About this house rental

Come to stay and play on Bodega Bay! This two bedroom two bath unit is part of a unique and picturesque three unit property surrounded on three sides by water. You will enjoy a full view of the bay and a large private deck to relax and soak it in.

The beautiful kitchen is modern and fully equipped. It has a gas stove, dishwasher and microwave. Not to mention you can still enjoy the views while preparing a meal or brewing a cup of coffee!

The open living area offers comfy furniture, fireplace and direct access to the large private deck overlooking the bay. The connecting dining area also has a wine cooler.

The living area has a Smart TV and DVD player. There is free high speed internet(200+) and WIFI.
Both bedrooms have flatscreens and DVD players as well. There is also power outlets on the deck so you charge all your devices and stay connected while relaxing outside.

Both bedrooms offer private baths and water closets. There is a pullout that can be used upon request as well.

Have a relaxing retreat or experience the many local activities that include; kayaking, golf, fishing, whale watching, winetasting, kite flying, antiquing, beachcombing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, or sightseeing.

The property is located right on the water at the bottom of a long narrow driveway. Parking is limited and it can be challenging to turn around at the bottom. The best way to enter the driveway is heading south on Highway 1, so if you're heading north on Hwy 1 go to Diekman's Deli and turn around in their parking lot to head south on Hwy 1, the driveway is about 50 feet south and on the right. If the driveway is entered while heading north, most cars will bottom out. There is also parking across the street.

This Bodega Bay VRBO is literally on the water with a great balcony and lots of windows. My midwestern family had a lot of fun watching out for sea lions, birdlife, and fishing boats during our three night stay. The rental layout and beds were comfortable, with modern amenities throughout. Hosts were friendly and helpful. A couple of grocery stores and nice restaurants were within a walkable distance. .

I was totally impressed with the location! I will admit I was concerned because the parking directions were so specific and I couldn’t quite get a good sense of the layout from the pictures. But when we got there, everything fell into place. The driveway is daunting but easier to manage with two people in the car. The entry is a key pad which was great, no key to keep track of. It was lovely and modern inside and literally worth every penny just to be right on the freaking water. We sat on the deck with binoculars and saw tons of wildlife. We didn’t have any kids with us, but 4 grown adults were perfectly comfortable. I love visiting Bodega Bay so I hope to stay here again.

The place was exactly as described through the pictures and comments. Comfortable with great bay views (right on the bay). Good communication, easy check in, tricky driveway. Expensive, but my wife and I and our adult daughter really enjoyed the place! Glad we stayed here!

What a fabulous home to stay at! The online discretion doesn’t give it justice for how “on the water” this home is. 2/3 of the home is over the water. You don’t have to go anywhere to enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife the Bodega Bay has. We even got to watch a midair battle for a fish between an osprey and a bald eagle 20’ in front of us from the living room! The home is very convenient to the markets for food and 5 minutes to Bodega Head. The kitchen had all you needed to make great meals while you looked out at the bay. Both bedrooms were very comfortable and having two full baths is great. We would highly recommend staying here for anyone that wants to spend time on the water or heading inland to wine country or the redwoods. Eddie and Debbie

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this property and we absolutely love being right on the water. No matter the weather, the bay is enchanting. Our daughter had fun counting birds, boats, and the occasional seal throughout the weekend. Steve, the host, is easy to communicate with.

Great property right on the water. Amazing sunsets and wildlife right off the deck. The unit could have been a little better marked, otherwise the directions to the property were spot on. Lots to explore in the area for families. We really enjoyed salmon creek beach. Would definitely stay again.

We spent 2 days at this lovely home situated right on the bay. The scene on the porch is wonderful - lots of birds and an occasional seal could be seen and heard. Gorgeous sunsets. We could have spent a week just taking in that view. The house itself is very comfortable and well appointed. Full kitchen with all the necessary items. Very comfortable sitting area in the living room. Two bedrooms with doors with their own bathrooms. Access was easy from Route 1; follow the instructions carefully due to the somewhat steep approach to the driveway - but we did this and it was no problem. There are small step-ups in the house to the bedrooms, so probably not for someone for which this would be a problem. Two TVs and plenty of games, but we mostly read and watched the bay. I will address a few concerns raised by other guests: (1) there is plenty of hot water if you only let it run for a few minutes; (2) there is no central heating, but a nice wood-burning stove and a separate heater in each room - it was chilly out but we were nice and warm; (3) there is some noise from the unit above, specifically, those guests had a young child and you could hear them running a bit on the ceiling above. We did not find this intrusive or annoying unless it had gone on all night, which it did not. No different from most apartments and attached homes. We would most definitely stay at this lovely place again.

