3 generations and a friend which included my 91 year old mother stayed for 2 nights. We were all amazed by the craftsmanship of each and everything in the house! It was the most peaceful trip and one for the memory book! Life is too short to not enjoy each moment- which we did! Thank you for having us and look forward to a return trip!

We stayed at the cabin for 3 nights. Check in was easy and convenient, could be completed without stopping by office and all the information and directions for the cabin was accurate and easy to follow. Road to cabin wasnt too bad, we did have an suv which would probably be best. The parking area was easy with plenty of room for a couple of cars and turn around.
We chose this cabin for the view and thats what we enjoyed most about it. We also appreciated the games/cards, pool table, and hot tub! The place was clean and there was enough dishes and towels for everyone (4 of us)
We went to the NOC on our first evening, nice dinner on the river and sitting by the river. Was about 15 min from cabin.
The 2nd day we rented a pontoon boat on nearby Fontana lake which was beautiful and we stopped by the river close to the cabin. There was a swinging bridge on Needmore road that was worth visiting due to proximity.
The 3rd day we went to the Okonoluftee river trail at the entrance to the Smokies, about 40 min away. We walked the trail, swam in the river (there were lots of tubers) and saw some elk. We then drove about 25 min to Deep Creek and hiked the easy 3 waterfalls there, also lots of tubers there.
Overall, the location was central to many activities and I would recommend this cabin to others.

The cabin was more remote than we realized it would be. The roads going up to it were rough and it was raining so that made them worse. The cabin was not real clean- I had to clean the vent on the refrigerator bottom on the first day because it was clogged with what looked like pet hair. I got a huge clump of it out. The frig was not cooling and I had to call about it. The property owner did come out and check on it the next day. We were appreciative of that. The kitchen floor was also not clean and didn't appear to be recently mopped- because I spilt some water and when I wiped it up the paper towel was filthy . The VRBO add said it accommodated up to10 but really the max was 6 so I was charged extra for the 4 kids. I brought an air mattress, so we used that. The furnishing are also dated. The kitchen was advertised as fully stocked but most of the pans were in bad shape. We had to use aluminum foil to cover all the baking pans and the other pots were scratched up pretty bad and some of the others had rust . The stove was very greasy - so we cleaned it with Clorox wipes. Coffee Keurig leaked when you made a cup. They also had a very cheap coffee maker. There was someone's wallet on top of the frig so again I don't think cleaning was very thorough. (We notified owner that it was there.) The fan in the downstairs bathroom sounded like a plane taking off so we had to make sure we kept it turned off. We had 10 people and there is only one small plastic trash can outside. The rules in the cabin say the owners will only take what is the can. We had to load up bags of trash in the pouring rain and find a place to take it too on the day we left. That was pretty frustrating. Internet was spotty as well. We were warned about that prior to coming. The back yard is really not safe for little ones to play (we had (2) –4-year, (1)- 5 and (1)-6-year-old. ) - it is narrow and has a steep drop off. The cross ties that were placed to form a barricade are missing in some places. It was nice to have an electric fireplace and a hot tub, the Christmas decorations were well done. The place was pet friendly and that was a nice feature. I would not stay here again .

I had to call 911 to the owner. We were out oh water for 2 1/2 days. He came to the cabin wanting to fight my 51 year old husband. The owner was a marine & is 82. He thought somehow we tore up the water pumps. It was 1 degree so they froze. He called my husband a MF & told him to come on the porch with his fist drawn. We had our 3 year old & 19 month old grandsons & their parents with us. His last words when he left he was coming back for all of us. I took that as he was going to kill us. The police came he came back & they know how he is. I deal with his daughter Ginger she’s so nice. So the first day no power for 4 hours the second & third day no water. Which we could have survived it just made us so uncomfortable that we all slept with our hand guns next to us & I told the police we had guns & if we had to we would use them. His daughter told me she wished I would have pressed charges she maintains all of his rentals & talks to her mean so she quit doing it for a year & his sales sank. Anyway he is mean & I will never rent from him again. Thank you Tracy Bennett

We really enjoyed the cabin from the minute we walked in. Very clean, well laid out, well stocked kitchen, fun activities, gorgeous views from the huge deck. We loved that it was already decorated for Christmas. The lot was perfect with so much privacy and a ton of parking. Every bed was comfortable and the family slept better than at home. Ginger made check in super easy and was very accessible. After some reviews we were curious about the driveway but had no problem with three types of cars (weather wasn’t a factor). You can’t get those views without some incline. We will absolutely book here again!

