Great spot for all your Maine coast adventures! Less that a 5 minute drive to Reid state park, 1/2 hr max to Bath/Brunswick, hour to Portland and Boothbay. View from the decks are beautiful, and in a few steps you are in the midst of quintessential Maine coast beauty.beauty

My husband and I recently stayed at this rustic retreat for a week. This home is in a great location, very close to the amazing Reid State Park (which the owner provided a pass for) and Five Islands Farm and Lobster Co. Georgetown is a quaint old fashioned town in mid coast Maine, leading to the relaxation we felt. No rush, no fuss. But, Bath is nearby, where everthing can be found. We ate at great restaurants and did some window shopping. We love the thrift shop on the Island!! This vacation, we were here for the views and the down time, which we found at this great rental. We loved sitting on the deck off the downstairs bedroom, which gave us a water view, just reading and relaxing.
Tony, our kind owner, was very easy to communicate with. Everything was provided for us, and it was a simple transition from the hustle of life into an easy week.
The rental is down a private road, very quiet and peaceful. The house is decorated with so many interesting pieces, it was fun just looking at everything!! Very homey and comfortable.
Thank you Tony for your kindness and accomodations! We will see you again! Pam and Craig

Sweet cabin in walking distance of glorious Reid state park.

We enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful week at Cottage by the Sea with our 2 dogs. The location is beautiful and quiet but close enough for day trips to Bath, Freeport, and Boothbay Harbor. The pass to Reid State Park was great; we enjoyed several hikes there. The bench overlooking the harbor was our favorite, spent several hours there watching the waves, boats, birds, seals, etc. Tony was a great host, and we would certainly book again!

This was exactly what we expected it to be. Private, rustic, and incredible views. Tony the host was so personable and accommodating to us. My husband said it was a trip of a lifetime. Can't wait to return.

It was a lovely place, but it could’ve been closer to other things like restaurants, etc.. I like the fact that I could walk my dog off the leash because of low cars.

The Cottage provided more than enough to guarantee a great stay. The kitchen was well equipped, including a lobster pot. The bathroom was clean, updated and easy to access. The living area had comfortable couches, chairs and lighting. We did not use the second floor which provided more beds, a desk nook and great water views. Outside provided a deck off of the first floor bedroom, a fire pit and a gas grill. An easy walk to the overlook was a bonus.

Tony was very helpful and a nice guy. View from the rocks is beautiful. Really no complaints other than mosquitoes, but that’s Maine.

Anthony is a lovely and kind owner and the new deck recently installed is beautiful. The views are spectacular and the cabin is private and quiet. The cabin’s rustic nature is part of the charm but it simply wasn’t clean enough for a rental. Renters are expected to clean the place; it is not professionally cleaned between guests. Post pandemic, this is just not acceptable, at least without prior notice to potential renters.

Beautiful views, quiet, and a peaceful place to relax and explore all the coast of Maine has to offer. No frills but exactly what we love about vacationing. Enjoyed the campfire onsite and local state park that was very close. Tony is very lucky to have such a great spot.

The cottage was cute and cozy. My husband and I enjoyed exploring the area. Access to groceries and restaurants is a long drive, but access to the coast, parks, and nature was perfect!

My stay at the Cottage By the Sea was a joyful experience. The cottage has a unique hand built charm all its own, and its furnishings, carefully hand-picked over time, all seem to have a story to tell. The place really welcomes you in and makes you feel at home. (I highly recommend watching the youtube video!)
The wooded surroundings are lovely ~ and the firepit is awesome! I spent ever so much time sitting out on the rocks overlooking Sheepscott Bay, marveling in the view and experiencing both calm and exhilaration in the surge of the waves.
Tony is a really fun person and quite a gracious host. Always warm and engaging, he was considerate and immediately responsive to any issues or needs that arose, and provided the extra thoughtful touch here & there to enhance the guest experience.
Altogether, my experience of this place has really stayed with me ~ I am so looking forward to my next stay here!

