Our luxury chalet is on a large 12,000 sq ft heavily treed lot and is located south of Flagstaff in the quiet secluded village of Kachina. The village property borders the Coconino County National Forrest. It is an excellent retreat from the heat in the summer and snow play in the winter. Enjoy historic downtown Flagstaff and home of NAU just 9 miles away. The drive to the Grand Canyon is just 90 minutes away. Points of interest within 30 minute drive are Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon & Slide Rock State Park, Williams and Kaibab Lake, and Arizona Snowbowl Ski lodge. Places to see in the Parks area include the Lava Tube Caves, Sycamore Canyon, Key Hole Sink, Deer Farm and Oak Hill Snow Play Area. There are many great quad, dirt bike, hiking, biking and running trails for the outdoor enthusiasts. Other activities include hiking, cycling, running, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, golfing, skiing, dining, shopping, sightseeing, and star gazing. Flagstaff is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts!

We are only 2 blocks from a very popular hiking trail deep into the forest. (Toho/Buffalo- right side starts the path) Our large decks would be a great place for your morning yoga or meditation as it's very quiet in our neighborhood. This is the kind of vacation retreat you will come back to again and again.
Activities and Attractions: Our main attraction is the Grand Canyon, a quick 1-1.5 hour drive away which makes for an easy day trip for hiking or riding a mule into the Indian Gardens. Perhaps you were the lucky ones to have tickets for river rafting through the canyon! On your way back to the chalet drive through Williams and grab some lunch and a fresh pie or stop at Bearizona! Williams has the Grand Canyon Railway featuring the Polar Express during the winter months which is wonderful fun for the kids, many fun restaurants, an indoor skate board park and Native American shopping.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this cabin in Flagstaff. Nice four bedroom home. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking.
The balconies have a great view and perfect place to unwind in the evening. Nice fenced in yard for our dog too . Ping-pong table in the playroom and lots of games and puzzles to enjoy! We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay here for our wedding weekend! I love that the house had everything we needed and lots of space. The only thing I would say is it could use a deep clean and maybe something to get rid of the spiders in the lower level.
Overall great experience!

Upon arrival, there were discoveries of many healthy and safety issues within the house. Such as a broken fire detector/ smoke detector on the wall with no cover, and an exposed outlet in the kids room. Also in the kids room, the bunk beds were unstable, not safe to sleep in. On the back deck there were broken chairs, if someone were sit they would fall through. When we spoke to the owner her response to remedy the situation was to put cushions on the broken seats. In terms of lack of cleanliness, the entire carpeting throughout the house was heavily soiled with permanent stains. When I spoke to the owner, prior to arrival, the owner said to disregard the carpeting because she was getting it removed after we stayed. This did not change the fact that we had to live in these conditions for the entire weekend that was planned well in advanced for my daughters wedding, and the embarrassment having family stay with us from out of town. It smelt like urine and mildew throughout the house making the stay an unhealthy and uncomfortable environment. I had asked for a price adjustment and her response was she would send out a carpet cleaner the day of my daughter’s wedding for carpet that was permanently stained. Finally she reluctantly she credited $150 which is the cleaning fee. That did not change the fact that the home was an unhealthy and unsafe environment and a pure embarrassment for a special occasion. There were not enough towels for the amount of guests listed to accommodate.

We enjoyed our stay, the neighborhood and the house is well equipped. Summers are hotter in the mountains these days, and fans/ceiling fans just don’t cut it for me and my friends. So just be warned— there is no A/C.

We had a great time staying up in Flagstaff. Lots of room in the house, and very nice decks to eat or relax on. Instructions were clear

Great place to stay that fit our group of 11 very well. I appreciated the kitchen being pretty well stocked to be able to cook meals.

Our family of nine and our two dogs enjoyed ourselves very much. Alice was very helpful and prompt to reply with any questions we had. The house was cozy and comfortable and big enough for all of us. There was a lot of snow which made it extra beautiful! It was close to downtown Flagstaff and very close to a fun place to park and sled down a hill. My son even climbed up and snowboarded down. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was nice and big and there was plenty of hot water for a shower. If I could add some constructive criticism, I'd say the home could use a deep cleaning.

The house is big we stayed over the weekend and my family and kids fit comfortably. Alice was great she replied to messages quickly. The location is perfect close to everything. She left the Christmas decorations up and it felt super cozy. We did have something suggestions/comments we noticed during our stay that may help in future stays. The heat system doesn’t circulate downstairs very well but the house has heaters which helped a lot since it was pretty cold. The freezer had a bad smell, so we didn’t use it and luckily brought our own coolers so it wasn’t a big issue. Last two of the toilets didn’t flush very well, but I don’t know if this was the pipes or something nothing extreme though. All in all I do recommend this property for big families during the winter time. The views are amazing as well! We really enjoyed our time here and made awesome memories. Thank you Alice for sharing your property with others. You truly made our 2023 get off on the right start.

