Halong Bay is a must see when in Vietnam and we preferred a more traditional boat over those new ones, did not regret that choice! The best part is definitely the super friendly staff - Luong is an angel who made our stay very special. The whole crew goes above and beyond to make this trip special. The chef prepared a lot of vegetarian food for us - loved it. The views are breathtaking and the especially the kayaking is pristine.
The bed’s not very comfortable and the room is a bit small, the balcony tiny. It’s rather loud at night as you hear the other guests a lot. The program is very ambitiously planned and we ended up joining half of the activities. The food is excellent but too much, we rolled around on the boat basically ;) There is a lot of trash in the water, the boats should make an effort to help clean the ocean.

The cruise ship is beautiful, the rooms were spacious and clean, thoughtfully decorated with elements of local design.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
We were impressed with the food. They all went to great lengths to provide an excellent service.
We were disappointed with the state of the bay, unfortunately over tourism and neglect have made a huge impact in the area. Ha long and Lan ha are very polluted, there is plastic and rubbish everywhere in the bay and the otherwise stunning islands.

Definitely one of the best experience we had during our asian trip. It is a bit costy, but its definitely worth it. Tommy is such a lovely host - hes been explaining us vietnamese culture for hours and hes a very cool guy to have a chat with. Room with balcony is stunning. Food on the boat is superbly good.

Everything! Beautiful boat (looked almost new), accommodations were excellent - believe all rooms have a private balcony but there is also a lovely sun deck on the roof. I had read reviews that said food wasn’t great - not sure who those people were or what they’re used to eating - food was Incredible!!We said we ate everything and from bbq’d oysters to fresh grilled prawns to 4 course lunch we’re not disappointed.
They also provide you with reuseable water bottles and free filtered water! beer and drinks run $2 usd - $8 usd but are well worth it, especially when you have access to fresh water and don’t have to use plastic bottles!
Sena also goes to southern part of bay (but you get to see central on way in and out) and so while there are still ships around you feel more secluded and in nature. Don’t miss morning kayaking or tai chi!
Staff was what made this the experience. From our amazing tour guide Tommy, to the cruise manager Ha, to all of the amazing crew - thank you!! Cannot recommend Sena Cruises enough.

The main ship was nice. The cabin spacey and the crew very attentive.
I thought the stay on a smaller boat would not include the use of a day ship for excursions and that this was a two day cruise not a location for travelers to be brought to for 1 and 2 night stays.

The cruise ship is one of the modern ones on the bay as it was only built in 2018 and then stood still for many years due to the pandemic. It’s also on the smaller side with only 18 cabins which makes for a more intimate experience. After 2h the manager knew people‘s names and room numbers, so I felt very well taken care of. The service is top notch and throughout there is more food than one can possibly eat. I do not like seafood so told them in advance and got very tasty alternatives. Like all boats they keep a rigorous schedule but never felt rushed. I loved my time on board and will definitely come back.
Drinks are on the pricey side for Vietnam standards and only water is included. Also I did not know before how dirty the water of the bay actually is. Lots of rubbish, plastic and waste floating around. The government should really enforce stricter environmental regulations to keep the beauty of the area alive!

+ very clean
+ beautiful scenery
+ generally well designed boat
+ outdoor restaurant
+ good kayaking spot
- missing a bit the small touches (like pillows on the deck/free water refill/nicer welcome drink (was just tea)
- no focus on environmental aspects
- food is not tastiest (more local food would be great as the pho at breakfast was really nice but the other dishes lacked a bit of flavor)
- no history on the area eg. went on bamboo boats but no info now and why they’re used etc.

It was a solid cruise and the staff were generally quite helpful. Plenty of time to go swimming, kayaking and see Ha Long Bay. Definitely worth it and decent value for money
The food was okay but definitely a big leaning towards seafood. It wasn't peak season so there was a bit of mucking around to pick up lots of different groups but they managed it pretty well

We had a fantastic host, Andy was very knowledgeable and made the trip run smoothly.
The food was amazing, lots of care & thought have gone into the menu.
We had a beautiful corner room, which was comfortable and we had a lovely night sleep.
I think compared to other cruises we paid more for a 1 night cruise and I think we would of had a similar trip on any of the cruises we’d previously looked at. We chose this thinking it would be higher end but it felt like we just paid more for the same service.
I didn’t realise before booking how time tabled the experience would be, I knew going in it included activities but it’s rolled out to the minute, even telling you when you can shower. It made it feel like a school trip and not a leisurely luxury cruise around Ha Long we had hoped for but that’s more my expectations Vs reality not anything the cruise did wrong, I think if the timetable was advised to guests in detail before/when booking then there’s no shock on arrival.
The boat fumes made us feel very light headed & once the boat starts moving it’s very loud in the back room which we paid more for.

I enjoyed every bit of the trip. The ship is well and newly built, bringing comfort to passengers. The crew members were professional, friendly and courteous. There were a lot of activities that were fun and educational. I learnt a lot about the history legends around the Ha Long Bay. Keep it up guys!

Very clean and modern. Excellent customer service from staff and crew we encountered during our journey. Our tour guides (Tommy, William and Thinh) were commendable. They were concerned guests' well-being and safety. Great foods. Great view from our cabin.
Communications with the company need much to be improved. Before our trip, our messages to Sena Cruises took many days to get responded. Sena first offered me $US 20 / person for the RT transfer ($US40 total for me and my wife) that I agreed. Then one day before we got picked up at our hotel, they changed to $US 25/person. I questioned the sudden price change then they finally agreed to their initial offer. Also on the check-out day on the cruise, the final bill showed to us was a bit higher from the amount quoted in Booking.com. The reason was they converted the US dollar amount (which the exchange rate fluctuated everyday) into VND instead of using the fixed price quoted in VND. We said we want to pay in VND as quoted on my confirmation. printout plus the $US 40 for the RT transfer. Also if Sena Cruises want to charge 3.5% extra using credit cards for payment, they should say so in Booking.com. So people can bring enough cash to pay instead to avoid the 3.5% surcharge. I still wonder WHY Sena Cruises wanted need our passport information ahead of time many days before our trip.