We loved staying in this cottage. It was so nice and comfortable. There was plenty of room. The views of the ocean were great. We loved the bench to sit and watch the boats. We liked the nearby town of Bath and did some fun boat rides in Boothbay Harbor. We would love to come back again. Tony was a great host. Thank you. You have a beautiful place !

Tony, we can't thank you enough for the wonderful week we spent in Georgetown. The cottage was perfect and is such a fabulous "base camp" for activities...or place to curl up and relax in its own right. We walked the beach, climbed the rocks, paddled Sewell Pond, went up Higgins "Mountain", walked out to the Squirrel Point Lighthouse, walked the trail to the Kennebec at Berry Woods Preserve, ate our fill of seafood, took a day trip to Boothbay Harbor, spent a day at the Maine Maritime Museum, Popham Beach/Fort, and even enjoyed watching the sun come out and light up the sky as Tropical Storm Elsa moved offshore. But, by far the highlight of the whole week was just sitting on that wonderful bench by the water watching the boats, birds, and seals.

After the horendous year we've all had, my week at Cottage By The Sea refreshed my body and soul. I had friends join me whom i hadn't seen in more than a year, and we enjoyed the rustic charm of the cottage and the ever-changing light, sound and motion of the sea just a few steps away. The cottage has everything you need and nothing you don't. The beautiful Reid State Park is a 5 minute drive and Tony even provides the season pass! We enjoyed lobster rolls -twice - at Five Islands harbor amd ice cream at Annabelle's. It was a wonderful week. I've already booked my return for next summer.

Anthony’s little cottage on his property is amazing - great views of the water! Cabin is spacious and has a pleasant rustic charm. Our family enjoyed the week we spent here tremendously!

We so enjoyed our stay at Tiny's rustic cabin. The cabin was clean, spacious, well stocked and has beautiful views of the ocean! The short walk to a wooden bench on the rocks offers a lovely spot for viewing and the expanse of rocky shoreline privides a wondetful place to climb and explore. Tony is super friendly, laid-back and helpful and lives next door.

The cottage had a wonderful "feel" to it... watching the leaves drop off the trees as I sat at the kitchen table was mesmerizing. I loved sitting on the bench by the ocean's edge.... and trips to Reid State Park were extraordinary... I purchased some freshly shucked oysters at the Georgetown Country Store and prepared some wonderful oyster stew :)
Tony was a gracious host and I look forward to my next visit...same time, next year!!!

So enjoyed staying at the little cottage. The view from the rocks, the proximity to Reid State Park, and the hiking trail across the road made for a perfect getaway to a beautiful natural area.

The cottage was roomy and clean. The kitchen was well equipped. The proximity to Reid State Park is a big plus, a great beach walking opportunity. Nice views from the bench over the rocky waterfront.

This was a nice cottage in an awesome location. The views were breathtaking and we spent most of our time sunning on the rocks by the coast. There is a house close by but you don't hear or see anyone so the location is very private. The beach and good fresh lobster is about 10 minutes away. Bring lots of bug spray for the swarming. aggressive mosquitoes and be prepared to do some dusting/cleaning before settling in. We hope to return next year. Thank you Tony!

Overall the property was ok. The surrounding area was very nice though and that's one thing that appealed to us.
Unfortunately the Wi Fi was not working. My husband tried to assist the owner in getting it to work for 2 days with no success. In the end, we requested the owner give us a partial refund, but he did not comply. We felt we paid the same price as the people who will be there in July or August, and all things will be up and running for them (we were the first for the summer). No Wi Fi meant, no music, movies, or internet searches for activities we wanted to pursue. Very disappointed that he did not even acknowledge our inconvenience.

We enjoyed the beautiful scenery surrounding the property. It was a short ride to Reid State Park, that had easy access to a long sandy beach. In order to access the second bedroom and deck it was necessary to climb very steep stairs,
therefore, I would not recommend this house to anyone who had mobility issues. The oven did not work and there was an odor of gas which necessitated turning off the gas supply.

