About this cabin rental
This smoke-free and pet-free log cabin at 4000 feet elevation provides privacy and beautiful views from every room, but is also minutes to entertainment, restaurants, and shopping. 3 bedrooms plus a loft offer a king-size bed , 2 queen size beds and a twin bunkbed. Amenities include hot tub in the master bath, unlimited free wireless internet access with unlimited streaming capability, full kitchen with microwave and coffeemaker and dishwasher, washer and dryer, 2 outdoor decks( one screened in with picnic area , one open with gas firepit), and 2 stone indoor gas fireplaces with remote controls. This cabin sits on 5 acres. Enjoy a leisurely time listening to the waterfall in the distance as you sit around the firepit and watch a magnificent mountain sunset.
It is a steep, winding 1.5 mile paved road from the main road in Maggie Valley (Soco Road, or Highway 19) to Woodpecker Rd. Woodpecker is a short (about 150 yards or so) gravel road that leads to our cabin, and one other home. The cabin’s driveway is about 100 yards down Woodpecker Rd. (which we’ll say is semi-steep), with a 180 degree switchback from Woodpecker that cannot be made with a single turn. For safety concerns and to prevent damage to the gravel road and driveway, we would ask that you do not bring trailers of any kind. There is just not enough room to safely maneuver a trailer on our property. The driveway is also very narrow for a short section just after the switchback (and boarders the mountain’s edge). Therefore, it’s recommended that one drives past the driveway entrance and then backs up the driveway to the cabin (as opposed to attempting a multi-point turn in), For exiting, it’s also recommended to drive down the driveway onto Woodpecker, then back all the way up Woodpecker to Upper Summit Rd. (the paved road). For sedan-size cars, a 3-point turn can also be done to exit the driveway onto Woodpecker Road. If steep winding roads, backing up, or navigating a narrow section of driveway that borders the mountain’s edge would bother you, then this cabin would not be for you! Also, be advised that Upper Summit Rd becomes impassible with ice and/or snow, so attempting to access the cabin during these conditions is not possible even with 4 wheel drive. Refunds will be given up to midnight the day before stay in case of inclement weather that creates dangerous conditions on the mountain.
Sorry, non-smoking renters/guests only and no pets allowed. There is no inside or outside smoking permitted.
This rustic cabin is decorated with the local farm culture history of the NC mountain area in mind. No Southwestern decor style here! If you love the rustic farmhouse look, you will love the farm theme of this cabin. See the unique old farm equipment displayed and rustic quilts that take you back to another era, but also enjoy all the modern conveniences in this newly constructed cabin.
Two and 1/2 levels (ground level, downstairs, and loft), connected via a spiral staircase include three bedrooms, two and 1/2 baths. King bed in master suite on ground level - Queen bed in loft - Queen bed in downstairs bedroom #1 - Bunk beds in downstairs bedroom #2. Sleeps 8 in total.
The loft has a privacy screen changing area and an armoire for your clothing storage.
Two person whirlpool tub, and large walk-in shower in master bath.
Two ventless gas fireplaces (main level and downstairs dens)
Multi-function game tables located both downstairs (Foosball, air hockey, miniature pool & table tennis) and in loft (bumper pool, poker/card table, or solid surface board game table).
Plenty of old-fashioned table games to play as a family, but you also will have 4 TVs with streaming Netflix and other streaming channels available, as well as unlimited internet access if you want to stay connected to the outside world. There is even a telescope in the loft (with instructions) if you want to gaze at the moon up close through the huge picture windows in the loft.
The cabin is located minutes from the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds, the Wheels Through Time museum, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Other nearby attractions include Cataloochee Valley, and historic downtown Waynesville. In winter, the Cataloochee Ski Area and Tube World offer skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing to the winter sports enthusiast. The Cherokee Casino is located about 20 minutes away.
Neaby shopping includes several chain grocery stores, local gift shops, and ice cream shops, with restaurants featuring fine and casual dining options.
Please note that we operate this rental as a vacation rental under the NC Vacation Rental Act and therefore we do not accept reservations that exceed 89 nights.

