Find yourself in the wooded wonderland of Sugar Mountain at this gorgeous home sitting just a half-mile from endless skiing and hiking trails! Though this getaway is in the heart of Sugar Mountain, you will feel as if you are in a secluded cabin away from it all due to the dense forest right outside. Start each day with a warm mug of coffee on the wraparound deck and breathe in that fresh mountain air. Most guests will spend most of their time outside, yet the interior of this home has just as much to offer with rustic accents, a spacious layout, and a well-equipped kitchen boasting all necessary appliances. When everyone returns to home base, gather for a home-cooked meal on the deck or in the dining area and wrap up a perfect vacation day with a movie night in the living room.
Located in the heart of Sugar Mountain, this dreamy mountain oasis is perfectly positioned for full days of skiing on fresh powder or hiking along gorgeous trails amongst fall foliage. Great hiking areas nearby include Grandfather Mountain State featuring the Mile High Swinging Bridge and Beech Mountain. A round of 18 is just a half-mile away at Ole Esval Sugar Mountain Municipal Golf Course, so the golfers of the group will get their fill of fun as well. When guests build up an appetite, head into Banner Elk and grab a bite to eat.

Needs too do a better job on the cleanliness of the space before saying it's ready.

Nice quiet community. Clean condo and had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed the place and nearby activities.

The property was great. We enjoyed every second of our vacation. It wasn’t too far from shopping and was a great place to take a load off after a
Full day of activities.

Loved our stay, even with the cleaning issues it would not prevent a second chance to do better. Great location and close to lots of points of interest.

Comfortable space, great view, Short walk/drive to lot at Big Birch

Very nice property close to the slopes. Parking with only one vehicle with a party of six is troublesome but we made it work. Overall a nice ski trip location.

It was exactly what our group needed for a weekend away. Clean, and comfortable!

We wanted a quiet little place with a fireplace and this was perfect. My husband and I, our two teenagers and my mother in law had plenty of room in this little house. We loved the decor and the view was beautiful. We were there the last weekend of "leaf season" so the first day we could just see the beautiful leaf color by the end we could see Grandfather Mountain and everything else perfectly. It is a perfect little spot, out of the way but also only 3- 4 minutes to restaurants and the grocery store. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Condo couldn't be any more perfect. The owners have taken a lot of time and made every effort on the condo furnishings, decor with updated bathrooms and kitchen and nice wood floors.
The condo however was not cleaned properly upon our arrival. We were greeted with a slight odor, dirty face towels in the bathroom, two beds appeared to have been slept in or not been redone. Dirty pan in the oven, used soap and shampoos in the bathtub. A broken towel rack in the upstairs bathroom. No body soap, no dishsoap, no garbage bags, no
dish sponge or rag, no hand soap. I called upon arrival and then again the very next day and was assured that this would be addressed and that I would get a call. No one called or came by to provide the items mentioned during our visit. I personally cleaned and purchased what was necessary to make our stay comfortable.
And washed the towels before our families use.
Would definitely stay here again but would ensure the property manager follows through on inspecting to be sure the property is indeed rental ready prior to a guest arrival.

Enjoyed a weekend getaway in the mountains. Foliage was beautiful.
The house was lovely and located in a nice section of Sugar Mountain. Just a short ride to the mountain if we plan to return to ski.
House was clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Could hear voices from guests in condo below but not loud enough to disrupt us.
King bed was comfortable and soft towels provided for stay.
Short rides to Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and local attractions.
Would definitely return for another stay.

We really enjoyed the weekend at Sugar Mountain. Our unit was well equipped and very well maintained. The large porch was very nice given the unseasonably warm weather.
4.4
Easy access to house. House was clean when we arrived. Plenty of towels and sheets were clean. Shower was hot but had low pressure. All we had to do before we left was to load and start dishwasher. Recommend staying here.
4.4
comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, quiet mountainside home.
The decor is mountain all the way with great local touches, and the renovated interior makes you think cabin - though it's a condominium/townhouse building. Highly recommend this rental unit.

I am providing this review to hopefully help others and the owner of this condo. My family owns a rental property in Alabama so I understand the importance of a good review. I really hate leaving a 3 star review. I would like to start off by saying the main problem appears to be the management company (VACASA). The best part of this condo was the location and the size of the rooms. It was a short walk (5 minutes) to the base of the mountain. My 6 year old's made the walk in the snow no problem! The other plus were all three rooms were a good size with nice size closets and dressers if you want to unpack. Now for the negative and reason I gave it 3 stars. The property does allow dogs and we actually had 2 small dogs with us. With that said I was disappointed when we arrived and the condo smelt like dog urine. There was also dog poop (not from our dogs) on the nice deck. Now for the biggest issue and why I would not recommend booking with Vacasa. The fire place did NOT work. We were there for a week and called everyday and it was not fixed. Sitting by the fire while it snowed outside was one thing we really looked forward to. Not having a working fireplace was very disappointing.

The property was comfortable for our family and in a great location with access to skiing, tubing, and ice skating. There were a few items management had to address after check in (dirty bathroom, microwave didn’t work, broken blind in bedroom, dog waste on private deck, candy wrapper on table, crumbs on nightstand) and the staff addressed the issues in a timely manner. We would stay at this location again and hope management will do a better job cleaning and preparing unit.

Arrived later in the evening on check-in day. Upon going to bed, found that while the bed was made the sheets did not appear to be washed, with crusty stains on them. Terrible. We had to wash bedding then. Dirty washcloth left hanging in one bathroom, and the other smelled like urine. During COVID times, this is completely unacceptable. I called towards the end of the stay and was told they would have sent another cleaning crew. But it was already late at night and I didn't want to have to move all our stuff and deal with a crew coming in esp. as the weather was bad. This is a big failure. The place was otherwise nice. Living area a bit small for a 3 BR. With 6 people it would have been quite cramped. But there were just 2 of us so it was sufficient.
