This Popham Beach cottage was in many ways, the quintessential Maine beach house. With its sweeping views, private path to the sand & surf, wraparound porch and lovely bead-board interiors, it felt like a house out of the late 19th or early 20th centuries. However, the fully updated kitchen and gorgeous primary bedroom with attached bathroom made it comfortably modern as well. Our host was fabulous and quick to respond and my granddaughters and I had a perfectly picture-book time in the cottage. We all look forward to our next visit. I would highly recommend this property for small families who want to experience Maine by the shore. 100% worth every penny.

We loved the porch and spent a lot of our time there. Unobstructed ocean view and easy walk over the dunes. You can walk the sand Beach for a couple of miles with no interruption. Great to be able to walk to Spinney's for lunch, dinner or ice cream, the Library and even Fort Popham if you make it part of your exercise routine. Drive up to the Fort Baldwin overlook site where the earliest ship made in America was built in the early 1600s. View of Fort Popham from there was great. Really enjoyed the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath including the boat tour. Highly recommend.

My recent stay at this charming property was a wonderful experience overall! The location is fantastic, offering perfect tranquility and convenience. Nestled in a peaceful area, it was a joy to unwind and relax, yet close enough to local attractions and amenities to easily explore. One of the highlights of this property is the beautiful, large deck. Spending mornings sipping coffee and evenings enjoying the sunset was an absolute delight. I had the privilege of being the first renter of the season, which came with a small hiccup. We experienced some hot water issues and water pressure challenges initially. However, I must commend the owner for their prompt and efficient response. They addressed the problem quickly, ensuring we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The owner was helpful in pointing out some of the wonderful places in the area to explore and was very responsive to all communication. The beach is absolutely perfection. It is steps away from the house, so you can enjoy long walks throughout the day. I loved the ease of bringing our beach stuff from/to the house without a long walk or car commute.

Been coming to Popham for many years and have rented many properties. All have been great and we really enjoyed this year’s visit. House is exactly as listed. Owner is a long time homeowner and has made major additions to a historic property. Love rocking in the chairs on the balcony overlooking the beach and walking directly to the sand for long strolls for miles on the beach. Recommend, yes , definitely.

My family (parents, wife and two young children) and I had an amazing week at Popham at the Day’s property! The house was beautiful and the setting was unparalleled. I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a Maine beach getaway to consider staying here … we will be back for sure!