Great area and friendly people. House was just as listed and a central location to visit the Smoky Mtn National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway.

This was the perfect mountain getaway rental for our family of 7! Everyone had their own comfortable rooms, and there was plenty of gathering space for us to hang out. The views were absolutely insane, and had us taking picture after picture, every time the sky would change (which was often!) The location was convenient to the cute little Maggie Valley shops and restaurants, and was about 30min -hr away from our hikes in the park. Driving up the mountain to the house was something we got used to fairly quickly, but you do have to go slow and put your car in low gear. Thank you for the very specific directions! They helped us navigate perfectly. Overall, this was a fantastic stay in a clean, beautiful, and family-friendly home.

My family and I absolutely loved the cabin and the location. It was spacious and clean and the views were gorgeous. It was very peaceful and secluded and perfect for unwinding after long days of hiking. Betsy was wonderful at communicating when I had a couple of questions. I would go back again, as well as recommend this property to others!

Certainly! Here's a rewritten version:
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. It was impeccably cleaned and maintained, creating a wonderfully cozy atmosphere that made us stay longer than we originally intended. Despite the challenging driveway, following the host's directions ensured we had no issues. Waynesville, just a few minutes away, charmed us with its warm and welcoming people. We would definitely return—now we understand why it's so highly rated!

We have been to the Smoky Mountains many times, and this property has now become our favorite place to stay. My husband and I stayed here with our 15 year old twins. The owner provided excellent communication. Be sure to read the information she provides to you when you book the property. This will make your stay so much easier. Most of your questions will be answered in that information. The drive up is very doable, and this opinion comes from a Texan family. Just pay attention to what you are doing. The view is stunning, and I feel like that is an understatement. The property is secluded and quiet, which is what we prefer. We enjoy hiking and spending time as a family. This place is perfect for that. You can make a day trip to the more crowded places if you wish. The house was clean and things were labeled. The kitchen had everything we needed. There is plenty of room to spread out or to be together. The kids liked the games, bumper pool, and foosball table. We liked the screened-in porch and the outdoor areas. We would definitely stay again if given the opportunity.

The view at this property was even better than expected. We loved sitting outside watching sunsets or a storm roll in over the mountains. The beds were comfortable. The listing was accurate in sharing the steepnrss of the road and getting in the driveway. After the second trip up, we figured out how to navigate it.
Drawbacks to the property that result in the 4 versus 5 rating were the kitchen was not stocked well for cooking for a larger group of 7 adults and the trash has to be taken to town by the renter for drop-off because there is no trash pick-up at the house. The trach drop off requirement is not noted in the listing and it is a 16 mile round trip to drop off. The trash drop-off is by the Publix grocery store so was part of our grocery run.
We would stay at the property again but will bring our own crock pot. 😉

Property is nestled on the side of the mountain with an amazing view. Very close to our ski resort. Property is clean and had everything we needed. We would stay here again. Great communication from property manager.

Thanksgiving holiday family get together from Florida and From Pittsburgh. Maggy Valley was the middle ground. This grandma was happy granddame! No complaints, everything was perfect! Cabin and view were beyond expectations.!

This cabin is absolutely beautiful! The views are breathtaking! We had the best time and will definitely book this one again! Maggie Valley is a neat little mountain town!

The cabin it self is really nice with all the necessary amenities needed for a confortable stay! Like others mention the actual drive up the road to the cabin is disable me too bad just the actual entrance to the driveway is the tricky part but doable. The only thing that I can think of is that the cabin needs a little more detailed cleaning in some corners there were some dead bugs and also the shower, besides that everything was good and the location is perfect as a home base. Thank you for such a nice experience for my family will definitely consider coming back!

