About this house rental
Beautiful large house with large garden and hot tub, can sleep up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms (3 double rooms, 2 twin bedrooms), two of the doubles have standard double beds with the third having a king size bed. House has plenty of character with a grand entrance hall sweeping stair case and original stain glass window. Located on a lovely tree lined quite street close to the Esplanade there is parking for 3 cars on the drive.
The large reception hall has seating, the kitchen is fully equipped and has a dishwasher, There is a large dining/sitting room with feature fire place and also has direct access to the large rear garden and patio where there is seating for 8 people, a barbecue area and 7 seat Hot tub. There is off street parking for 3 cars on the drive plus parking on the street outside the house is free.
The house is just a short walk away from a small secluded beach and is an easy two minute walk to the esplanade where the TV program "The Royal" was filmed and where you can walk into town while enjoying the beautiful sea views and views of Scarborough. In the town centre you will find many bars, shops and restaurants, the Stephen Joseph feature and the spa complex. There is wi-fi installed at the house and is free to use.
There is a summer house next to the hot tub with chaise lounge inside and table football. Great for relaxing in whilst other guests are using the hottub.
The house is fitted with low energy appliances and LED or low energy lighting throughout.

We all loved the location and how spacious the house is. We were also impressed by how well equipped the kitchen is. But with the exception of one bedroom, the beds were incredibly uncomfortable and desperately need new mattresses. The house is lovely but generally looks tired and is in need of a facelift. The same can be said of the garden and the garden furniture as its present condition is not at all inviting.

We rented this property to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. The house had everything we needed and we all had a really good time. Unfortunately the weather wasn't kind though :(

The house itself is a beautifully large home with a lovely garden, it could use a little bit of redecorating but it is clean and made a pleasant base for our stay. Location was amazing was it is really close to lovely walks along the beach. If you have anyone with a wheelchair or walking difficulties then please be mindful that there are steep hills and steps down to the beach, or there is a bus conveniently located on the main road

The location of the house is ideal to explore Scarborough and North Yorkshire. The house had everything we needed and we enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately, the property was not as clean as I would have expected. The chairs in the kitchen were very soiled and dirty as was the trays for the oven. We did try and clean them, but it didnāt help. Luckily, we had tin foil.
We found sweets on the floor in the kids bedroom and clothes in our wardrobe.
Th hot tub had sand in it on arrival, we were told that it was checked everyday and that new tablets were added to the dispenser daily. We did check with the owner, but he is probably not aware what happens. We were told on leaving when the tub was being emptied-- we put all the tablets in on day 1 and they should last all week. They were gone by Sunday!!
The property really needs updating because it is a lovely location, but we will not becoming back. Some of the family did book to come back to the area next year whilst we were there but to a different location.

We have enjoyed a lovely week away. Remote check in was faultless and we appreciated a 3pm arrival as we were able to drop our bags before heading to the supermarket. House was exactly as described, with all rooms cleaned well. Hot tub was a big hit for everyone, though an outdoor shower would have been ideal. Decor is simple but practical and neighbourhood was quiet with plenty of parking. It provided the perfect base for our holiday and would definitely recommend.

Property looked better in the photos online. I was under the impression there was a large garden but photo was misleading. The property needs to be upgraded - the beds were fine but whole place looks tired. Host was very nice and helpful

Excellent facilities in this house, loads of space for the family, (4 adults and 5 kids). Everything you need when away from home, very well equipped. It is close enough to the sea front, 10 minute drive or 20 minute walk so not too busy or noisy from tourists. The owners were very helpful, answered all of our questions quickly and gave us all the information we needed. I can definitely recommend this house for a family break, we all had a fantastic time. We will be booking again!

We had to book somewhere at the last minute and as this had a hot tub it ticked the box and it did not disappoint as the hot tub made it!! The location is around the corner for the sea so it's great for dog walks and beach and also for walking into the main town of Scarborough. We had not visited this area before and were pleasantly surprised about how beautiful the beaches are and how gorgeous the coastline is, highlights were Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. Scarborough is also great though and has plenty of restaurants, ie a good place for a base. The house itself is basically furnished but does the job as described. I would say that it's ideal for a family gathering. or a hen party. The owner could not have been more helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend the house for a stay as there is so much to do on the doorstep. It also has wifi and netflix which is good if it's raining, and there's always the hot tub which is fitted with lights and is fully heated and seats 7 so that was brilliant. The garden is also secure so great for doggies.

Communication with the owner was excellent and the information provided was comprehensive.The house is in an excellent spot for scarborough and filey and ideal for anyone with dogs as the walks are very close. The hot tub was excellent even in october, my grandson loved it.The board games in the cupboard came in handy for games nights.Would definately stay here again

Myself and 4 others had our holiday abroad cancelled so decided to book a short break away to console ourselves. The house is conveniently situated and has all you could need. Every time I had a question for the owner he responded really quickly, even suggested a couple of places to eat.

