About this cottage rental
This Beautiful one bedroom loft is located between pipeline beach and sunset beach at the famous surf spot 'Rocky Point'. We are just 4 houses from the the beach. The North shore bike path is just steps away. There are multiple gourmet food trucks that park all along the bike path. One of our favorites is the elephant truck (thai food) and our kids favorite is the brick oven pizza truck Impossibles Pizza which is across the street from us in the evenings. Turtle bay resort is just a 10 min drive up the road and is a fun place to dine, watch the sunset over the ocean at the pool bar while listening to live music, or partying after dark at the famous surfer bar.
Rocky Point Studio sleeps 3 to 4 people and is ideal for a couple or small family. There is a full size bed upstairs in the sleeping loft. A queen size bed in the small downstairs bedroom, and a full size futon in the living area. The open beam ceilings make this one bedroom studio feel open and airy, lots of windows to let in the trade winds and sunlight. Surrounded by palms, plumeria, and avo trees, and with a view of all the surrounding Rocky Point neighborhood, you get the feeling of being in your own island tree house. :) You also have your own private deck for BBQing and relaxing after a long Hawaiian day.
This is a separate unit from the main house on the property. I live in the main house with our three boys and we are always happy to answer any questions you may have about surf spots, beaches, restaurants.. etc.. :)
The property is very safe, and is enclosed by a fence and gate.

Our first time in Oahu and we are happy we found this place. 100% recommend it, the place is nice and clean and, it has the best beaches nearby. Chris thank you so much for the services and accommodations. We'll definitely come back, Aloha

Bait and switch! The pictures over sell this place!
Pro: unbelievably close to the beach. Beach equipment is provided.
Con: the property is not well maintained. There is debris everywhere. You have to park on the side of the street next to a trail.
No AC or any sort of air movement, except for a ceiling fan and one fan. It was stifling hot and muggy in the unit.
**The sheets and bedspread had tears in it and had stained (yuk).
HUGE SAFETY ISSUE!! The unit does not have any smoke detectors or C/O detectors (as stated in the listing). This unit sits above a garage, the garage is full of debris. If there were to be a fire, the unit would burn rather quickly (I am a firefighter so I understand the danger this poses).
The toaster had a steel screw not a lever to push it down.
In good conscience, I could never recommend this place for anyone.
Would definitely give it a 0 star if that were an option.

Everything was great for our chill family vacation. Everything you need to escape the tourist vacation trap. The north shore country vibe was exactly what we wanted. Great location very close to the beach.

Property was perfect for our stay. Central and convenient. Could even entertain family.

Exactly as presented online, no surprises. Two parents and two teens, and no privacy, but we were prepared for that. Great breeze throughout so no issues with heat, though it's still April, so not sure how summer would be. Beach path right around the corner, very easy access. Basic accommodations, but that's what we were looking for. Close to everything you need in North Shore. We had a great week, thanks Chris and Sam!

This was a great place to spend our honeymoon. The location was amazing, steps to Rocky Point beach. The home was just what we needed- nothing too fancy but a great place to come home to after a day exploring the north shore. Would definitely stay again.

This property suited us perfectly!
From the location to everything we wanted to see and do, to the laid back style of the home and property, we will certainly keep coming back to this one!

Perfect little place! Just what we were expecting! Had everything we needed.

This house was basic but everything we needed. It was a short walk to the beach which was awesome. Had a balcony for drying out gear. Washing machine and dryer was handy. A short drive to Foodland to buy groceries. BBQ on deck was great. This was everything our family of 3 needed while staying on the North Shore.

What a wonderful spot. My husband and I stayed with another couple, and although the loft bed is small, sleeping in the loft was fun. We could see the stars right through the window at night, and fell asleep listening to the waves.
We loved how close it was to the beach, and the bike path at front was perfect to make loops out of all of walks down the beach. Opening the windows in the evenings and running the ample fans cooled the unit down, and we enjoyed listening to and watching the birds right outside.
While this rental was a little worn in places, the tiles could use a deep cleaning, and a bathroom curtain could make things less awkward :), everything else was great. As noted in the other reviews and listing, tropical locations have bugs. That's hard to avoid. Just keep your food in the fridge or fully enclosed to avoid the ants. It wasn't a big deal.
Chris communicated with us throughout the stay to make sure everything was going well, and had a great supply of beach items (chairs, floaties, boogie boards, mats, small cooler) for us to use.
We would definitely stay here again.

Love this property for our little family. Will be back. Watched some amazing surfing and sunsets. Thank you for having us!

Super chill stay. Plenty of room, relaxed and comfortable. Steps from nightly beach sunsets.
Minutes from pretty much everything one stays on the North shore for. Otherwise, literally 45-60 minutes from anywhere on the island.
It was a rare vacation where we had easy access to explore all day, get a nightly beach sunset and follow it up with quite home cooked family dinners.
Tree house is fully functional, safe and comfortable.

