the location was excellent, closed to every where you need to see, it was in very cool neighborhood with the shops and restaurants.
The very small bathroom, and thin proof room, and how it was so difficult to change the tv channel, coz they put channel box inside the closet, very far from the tv, or probably we just dont know how to pair it with the tv, but overall it was ok

I found the staff very responsive and the facility wonderfully located.
I had stayed at a different property owned by Maverick Suites and was impressed which is why I booked this place on Newbury Street. Our unit, Unit #1 was clean. The bathroom was tiny which is okay BUT there was no shelf or any place to even rest our toothbrushes. MOST of all, the cabinets which hold the silverware and bowls [so we could have breakfast in our room] was so high up on the wall that I needed to move over a chair, stand on it in order to reach the bowls. The cookware [which I didn't need] was even higher as it was over the microwave. AND--the booklet with instructions to adjust the heat, use the TV, etc. was not in our room. [I know from my prior stay at another of their properties that these really handy books with instructions exist] I will say that the staff was very attentive. But whoever designed this room put no thought into it. I have no idea what the other rooms in this property is like. But unless there are changes made to Unit #1--request another room.

Great location. Amazing aircon and very easy check ins with code. Management very quick to respond
Could hear alot of what was going on in the surrounding flats and above us. Could have done with 1 extra towel each as a basic level. Quite dimly lit so hard to do makeup and no full length mirror.

The code they gave me to the unit didn't work and since I arrived at night, I was unable to reach anyone to help me. I had to find another place to stay the first night, which was very stressful. Even though I was given a new code the next day and I was refunded for the missed night, the experience the first night was so bad that I cannot recommend this place.

Location Location Location! Great location and room was clean.
The customer service👎🏿👎🏿. 2 days before my arrival I received an email from Booking.com that my credit card information needed to be updated. I updated it that evening. on the day of arrival the building codes to get in did not work. I called Maverick Suites (property managers) to find out my credit card info was not updated with them and I would have to call Booking.com. After a few minutes of back and forth with the customer service rep, he took payment over the phone directly. later that evening we had an issue with the cable. they said refer to the blue book on your room. there was no blue book. They said they would send someone the next morning as it was after hours. they never did. after adjusting the wiring ourselves we cld change the channels by pointing the remote at the cable box directly. the cable box is on the bottom shelf of the closet in the entryway of the suite, no where near the tv. lastly, we ordered linen service for Saturday and Sunday, they only came on Saturday. Great location, clean room, terrible customer service.

THE TV CHANNELS BOX INSIDE THE WARDROBE IS TERRIBLE AND MAKES IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE TV PROGRAMS FROM THE BED!! I HAD TO MOVE EVERY TIME FROM BED TO WARDROBE NEAR THE DOOR WHENEVER I WANTED TO CHANGE CHANNELS!!

Quintessential Brownstone next to charming comer market and many shops and restaurants! Perfect location that is an easy walk to Fenway, convention center and Public Garden/Boston Commons. Of course being a charming old building you are going to have sloping floors, limited space and a tiny bathroom, but that just adds to the charm and is to be expected.
Like I mentioned above, the bathroom is extremely small. Inconvenient location of TV control box (must get out of bed to change channels and power on/off).

It was very clean, and convenient to the places we visited on our anniversary mini-vacation
The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable, mainly because it was so close to the floor. The room also had a faint fishy smell.

I stayed here in May 2019 and returned this time so that is the best possible recommendation. The studio is quiet and comfortable and I love the Backbay location close to Commonwealth Avenue and the Boston Common. Newbury Street is really lovely.
The staff when I needed them were responsive helpful and pleasant.
My time in the studio was wonderful (this is easy when you are in love) and I really enjoyed Boston.
I was not happy to have the wrong entry code checking in. I managed to get Kimberley on landline provided but think possibly being unable to access room if I had arrived outside manned landline hours could have been seriously inconveniencing.
I had stayed in studio before and liked it but I think there was an extra stool for small glass table back then and the walls looked very bare without any pics or prints. What is difficult about hanging up some Newbury or Boston views? Just one even...
The most annoying thing is that you have slip around the corner of the room to change tv channels using remote. You cannot change channels while lying in bed. I know this is trivial. Placing the small tv box on a shelf beneath the tv would fix this.
The apartment is fine for one person and just about for two with maybe a paucity of seating.
I have to say I had a wonderful time there.

