Beautiful location, very clean quaint cottage, well equipped and very comfortable
4.7
Modern decor, beautiful location, cleanliness, quirkiness and responsive host.
Complicated oven/grill & bathroom being downstairs although neither were major.
4.7
Quiet location,spotlesly clean.
Creaky floorboard on landing and climb into bed.
4.7
Lovely cozy cottage in an ideal location. Had everything you could need in terms of facilities for a short stay. Dog friendly as well.
4.7
Modern kitchen with everything you need to make a basic meal and breakfast. We had a readymade lasagne and garlic bread and bacon sandwiches for breakfast with no problem. No washing machine though so don’t bank on being able to throw dirty kids clothes in the wash! Comfy mattresses. Efficient heating and plenty of hot water. Comfy sofa and chair in lounge. Quiet village location, beautiful countryside. Very clean throughout.
It’s perfect for a couple but not suitable for children or for anyone with any sort of mobility issues or dodgy knees or backs etc.
We had our 12 week old baby with us and it was really tricky for the following reasons:
We asked for the travel cot to be there, which it was, but it was the size of a playpen and too deep for me to lean over and put the baby in - I couldn’t reach the bottom! Luckily I had bought the Moses basket with us just in case.
There are steps everywhere throughout the property inside and out so trying to get the pram over the gravel outside and then down the steps into the lounge was impossible. (The kitchen where you enter the property is too small to leave a pram there) We ended up having to carry the baby to the car in the lane opposite in the rain each time because there was no space to keep the pram in the house.
The second to bottom step of the staircase is broken and made going up and down (whilst holding the baby or not) dangerous. It needs replacing straight away.
The beds are really comfortable once you get into them. They are both on platforms which are waist high and only accessed by a fixed stool that you step onto then crawl onto the bed. Because the stool is fixed, if the person in the bed is asleep on that side, then you have to climb over them to get to the step to get down. We ended up sleeping in separate rooms to avoid this.
Be aware that the location is not Skipton - it is half an hour’s drive away.
If you’re hoping to see the gorgeous views whilst sipping a cup of tea on the sofa, choose a different cottage. The lounge is at lower ground floor level so the bottom of the windows are at head height and you can only look up and see the tops of the trees.
The dining chairs are really uncomfortable as the seat pads are rubbish and you sink and end up sitting on the frame.
Rain comes down the chimney onto the lounge floor.

Quirky, clean, facilities and location
Nothing

Beautiful quiet village, had everything you could need. Exceptionally clean. Quirky little cottage x
4.7
Absolutely Spotless. Decidedly quirky and had I come for a romantic weekend/ longer it had everything that was needed. Whole load of exceptionals really. I will rate this a very solid 9.5/10.
I do have three niggles.
The first is that there are too many uncurtained / poorly curtained windows downstairs. Privacy is thus not optimised and this is particularly important since the owners seem to be targetting this property let primarily as a romantic getaway destination.
Upstairs was just fine, but downstairs you were always open to view via the windows in the front and back doors. In addition, proper curtain rings are needed on the main downstairs window. Those curtains simply didn’t stay shut properly.
Suggest, that when replacement is required you go with traditional solid wood doors for both. In the meantime, please fit blinds on both doors - this will be particularly helpful given the unavoidable location of the bathroom downstairs.
Though there is a low risk of people being in the right place to see in - given the location - there is no need not to give guests the option for absolute privacy - particularly so with the front door.
Secondly, and this is cheaply resolved) please provide a small amount of tea [loose leaf black tea in a sealable container is fairly swipe-proof and will last] and coffee along with perhaps say a pint of milk.
Not only will this be cheaper than the wine currently offered, it will be more helpful on arrival. Besides, some of us don’t drink and given the vertiginous nature of the local roads, visitors are more likely to most appreciate a quick tea/coffee on arrival to allow them to freshen up before they head to the supermarket - where they can get their own preferred tipple.
Thirdly, I would suggest you update the hard copies of local menus etc. in the book. This should be done at least every six months. Old menus, even if still in date detail wise just look like you don’t care and you clearly do care.

