About this apartment rental
This unit is a 2 BR 3 BA unit (occupancy of 6), level in, with a great view looking down on the ski slopes below. Within a 200 yard walk you are at the top of Big Birch chair lift to start your day on the slopes. While in the condo you can enjoy the foosball table and bumper pool table, located in the loft. There are gas fire logs providing a romantic atmosphere and a wonderfully equipped kitchen to enjoy homecooked meals. This is the lowest priced 2BR with loft Reserve unit available - a great value. No smoking, NO pets, max occupancy is 6. *ONLY TWO(2) PARKING PERMITS PER UNIT. VEHICLES WITHOUT PERMITS WILL BE TOWED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE* 4x4/awd, chains or snow tires needed in winter. No Check-in's Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. All guests required to sign rental agreement upon booking.

Lovely location in Sugar Mountain, enjoy the beautiful Sugar Mtn Golf course.The condo was the same footprint as in years past, unfortunately it was in horrible condition and we spent a full weekend cleaning it ourselves. Furnishings were dated and the bedding in Master was nasty.

This our fourth summer in the Banner Elk area. We were here prior to Covid and this is the first year back. We love this area, all there is to do, the Sugar Mtn. golf course is our favorite., great restaurants, lovely area and wonderful weather. The condo was dirty, we spent two days cleaning, but the rental agency fairly compensated us. I could live with the dates furniture, but the cleaning issue was a problem. I would only recommend this unit if we were guaranteed it was cleaned prior to another visit

Great location for skiers and anyone loving expansive mountain views. Everything as described and ski slope walkable from the home's backyard. (walk down the stairs and head toward the lift, less than a 1/4 mile walk and stairs could be icy so be careful!)

Great place for us and our kids. Short walk down the trail to top of Big Birch lift. Kitchen was fully stocked. I would only suggest to add some larger stock pots we were unable to find anything big enough to boil spaghetti. I’m sure someone ruined the one there and threw it out because everything else was fully stocked. Thanks again.

The unit was clean and comfortable with great views. I would not recommend trying to ski with young kids. While you can walk to the lift you need to walk down multiple flights of stairs which is very hard with young kids especially if there is weather. Be aware of the four wheel drive recommendation as it is a steep slope

Parking was a problem. Even though we were told we could have 2 cars, there was not space. The condo needs attention. The shower curtain liner was barely hanging by a thread, and the foosball table is on its last leg. The location, view, and the fireplace were plusses.

First time in NC
Everything went smooth, from check in to check out. The place is located right on the mountain and views are spectacular. The place was big for the 5 of us. My kids loved it that they had their own room. Highly recommend. Food Lion dow. The road is great.

The condo was clean. It was ski in ski out but unfortunately we didn’t get to ski as there was no snow. You definitely need a 4 wheel drive as the roads are steep. The foosball table was at hit for our boys. It was great hiking at Grandfather mountain.

Internet goes in and out. Very, very frustrating. We had this same problem before. You have to keep resetting the modem and connections. Very inconvenient. Unit wasn't as clean as usual. Front Bedroom beds were haphazardly made. We usually bring mattress toppers to make the bedding more comfortable. I would only recommend this unit if no other unit like it was unavailable.

First let me say that I highly suggest (as a property owner who rents on VRBO) that the owner of this property consider switching management companies. 1) We called two days ahead to see if we could add a night stay (which the website clearly said the property was available) and the property manager said they didn't have the resources to let us stay an additional night. 2) Check in states 4:00 but we were not able to check in until 6. 3) The water was turned off in the unit (no instructions from the property management company. Had to call plumber to get instructions on turning the water on.4) Realized later that evening (after a day of skiing) that we had no hot water. Called plumber who said we needed to turn on the breaker to the hot water heater (no instructions from the management company). Had no hot water entire first day we were at the property.5) Had to take the trash off to a public trash facility, as there is no close trash disposalPros)1) Clean Property with beautiful views2) Very short drive to Sugar Mountain Resort3) Very Private gated communityUnfortunately due to the property management company, even though this property was great, we will not be returning to rent ANY property available from this company.

First let me say that I highly suggest (as a property owner who rents on VRBO) that the owner of this property consider switching management companies.

We had a great stay at this condo. We're a family of 5 and having 5 separate spaces for sleep was the most important to us. This condo has a loft with a futon and full bathroom allowing my youngest son to have his own room. The other room had twin beds with a bathroom and then the master with a (clean...I checked) jetted tub, great shower and king bed! You can't get better than that for this price.
The family room and kitchen were perfect. There's a great fireplace (which is on a timer...nice) and semi-comfomfortable couches. The kitchen is nice with granite and fully stocked with loads of stuff.
The loft area has a few fun things to do, but we didn't utilize it.
The HUGE deck is amazing! The view is incredible. Although the Spring weather didn't quite cooperate, the ski in/ski out was great. My boys would get their tickets the night before and hit the slopes!

This condo is a great location right next to slope. Our family of 5 really enjoyed our time at Sugar Mountain. The furnishings are a bit dated but functioned well for us. Adequately equipped kitchen. Washer/dryer. Gas fireplace was great. Would stay here again!

The company is very friendly to work with and gave us all the information we needed for a great weekend. The location is just a few feet from a lift but it was the blue slope so we still drove down to the bunny slope for our first time 7 year old skier. We will definitely book here and with this company again.

We called the management company and they said they knew about it and the owner decided to get a new dishwasher instead of fixing it, which didn't help us. Not sure when they were planning on replacing it. 2. The condo wasn't cleaned. We got a call after we picked up the keys saying that the cleaner needed to come back to the condo to finish the kitchen, so while we were supposed to be eating dinner, we had someone in our condo (during covid) cleaning the kitchen. When we went to sit down, I noticed spots on the kitchen table (which she had cleaned before coming back), and when I got a wet paper towel to wipe it off, it was entirely black, like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. 3. The beds were pretty uncomfortable.4. There were no balls for the bumper pool. One of the reasons that we picked this condo was because the kids would have fun with the games, but we couldn't play pool. The walls were so thin that the whole condo shook when they played foosball. 5. The property management company was difficult to deal with. They couldn't tell me when they would be open until. They said they didn't have enough staff to check the cleanings. They didn't know that our condo wasn't ready when we checked in. The damage deposit was extremely high compared to other places we looked at.

When we reserved this unit, the low price made us a bit iffy. Once we got there all our worries disappeared. The pictures don't do justice, the views are amazing, the unit is very spacious, the balcony is massive. The drive to the unit is definitely a bit steep, but if you drive safe and slowly it will be fine. The unit came with extra cleaning supplies, was spotless, came with enough kitchen utensils to make a large group dinner. The only possible complain we have was the fact that the office closed 10 minutes before the displayed close time, so we had to go back in the morning to pick up our lift tickets. The trail to the top of big birch took no more than 5 minutes with all our gear. We were considering staying at the hotel at the top of Oma's Meadow because it was ski in/out but opted for this for the extra space and 100% made the right choice. Might not be ski in/out but its the closest you can get without sacrificing spaciousness. Was the property description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc? Yes, the property description did not explain that it is a gated community which is a plus but everything else is as described Was the property clean and well-maintained? Absolutely Did the owner or manager provide good customer service? Absolutely Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative? 110% no questions asked What activities, attractions and restaurants did you enjoy? Pizza place was really good, food lion around the corner was also a huge plus. Other than that skiing was good especially for March