Cabin was very secluded and more than enough room. We only used the upstairs as it was only 2 of us, but view was amazing as the leaves were just past peak change. If you’re looking for quiet relaxation, this is a great place!

We loved the view and found it hard to leave this cabin! The cleanliness is 5 star. The beds were all very comfortable and the kitchen is stocked well as we had everything supplied that we needed to cook our meals. The communication with the owners is 5 star, they are very pleasant people. The hot tub was clean and worked very well. We enjoyed the pool tables and other games available to us. Bathrooms and showers worked nicely. We had no complaints other than when it was time for us to go home! Great for children of all ages. We can't wait to come back!! ❤

Abosulutely beautiful
Enjoyed everything was stocked well with dishes and pans which help on vacation. Nice big deck and beautiful hot tub. Plenty of room for the whole family very secluded. Caution have a suv or truck our rental car we was to low and would not make it completely up the driveway without dragging very badly. Other than that perfect stay we just parked at the end of the road and caught a ride with our group that had an SUV.

Great weekend in the mountains
Roomy with a great view. Enjoyed the deck, grill and hot tub. Other than a noisy whippoorwill rousting us awake at 5:30 am on a Saturday, everything was great!

What a view!
This cabin is wonderful for relaxing and getting away from it all. Ginger was fantastic with communicating and her impeccable attention to detail is why I’ll keep this cabin on my list for future visits. The cabin itself is beautiful, and can easily house a family of 5 with plenty room to stretch out. The drive to the cabin is a little daunting but completely doable with a confident driver. Can see how the road might be a little scary in wet conditions. We enjoyed the pool table immensely even though it could use some updating. Sitting on the back deck facing the mountains in the evening as the sun set is something I won’t soon forget. We heard fox and several owls in the woods every evening. Beds were comfy as was furniture. We brought our two small dogs and they were comfy as well. Highly recommend this cabin!

Great property, great host
The property was fantastic, just as advertised. The hot tub and pool table helped make the weekend even better.
The host was super helpful as well. There was icy weather that came through as we were staying and she helped ensure we were able to leave at a time that was safe

Family Friendly Cabin
It was such a pleasant stay at this cozy cabin! Very spacious and clean. Plenty of comfortable furniture for a big family and spectacular views. It was decorated for Christmas so beautifully it just made it feel so special. Great communication with rental company. Gravel roads were narrow but manageable. Would definitely recommend this property for a peaceful getaway.

Perfect setting
Beautiful setting, secluded with a great view and tons of ways for kids to be kept happy too. Lots of board games, pool table, a hot tub, fire pit, had something for everyone at any age to enjoy. The river access (passed on the way up to the cabin) for fishing, throwing rocks or just exploring was perfect. An incredible piece of real estate tucked away. We really enjoyed our stay. A road sign marking the first turn off the initial side road would be helpful, but wasn’t much of a problem. Thanks for a great weekend

Needs a good Clean and Furniture Upgrade!!
This property was just as pictured and it is in a very remote area. The roads to the property are a bit rough and you definitely need to be in a truck or SUV. Especially if ran or falling weather is called for in the area. The sofa in the main area is broken down and when sitting on it you can feel the spring in your hiney. The pillows on the sofa are full of dust as well as all the blinds in the master suite and actually the entire upstairs area. Dust is thick and fuzzy on the wall decor and the crevices in the doors to rooms. Thick enough you can write your name! We also had fruit flies appear every time we walked in the kitchen area and began cooking. I honestly thing it was coming out of the JennAir range vent. In addition, when we pulled out plates to eat off of, there was food caked on a couple of plates. All in all when we arrived the house was surface cleaned, it has a beautiful view and the beds were comfortable but if you have dust allergies, this may not be the house for you. We started to clean the house ourselves but was afraid of a full on allergy attack and would miss my nephews wedding which was the reason for the trip and rental. The owners have many options for your family to do, pool table, books, games, fire pit and so much more. Working with the rental company was so easy and they were very pleasant. We just wish it had been cleaner venue and sitting on the furniture was not a torture to your hind quarters or we were not swatting away fruit flies while eating.