We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint cottage. It's in a nicely wooded & private location, just a short walk to the waters edge. From the bench on the rocks you have a 180 degree view across the water, with a distant view of a light house across the bay (visible through binoculars). The cottage is well equipped, nicely decorated and has a very comfortable queen mattress in the main bedroom. There are steep stairs to the loft, which has a low ceiling height in parts, but provides extra room, a second queen bed and a nice outdoor balcony. Overall, this is a nice comfortable cottage in a very scenic location...ideal to experience a great Maine coast vacation!

This rental provided the perfect combination of everything! Perfect location, perfect accommodations, perfect views, perfect peace! This beautiful"Cottage by the Sea" has everything you could possibly need. The cottage is decorated as though a photo shoot is scheduled. With that said, it is sublimely comfortable and homey. The views from both the deck and the amazing perch on the rock rested bench are awesome! A short drive can bring you to Five Islands Lobster Company for the freshest treasures from the sea, or Grey Havens for fine restaurant fare. Breakfast in the cottage or simple but perfect choices from The Georgetown Market, youe choice. If the beach is your desire did I mention that passes to Reid State Park are provided by the owner.Whatever you decide you cannot go wrong with choosing this property! Say hello to the owner, he is an angel in disguise.

Possibly the best cottage I've found for my summer getaway. I find ocean front properties that offer so much privacy hard to find, but this one nails it. The cottage is sweet, well equipped, two very comfortable Q-size beds, a rustic Down East feel but civilized. Wildlife nearby, we saw deer and several appearances of a mink, as well as many colorful birds. The upper deck alone is worth the trip for the views. That bench atop the rocky shore, though, wow -- panoramic views, we could spend hours out there. A bonus to have the pass to Reid State Park, a gorgeous sandy beach with good wave that always feels uncrowded. We also enjoyed lobster (and clams, and haddock...)in the rough at Five Islands on several nights, where we watched a huge tuna catch being loaded off the pier. One splurge dinner at the Queen Ann victorian Grey Havens Inn. Nice bar and dining room with awesome views of islands close by, a fabulous long porch to sip a cocktail or even have a meal. But the cottage most of all was the best of the visit, hated to go anywhere else. The owner has a home close by and is extremely kind and helpful. I am planning on returning next year.

Just a perfect cottage in an amazing location. The rocky beach was breath taking. We visited the bench every morning to watch the sun rise on the bay. The owner hooked us up with a lobsterman who delivered fresh lobsters several days. How do you beat that? Tony is a gracious host. Reid state park is beautiful and so close to the cottage. There is so much to do you can't possibly do it all in one week so we're planning another trip next spring. We're anxiously waiting for our next relaxing week at the cottage by the sea.

Great rental located near Reid State Park. Our family of four (plus a dog) will
be back again next summer! Our girls, 7 and 9, loved climbing on the rocks,
while we sat on the bench, drinking coffee in the sun -- soaking up the ocean view! We saw a seal one morning and on another spotted a harbor porpoise.
We also watched lobster boats and sail boats. We spent most afternoons at Reid State Park, where we braved the waves and warmed ourselves on the sand. When the weather turned foggy, we ventured to Bath & Boothbay Harbor for lunch and shopping. At night, we enjoyed cooking seafood in the kitchen, including fresh caught lobster. After that, we toasted s'mores by the campfire. Our girls loved the upstairs loft, while we slept restfully in the newly renovated downstairs bedroom--on a new mattress, with the breeze coming through the windows, and to the sound of waves crashing on the rocks!

This was our first week in Maine, and we loved it. Reid State Park has a beautiful beach and fun little tidal pools for kids to play in. The cottage was fun for the kids, and they felt like the upstairs was their own little space. We enjoyed the fire pit outside, with smores every other night. The rocks on the coast were fun for the kids, and my wife and I enjoyed just sitting there and watching the lobster boats pull up their traps. We were lucky to watch fireworks across the bay the last night we were there. Overall it was a terrific stay. Thanks Tony!