Alice is a great host! And her Chalet is amazing!!! It was my family’s first time getting together for a family vacation and we all had a great time!! Cabin is very spacious, clean and in a beautiful location! My family is still talking about it. We definitely would go back!! Thank you, Alice, for the amazing experience you provided for my family!! 🙌🏼

Really the only thing I didn't like was there was no air conditioning.
I didn't check, when booking if there was air conditioning because I thought (wrongly) that in Arizona the rentals had air conditioning.
The main problem with this is I have asthma and can not sleep with outside night air. So I had problems getting to sleep, as did my husband because he could not open the windows to let in the cool air.

The host had left us a bottle of wine and a big Hersey Bar and lots of coffee pods. There were spices in the cupboard to use . . which we appreciated. The kitchen counters were quite tall . . the island so tall I couldn't reach the middle of it. I'm almost 5'6". The vanity in the master was split . . but one was so high there is a little stepstool under the sink to use. Very unusual.
The house is ok. We were disappointed that there are 2 bedrooms downstairs . . but only a half bath. 2 bedrooms upstairs & 2 full baths. The downstairs needs a full bath.
The house needs a very good cleaning. There are spider webs and very visible dust on walls, windows, ceilings, baseboards . . a spider dropped into my shower . . whle I was showering.
The patio furniture is threadbare . . the seats were so worn, we sat on bolts . . had to bring out throw cushions to put on chairs.
There was no bbq grill.
There were 3 TVs, but the remote control for the family room did not work. We were able to use the bedroom control, but that meant there wasn't one in the bedroom.
It was still a pleasant stay, but the house needs a little attention and some items updated.

Great home for a larger family group. Very well appointed with all the little things that made the stay enjoyable. Had all the pots, plans, etc. to make it easy to cook dinner several times. Plenty of space for games and stuff. Easy access to walking trails right from the door. Would stay here again.

Perfect Get Away
Great property for larger family.
We travels to the Flagstaff area for our daughters NAU graduation. That was the only time we left the house. We played games, watched TV & spent a lot of time on the decks. The house was comfortable & equipped with everything.

Perfect for families
My family along with my parents and sister’s family stayed here for a long weekend. The chalet was perfect! There was lots of space for all of us to enjoy our time together. The kids loved playing in the fenced in backyard, in the extra ping pong/laundry room downstairs and enjoyed sharing the bunk room. The adults spent time up in the main living area playing games, cooking in the spacious, well equipped kitchen and relaxing. The views out the gorgeous windows were beautiful. Alice was easy to communicate with and very helpful. We all really enjoyed our stay!

Great stay!
Myself and my family and our dogs all stayed at this home. They have a gated yard for the dogs to run around, the ping pong table was lots of fun as well. It's about 45 minutes drive from Sedona, and up at a higher elevation. So, at the end of January it was quite cold! But it's in a beautiful wooded area really close to Flagstaff, a 7 minute drive from the airport. Really wonderful cabin, tons of space, a VERY well stocked kitchen with spices, oils, and loads of kitchen supplies, we were even able to do some baking! Such a cozy cozy place to stay if you're visiting the area, and Alice was very friendly and always available if needed. 100% would return!

Cozy mountain retreat
This cabin was a perfect place for our family to get away and relax for a week. The big living room next to the kitchen was great for family games and movies. Second living area downstairs was perfect for the kids. They also enjoyed the ping pong table in the basement. The Kachina village area is remote enough to feel like you’re getting away from town but close enough (15min) to Flagstaff for shopping and restaurants. The house was clean and stocked with all the essentials we needed for our stay. Our host, Alice, checked in to make sure we had settled ok and didn’t have any questions. We would definitely stay in this cabin again.

The chalet had ample room for our party of 9. Unfortunately the power went out and the wood stove was not functional which caused concern with snow and dropping temperatures. Power was restored b

A great way to ring in the new year!
My family and I had a great time spending the holiday weekend at the chalet. Everything we needed was provided. Beautiful views and we enjoyed playing in the 12 inches of snow!

Large, cozy chalet
There were 9 of us, ranging in age from 7-75. This chalet afforded us enough room to spread out and be comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the Christmas tree and decorations for the holiday. It sure made it feel like home. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Our family included grandkids. We all enjoyed the stay. But couldn’t get wood burning stove to work properly.

Everything we needed
Really an outstanding property. Tons of space. Kitchen is fully stocked with all you need. Beds are comfy with lots of extra blankets and pillows. We had 10 people with room for more. Even though the property slows pets there was no evidence of pet hair anywhere.
Minor issues: Wood fireplace was not simple to use and we are not rookies. Front porch/entry could be better lit (looks like solar light is broken), heat/air is uneven between upstairs and downstairs.
Overall a great stay and would definitely stay there again.

Nine of us stayed at this spacious house and enjoyed it immensely! We spent a lot of time outdoors on the deck looking at Humphrey peak and enjoying the birds and squirrels. Well-appointed. Loads of games. A delightful place to stay.

Room to spread out
We had 5 adults and 6 kids. There was plenty of room to spread out and for the kids to play. The location was very nice. It was pretty warm and stuffy the first day but Alice brought us a fan. She was quick to respond to emails. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous Family Weekend
The house was spacious and well-furnished. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The adults appreciated that the teens could spend their time hanging out in the basement. The neighborhood was perfect for the boys' bike riding. The whole family enjoyed the ping pong table.