Initially the trip was to take a train ride but that got canceled. Decided to go anyway and so glad we did! The cabin was beautiful and the family time was amazing! Will definitely book this cabin again!

We had a terrible experience with the owners of this rental . 30 mins after arriving we lost power to the cabin due to the horrific thunderstorms and flooding ,same storm that swept the little town of Canton away. We had no power or running water. we lost power (at 4pm) and was told by office it would be on before 8:30pm. However after having to leave to go get dinner ( due to no power) we hung around town until close to 8 pm thinking power may be back on. Wrong! We had no power at 9:30 and really not sure what time it came back on if it even came back on at all that night. SO with us having a small child we had no choice but to leave with a child at night in the bad storm and flooding just to make it to Sylva where we have family. Called the Breedlove’s(owner’s of cabin) THINKING it was a no brainer that they would refund us our money due to the situation we were in but they were very ugly about it and was up for no discussion on refunding our money($800) SO I would think twice before booking with The Breedlove’s.

Quiet, Secluded Cabin Off The Paved Rd.
I traveled to the Dogwood Point cabin with three other ladies for my bachelorette weekend trip (Friday-Sunday). We came to the area to go to the casino in Cherokee, which wasn't but a 25 minute drive. Overall, the cabin was nice. Arrival to the cabin was a little stressful just because my iPhone Map was not registering the correct address (there are SEVERAL similar addresses in the area). I am not usually a Google Maps user, but the link Ginger sent for directions was for Google Maps. I ended up having to call her to get more directions because Google Maps was trying to take me a route that would've taken us 53 minutes to go 9 miles. I was unaware at the time of booking that the cabin was located off of the paved road. The last 3-5 minutes of the ride to the cabin gave me an uneasy feeling since it was on a narrow, loose gravel road. While looking for cabins to rent I saw many of the listing with "4WD REQUIRED", Dogwood Point listing did not. Luckily it did not rain, so I was able to make it up to the cabin, but it was not necessarily all that easy in my 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan. I am familiar with driving in the mountains and I am usually fairly comfortable driving them even in the dark, but once I hit the gravel road I was nervous. Right away I let the others traveling with me know that if we were to go anywhere, that we would need to be back to the cabin before dark. It was nice to already have the door key code when arriving so we could go right to the cabin instead of having to go to the rental companies office. Ginger gave the option to complete the paperwork the day before arrival to the cabin so we did not have to go to the office. It was simple to complete once I received the email. When entering the cabin to explore the layout, we all quickly noticed that there were several windows and doors without any blinds or curtains. I knew we were pretty much secluded off the gravel road, other than the cabin right before ours on the same property, but something about the bare windows made me and the others feel a little uneasy. Rather than using the futon bunkbed, I ended up staying in one of the other rooms with another lady because there were absolutely no window coverings downstairs where the pool table and bunkbeds were. Luckily the bedroom upstairs, and both bedrooms down stairs had king size beds and had blinds so we all were able to close them and feel better at night. Other than the location and the bare windows, we enjoyed the stay!

A cabin with everything to stay entertained
Loved the surprises we found like the hammock and corn hole boards. We loved everything about the cabin even though we saw a little wear and tear on the couches and chairs. The view is beautiful and there is plenty of parking and road was easily accessible in a car. The property management company communicated well.

Very Nice Cabin
Located at the end of the road. Very private. Everything you need is available. Back yard is a little scary if you have young children, due to being on edge of mountain. But enjoyed it very much.

Beautiful Views
Amazing property mostly secluded other than one other cabin on the road, but there is still plenty of privacy. Amazing views from upper deck and lower patio while in the hot tub! Plenty of things to do in the cabin if you want to just relax and not go anywhere. Fully stocked kitchen as well! Pool table could use a new cover and maybe a couple new pool sticks. Other than that, great place to stay and I would definitely return.

Great hospitality. Cabin is nice and spacious for a family vacation. In proximity to Cherokee casino, Hiking trails, and skiing opportunities maybe 30-45 min away. Poor WiFi.