If you love great views and lots of privacy in the mountains, this is the place to book. This place has two and a half levels and plenty of space. Very clean. Also, if you have extra people staying with you, it has a tankless hot water heater, which I thought was a bonus. The cabin was easy to book, and the Vanover's(owners) were easy to communicate with. Pay attention to what they say in the access of the cabin. It is best to have a 4WD or AWD. Easy to get in. Different story getting out. We had a rear 2WD and managed to get out. Not sure about a front 2WD. Overall, the entire experience was great. We would definitely book this cabin again. Wonderful place and plenty to do. Definitely 5 stars.

Just as described. We really enjoyed the stay. Owners are very responsive if needed. Will be back.

A gorgeous mountain home with magnificent views, plenty of space and serene surroundings. It is well stocked w/kitchenware and bed/bath linens. Main area has minimal furniture and no family-type dining table but attached deck has large picnic table. Lower level has more seating. The mountain road drive up from Soco is very steep and winding, but drivable. We thoroughly enjoyed our five week summer vacation in this beautiful home!

Great place! Entire family enjoyed the various comforts of the rental.

Overall great place to stay! It's one of the more elevated ones I've stayed at in the mountains but it made for a great view. Had plenty of room for 6 of us and plenty of things to do at the cabin for entertainment. The property manager was great, she made sure to let us know of anything we might need to know going on in the area and was easy to contact. I rate this experience a 4 out of 5 just because we didn't have enough toilet paper and trash bags supplied and the propane ran out after about 30 minutes of use for the gas firepit. Just small things but might want to bring extra.
4.8
Cabin and property were excellent. Parking can be challenging for some, not really biker friendly due to inclines. One of my favorites.
4.8
This property looks great in pictures but better in person! The back porch view alone is totally worth it. This gorgeous home is tucked away atop a mountain with better than amazing views. It’s quiet and dark at night, which was a great respite from our busy city life. Super clean and tons of space. Sleeps at least 7 plus room for a few kids on the big couch downstairs! Plenty of grocery stores within 10min drive. Lots of craft breweries nearby. Host was very accommodating! 10/10 would stay again.

The cabin was fantastic! It was clean, had amazing views, all the rooms were nice and cozy, fireplaces, porches, kitchen, fire pit, tub. The owners were easy to communicate with. Everything was exactly as expected, worked great. Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking trails, a grocery store and restaurants, though we brought all our own food and made meals every day.

Betsy was a great host and answered all the questions we had very quickly. The property is in a great location not far from Asheville (about a 35 minute drive) and very close to some really great hikes as well. The sunsets were amazing and made for a great ending to the days.

Decided to take a spur of the moment trip to the mountains and found this property available. Betsy was very accommodating and we were able to book it and arrive in less than 24 hours. I could see the road up to the cabin being intimidating to some but we were able to navigate it in a minivan. Two deer greeted us as we pulled in to the property. The cabin was really cool and spacious but cozy. My kids loved the loft area and spiral staircase. Downstairs den was great for movies and had plenty of games to play. The double deck had awesome views and we enjoyed listening to the nearby waterfall and the lower deck firepit. Beds were comfy and the cabin had all necessary amenities for the stay. Enjoyed every minute of our trip and definitely will keep it in mind for our next trip.
4.8
It's a nice place to stay very up in the mountains. Beautiful view from the hilltop. The road to the cabin has some steep hill and curves climbing up to get cabin drive. We had to delay our stay for a few days due to Icey roads on the roads. Once we were there it was nice went to see waterfalls and went shoping with some other site seeing.
4.8
A fantastic mountain cabin with a a million dollar view. Family had a blast and really enjoyed Maggie Valley and Waynesville.
4.8
The property was GORGEOUS and secluded. It was perfect for a little getaway. The location of the town was just what I was wanting. It was about 30-45 mins to Asheville. We didn’t want to stay in a big town like Asheville so Maggie Valley was just perfect for us. The road getting to the cabin is a little difficult but nothing that a SUV or truck couldn’t handle. The cabin was even more beautiful than the pictures that are posted. Don’t underestimate this cabin by ANY MEANS. We LOVED the jacuzzi bathtub with the large windows looking over the mountains. My husband and I really enjoyed staying here for our 15th anniversary. We plan on bringing the kids back soon😊 The Hostesses was very kind with the questions I asked and reponded right away. She had our cabin access code sent to me without me even having to ask (which is really nice) Little things like that mean a lot to me. I don’t like having to worry about that kind stuff when I’m heading to the location.

