About this house rental

Our cottage is the 2nd house back from the beach and sits on a private driveway shared with our other 2 cottages. Have trouble with steps? We have an elevator that will whisk you from the cement parking pad under the house to the main floor. Or perhaps lugging heavy suitcases up the steps is not something you are fond of. Place them in the elevator and up you go. Our cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, living and dining room, full kitchen, washer/dryer, wifi, a/c and heat, and a covered porch, all on the same floor! There is an additional powder room downstairs and an enclosed outside shower. Up to 2 of your well behaved dogs are always welcome with an additional pet fee. Access to the beach is down the driveway and out to the street, where you can cross over the dune. This means beach goers will not be walking through the property. Please note that we do not rent to groups of singles (with some exceptions for those age 50+), nor to students or recent graduates. The minimum age to rent this property is 40, but please inquire if you are a younger family. We have zero tolerance for partiers. We are LGBT friendly. Please note that we rent Friday to Friday in the summer, with a 3 night minimum the rest of the year. Sheets and towels are not provided, but we can recommend a linen service, if you would like.

Do you have a dog? Dewey Beach is dog friendly! Your dog is allowed on the beach before 9:30 am and after 5:30 pm from May 15th to September 15th. The rest of the year, dogs are allowed on the beach all day. Many restaurants are happy to accommodate your pup if you dine outside. We accept up to 2 well-behaved dogs with an additional pet fee.

A spacious house located off the street with all amenities we wanted for a family vacation with our family. We are planning to come back next year which will be our third visit! The landlord is helpful and friendly. The property is clean and well maintained!

First time we stayed at the 'middle house' in the three house set owned by the great contact folks -- a bit more room, great ceiling fans everywhere, new Roku setup so we could watch our own streaming services any time, and as always owners really responsive. Hope we can go back next year if spaces are available!

For location this one cannot be beat. You can see the ocean and walk to anything you need in Dewey Beach. Nonetheless, it is quiet at night. We even walked up the beach to Rehoboth for ice cream. The kitchen is reasonably stocked with utensils and cooking equipment. We were six adults and ate in every night, so we put it to the test! Some of the furnishings are getting long in the tooth, a few seem like they were rescued from a flood. Plenty of closet space. The front porch gets HOT in the sun and is not much use on sunny days. The elevator is a godsend when moving in and out. The host was more communicative and patient. There was some comment about providing a grill but not guaranteeing that propane will always be available. Are we supposed to bring our own tank? A minor quibble and they reimbursed for the Blue Rhino tank swap. We hope to return someday. It was a special week in large part thanks to this wonderful property.

We had excellent communication with the owner throughout the process. The home was well stocked with all the kitchen items we may have needed and with some beach chairs and umbrellas too. Overall it is an excellent location, with a sliver of an ocean view from the porch with a 2 minute walk to get on to the beach! We really enjoyed having such a spacious home and appreciate how comfortable and nice everything is.

The house was just as listed—a short walk to the beach, not far from the main road in. Valerie, the owner, was very easy to deal with and answered all my questions promptly. My 20-something kids enjoyed the Dewey night life, and my husband and I enjoyed days spent on the beach. If I would change anything, it would be the toaster. We are bagel people, and the toaster could not handle a fat bagel! ; )

We enjoy the peace and quiet, so we were a bit concerned about staying in Dewey at first. The house is tucked in a little driveway and is super quiet! A short walk to the beach and restaurants. The elevator was convenient for my older parents. The house had everything we needed and was definitely the cleanest rental we’ve ever had in the Delaware Beaches. The beds were comfy. The house is dog friendly, but you would never know because it is so clean. I really enjoyed using the in house vacuum system, and I was a little sad to come home to a house without one. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great location, accessible to beaches, restaurants and other businesses. The cottage was larger than expected and provided plenty of space for everyone. Elevator was a definite plus! The only drawback, if you would call it that, is that the property is sandwiched between several other larger properties and very shady! However, it was also raining the entire weekend. I would recommend it to others.

We had a very nice stay last week of August in the Blue Cottage. Two of us and our dog. The property is a group of three small homes with a shared driveway. Just a little beyond the driveway is the beach entrance. This is the main access to Dewey Beach so it is a bit busy there with several hotels. The property is walking distance to dining and a short drive up Rt 1 to a lot of stores and restaurants. Close to Rehoboth Beach and state parks and Rehoboth Bay too. The cottage has main access by elevator or stairs. A bit of an ocean view from the back enclosed deck. It is in very good shape but kind of dated in some parts. Otherwise a very good choice near the beach!

Enjoyed staying at this house so much! We loved the location, close to Nalu and bay restaurants. It's about a mile from the noisier parts of Dewey, but we love the walk or bike ride. The space under the house was great for storing our bikes and beach gear, and also for a workout! The house is spacious and well-supplied. The windows work well, and the A/c was quiet and also worked well. Ceiling fans in all the rooms. The screened in porch was a hit with all of us, especially my older parents. So glad they allow dogs because that is a must for us when visiting Dewey!

Lovely cottage very close to the beach. You can see the sea from the covered porch and hear the waves crashing when the windows are open. Very clean. The cottage had everything that we needed. The dogs loved how close it was to the beach, and the private drive makes this cottage feel very private. The elevator was a plus and helped with the cases. We enjoyed our stay!

Perfect spot for our three generation family reunion. It was nice for us to be all on one level on the second floor accessible by elevator & outdoor stairs. The space is larger than the photographs show. At the family dining table we enjoyed meals with choice of new tableware or old bone china, breakfast in the informal but well insulated patio within sight of the ocean. The long stretch of Atlantic beach is just next door and it's a great place for walks off season too. The house functions well in terms of location, space, layout and has furnishings both new and old that make it feel like a home rather than a commercial rental property.

House was in a perfect spot...could see the beach from the porch. If you like a firm mattress then you're in luck. It was a little noisy as houses are close by...but close to restaurants and town. Dog friendly area.
