Let me start by being kind - this is a big house in a great location (10 mins walk to North Bay & right opposite Peasholm Park). However, that's where the good bits end. The house was dirty, especially the kitchen. It showed signs of wear and tear in many places, sometimes to the point of risk. For example, many of the dining chairs had loose legs that splayed when sat on - my daughter sat on one whilst holding my 3 month old granddaughter and nearly ended up on the floor. The laminate flooring in the living room was lifting and several of us tripped over it. There were no instructions for anything in the house, no emergency contact, nothing to tell us how to work the heating, showers etc. It was Easter weekend and the agency were on short hours - they did do their best to get the owner to sort things though. When I first spoke to him he said 'I can't see how a few cobwebs would spoil a holiday' (cobwebs were one item on a long list of faults). When he visited though he agreed we had a legitimate complaint. Unfortunately, after his visit he didn't get back to us as promised so the agency moved us to a nicer place. It was inconvenient as we had to pack and unpack again but at least it was clean. This house needs a lot of tlc and a good deep clean before it is let again.