The property was quaint and cosy - very clean - great shower ! - walking distance to a Bistro with lovely food- central to visiting tourists spots.
Struggled with the bed - mattress was on a board not slats very uncomfortable- didn’t sleep a whole night on the bed during stay as agitated back pain, spent rest of night on the sofa.
Disappointed with the view from the cottage, the suggested “hill view” was next to a roadside in the front garden - main hill view blocked by high fence at the rear.
Front room needed reconfiguring suggest tv to be under the stairs and sofa to be on the back wall under the window - only table to put cup on was with single chair under the stairs I felt uncomfortable when sitting on the sofa putting cup of tea on the puffy incase of spillage as no where else to put it.( I wouldn’t do this at home)
Leaving instructions included to clean out the log burner if used during stay

Lovely Cottage, in what feels like the middle of no where, perfect to get away and switch off. The forest is a walkable distance from the cottage, which we found really handy. The cottage itself is beautiful. It has everything you need, lovely touch having a bottle of wine for arrival. The owners were amazing , keeping us updated with the snow conditions. We are so grateful to them as their communication up until the last minute meant we were able to come and enjoy the cottage for the weekend.
Everything is perfect

Gorgeous cottage equipped with everything we needed and more.
Excellent location for exploring the forest and moors.
Great communication.
The oven was a bit confusing to use but once we found instructions on Google it worked great.

No complaints

Cosy and clean in the perfect location for an escape!
Everything was lovely (although a power shower would top it off - water pressure a bit low)

Key box on arrival was very helpful with a young child. We could just open the box, get the key and set up quickly. The cottage itself was wonderful, perfectly clean and cosy. Set up for a winter stay with Christmas wreaths and a Christmas tree, we were even lucky enough to get some real snow which made our stay even more magical. Little touches like a bottle of wine and fire kit were very much appreciated. The facilities are great including plenty of DVDs, board games and books. Beds are super comfy and decor makes the cottage feel really homely. Next time we will definitely be bringing the dog (we had planned some non dog friendly activities during our stay this time), but the walled and gated garden would be perfect for anyone wishing to visit with their four legged friends. Thanks for a wonderful stay - our only negative is that we have to leave!!!!
Going home!!! Wish we could stay forever.

A beautiful lovely, cosy, clean gorgeous lil cottage
4.7
It was beautifully decorated and so warm and comfortable. Absolutely spotless too and we loved it’s quirkiness. It was a joy to return to after working at a very cold craft show over the weekend. The area is very rural and unspoiled and the views of the forest and mountains in the morning were spectacular. We would love to return as soon as we can for a proper holiday, (not a working one next time).
No criticism at all.

Absolutely excellent cottage very clean😊 great location for walks and visiting other villages a short stay away.
And very important dog friendly 😊
Everything was excellent 😊

Warm and clean.
The lack of info telling us the toilet was downstairs (and then up a few more). Not fun when you have to use it once or twice during the night.
Apparently, Booking.com do not allow specific info to be made available a available via their website.

Fabulous

The cottage is like narnia, much bigger of the inside. really clean and lovely owners. great location, right next to a lovely walk for the dog and it felt very private. Also it was so peaceful and quiet at night.
The property garden is billed as dog secure and that is true, but for smaller breeds. My German Shepherd could easily hop the low wall if she wanted, so we had to monitor her in the garden at all times. but that wasn’t a huge hardship.

quirky and cute. extremely clean and welcoming.

Absolutely everything! The cottage was absolutely stunning, clean, cozy, well equipped. So looking forward to going back in the near future.

nice cottage but nothing there advertising great location but 30 minutes drive, nearest town was settle not Skipton .
very misleading on Booking.com
location
4.7
We thought the cottage was very cute. The beds were quite comfortable with a rather unique bedroom arrangement because of the age of the property. We were there during lambing season and a farmer's field next door as so we could see (and hear) the lambs calling....very nice. A small cottage but big enough for 4 family members to feel comfortable in for 3 nights. Definitely a family-oriented place but really nice. The Dales are great too!