Very close to Cherokee and other NC attractions, would rent again!

Its a beautiful view and place. Disappointed in the cleaning. Looked up at the fan in MB was covered in dust. Cabinet above stove was greasy and dusty. Under bed in MB was bad. It’s too bad, because the house is beautiful.
4.8
Very nice property! We are not used to mountain driving so it took us a little by surprise the climb we had to get their. Had a great time!
4.8
The house was perfect for us! Lots of private spaces on different floors. Beautiful views!

I decided to take my parents to Maggie Valley for a vacation. I talked to my sisters, and we decided to do a family vacation for the everyone. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was around 4000' elevation, the roads were narrow, but I had no problem with my 2500HD Ram mega cab pickup navigating to it. The house was nice, and it was very quiet. There was one home down from this house and we saw someone leaving there one time. The rooms were nice, and my parents stayed on the main level with the kitchen, living room, bedroom and master bath. If looking a good home with some views, quiet location away from everyone this is the place. The only thing I seen that needed attention is the cooking utensils needs updating. The plastic spatulas wasn't user friendly trying to cook with. Overall this is a great home to vacation at! All of my family enjoyed the house and location.
4.8
What's a great place for our family getaway. The driving notes were spot on, but no problem for our minivan in low gear. After the first couple of trips up and down got easier. The cabin was clean, comfortable, had everything we needed plus wonderful views.

Clean cabin with lots of space to spread out and enjoy!

We enjoyed our stay here…home was beautiful and clean…and the view!!! Amazing!!! The sunsets were breathtaking! We also appreciated the privacy and quiet !
4.8
We absolutely loved this cabin! There were 5 adults (myself, husband, daughter, and 2 nephews). Plenty of room for all of us. The view from the deck was stunning. We cooked breakfast each morning and had all the cookware we needed. Beds were comfortable. It was everything we needed it to be and more. The drive up the mountain is very steep but we had no issues. We would definitely stay again if we vacation that way in the future!
4.8
The cabin was perfect! It was exactly what we were looking for and would love to stay again!

Amazing View
The cabin is very cute with an amazing view. The hostess is nice. I communicated with her with no trouble. We cooked and burned the steak a little, which triggered the fire alarm. She called to check on us but was very polite. We had a great stay.

Vacation like the old days
My sister and I took our elderly parents on a vacation like we used to take when we were kids. We thought they’d love to see the mountains again. And this house was spectacular and the views were like nothing we’d seen before! We spent most of the time on the decks. The beds were comfortable, kitchen stocked well, and plenty of towels and everything we needed. I would highly recommend this house of you want to stay in a beautiful, well decorated, scenic home. We loved it!

Great location. Camera overkill
This cabin had a great location in Maggie Valley. It was easy enough to get to in the summer. The listing was accurate when it comes to driving and parking. It is high up, but that is what helps the beautiful view. There were amenities that this location did not offer. I didn't realize how much we would miss them (grill, outdoor wood firepit, hot tub).
It was a bit frustrating that toilet paper, paper towels, etc were not provided. This info is listed on the info sheet when you book, but after a very long drive with three children, the last thing I wanted to do was go to the store.
There are also 5 cameras, some which have views of the indoors. While this is disclosed, it is still unsettling. I have three little boys who like to run around in their underwear and it weirds me out that someone can watch them do so.
4.8
Extraordinary
Extraordinary views, lovely high wooden rafters, quaint curving stairwell, astonishing immersion in nature, felt like we were in a treehouse! Don't let the steep roads and tricky access stop you from this lovely cabin in the mountains. Keep small children safely inside where there are many options to entertain and views to enjoy! Breakfast outside in the patio overlooking the mountains was the best.