Our family of four enjoyed our stay on the North Shore. The studio is perfectly located with easy access to the beach. The owner is super easy to reach and makes sure we are happy with our stay. The rental is clean, beds are comfortable. Beach gear is provided.

Our family recently stayed at Chris' amazing Rocky Point home for 9 nights and everything about it was 10/10. Chris as a host was incredible. We ran into a bit of a jam on our trip and Chris was so caring and kind- he really went above and beyond. You can't beat this location (the beach is around the corner and is absolutely stunning - surpassed our expectations for sure!). The place itself is as described, and has everything you need and we felt right at home. The big sink and comfortable beds were highlights, and nothing beats the incredible breezes coming through that place! We hope to return in the near future. Thanks again Chris for treating our family with so much kindness!

I almost didn’t want to leave a review because I don’t want to give away how amazing this place is. First of all Chris was great. Communication was fantastic. He checked in on us to see if we needed anything. Let me say, the location is the best on the island of Oahu.. we had an absolute blast. Rented bikes as the bike path is right there and spent countless hours on the beaches of the north shore. Snorkeling and getting sun… We even got to watch the Billabong Pipe Masters, which was a bucket-list goal of mine… We can’t wait to get back there!

What a sweet location. This location helped make the North Shore area the favorite part of our visit from New Brunswick Canada to Oahu. The amenities were perfect and felt immersed in the local culture including taking in the Hurley Pro Surf Comp while there. Check in was easy. We felt secure and the loft was super cool! Thank you for sharimh your space with us.

Online photos completely representative of the property. The property was really clean. Location amazing, amazing beach within a couple minutes walk and area chill and not over run with tourists (Mid Feb). Our host, Chris was attentive, checking in with us if we needed anything, great, friendly communication. Our arrival was long after night fall and he left the lights on for us. Value for money.

This beach loft is simple and unpretentious, but it is clean and comfortable. Second-story, you can't quite see the ocean but you can hear the waves crashing, and with lots of windows it cooled down nicely in the evening breezes, so we slept well after bouncing around all day. AWESOME location... literally steps to the beach, centrally located right in the middle of all the famous North Shore breaks; various food trucks, about a 10 minute walk to Ted's, and short drives to the town centers in Hali'ewa and Kahuku. Host Chris was very communicative. A note on the parking situation: it's tight in this area, just the way things are around there. If you rented some hugamongous SUV, it will be a PITA to find parking on a crowded day. However it thins out at night, and we had no problem finding a place to stash our 2-door Jeep. So just be prepared for that. Bottom line, this spot was a great base for our explorations and we liked it. Thanks Chris!

I am 73 years old and I traveled with my 27 year old friend and dog walker. She had never been to Hawaii and I had traveled to the North Shore many times. Our days were full of activities...zip line, sand bar, swap meet, The Eddie, Waimea Falls, Toa Luau, beaches and look outs. Our Rocky Point studio was a good location. It was small but comfortable and we loved sitting out on the patio at night. It was perfect for 2 people or a small family but too small for a larger group. The stairs could be a challenge for someone older. The washer was adequate but very small. Overall I wasn't disappointed with our choice and it was very private. Mahalo

We came here to unwind from the busy holiday over Christmas. We had an amazing stay. The location is so convenient to the beach. We also loved walking to the original sunrise shack for breakfast. Chris was the perfect host. He was accommodating when we needed him but let us do our own thing. I left a few valuables there and he contacted me and met with my husband to get them back to me. Would definitely stay here again and especially if you want a peaceful relaxing time.

This listing was exactly what it claimed to be and I really enjoyed our stay! I enjoyed being on the Northside of the island where things are more laid back. Some things to note that may be helpful to others: the beach that is located directly behind the property is rocky. It is beautiful but in my opinion not swimable. You can make a short drive to a couple of swimmable areas without issue. I did take the most magnificent nap on the beach though! The lack of air conditioning made the stay uncomfortable for my husband however my children and I were comfortable with the fans. I loved sleeping with the fresh air and the windows open. It does get a bit warm in the afternoon. Overall, I would stay there again but the lack of AC is a deal breaker for my husband.

We loved this cute little beach bum
island treehouse. .. would be a surfer's paradise or or great for a fam with 1 or 2 older-than-5ish children (loft/stairs). There's a gravel/stone path to the door.
Beach access was a very short walk Or 5-10 minutes drives.
The owner, Chris, was very quickly responsive and helpful- including offering extra help when we arrived during a random traffic jam, preventing us from getting groceries.
The only issue I'd say is the need for a deep scrub clean in the bathroom. Everything surface-wise was good. There's lots of fans to help with the hotness.
The bed was even comfortable! I have pain issues, so this was a big plus!
We went body boarding at Kawela Beach with the boards provided and then snorkelers at Shark's cove ( both very cool, Wear water shoes or at least sport-strappy sandles!).
A short walk away by the gas station was Elephant truck (yummy Thai ) food truck and smoothie place. The Thai truck has online ordering for peak times.
Also, go to Ted's bakery - the best (coconut) cake I think I've ever tasted.
Thank you!
