), toilet paper (2 rolls per bathroom), and garbage bags (2 kitchen bags, plus 2 black bags). If you don't feel this will be adequate for your stay, you will want to stop and pick up more on your way. All properties provide fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, including coffee makers as well as some cooking utensils. Locked pantries and closets are reserved for the use of the Property Owner and are not accessible to Tenant. Rearranging furniture or removing any items from the Property is prohibited. Condiments and cooking essentials are not provided.

ADDITIONAL FEES: Booking on Airbnb, all additional fees (Processing fee, Damage Waiver, Resort fees, etc.) are combined with the housekeeping fee. This causes the housekeeping fee to appear much higher than it is. Feel free to contact us for a breakdown of those fees.

*** Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting January 1st, through the first quarter (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. No personal watercraft will be allowed on the lake during this time. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. For more information about the annual lake drawdown, please contact the Town of Lake Lure.

• No loud music or excessive noise after 10 pm.
• Fireworks are never allowed in Riverbend.
• Do not lift gate. It will break gate and result in a fine. Homeowner is responsible for admitting guests after gate hours. Please contact homeowner for after hour entry at any time.
• Entrance and exit gates admit only one car per entry. No tailgating. It will break gate system.
• Please display visitor pass at all times while in Riverbend. Guest pass will be provided to guests by either the owner or the Gate Staff at the main entrance gate (Rainbow Circle).
• The speed limit in Riverbend is 15 MPH or less AT ALL TIMES. We share our roads with hikers, homeowners walking their dogs and wildlife. The speed limit will be strictly enforced.
• Dogs MUST be leashed at all times. Guests must pick up behind their pets. Dogs are NOT allowed at the Beach at any time. Homeowners will be fined if guests have a dog on the beach. Dogs are welcome at Swimming Hole, river, and Riverwalk. Guests shall not leave their dogs unattended and must curtail excessive barking.
• No vehicles may park on any roads in Riverbend including the road over the dam which is between Mirror Lake and the Riverwalk. Parking is available next to the post office box building near the main gate or at the parking area above Riverwalk or the gravel area next to beach.
• Driving on the beach/ sand is strictly prohibited.
• No kayaks/canoes may be left overnight at the beach. Kayak slots are by assignment only.
• Open fires in Riverbend are prohibited. Use of fire pits with covers is allowed if owner permits.
• Guests shall not litter in Riverbend but shall dispose of trash in receptacles provided by Riverbend or use "pack it in and pack it out" rules.
• Bagged household trash may be disposed of at the compactor at the front gate. (Rainbow Circle).

We enjoyed our stay at this residence. It’s close to all the nearby activities. We enjoyed seeing wildlife and swimming in the lake after walking the nature trails.

What a fabulous getaway and views of the lake. My only advice would be to bring some floats or something for the lake to save money as opposed to buying them at Ingles. Can't wait to come again. This was our first time staying in Riverside.

My family and I stayed in the cabin for a much needed Christmas getaway. Check in was very easy. The scenery was beautiful. The cabin was clean and peaceful with enough space for our group of 6 so we were not on top of each other. However, we did find the queen bed in the loft was a little hard. Other than that our stay was very enjoyable.

We enjoyed the well-appointed cabin with the amazing scenery. Peaceful location right on a spur of Lake Lure. The property has very strict rules as to tenancy and visitors.

The property was very clean, the office stayed in contact with us, and they were easy to get in contact with. The issues we had was the location, traveling at night it is very hard to find the property and once you enter through the front gate you will be driving on a gravel road that is not easy to drive on going up a hill, and we even passed the house not being able to see the house number because it was sitting so low in the ground. Overall very beautiful place, no maintenance issues.

Mirror Lake cabin in Lake Lure area
Nice cabin on Mirror lake (not Lake Lure) for a friends' getaway. DOES NOT have a working hot tub. (Management erroneously confirmed there was but upon arrival it is dry and not operational.) Also, if you plan to do any cooking, the kitchen has very few cooking items, plates, bowls and utensils. We had only 2 large forks and 3 dessert forks for us to use; so obviously plan to do dishes frequently. The management leaves 2 pods of dishwasher detergent for a whole week, which seems odd and only 2 dish towels for drying. A new sponge is there for washing dishes. In the many places we have rented, the supplies are much much better and the kitchens well equipped. The coffee maker is a basic drip machine and the burner does not turn off automatically so be aware of that and do not leave without turning it off. Sleeping arrangements are okay; blankets and pillows could be changed out. Washing machine and dryer are the small stackable type. Do NOT plan on walking down to the lake, somewhat treacherous and not well maintained, Also, brushing up against or walking closely by any plants on the way down unfortunately bestows chiggers to contend with. Satellite TV and internet is VERY spotty. Do not plan to work or have reliable internet. Cell service is often spotty as well. Cabin has lots of games and pool table to use.