Arrived early at property and owner was happy for us to park the cars for the day , short walk into Scarborough 15 mins, property is in a residential street so donāt expect to be able to party all night as neighbours would not appreciate that, house was big and had everything you needed, hot tub was lovely at end of day, take away delivery made our week easy !! Memories made so thatās all that matters !!

The property was ideal for our extended family's holiday, very well equipped and we loved the quiet location being a nice 30 minute stroll into town or an easy bus ride away.
The owner, Darren, was very helpful and responds very quickly to queries.
The disappointing aspect of our holiday is the fact that I am still awaiting the refund of the Ā£200 deposit from HomeAway and I'm told that it will be another week or so (i.e. 3 weeks after our holiday) before it gets to my bank account despite Darren's best efforts to push HomeAway into doing something quicker.
I will not make a booking through HomeAway again.

Always enjoy staying at this house and we love what Scarborough has to offer. The location of the house is perfect for us with lots of nice costal walks close by and the main South Bay beach is not far of a walk either.
House itself is big with plenty of character and fully equipped even for when you have young twins in tow.
Have recommended the house to friends and family over the years and will definitely return in future!

Very disappointed hot tub wasn't working - had particularly booked a property with one as celebrating family birthday.
Appearance from the front and porch need attention.
Cleaning needs to be reviewed - blood on pillow, no bin liners, rubbish down sides of cushions on settee.
Not enough towels, no bins in bedrooms for rubbish.
Wouldn't recommend to anyone in state it is in.

We had a great family holiday in this comfortable home perfectly located for the South Beach and our beach chalet. The hot tub is a great bonus š We are ex Scarborough residents who visit family regularly but this was our summer trip to bring our grandchildren to visit Great Grandma and the house was perfect for all of us. This house had added sentimental value for my sister and I who lived in the twin of it further down the street in the 1960's!! We would recommend it for any family.

The house is absolutely lovely, very spacious but cosy.
It's a great distance to the sea front and is a lovely walk.
The house and location was just so perfect and Darren the owner was great with quick communication.

The Garden, location and house is perfect for a holiday. The house is extremely well catered for to a high standard and is very spacious. Beds are comfortable and a very nice lounge and dining space. Parking was ample for 4 cars and plenty of places to eat including takeaway for an evening. Hot tub was huge!

We were a family group of 10 adults and stayed here in July. The house was large enough to accommodate our group and the location was within walking distance to the shops, restaurants and beach. It was handy to have different bedroom configurations for our party, however the smallest bedroom on the top floor was a bit crowded for the 2 adults who had to share it. 2 of the rooms did not have any wardrobes and when we asked the owner if there was any way of providing something to hang our clothes on he was very accommodating and managed to provide a mobile hanging rail and over door hanger fairly quickly.
We enjoyed lots of walks from the house down towards the amusements, shops and restaurants and stopped many a time at some of the cafes for a well deserved coffee. It was particularly lovely to be able to do the walks in the early morning before it got busy. There was a lot of information provided in the house for things to do and places to visit. We visited Mother Hubbard's for fish and chips and El Gringos and Ask restaurants, all of which were able to cater for the vegetarian in our family.
All in all it was a very restful holiday in a lovely location and Darren was very prompt with responses to communications about our holiday booking.

We were a party of 9 from three generations, who stayed for a long celebratory family weekend. The house was ideal for our party with plenty of space, rooms, furniture, and seats plus a lovely enclosed garden with a large hot tub - the added bonus.
The house was clean and comfortable with plenty of facilities and is an ideal location for the south bay of Scarborough just a five minute walk from the seafront above the Spa - the town centre being a pleasant stroll away.
We would definitely stay here again given the same opportunity and must compliment Darren on his communication and help from booking to departure - highly recommended.

We have just returned from a lovely stay in Scarborough. We were a party of 9 plus dog made up of 3 generations of our family. The location is perfect - a short stroll from the Esplanade and the Italian gardens and we all enjoyed Autumn walks to the Clock Cafe (I can recommend the tea and flapjack). We used the lift by a spa a few times to save our legs. There was so much to do that we did not leave Scarborough - we visited Sea Life, and went to the tourist information near the harbour to buy a treasure hunt which kept us amused for hours - the clues took us up to the castle and around the harbour area.
The house was cosy and comfortable and the hot tub was a definite highlight for the children. The enclosed garden was great too. The kitchen was large and well equipped and the hall a good size for us all to congregate ready for going out. We thought that the dining table was great for 8 people but a bit squashed when all 9 of us were there. The bedrooms were quite large - some had wardrobes, some had a chest of drawers. I think that only the top floor double room had both though. The ensuite was modern and it was great to have the extra shower in the mornings.
We ate out at Tuscany Too on Filey Road which was less than 10 minutes walk from the house. The meals were lovely and the complimentary bruschetta was a nice touch.
A lovely stay and Darren's communication with us from booking to leaving was great. We would recommend to others.