I traveled with 3 of my sisters. We each made comments about how amazing this place is. The view is incredible! We had no issues, all of our needs were met. The owner treated us as family, he was absolutely wonderful! Sitting out on the deck was so refreshing and relaxing. The unit was exactly as described. There was plenty of room and it was very comfortable. Check in was a snap and check out was just the same. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bodega Bay. The moment you walk into the property you are met with a view of the bay through the floor to ceiling windows over the deck. We spent our mornings sipping coffee on the deck watching the kayakers and wildlife. We will definitely go back.

My 4th visit here. Love it for the views and birdwatching. Appreciate that the driveway has been newly paved and entrance to unit has sturdier wood walkway. Couldn’t find the step stool that helps us reach the dishes on the second shelf, so had to handwash things and reuse. Absense of lamps in main living/dining area made reading and relaxing less appealing. Still no grab bars in shower/tubs. The location is still my favorite in the area, so I still give it a 5 star.

We have stayed at this property each year for numerous years. The location cannot be beat; right over the water! The house was super clean and both the property owner and cleaner asked if we needed anything. There was a lot of algae along the shore this year, but that didn't really affect our stay. We could only smell it in the morning. With such a great view from the deck, we rarely walk down the stairs to the beach anyway. We will definitely be back next year!

Property is really nice. Well appointed, nice and clean. Location is wonderful. Be aware that the property has another located directly above so anyone sensitive to noisy neighbours should bear this in mind.

Gorgeous location on the water, with a little private deck to access the water. We brought our kayak and has lots of fun. The house is a bit on the smaller side (e.g. no closets in the bedrooms) but was comfortable. The convenience store nearby is great and super useful when you forgot something. Would stay again.

awesome location: classic Bodega Bay: some difficulty with entering and exiting on Hwy 1 and some of the multiple levels/steps were a little tough on elderly but if you are OK with that, this is your place!

I don't want to say too much...everyone will want to stay here. This is one of the best places I have stayed using the VRBO system. A rare experience staying in a converted boat house on the water looking out over the bay. The driveway and parking were a bit challenging. But, Steve provided great information regarding safety and alternatives. A small sacrifice for this amazing property. Overall, a real treat. Thank you.

We had a wonderful mid week stay for my wife’s birthday. Two adult couples fit nicely on this first floor triplex. The owner Steve, was very helpful in every way. Parking was tight, but the owner is in the process of making it better. Looking forward to return again.

Clean, beautiful location looking out over bay. Even had a couple of visits from a local sea lion. We enjoyed our time visiting with college friends we see too little. Cabinets in kitchen were high. Very cozy.

This was my family’s second time staying at this property and we enjoyed our stay just as much as the first time. We appreciated sitting on the deck, listening to the water and fog horns and watching the birds and fishing boats. We often had to motivate ourselves to go out instead of just relaxing on the deck! The property was just not worth it for the price we paid. I’d expect a little more polish and better amenities at this price point. The view is great and the kitchen, living room area, and deck are nice nice but the bedrooms left little to be desired. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and hard as a rock. Worst beds I’ve ever slept in in my life and I’ve stayed in a ton of other rental properties. Hot water was an issue and took forever to actually get hot. The heating in the unit was a major problem, too. There is a wood stove that’s supposed to be used to heat up the space but logs aren’t provided (!!) and doesn’t really heat the home. We had to plug in space heaters to stay warm and leave them on constantly. It felt like I was camping indoors. I wouldn’t stay here again. Disappointed.

We loved being on Bodega Bay. Even though we had some stormy weather the view was always amazing. Seals and lots of bird life were very entertaining. We recommend this property!