Just what we needed
We came to Lake Lure in order to have a base for checking out the surrounding areas. We were not disappointed. Although the house is a little hard to get to (the roads are twisty and turning and we couldn’t take a left-hand turn into the driveway with our truck), it was located in a nice spot. We enjoyed having long lingering talks on the deck, making wonderful meals in the kitchen, watching movies, and laughing. I will say that there should be some information in the house on how to use the remote controls. I could find nothing and I even called the real estate agent, but they were not much help with that. Mr. Lake Lure however was very helpful with everything else. I would recommend this house for sure!

The "cheering up" retreat
Home was lovely, and bedrooms and beds were terrific. Porch is roomy and comfortable. Had a few problems with the toaster and with DISH TV, but otherwise an enjoyable stay. Thanks!

Lovely retreat
Such a restful and rejuvenating property! With bedrooms on all 3 floors everyone had their space. For those traveling with small children, know the twin beds are in the open loft overlooking the living room.

Nice Vacation
The house was great! The location was wonderful and my family had a very nice vacation. My only complaints are that I had to wait outside with my two small children for an hour when we arrived because the house was not clean. We even were an hour past arrival time and still had to wait in the heat after a long drive. Also the kitchen smelled like cigarettes which I think was due to the guest before us, but it was very unpleasant.

Nice getaway for the family
The location was wonderful. The neighborhood has its own beachfront, waterhole and trails that were such a pleasant surprise! The house was was clean and had its charm. Hot tub and the pool table were great to have. The only thing I would forewarn future renters is the neighborhood streets are not paved and can be difficult if you don’t have 4 wheel drive. Also the driveway is very narrow getting in and out. But all in all my family had a wonderful time!

No hot tub
When we arrived we noticed the hot tub was out of order. I called to find out why and they gave me an apology and ask I'd anyone called me to let me know it wasnt working and I told them no, they said someone should have and agree with that, so why not.? I told them when I searched for a place my requirements were a HOT TUB, a pool table and a lake. I ask if they had anything else available and they said no because of the holiday. I called a second time to complain and only got another apology. I started to grill out Saturday afternoon and the tank on the grill was empty so I called again and they said they would bring one out in about 20 mins. One hour later no one had shown up so I called back and they said they would find out what was going on and then about 30 mins later someone arrived. I was trying to find out of they was something they would do for us since the hot tub didn't work and I was paying for that amenity and all I got was another apology. I won't be staying with this rental company again. The pool table also wasnt level but I didn't complain about that!

Beautiful place
Beautiful cabin and setting. We had deer and ducks everywhere.Neither the gas logs nor the hot tub worked. I did call and let them know, however I did not call the maintenance number, so that’s on me. Driveway is a tight one for a full size truck.

Simply Amazing
My husband and I decided to take a last minute vacation with the kids before Christmas. The booking process through VRBO made it so simple to choose the perfect cabin for us, and Tranquility on The Lake was it! We checked in after hours, the staff at MLLR were more than helpful with the whole process. The cabin was simply beautiful, as well as the view (stunning)! We left the cabin 3 times our whole stay. Lake Lure and Chimney Rock are the cutest little towns with the cutest shops. We didn't do much shopping or touring the area because we just wanted to relax. With the hot tub, pool table, scenery and EVERYTHING you need to cook... there was NO reason for us to do anything else than relax! We will be back!!

The property was listed as Tranquility at the Lake. And we were there from the 13th to the 18th. We had a great week. The house was nice. 10 minutes to lake lure.

Lake Lure Experience
Scenery is breathtaking. Cabin was beautiful. Had issues with fireplace not working, gas grill was out of gas. And the light bulbs blown down stairs over the pool table. The driveway is very tricky to maneuver the first time entering. Especially if you arrive after dark. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. Would Definitely consider staying there again. Just know what to check on immediately next time.

The only downside to this property is that it’s on a much smaller lake adjacent to Lake Lure, not on Lake Lure itself.

Stay at Tranquility on the Lake
The name says it all! It was such a peaceful and tranquil view and I so enjoyed having my morning coffee on the deck overlooking the lake each morning. The house was beautiful and provided plenty of room and amenities for our party of 6. Our teenagers enjoyed the lake and "swimming hole" in the development as well. Great location and the staff at Mr. Lake Lure Vacation Rentals were wonderful to work with. We will definitely be back!

nice And quiet
The check in process was not smooth due to the holiday. The code for the key box was incorrect and it took us an hour to get someone to give us the correct code. Grill is unusable, pool stick was broken and put back on rack for us to find. Did enjoy the deck and cabin