The location was great.
There was no soap provided. I had come from a long travel day and wanted to take a shower before bed and there was no soap in the room!. Initially I was told that there must’ve been an oversight and the maid forgot to put it in the room. Then I was told the next day that soap was on back order and I needed to go across the street and buy it for myself. If soap is on back order, then a hotel should provide it from somewhere else.
Also, the TV channels were not accessible. The remote didn’t work. I was told I had to go to the closet and turn it on manually and it still didn’t work. I wasn't able to use the TV the entire trip.
The bed was also really uncomfortable. I had to ask for extra blankets too because none were provided.

The unit has an excellent location, was very clean and has a great atmosphere.
The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. It has a large indentation about the diameter of a basketball. Apparently the inner wire frame / springs have been crushed. When you lay across it or sit on it it sinks at least 4-5 inches. I contacted the host and got a sorry for the inconvenience response and assurance that it had been inspected and was fine prior to our arrival. I guess suggesting that we caused the damage. They have not responded to any subsequent communication. We were in town for the Boston Marathon so we ended up paying over $500 a night for four nights of miserable sleeping conditions. We had booked six months in advance so out of curiosity I checked the booking site when we returned home and saw at least two complaints about the mattress in the few weeks prior to our arrival. We have been home for three days and I am still experiencing significant back pain. I am at a loss for understanding how they could know about this issue, not take any action to correct it and then ignore us. I do not recommend staying here unless you have some form of guarantee that the mattress has been replaced.

Location and cleanliness
Uncomfortable mattress ; contained an indentation. Too small and “cozy’. No place to put our toiletries in the bathroom. No place to put our luggage. Had to leave it on the floor. Kitchen cupboards were unreachable. Needed a step stool, but none available.

The location was very convenient, apartment was clean, check in and out process was easy.
The bed was awful - very uncomfortable. My spouse and I dealt with really sore/achy necks after sleeping on the mattress. Luckily, we are not tall people so the size was not much of an issue, but if you are taller than 5’5 and there are two people…you might want to check out another property.

I really liked the location. It was so close to pulic transportation. Also there were any shops and restaurants in the area. I also liked the ease of using the codes to enter and exit.

I loved loved loved the location. The building and facility are lovely. I loved DeLuca's grocery store next door. Staying on Newbury Street is the only way to go for me. The little kitchen was well-equipped. When I had issues in the apartment which I did more than once), once I was IN, they responded quickly to e-mails and sent up a very nice person to resolve. All issues were resolved quickly.
I did not get my access code until many e-mails sent by me that their online checkin did not work. I had to download my passport and it never would let me do that. Therefore, my access code was not sent to me until I finally got through to them about 5 hours before arriving. I called and called their number and never got through (even in the acceptable hours) and finally they responded to my e-mail and let me give them my passport that way. They said they wrote to my e-mail many times, but I had nothing other than the initial greeting when I booked. Stress when you are traveling alone that you will arrive on a sidewalk with no code. You also should know that there is a $300 deposit that they take from your bank account and give back after checkout. I have stayed in endless places while traveling the US and Europe and never have had this happen. But they did return the money for sure. My first day I got no hot water shower because the faucet requires full force to get it hot...not just turning water to hot which I was trying. No explanation to know this. I had to ask for a desk chair (there was a desk and no chair). The television channels only will switch if you stand up next to the closet where the router is. Not every relaxing, but if TV is important to you, you should know. I just kept it on one channel. here is a cute kitchenette but the utensils (and knives) were above my reach with no stool. It took some work to figure out how to get them. All in all, it was a lovely place to stay, but it had issues that I think they need to easily resolve. They had to help me on more than one occasion and that could have been eliminated if they had directions by the hot water shower and made sure there was the correct furniture (desk chair, stool). I would stay again if I thought these things were improved.

The hosts were extremely communicative, and answered my questions very quickly. The flat itself is very conveniently located, and also well equipped. It is excellent value for space/location/facilities. I was staying for 1 week so found it much more comfortable than a hotel! could unpack my suitcase, make coffee + breakfast in the morning.
